This is my first book by this author, I enjoyed it from beginning to the end. The story is creative, well written and had me sitting on the edge of my seat a couple of times. The characters made the story come to life and engaging. Madeline thought she had it all until one night when it all fell apart. She finds herself in a world of blackmail and deceit. What will happen when she realizes who is behind this whole mess and is there a cost? I highly recommend this book.

Read this book to find out. Madeline is someone who has a fierce determination to uncover the truth. Her world is changing around her and so is she. She is a character that I grew to care about and I could root for her to succeed. Madeline is also a woman who has a love of fashion and has a good sense of style. There are characters that you are introduced to in this book that are helpful to Madeline and I enjoyed reading about them and their interactions with her. The story had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. You won’t want to put it down. Highly recommended.

The story Alex: An Eidolon Black Ops Novel by Maddie Wade is a romantic suspense book. This is an awesome story to read. It had me turning pages and on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. It has action, danger, and romance. I loved reading about the characters of Alex Martinez and Evelyn Garcia. They had been best friends, soul mates. Even though she disappeared he never forgot about her. She has become the assassin Siren. When he comes face to face with her again, he doesn’t want anything to do with her. What will happen when Alex gets a contract to kill Siren? Read this book to find out. Siren is a woman who is strong, independent, and lethal. Alex is a man who loves his job and has those he calls his brothers and friends. Will Alex save Siren or follow orders? The story is fast-paced. Once I started, I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I got lost in the storyline and in the interactions between the characters. The story is written in such a way that I felt like I was right there with Alex and Siren experiencing what they did. Its the story of Madeline Ridley who has the life we all dream of. Fancy house, successful rich husband, a top lady in Santa Barbara Society and anything else money can buy. Madeline works as and Event Planner for high society events and during one of these events her whole world turns upside down. She ends up waking up in a strangers bed, naked with a horrible headache and no memory of the night before. The next day her husband comes in with pictures of her infidelity and kicks her out. The only clause in their pre nup is infidelity. She drives to his office the next morning wanting to make up but walks in on the worst scene she could imagine. She then hires a Private Detective Burt and is about to get to the bottom of the whole weird mess. Will Madeline survive getting the answers she is searching for or will it cost her, her life? I cannot believe that the final book in this series is finally here! I almost didn’t want to read because I have been on such an amazing journey with these characters that I didn’t want it to end but the author absolutely did an amazing job with this final book and it is probably my favourite form the series! It was everything I expected and more! I have been on a worldwide adventure with this author and her characters without even leaving my house! Her writing is truly outstanding – every sound, smell, place of interest is described in such detail that I really do feel like I have experienced some of these places for real. Beautiful stories with amazing characters! I loved that even after book 6 the author still surprised me with what happened! Soren really came into his own in this story and it reminded me why I loved him so much in previous books! I think that it is really important that these books are read in order and I don’t think readers would be disappointed at all! I have absolutely loved this series and I would recommend it in a heartbeat! This series may be over but I cannot wait to see what there might be to come from this author in the future!

I really enjoyed this story! I thought that it was a well written and easy to read story that kept my attention from beginning to end. I liked that the author told the story in the 1st person and used multiple points of view – I always find that makes me feel much more engaged with the characters and it helps to know what they are both thinking at times! The characters Flora and Dean were both lovely characters and it they were really refreshing to read about. They had a great chemistry and it seemed really genuine. There was a quite a bit of drama between the two of them and a lot of miscommunication but I enjoyed that about the story, I found myself invested in their story and I was definitely rooting for them the whole way through! Overall a good read that I would highly recommend!

Perfectly Played is an awesome contemporary romance novel by Holly Kerr. It’s the first time I have read any of this author’s work and I’ll certainly be reading more if Perfectly Played is anything to go by. Flora is partway down the aisle when she realises that she really doesn’t want to say ‘I do’ so she turns foot and legs it out of the church colliding with hot, bearded 6ft 5inches of Dean who is waiting at the church for his bride to arrive, only to get a text to say she’s not coming. When Flora and her bridesmaids M.K. and Ruthie bump into Dean and best man Clay later, the fun and games begin. While Clay and M.K. are smitten with each other, Dean and Flora hit it off and end up in a steamy one night stand. When Dean leaves in the morning he leaves Flora a note in the hope that they will stay in touch. A note that Flora doesn’t find. Both Flora and Dean can’t stop thinking about each other, Dean is hurt that Flora didn’t call, Flora is hurt that Dean left and never so much as left a note. Little do Dean and Flora know that they live close to each other and fate has a way of stepping in. I loved Dean and Flora’s story. Both are worried that the other is still in love with their former partners (well they did meet on what should have been both their wedding days). But they just can’t stop thinking of each other and how much they like each other than they did their former partners, both of whom had definitely not been right for them. Dean and Flora are perfect for each other but will they allow themselves to move on with each other so soon after ending their previous relationships?

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne 4 Stars
This is a story about an average girl named Maia who finds out that she’s not so average. She often gets gut reactions to people never realizing that these reactions are saving her life. After going to London for a competition, she meets three Djinn who swear to protect her. It seems crazy but after an attempt on her life, she has no choice to believe.
This book is a mixture of fantasy, Egyptian mythology and reverse harem. Although it’s not full blown reverse harem, I think the series will eventually end up there. Maia is highly attracted to all three Djinn. Who wouldn’t be, they are gorgeous. I had never read a book about Djinn and that’s what made me pick up the book in the first place. I enjoyed the addition of Egyptian mythology. Usually you find books about the Greeks so this was a refreshing change. I had never heard of the god that made an appearance in this book and I admit that I had to google him. Usually authors include the popular gods in their stories. It was good that Ms. Whitethorne included a lesser known deity because I learned something by reading her book.
In the beginning I was a little confused between each Djinn as they were talking but it improved as the book progressed. I also think the lead up was a little long seeing as the threat to Maia only appeared towards the end of the book. Seeing as this is book one in the series, I feel I have to warn you that it ends in a cliffhanger. I’m still giving this book four stars because the story was unique and interesting to read. I believe this series has potential to be really good. I’m looking forward to reading part two.

Edge of the Storm is Book two in the Silent Secrets series by Lisette Kristensen. This thrilling read had me turning pages to find out what would happen next. I will say in order to follow the storyline completely you need to read the first book in the series. I seriously could read more about Blackbird and Halo and never get bored. They are both strong and well written characters. This is a fast and easy read that makes me want more books in this series. I give this book five stars and patiently awaiting more books in this series, this author is quickly becoming a favorite of mine!

Say Something by Jennifer L. Allen is a phenomenal second chance romance read. This isn’t my first book by this author, but it certainly was my favourite, which is saying something since I loved her book titled Change of Heart. From the very first chapter I was hooked, the incredible detail and emotional history of the characters had me feeling so invested, and the flow of the story was seamless.
I ended up reading this book in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading, I just had to know how it was all going to play out. Jennifer L. Allen is an incredibly talented author whose stories always have me hoping and praying for a happy ending, and she never disappoints.
I would absolutely recommend her books to anyone looking for their next romance read!

Perfectly Played by Holly Kerr is a fantastic romance read! This story is full of details, emotional moments and relatable characters. I ended up reading this book in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading. I felt so invested in Dean and Flora’s relationship and I just had to know how everything was all going to play out.
Perfectly Played is my first book by Holly but it certainly won’t be my last! Her writing style and the flow of the story was perfection! I can’t wait to dive into my next book by this phenomenal author.

Fictional-ish: A Friends to Lovers Romance by Natalina Reis

Love a good friends to lovers romance and this one was a bit different as it spanned many miles and much time apart and hurdles that made this story unique.
Scotland has always been somewhere I want to visit someday and this book took me there and made me feel as if I was there. Livie moved there to open a new bookstore and she had everything, well almost everything..She left her best friend who in her mind betrayed her beyond repair and as she tried to build a new life Kyle and the hurt he caused her was never far from her mind.
I loved this story, every part of it..I even loved to despise Mia and cant help it but I fell head over heels for Cal and cant help but hope that just maybe this author will let this story continue and let Cal and even Jenny have their own stories.
This is not my first book by this author and absolutely will not be my last. I love the way her words flow and grab a hold and not let go till the very last page.
I highly recommend this story and really anything by this author.

I really liked this story. Its a story about how fate plays games with us and brings the love of our life to us when we least expect it.
Flora is in vegas to marry Thomas, however at the last minute she gets cold feet. At the same time Dean waits at the same place to marry the love of his life only to have his happiness ruined when she messages and says she isnt coming.
A chance meeting in a bar bring Flora and Dean together and its a whirlwind journey full of ups and downs before they finally realise they were made for each other

Say Something by Jennifer L. Allen is a beautiful and yet sad story that brings about emotions and feelings that left me sobbing. It is a story about infertility and what one woman went through at some dark times in her life and how she lived through it. My heart bled for those who suffer and it hit home with memories of what my youngest and my daughter-in-law went through. Jennifer’s writing his heartfelt and the story is well written and I loved the characters and wanted to engulf them in hugs and love.
Jessica has just returned to her home town to rebuild her life. The life she has left behind is nothing but bad memories and loss. What she did not expect is the one person she would always love but she needed to learn to re-love herself.
This beautiful story should not be missed. You will definitely need tissues and a good strong drink but it is so worth it. I am hoping that we get to see the rest of the characters with their own stories.

MaddJax Series, Boxes Series Set Book One and Two by Deborah Ann is a second chance romance series.
I really enjoyed that both books were put into a box set so that as soon as I finished book one I could start book two without waiting. These books are full of steamy passion and so much emotion you almost can’t handle it. These books have a little of everything and I am so glad I was able to read them in a box set. I would not have been able to wait to see the outcome of Madison and Jax’s story. There is a lot they have to overcome, will they be able to do it?

I was intrigued by the synopsis and am so glad I picked this book up. It sounded like one I would enjoy and I was right. It wasn’t predictable at all. Our female lead, Maia, was such a fun character. She felt very tangible and relatable. And the three djinn… well, they just made everything even more interesting. Overall this book was even more enjoyable than I expected and just a fun diversion. I cannot wait to pick up the rest of the series and see what happens next.
Perfectly Played by Holly Kerr was a good 4 star read. Once I started, the pages flew by. This is a second chance romance. This is Flora and Dean’s story.
These two literally run into each other in Las Vegas after they both have failed relationships.She is a runaway bride and he was dumped by his girlfriend. It’s an instant connection between them. Fate steps in and they end up seeing each other again at Flora’s flower shop.
They decide to be friends and find they have a love of sports in common, he played baseball and she played softball. As they spend more time together the closer they become.
Will they let their walls down and let each other in? Will they have a HEA?
Overall I really enjoyed this book. All of the secondary characters were great. The emotions are all over the place as these two try and figure things out. We do get dual POV which I really like. I wouldn’t mind seeing more from some of the characters. I look forward to reading more from this author.

What a great, quick read that is well written and took me on an adventure full of all the things that make this series wonderful.
There is so much that is just right about this series. The characters are well developed and no personality is wasted. It is a about friendships and frenemies and everything in between.
This is book 3 of the series and while it may be able to be read as a stand-alone, i think it would be better to read them in order.

Edge of the Storm by Lisette Kristensen is a fast paced, action packed novella that truly did grab me right away. I enjoyed the strong female roles in the story and felt that the story unfolded very well. Despite being a short read, it was really descriptive and satisfying and I loved how it all came together at the end. The ending left me to question if there is more to come yet I was satisfied either way. I would definitely be interested in reading more from Lisette Kristensen, it was definitely an exciting read.

MaddJax Series, Boxed Series Set (Book 1 & 2) was a great 5 star read. I was excited to read these first two books in the series. I was pulled right in and didn’t want to stop until I was done.
Maddison and Jaxon had a steamy encounter when they were young, then Jaxon left town breaking her heart. When Jaxon’s dad weds Maddison’s step sister, it causes them to be step-siblings which adds a twist to the story. Now he’s back in her life acting like nothing happened working as co-CEO to the family business and wants her back. He is determined to show her that he’s back for good and will never hurt her again.
Will she let her walls down and let him back in? Can they have a HEA?
Of course this is somewhat of a taboo relationship which makes it a little more interesting. I loved both of these characters. Maddison is stubborn, smart and pretty. Jaxon is a hot alpha, a charmer and very confident in himself. My emotions were all over the place. There were several up and down moments. If you’re looking for a great second chance romance, this is the series for you.

Beachcomber Enemy by Stephanie Queen is the tenth book in the Beachcomber Investigations series. It had been a while since I had read this series and I was glad to jump back in. Dane Blaise & Shana George are back and their lives are at risk. Someone is out to get them and they decide to go in ghost mode. The only problem is Shana feels something is off. Will they figure out where the danger is coming from? I really enjoyed the story because it has a little bit of everything. The relationship that Dane and Shana have is sweet and sexy at the same time. I am glad that I jumped back into the series for another episode in their lives. I look forward to more in the future.
Minx by Maggie Adams is a fun, quick read. The story is about Miranda, who has been not living her best life. Her husband leaves her and she has to rebuild her life. After having been focused on her husband and kids she has to learn to take care of herself. I like her humor and that she is not a perfect, model person. She has flaws and learns to run with them. Her friends are a great addition to the story but do not overpower Miranda’s character. This is my first book by this author but after Minx I will keep an eye out for her other books.
This is a good interesting story. It starts with Maia who considers herself normal. She has this crazy job as a competitive eater. (I loved that). She randomly meets a few different guys who she is “hot” for but not much happens.
This is a slow moving story. I loved learning about Maia and her job. I got stuck on her being 19. She seemed much more than that age throughout the story. She seems very mild in attitude except for a couple times we Saw some fire come out of her. The three men she meet are lovely. I wish there was more commentary between them and maybe some snark to liven up their scenes. I did enjoy how they each had a specific role to play and how they stuck to it. I hope in future stories we will see more development of their characters as well as Maia’s.
What did I love about this? The story idea is original and creative. The characters are interesting and I think have a great future ahead. I would like to say the cat….but I think I like the djinn better. I was sad at the end but it probably makes book 2 more adventuresome….I see a rescue in her future.

Perfectly Played is a charming romantic comedy read by Holly Kerr. It is my first read by this writer and I know that it will not be the last! I am not sure if this story is an opening to a series but I really hope that the writer would give us the stories of all those great supporting characters that she introduced us to in this Flora and Dean universe in Toronto! We meet Flora in a chapel in Las Vegas when in the middle of walking down the aisle to marry a guy she has been together with for 8 years … she ‘comes to her senses’ and calls it off! While running out she bumps into Dean who is waiting for his bride to turn up … Evelyn never comes, instead she sends a text message to Dean’s best man (and friend) Clay saying she is calling it off … There are a loads of situations that crack you up or squeeze your heart … The writer takes us on a merry ride and at no point did I feel that it was too much or boring or … mix into it Flora’s BFF M.K. and Dean’s best friend’s Clay’s blossoming relationship, Flora’s cookie niece Ruthie and you will be left panting for more!

Say something by Jennifer L. Allen is an emotional and heart wrenching book that will completely suck you in. It deals with a delicate but common problem and the author does an amazing job of being sensitive to the topic. I always love second chance romances but it has been a while since I have read one as emotionally charged as this. I was completely drawn into Jessica and Danny’s stories. They had been through so much and yet they still had so much to go through before they could figure out how to be happy. I have read a couple of books by this author and I love her strong writing style. I am hooked time and again. This is definitely a book worth reading and one I would highly recommend.

Minx by Maggie Adams is a fun and entertaining book that will have you laughing out loud the whole way through. I hadn’t been sure if I would like this book when I first picked it up. I had really connected with the blurb yet it had had such good reviews. I am definitely glad I gave this book a chance. The main character was not just likeable but so relatable. She was fun, witty and thoroughly enjoyable. The journey she has to go on is one that could happen to anyone and it was great to see the way the author handled it all with such ease. Ms Adams has a great writing style. The story flowed well and I found it to be well paced from start to finish. This was a thoroughly enjoyable book.
Edge of the Storm is the second book in the Silent series by Lisette Kristensen. This authors writing skills were creative and i was drawn in by the attention to details. The characters were very like-able and Sloane aka Blackbird is wicked and i kinda have a little but of a girl crush. There really is no other way of describing her that would do her justice. She is awesome. There were so many twists and turns in this book i was kept on the edge of my seat with my heart pounding, wondering what was gonna happen next. Terrorist threats and nonstop action kept this book on my toes. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and i would recommend this to a friend!

Fierce Emotions is book 8 in the Marcy series. I strongly suggest reading the series in order. Marcy is married to Brad and Liam and all seems to be going well, until . . . .
I am not a big fan of the series as I just do not like plural relationships, so I find myself skipping through most of the relationship reading and getting to the story line. That is the part that I do enjoy. The stories are well written and the characters are interesting. It’s great the Linda Burson is able to come up with something different for them in each book.
If the plural relationship doesn’t bother you and you like a good adventure then this is definitely the series for you!

I love finding new authors. This is my first book by this author I have read and I was not disappointed. I really found the author’s writing style to be refreshing. I like the whole run away bride second chance love angle to this book.
The chemistry between Flora and Dean is just out of the ballpark pardon the pun. I really found myself lost in the story as it unfolds around them. The fact that both are really each other’s second chance really adds to the story. I really liked the opportunity to get a different type of romance read.The way the author doesn’t make it predictable and I just couldn’t put the book down wanting to see how it would all turn out. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
