Earl of Darby (Wicked Earls' Club) (Once Upon A Widow Book 4)Earl of Darby (Wicked Earls’ Club) by Aubrey Wynne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Earl of Darby is the fourth book in the Once Upon a Widow Book series by Aubrey Wynne. Aubrey Wynne does an amazing job writing historical romance stories. I find her attention to detail amazing. While reading this book, I feel like I have been transported to the time period in which the story is based. Her characters are complex and relatable. In this story, Miss Hannah Pendleton finds herself with a broken heart. That is when the Earl of Darby notices her, but there is a problem, Hannah is being courted by (in the words of the author) the Devil himself. What will Hannah chose the Devil or the Earl of Darby? You will have to read the story to get the answers of this and many more decisions made by Hannah , the Devil, and the Earl of Darby.

Loving Jake (Almost Perfect Series Book 1) by Lisa Lanay – Review by Lisa Helmick

Loving Jake (Almost Perfect Series Book 1)Loving Jake by Lisa Lanay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was excited to read this one but once I started I wasn’t too excited anymore. It seemed boring, slow and too much in her head thinking. I thought “well too much isn’t going to happen in this book”.

But ladies….just hang in and keep going! This turns into an un-freaking-believable story. I ended up staying up until I had turned the last page.

I really started to like Jake and feel his plight as the story progressed. He seems like an honest to goodness guy who got burned. When he visited his Grandpa for a “talk”. That was so sweet and lovely. I liked being in his head for a while to know what he was thinking vs his actions and what he was saying to Kimberly.

The epilogue was great! Perfectly rounding the story out.

This is a first time author for me. This story turns out great. I worry that the beginning (maybe 20%) could cause people to give up on the story. The characters..I liked Jake. Kimberly was different but she grew on me. As secondary characters Grandpa Zach was a fav. Carly turned out to be a good friend/sister.

Vampire State by Alexander Charalambides – Review by Angela Hayes

Vampire StateVampire State by Alexander Charalambides
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vampire State by Alexander Charalambides is an original take on vampire lore. The book covers quite a lot- from politics, drama, intrigue, danger, romance, a bit of a love triangle, and more. It felt a little dystopian and dark at times. But that added to the whole atmosphere.
What if you could have everything you ever dreamed of- such as status, wealth, and influence? And all you had to do was die first? Rowena faces this dilemma- with a huge choice to make. What will she decide?
This was an interesting story- complex and dynamic. It felt a little heavy and slow going at times- but I was intrigued enough to want to know how everything played out, and it was worth it in the end.

Thank you, Alexander Charalambides.

Loving Jake (Almost Perfect Series Book 1)Loving Jake by Lisa Lanay
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loving Jake (Almost Perfect Series Book 1) by Lisa Lanay is a contemporary romance that will tug on those heart strings invoking every emotion available from hate and love, pain and happiness, envy and passion and then some. Lisa has written the wonderful characters in such a way that you cannot help falling in love with them. They are well written and well-rounded so as to be life like and Lisa has created a world that you want to be a part of, take the journey with them and try to hold them together. You want to take away the pain, the drama, the angst and fill them up with everything good. It doesn’t matter how many contemporary romances there are written if the writer does a good job and Miss Lisa did a great job.

Add this to your TBR but add it to the top.

Love & Omens (Crescent City Ghost Tours, #2)Love & Omens by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love & Omens (Crescent City Ghost Tours Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romance story that is a quick but enjoyable read. I would read the first book in this series before this one as it will give you background information on some of the characters. I really enjoyed the first one but this one was even better. Being able to see the future is not all it is cracked up to be and trying to decipher what the visions mean can almost make you go mad. Throw that in with an ex who is back on the scene, one you never stopped loving, a crazy stalker and a wronged husband and you are in for a wild journey as Carrie weaves it all together to make a very vivid tale. I also enjoy that we get to learn more of the wonderful characters that make up the team.

A must read to be added to your TBR list.

Testament of Feats: Book of Judgment,Testament of Feats: Book of Judgment, by K.H. Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Testament of Feats: Book of Judgment Book One by K.H. Jones is a fantasy that is a little dark and action packed. What happens when dark forces don’t care who and what they go after or what gets in the way? What happens when you want to right the wrongs but get caught up in something you are not even sure what that is? There are a lot of different characters to be discovered as our MC, Scream travels far and wide trying to stop evil and find a fellow ranger. It is a story that is a journey which is mysterious and engaging, full of action and mayhem.

K.H. is a new author to me and he is a great storyteller and his worlds are easily imagined. I recommend reading this deep dark tale if you love a good fantasy.

The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis #1)The Rise of House Valdis by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was another new author to me and so I had no idea what to expect but when you see a cover that bright and interesting it is hard to deny my brain the desire it has for knowing what will happen between the beautiful covers that grace this novel. Mega win on the cover for starters, then add the fact that this is a powerful and bold story that kept me on the edge of my seat waiting and waiting for each little tidbit to fall into place. I adored inner and well overall dialog of the main character, Xen. She made this book all that it was and more and I am eager to find out what will await in the following novels that I am praying come in short order. This is one you will have to take my word for it. It is a complicated but not overdone story that will keep you well entertained and have you falling in love with a new set of characters! Not enough good to say! Run and one click I am sure you won’t be disappointed one bit!

Not a Good Death (Agents of Dart Series Book 2) by Naomi Bellina – Review by Liz Vrchota

Not a Good Death: Agents of Dart Series Book Two (Romantic Suspense)Not a Good Death: Agents of Dart Series Book Two by Naomi Bellina
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Naomi Bellina was a new to me author when I picked up Not a Good Death solely because I loved the cover and the blurb available. I had no idea this was actually book two of the Agents of Dart series of hers, but it didn’t affect my ability to enjoy this book. I will probably go back and check out the first one now that I know it exits however.

This book was pretty gripping and I loved how the writing kept me just slightly on the edge of my seat as I read. I was a bit hesitant that the main characters, Lily and Dillion, are partners in love as well as work. Usually these types of books become a tad cliche for me, but this one definitely didn’t go there and I was grateful. I loved that the focus was the crimes and the adventures and obstacles that they encounter while trying to solve the case they are on. The romance was a way to break up the suspense with some laughter and love and I think everything balanced out well. I look forward to seeing what else is available by Naomi Bellina and am anxious to see what the next book brings!

IRRESISTIBLE AT CHRISTMAS (Irresistible Romance Book 2)IRRESISTIBLE AT CHRISTMAS by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

One of my favorite things about the holidays is that usually this is the time we see a lot of new anthologies. I love to devour them myself but also love gifting them because it allows me the chance to share my favorite authors with my friends and family in an affordable way. Irresistible at Christmas is one that I knew I would need to get my hands on as soon as I could and I am so glad we have this collection of holiday themed stories that come from some of my personal favs and some the chance to meet some new ones!

I am a fan of Tamara Ferguson, Natalie Ann, and Stephanie Queen so those were my first go to’s to read and they were absolutely wonderful! I loved Tamara’s Two Hearts’ Christmas Gift. It is a small novella that fits in with her Two Heart’s series that I have followed from the get go. This was a bit of an extra treat to visit the scenes and watch the couple dance a romance across my kindle screen. I can’t wait to see what else will come in the remaining books I have and look forward to passing this on this season.

Loving Jake (Almost Perfect Series Book 1) by Lisa Lanay – Review by Jessica Leombruno

Loving Jake (Almost Perfect Series Book 1)Loving Jake by Lisa Lanay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loving Jake was a sweet slow-burn romance with a little bit of a twist to keep you on the edge. I love a good forbidden romance and this best friend’s little sister one was a great read.

Kimberly has always been in love with Jake Taylor. When he returns home to help his grandfather and needs a place to stay, it was Kim’s sister’s idea to offer up Kim’s spare room.

With Lisa Lanay being a new author to me, her writing was surprisingly good. Her characters were relatable and enjoyable to read. Really looking forward to the next book after the tease of the first chapter.

Highly recommend checking out this book/author.

Love in the Lowcountry (A Winter Holiday Collection Book 1) is a varied and exciting collection of books by some fantastic authors. This collection definitely has something for everyone and Ioved how from story to story you got something entirely different.
I started out reading this anthology mainly for Michele Sims. This is an author that I had read previous works of and have always enjoyed. However, once I got the book I couldn’t stop myself from delving into the rest of the work and I can definitely say that I am pleased I did. Not only did I discover books that were well written, engaging and well paced, I also discovered some new authors that I hadn’t heard off before.
Even if you aren’t interested in all the books I would recommend buying this anthology as I am sure you will find more to like than initially expected.

5 +++++++ Stars

Holy Buckets I loved this book! I did not want it to end. Gwyn Mcnamee is an automatic for me and is already on my favorites list. This is my first time reading Christy Anderson and I’ve already pulled her books up so I can read more. These two wrote this story in a way you have no idea who wrote what because it all flows together so perfectly.

This was a different story for a few reasons, one being that most of the story took place in one night and in one place and in my opinion this could be a Christmas Movie on that channel that does the countdown to Christmas every year. I felt like I was right there and could see the beauty outside the windows and actually hear the vending machines dropping the treats. It had my emotions all over the place and Max won my heart right from the start.

The misunderstandings that caused years of loneliness and secrets for both Art and Pen had me wanting to shake both of them but the way this story was told and unfolded made it perfect and I truly want more… I can not wait for the next in this series, while I was reading all I could think of was I hope Archie gets his own story and book I get to the end and find out he is next, so now I’ll hope that just maybe we will get to know Athena as well!

Loved this and can’t recommend it enough. These two authors make an awesome team and I hope we get much more from them in the future!

5 out of 5 stars

The story Naughty & Nice (Spicetopia #4) by Phoebe Alexander is the next book in an amazing series that I have loved reading since the first story. This book hooks you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go until you have read the final page. I didn’t want to put it down. I loved reading about the characters of Micah Greene and Natalie Roux. Natalie is an event planner who is making sure that the owners of an adult theme park wedding goes perfectly. She is good at what she does. She is also kind, helpful, and falling for the man who will be officiating the wedding, Micah. Micah is a man whose past has had a big effect on how he lives his life. When he meets Natalie, he feels an attraction to her. Can he keep himself from falling for her? What does the future hold for Micah and Natalie? Will the wedding of the century be pulled off without a hitch? Read this book to find out. This is a story that has romantic scenes that will make the temperature in the room rise. My emotions went up and down the entire time I was reading the book. There are additional characters that interact with Micah and Natalie. Many of them have been brought forward from the other books in the series. The feeling that you get from them is that they are more like a family than workmates. Don’t miss out on the latest book in the series. I highly recommend it. I am hoping for another book in the series.

This is one of those series that suck you in and you don’t want to quit reading until its over! This is Book 2 in this series and I’ve been waiting to read more about Meda. She is one of those characters that you can’t help but love how strong she really is. After waking up on the beach with absolutely no memory but her name, she sets out to find out the things she can’t remember (Like her entire past). The only thing she does find out pretty quickly is that she can heal people with just the touch of her hands.

Found in the Lost (Special Forces: Operation Alpha) (The Leonidas Corporation Book 1) Tarina Deaton. From page one I knew I was going to like this book and I ended up loving it and it’s characters. I pride myself on not judging a book by the cover but I’ll be honest this one definitely pulled me in. And the inside kept me completely hooked. Kinley and Shane captures readers right from the get go and I was sad when I was at the end, I really wanted it to just keep going. But unfortunately all good things must coming to an end. The storyline is well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. It’s got romance and adventure. The characters are complex and relatable while pulling you completely into their world. I’m giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it. Let’s start off by saying I really liked the take this author took on this story it’s different enough to be refreshing. Each character brings something unique to the story and truly have a part, sometimes that’s not always the case but in this story it is. I felt a connection to each one on some kind of level. The storyline kept me on my toes with twists and turns I wasn’t expecting but loved. The author takes readers on an adventure with the characters and I honestly couldn’t put this story down once I started. The world building is very well done with amazing characters you can’t help but be drawn to. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking. Found in the Lost was a great 5 star read and book one in the Leonidas Corporation series.
Tarina Deaton continues to pull me in with her writing.

This is Kinley and Shane’s story.
Kinley is an archaeologist and loves what she does, she is going on her first adventure. Kinley is sweet and sassy. Shane is a former Navy SEAL who is vacationing in Guatemala and looking to explore the ruins.

Kinley needs a lift to the Mayan ruin, Shane offers to help her. If only he knew what his offer would entail. The sparks flew between these two almost immediately. Things take an interesting twist when they are attacked. Shane’s protective side kicks in and he calls in some friends to help keep her safe. Who is after her and why?

Tarina does a great job with her writing and pulls you right into the story. We get adventure, danger, mystery, romance and so much more in this quick read. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. Be prepared for some unexpected twists and turns as well.

What a brilliant anthology of Christmas stories. These are all full length novels and while I’ve previously read two of the authors, the others were all new to me. While each book is a stand-alone, it is easy to see that some are part of a series. I was never at a loss for who is who or what came from where.

TWO HEARTS’ CHRISTMAS GIFT was written by Tamara Ferguson and is based on her Crystal Rock / Dragonfly Pointe Inn series. “Dragonfly Pointe was supposed to be magical; especially at Christmas.” The story is the perfect blend of holiday romance and redemption and, of course, magic.

That is just one example of the brilliant storytelling in this glorious anthology. I was feeling a little bah humbug and then read these stories over the last few days and my spirits were lifted.

I absolutely recommend this book.

Vampire State by Alexander Charalambides is a fantastically written book that will completely capture your attention.
This is my first book by this author and I really enjoyed how he took a very well trodden topic and still managed to put his own stamp on it. The characters were brilliant. They were well developed and interesting to read about. Especially Rowena, she was easily my favourite.
I also really liked the fact that the author didn’t have to rely on typical vampire traits – ie blood and gore – to portray them as evil. It felt like that was the “given” meaning he could focus on other aspects.
The book was entertaining and a really enjoyable read: I would certainly recommend it and I will be looking out for more work by this author.

Holy holly berries! This book is amazeballs! Yes I said amazeballs, because really that is the only word my brain can produce after the way this book left me in my feels and reeling with the need for more. First of all we have Gwyn McNamee and Christy Anderson teaming up and honestly I need more of this in my life! These two are explosive authors on their own, so seeing them team up is one heck of an explosion that I will never get enough of, bring on more! Follow that up with the perfect amount of holiday cheer, romance, and angst, and you have the makings of a fabulous holiday read that you will devour over and over again this holiday season. I am seriously sincere folks, this book should be made into a movie, more along the speed of Lifetime than Hallmark but a movie nonetheless.

Imagine being stranded in the middle of nowhere with a blizzard raging around you and the company you have to keep is your ex that you just can’t seem to figure out how to communicate with. This book brings you just that. Art and Pen are thrust together with all their chaos and mess and forced to face the cold hard facts. They have a sizzle that will set you hair on end and your feels on fire. I absolutely adored these two was cheering for them to find that happily ever after with the magic of Christmas cheering them on. I know there are a few moments where I also wanted to reach through my kindle screen and strangle them but it made sitting on the edge of my seat that much more desirable. I can’t wait to find out what the next novel will bring but I sure know I will be pre-ordering that sucker as fast as my finger can click. Book 1, Knight Watch, was my favorite until I read book 2, Hidden Obsession. WOW! Steamy steamy sex scenes so only readers over 18!

The characters in this story are strong willed, determined and oh so sexy! Cleo and Mason are perfect for each other. She needs to be protected and he needs to protect. Until the tables are flipped! Their chemistry is off the charts hot.

The story line, stalker, is nothing new but where the stalker comes from is interesting to say the least. The Alliance Agency is some of the smartest and hardest workers. I love their relationships with each other and their personalities.

This series can be read out of order but to get the feel for the bonds with each character, I suggest reading in order. Looking forward to the next book in this series!
