Fall of the Western Kings by J. Drew Brumbaugh is the first book in the Tirumfall trilogy and it was a good read. The synopsis led me to believe it was going to be better than what I read, and I was slightly disappointed because of that, but it was still a good read. I think the descriptions could have been better, as well as the timeline throughout the novel but overall it held my attention alright. It was slightly reminiscent to Game of Thrones to me, at least when the descriptions were well written. This is the first novel I’ve read from this author before, and I will be reading more in the future.

J Drew Brumbaugh is a new author to me and I will be reading more of his books in the near future. I love the descriptive world building he has created. With the world pictured in my head, it made the pages fly by as I needed to see what was on the next page. The characters are fully developed and interesting. They go on a fantasy adventure that keeps me on the edge of my seat. Grant wanted to learn how to use a sword. Now there is a law that states he is not to learn how to use a sword, but Grant did not let that stop him. He is now an outlaw because of his determination of using a sword. There is so much more to Grant’s story that I think you should read it for yourself. It should be able to read in one sitting so make sure you are comfy and enjoy your book.

There is nothing better than an author that keeps the story going with the same characters from the first book into the second book. I find that I am interested in the story more with familiar characters. The world in which Isra Sravenheart has created the world with light and dark fantasy. She has brought Lady Isra who is a powerful witch and Astrid the raven/man companion. Then there is Contessa who is a white power witch. She believes in good magic and love and light. Isra wants to take Contessa in and mentor her. There is some type of light in Contessia that is making Lady Isra opening up to the light some more. Will Cantessia help Lady Isra or will Lady Isra turn Contessia? I highly recommend this story. Make sure you read book 1 before you read this book.

‘Tidal Love’ by KM Lowe literally took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst I was reading it. I was hooked from the very first page and found myself totally immersed in the novel until the very last page. The dramatic and overly realistic prologue had me gripped and although I found it uncomfortable to read this was due to the authors wonderfully written, honest and descriptive narrative. I was rooting for Harleigh from then on, knowing what she had been through in her past and this was a book I could not put down.
School teacher Harleigh Harrison is sent on an elaborate holiday to Bulgaria over the Summer by her older brother Gavin in the hope that she can rest and recover from her abusive relationship with ex fiancé Martin. Harleigh is apprehensive about her trip but is also looking forward to some sun, sea, and cocktails. The last thing Harleigh is thinking about is meeting a man but having met Giovani Russi as soon as she enters her hotel she can not deny that the handsome Gio catches her eye. Meanwhile workaholic Giovani is happy running his hotel in Bulgaria, and is busy growing his empire. Having suffered his own heartbreak Gio is now enjoying living the life of luxury and is not interested in relationships until he meets Harleigh and suddenly she is all he can think about. As Harleigh and Giovani spend more time together and get to know each other they realise they are both lost souls with pasts which makes it difficult for them to trust again but they also start to realise what they have both been missing out on, love.
I found this to be a really heartwarming and at times heart breaking read but thanks to the authors wonderful narrative the book was also an easy read which flowed well. The storyline centred around Harleigh and Gio, who were both great characters as they were likeable, realistic and relatable. However the secondary characters such as Harleigh’s brothers, Gavin and Sebastian and Gio’s brother Lucca were all fascinating and added to the story. The plot had plenty of drama and suspense and of course romance with a twist near the end which I had not seen coming. I liked how the couple’s relationship had a ‘slow burn’ element despite their instant mutual attraction and that their chemistry came across in the story.
The story was told from two different point of views, Harleigh and Giovani’s and this made getting to know them a lot easier and by being inside their head it made me feel immersed in the story. The authors amazingly detailed descriptions of Bulgaria also made me feel like I was there. Although the book deals with some darker topics it is done so sensitively and within the context of the storyline. An enjoyable, emotional and engaging five star read which I definitely recommend.

EAST BEACH (Red Farlow Mysteries No. 3) By W.F. Ranew 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book EAST BEACH (Red Farlow Mysteries No. 3) by W.F. Ranew. It is a story that includes secrets, mystery, and danger. I was pulled in from the very beginning. This book has PI Red Farlow finding Joseph Trammell dying in his home. Who had shot and killed Joseph Trammell? Read this book for the full story. This is a book that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I loved reading about the character of Red Farlow. He is intelligent, resourceful, and once on an investigation has a fierce determination to find the truth. He would be someone I would want to hire as a PI. This story has many twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Many characters are introduced and many of them help Red in his investigation. Then some have other plans and agendas. They don’t care about anyone but themselves. This is a who-done-it that is exciting and entertaining to read. You won’t be able to put it down until the final page. The author does a wonderful job of making the story and the characters come alive. I would highly recommend reading this book and series.
I liked the idea of this story from reading the synopsis. As I got into the story I found I just couldn’t stay focused. The writing seems choppy and Way way too many characters the author wants us to know about. Plus there are a lot of storylines running through here. I know they all circle around to meet in the end. Speaking of that…this really pricked my interest again about three quarters of the way through. Quick action! This has just about everything that could happen…does happen in here.
I liked the story line of Beth and Martin and his brother. There does seem to be some heat between Beth and Martin that could be felt. I also think I would be terrified if I needed to be treated in her hospital. Scary amount of stuff happening there.

This is another action packed story. I enjoyed it. Julian really impressed me in this one. I didn’t realize he is such a force of nature to be reckoned with. He see a problem and he fixes it. Once he sees Sadie and Holly multiple times he realizes fate is stepping in. Holly hasn’t had a great life but she sure turned herself around. I actually ended up liking Her and of course Sadie is the cutest!
I also didn’t realize that Julius had such a large family (They could have their own series). All of his brothers are wonderful and I love how they have each other’s back.
This is the third book in the series. This one is my favorite so far. The story moves along at lightening speed and is filled the drama and suspense.

Tidal Love by K.M. Lowe is an emotional story that will really capture your attention and just not let go. The author has really created as lasting and engaging story from start to finish. The characters in this book are just perfect for each other. They each have their own past, their own scars and aren’t looking for love. But the connection between them when they meet is undeniable! It really felt like you got to experience their journey with them throughout this book. It made it much better to read having that connection with them. This was a well written book that I would highly recommend.

I’ve read each and every book of this series and fell in love with them from the first one! This one shows exactly why the series is not only never-ending but grasps your interest. A lot is at stake for our heroine as she must battle to choose stardom and all that it entails or continuing to fight for the righteous that her heart leads her. Great story for teens and kids alike to learn from. I’m a grown adult who found this book all like the others to captivate not only my attention but teach valuable lessons about life and overcoming obstacles. Great writing!

Everyday Enchantments by Maria DeBlassie is such a different type of book for me. I was intrigued and drawn in by the description and I don’t regret trying out a different style writing and a genre that is new to me. Everyday Enchantments is an active encouragement to find the magic in everyday life, it can be found everywhere and in everything, you just need a different perspective. The magic doesn’t come from conjuring up spells and potions, but from changing your mindset and actions. And, from believing. I love the way this book made me feel. It was very easy to read and afterwards I felt like I could add a touch of magic to my own life. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for some positivity and something a bit different to read.
Vanishing Day: A Logan McKenna Mystery/Thriller by Valerie Davisson is the fourth book in the Logan McKenna series. This book can be read as a stand-alone although for me personally I would recommend reading them all so you get the full character development. I thought this book was a fantastic addition to this series. It was well writing and full of intrigue. The story was done really well and covered a sensitive topic with ease. It didn’t take long before I was hooked and this book and wanting to find out how it was going to end. This whole series has been a strong series and this book is probably the best yet. An amazing story and one up would certainly recommend.

Curse of the Sands (Relic Hunters Book 2) By Martin Ferguson 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Curse of the Sands (Relic Hunters Book 2) by Martin Ferguson. It is a story that includes action, adventure, danger, and mystery. It is a book that had me turning pages wondering what was going to happen next. It pulled me in from the beginning and I was hooked. I love the character of Adam Hunter. While he doesn’t always follow orders, he acts when others are in danger to save lives. This story has him and the team from the British Museum off to Egypt where a pyramid has appeared. Once there they find themselves not only fearing danger from deadly traps but the evil that comes not only from long ago but also from rival teams. What does the future hold for Adam and his team? What will they find in the pyramid? When cities start to crumble will they be able to save them? Read this book to find out. This is a story that is exciting and fast-paced. It takes you on a journey that had me on the edge of my seat. I enjoyed reading about Adam and the others that help him. I also enjoyed the bantering back and forth with the characters. I have always loved stories about Egypt and the pyramids so this is a book that I had a lot of fun reading. The author does an amazing job of making the story and the characters come alive. I felt like I was right there with them. Don’t miss out on an amazing story that you will not want to put down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

Who is this author and where has she been all of my life? This is the question I am asking myself as I write this review. Belinda Willams has a very creative knack for snagging a reader’s attention and not letting it go until the very end. As the first book in her Freshwater book series, Read Between the Lines was phenomenal.
So where to begin to start my review. There is just SO much about this book that I want to say and I hope I can put it here for you. Belinda Williams takes the reader on an incredible journey with this book. There’s humor; the best line EVER written in a book: ‘kale has no right to be in liquid form’ tickled my funny bone immensely!! Romance, we’re talking the swoon-worthy kind. TONS of feels, be prepared to laugh and cry. Then there are the characters, Matt & Kat. From the introduction to the end, watching them evolve and work through the ups and downs of not only their relationship but their interactions with sub-characters was wondrous. ‘Read Between the Lines’ hits all the markers for a perfect romance book.
As this is not the first series by this author but the first book for me, I definitely will be reading her other works. With a campy writing style that’s fun and easy to get through but still takes on powerful subjects and feelings, Belinda Williams covers it all. As much as I want to tell you more about this book, I don’t want to share any spoilers. Read the blurb. Pick up the book. You’ll thank me. Of this I’m certain. So I’ll just say it now: You’re welcome. 🙂

As Belinda Williams is apt to say in her books “Far Out!”. And let me tell you Self Made fits this phrase. As the second book in Ms. Williams’ Freshwater series, this book just keeps on with the goodness. Although this title can be read as a stand-alone, I would highly suggest you pick up book one. And then go back and just get EVERYTHING written by Ms. Williams. Trust me. You won’t regret doing this.
Okay…so this is a story about a funny guy and your average girl who meet, fall in love, and live happily ever after. THE. END. Well kinda…I mean it’s a romance, right? But Ms. Williams encompasses SO MUCH MORE in this book. It’s about self-reflection and discovery. It’s about family and expectations. It’s about friendship and laughter. All wrapped up in love and humor.
Seriously, as a reader, when an author incorporates everyday struggles and problems in a book, I tend to be wary as I don’t want to be preached to about these things. I just want to be able to escape into the book. But Ms. Williams does a magnificent job of combining these things with humor and connection to the characters, that you learn and grow just as the characters do. All of this, combined with the witty repartee between not only the main characters but the sub-characters as well and a stunning location, make this book a winner.

After reading Book 1 in this series, and thoroughly enjoying it, I’m so glad that we got Jessica and Ant’s story, these two intrigued me previously and couldn’t wait to find out more! This book was captivating and utterly brilliant from the get-go. These are well-developed characters with an amazing storyline that I couldn’t help but love following along with it. I absolutely loved Jessica’s and Ant chemistry and watching their relationship grow. This book while being a sweet romance read, it still gave you all the feels, which I think makes it that much better! I loved this read and I can’t wait for more! I highly recommend this read, this series and more importantly this author!

5 Stars! An amazing set of books. From he first book I was hooked on the story and the concept of an adult theme park. Each book of this series I picked up pulled me in right away and left me begging for more. I love that you would think the story should be over and what left is there, but then here comes another book, with a new set of characters with a new bunch of drama and romance and a whole lot more fun at the park. The box set includes Sugar & Spice, Virtue & Vice, Fire & Ice and Naughty & Nice. The names of the books alone captured me, each book will always have the two people that started it all, Cyrus and Jolie, it is nice to see their story still unfold through each book. I highly recommend this series, it is steamy, has drama, fun, I think I’m the point where Phoebe Alexander should just go ahead and start the first adult theme park and make this a reality!

The Patience of Karma is the fifth book in the Madeline Dawkins series and this book follows on from the intense stories that have rocked these two loveable characters.
The story sets up with them having been married for four months and they are still delving into the world of the PI’s while still trying to escape her ex-husband and with secrets threatening to shake there world, it’s just another day in the lives of these two characters.
This next adventure has them searching for a lost nephew who could save his sister, they are engaged to follow a woman who’s famous husband thinks she is having an affair and many more come out of the woodwork.
This story continues to enlighten you with the history of the two main characters although this story heavily sides towards Mike which is great to see inside such a brilliant developed character. Although there is a arc that runs through all the books you can still read this as a standalone. With the twists and turns, drama which is associated with a Madeline Dawkins book this one does not disappoint. I can’t wait for the next installment in this great series.

Self Made (Freshwater Book 2) by Belinda Williams is a fun and quirky romance. We met Jess and Ant in the first book and now we have their story. There is depth to the characters, and each has their own profession that make them so different. One a health and fitness guru and the other a comedian. It is a story of opposites attract and the fun begins as Jess tries to remake the man. The story is steamy and an easy and an enjoyable afternoon read.

Secure Heart (Chase Security Series Book 3) by R.L. Dunn was a great 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. I was excited to read Julian’s story.
Holly is a singer and songwriter trying to make ends meet for her and her son. When something scary happens to her she decides to hire Chase Security which is where she meets Julian. The more time they spend together feelings start to develop.
Julian has started with Chase Security and is trying to move forward from his past. He gets a job watching over a single mom and her daughter. He’s also working on a serial killer case. Will he be able to help them and find the serial killer?

CAFE CONFIDENTIAL: An Unfiltered and Intimate Memoir by Lynda Filler is such an interesting and entirely inspiring story. I love to travel, but I really don’t think I could have done what Lynda did- sell up everything, and then jump on a plane with little more than a pocket full of one way tickets. That was really brave, and so adventurous. This story takes us along on her travels, a real journey of discovery- whilst also sending a message that it’s never too late to follow your dreams. With photographs sprinkled throughout, they really help to enrich the story. Ms. Fillers writing never fails to keep me captivated- and her memoir did all that and then some! Inspiring!

The Patience of Karma (The Madeline Dawkins Series Book 5) by Cynthia Hamilton. These books never disappoint me. Once again I was so completely hooked and happy to get lost in the pages. The world this author has created never gets old to me each book I find myself on the edge of my seat and trying to figure everything out before the end. The characters are complex and relatable, they pull you into their world and I loved every minute of it. The storyline is well thought out and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Even the smallest of details are focused on and each page gets better than the last. Five big stars all the way and highly recommended!

I really enjoy reading The Blackened Series from Isra Sravenheart. Her Blackened Heart is the second book in the series and I would personally recommend that you read the first one before diving into this one to get the whole effect of the story and the characters that are in it. I really loved the dark undertones but the way the author makes you still fall in love with the darkest of characters. In this one Lady Isra is back at her dark and dubious ways in this one. We find her and her raven companion holed up in their fortress and protected by a magic spell. However, things still find a way in and thus end up in the wicked web that Isra so loves to weave. I loved this one and I am even more anxious to get my hands on the next installment. I can’t wait to find out what wicked ways we will find Lady Isra up to next!

Ill be the first to admit that I’m a bit if an oddball. I am not a sports fan, we dont watch any at home or even have a “team” we like except our hometowns big names. But give me a sports romance book and I am glued to the pages! I loved reading about Hunter and Kennedy. They each have goals and will let nothing stand in their way. I enjoyed reading this and will go back and read this series, as this is a standalone and first I’ve read in this particular series. Great read for an afternoon!

Ellen is bang on the money with this series! This book gives us Karina on vacation in Cancun! Her sister is supposed to go with , but ends up hurt and has to cancel. Since her sister can’t go, she has a co-worker/friend that is able to go with her. But things are rarely cut and dried with Karina and this time is no different! This tale ended up being a book you couldn’t put down—which is nothing out of the ordinary for Ellen!

Vanishing Day: A Logan McKenna Mystery/Thriller Logan Book 4 (The Logan McKenna Series) by Valerie Davisson. I’ve come to realize when it comes to this series and the author I’m not going to be disappointed. I’ve read each of these books and they just keep getting better. I find myself completely lost in the pages and not caring how much time passes me by. The mystery, suspense and action pulled me in and I found myself on the edge of my seat more than once. This one I felt packed a bit more of a punch than usual and I loved every single minute of it. The characters are complex and relatable, they pull you right into their world. The storyline is well paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking. I’m excited to see where this author takes readers next. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

I absolutely love The Chase Security Series. Secure Heart is Book 3 in the series. All of the books are great and detailed. The author did a great job giving the readers what they like. Julian and Holly are both great characters. There’s other characters in the book from previous books but this one focuses on these main characters. My favorite is Sadie though. Holly is an up and coming singer who ends up needing a great security team to help keep herself and her daughter Sadie safe. Who else is there aside from the Chase team! They are the best. Julian and Holly begin to get close but, both have a terrible past. Will they be able to let each other in or will they just end up with a professional relationship? When Holly and Julian both have people after them, what can they do? Is it the same person? Will they be able to get through these attacks in one piece? There’s a lot of action in this book and some suspense. You definitely don’t want to miss out on this book. I would also recommend reading the others in the series. You will not be disappointed.

Dunn – Review by Michelle Mulvey
Secure Heart is the third book in R.L. Dunn’s Chase Security Series and I was absolutely delighted to discover that it was about Julian that I got so intrigued by in the previous book! He is the embodiment of his call name “Smooth” and I can only imagine the pressure that comes with that and I absolutely admired how he carried it. I was also delighted to get to San Diego branch of Chase Security (the one missing now is the New York branch and I hope that we will get there soon with Tighe and Lissa!) and meeting the crew there! In the center of the story is Holly D and her four-year-old daughter Sadie and when two broken people meet and the stars align, magic happens … the pain that Holly carries, the pain that Julia carries, the maturity that the four year old Sadie expresses … it has been a while since I cried as much as I did when reading Secure Heart … The human depravity is something that the writer excels at writing about, the feeling of reality that it evokes and the pain we feel when we read the stories … I bow my head to her talent and I hope that she will keep the stories coming our way!

Pharaoh’s Forgery is the fourth book in the Karina Cardinal Mystery series by Ellen Butler. This series keeps getting better and better. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend you read the whole series in order to get the complete backstory. This book is full of page turning twists and turns. The action and adventure had me reading long into the night to find out what would happen next. Karina is on vacation and the mystery begins. Her sleuthing skills are getting better with each mystery. If you like a good Mystery , this is a great pick for you.
