Say Something by Jennifer L. Allen is a second chance contemporary romance. This story if rife with emotional triggers and is so raw at times you can virtually feel the characters as they battle their demons. I found the hometown environment of this story touching and realistic. This story encounters topics so true in everyday life and the author tackled those items with finesse. Jessie and Danny are the epitome of sweethearts but life delivers a fatal blow which shattered their relationship. Yet, life/fate has some of it’s own to deliver and watching that fall into the story was beautifully done. The characters were each well written and full of depth which a great cast of secondary characters.

Evolution: Awakening (An Ash Kyndal Novel) by Hope Anika is a romantic suspense. The author keeps a steady full-speed ahead pace throughout this story from the character introductions to the story line to the stream of events that unfold. This novel is loaded with elements that take charge and bring forth unexpected chains of events starting at the very beginning of this epic book. Hope Anika delivers a take charge suspense with all the required pieces to make this a story that takes the reader into the story and trails them along on the journey along with the main and secondary characters. I enjoyed the mystery and unknown as they fell apart in the story, it kept me engaged, enthralled and wanting more.
Jake the Growling Dog: (Jake the Growling Dog Book 1) By: Samantha Shannon 5 out of 5 stars
The story Jake the Growling Dog (Jake the Growling Dog Book 1) by Samantha Shannon is a children’s book about a loveable and friendly dog. Jake is a wonderful and likable character that children will love to read about. He wants to make friends however he is misunderstood. The illustrations complement the story and are eye-catching. The book teaches lessons that young ones can learn from and it includes an activity that can be used by families and schools. This story is sweet, fun, and entertaining. Jake’s story is one that warms and touches the heart. It is about friendship and acceptance. Wonderfully written.

I loved this book! I love how it shows children that it is okay to be different. It shows what is it like to judge someone because of what they look like or how they act. I read this book to a couple of boys I take care of and they were engaged the from beginning to end. They would ask questions and make comments about the pictures, very interactive story. They thought it was fun and wanted me to read it again. A must for children and those learning that being different is okay.

Jake the Growling Dog: A Children’s Book about the Power of Kindness, Celebrating Diversity, and Friendship by Samantha Shannon
4 Stars
I read this book twice as it is a pretty quick read. I love where the author took this story but I found it a bit awkward at times while reading, my favorite part was actually after the story and the message that was supposed to be gained while reading. The activity was awesome and the list of things you can be thankful for was a great topic starter since I decided to sit with my grandsons and let them lead the rest of my review.
I did have to read a few parts a couple times with them to keep them interested and had much more luck with them after the last page when I opened up the conversation with them about the story. The practice loving-kindness was probably my favorite part as it opened up some awesome conversation with the boys because they understood and shared stories from their classrooms and friends. The activity was awesome and although I’m not sure they will take it any further than our time together they did enjoy the time we discussed it and that was awesome.
So all in all I think this book is great, the story itself did lead into some great time with the kids and I would recommend it.

Winging It is the first book in the Destiny Rules series by Lisa Gail Green. It is a young adult fantasy novel which is a genre that I’m not at all familiar with. I had never read any of this author’s work before but I liked the look of the blurb and decided to give it a go. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised as I enjoyed it more than I expected to. Zach Slater is 16 years old when he discovers that he and his mother are both ‘fairy godmothers’. His mum has been attacked and he must complete his assignments or they will both be grounded (lose their wings, wands etc). The book is really funny, as Zach comes to terms with his new powers and the way that others now act around him – his fairy charm means that suddenly becomes very popular and girls start to take much more notice of him, with some hilarious results. To make matters worse, one of his assignments means that he now has to work closely with Jenna, who he has had a massive crush on for years. It has to be said that there is a really good storyline running throughout the book as Zach tries to work out who the ‘good guys’ and ‘bad guys’ are. The storyline is really intriguing and you will want to keep reading to see how it all pans out. Will Zach manage to complete his mother’s assignments in time? I recommend that you give this book a try and find out for yourselves.

Fierce Emotions is the eighth book in the Marcy Series. I recommend reading the previous books to really get the full impact of this book.
After the journey they took to get here, I have to say that I love how things are shaping up. Of course, there are still trying moments that test the relationships, but things are becoming much more stable. I am even taking more of a liking to Brad. I had issues with him in previous stories, but he redeemed himself nicely. Now, if they could all just get their anger issues under control…
Liam’s past and the issues from Marcy’s past are still two pieces of the story line that are not wrapped up in this book. Some more things come out, but not anything definitive. We’ll see where the next book takes us. As long as they stay together, I think I can handle the drama, lol.
As always, this story is intense and full of twists and turns. I read the whole thing in just a few hours because I had to find out what was going to happen. ?

I give The Vampire Queen (Wheel of Crowns Book 3) by Brandi Elledge, 5 stars. *This review contains spoilers from previous books in the series.*
Tandi is now a vampire. Yes, it is what she wished to happen in case of her death, but she has no idea how to cope. She has been moved away from the only place she knew, and is far from her best friend. She knows it’s for the best and only temporary, but still. Not to mention that she seems to be a horrible vampire, she can’t do anything right. She even has the hot vampire prince to train her. He is sexy as hell she has an attraction to him but he doesn’t seem to have any interest. What is she supposed to do?
When another vampire faction attacks, she realizes just how serious this impending war really is. She gets down to business and decides to help the good guys. Can she become what is expected of her? There are many who will do anything to get in her way, but she is now determined. Little does an she know just how much she will learn about herself on the way. With the help of her friends, just maybe things will work out.
I loved Tandi in the previous book and was so happy to see her as the main character in this book. She is just as girly and spunky as I remembered too! She makes such a great lead. But she has faults too, which makes her even better. She learns a lot and quickly adapts throughout the story. The other characters in the book are great too. Note to the author: I really what to see more of Tracker in upcoming books, her was so my favorite secondary character! The story itself is interesting and pulls you in. There were many twists and turns that I did not see coming. There was action, along with romance, heartache and even humor thrown in to make a complete story. It can be read as a standalone, but you will know more if you read the previous books first.
If you like paranormal romance or urban fantasy with a great story and characters, this series and book is for you.

Love & Ghosts (Crescent City Ghost Tours Book 1) by Carrie Pulkinen
Four Stars
This story was a good short read. I’m not usually into ghosts but this one was good. I felt that Sean made the story more intriguing. His acceptance for what others didn’t believe earned him points. He never forced his opinion on anyone. Now Emily tested my patience. Have you ever had a character rub you wrong from the beginning? That’s what she did to me. Her character just didn’t seem like she wanted to grow. That change was the worse possible thing. I did however enjoy the darker side to the story. That you could believe in something so much that it could take you over. It was scary and exciting. The author definitely grabs your attention with the after life.
Beachcomber Enemy (Beachcomber Investigations Book 10) by Stephanie Queen
5 **** Stars
This is not really easy to say since I’ve read 99% of this series but I truly think this was my favorite so far. I loved the push and pull between Dane and Shana and how their relationship was tested and also that it was not the main focus of the story. As with all of the books in this series it is full of danger, suspense, and the perfectly placed twists and turns. I loved the progression of these characters especially Ronnie, to see how he started and how strong he has become through this series was awesome, and now a major player throughout this whole series has me completely torn, not sure where his story is headed and I’m worried because he has been a favorite.
I dont have the words to explain how much I love this series and wish it was something I could actually watch because I can see this being absolutely binge worthy and I can not wait to start from the first book and read straight through on a quiet weekend.
I would not recommend starting at this book, there is so much history with all of these characters and with the way this one ended you will need the whole story to feel the complete impact of what’s left on the table. I need the next one NOW!!
Many thanks to this author for this story, I pick each one up with total confidence I’ll be totally satisfied when I reach the last page.
Evolution: Awakening by Hope Anika is a fast paced and action packed story that is unpredictable. The drama and action jumps right in from the very beginning and doesn’t let up all the way through. The world and characters that Hope has created are intriguing and at times thought provoking.
Ash is a strong willed and independent woman who is also stubborn, and sassy. The sudden death of her Uncle means she is left to run the PI firm and she suddenly finds herself thrust into something that is bigger than she ever could have imagined and she is faced with finding the truth whilst trying to protect her client and stay alive.
The story was intense and the mystery is palpable and will have you trying to piece it all together whilst sitting on the edge of your seat. There are a few unanswered questions that I am sure will pick up in the next book which I am eagerly awaiting.
I loved this books. Its full of adventure from the first page. The twists and turns are amazing and the ending has left me dying to read the next one.
Ash inherited a PI firm from her uncle, along with her cousin and the broken birds Charlie brought in she embarks on protecting what seems like a harmless girl from supposedly a gang boss. However things are definately not what they seem.
So starts a journey that involves genetics, cults and danger at every turn
Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne is a good start to the series and the story along with the characters were fun and humorous, flighty and sassy, sarcastic and witty. I enjoyed it from start to finish, I mean who doesn’t like hot and sexy alpha men, not one but three. I enjoyed the twist of this modern day fairy tale where there is Egyptian mythology entwined, and djinn.
Maia is a young woman who is always hunger and makes her money entering eating competitions. When she wins a trip to the finals in London it means a big payday. But what happens when she is there is beyond her comprehension and changes her life forever. This paranormal reverse harem romance has magic and more and one crazy cat.
This story was so full of emotion. This is Manny’s story and the book starts out at time when he was young and where one single tragic event changes his life forever. This story goes from the present to past and back and forth throughout the book, it was very easy to follow. There is tragedy, heartbreak, danger, and love in this wonderfully crafted story. There are also some unexpected twists and turns. I highly recommend this book, this is definitely a story you won’t want to put down once you start reading it. This book can be read as a standalone, but it is my recommendation that you read all the books in this series because the books are awesome and the author does an exceptional job bringing you into these stories.

BECKONED, Part 6: Adrift in New Zealand by Aviva Vaughn is the final book to the series and all books before this one should be read in order to understand how we got to where we are and an understanding of the characters and who they are. I have always had a soft spot for Soren and his unlucky journey to love but it is a journey where he has to understand and find himself before he can truly find love. Aviva has thrown in a few twists that were so unexpected and it is a bit of an emotional read, yes there were tears. We see some old characters that felt familiar and new ones that were enjoyable to get to know.
Soren has been cut off from the family money he is used to but it has made him appreciate things more and helps him find himself. When it is time to move on he finds himself in New Zealand and he comes face to face with blasts from his past who held his heart. It makes for an emotional and heartfelt story. One I could not put down for wanting to know what happens.

5-stars
Impact is the second book I have read in this series and can be read as a standalone. The story focuses on main character Manuel aka Manny. I love how in depth the author goes into his back story with this novel. The life he led from an early age was difficult and something I hated that he had to live through. I do feel that it helped him become strong and independent in the long run. The supporting characters also had amazing detail and development. I felt that the story was also easy to follow and organized. The story would switch from present to past but the author labeled each section accordingly to keep the reader focused and moving forward. This was such an excellent book and I highly recommend it. I definitely look forward to reading more from this author.

This boxed set features the complete OUT OF THE BOX trilogy.
This series is almost too realistic at times. It causes all the feelings to show themselves. At times it was like being on a roller coaster and other times like being on a calm lake in a quiet boat.
I cannot have imagined reading this trilogy one book at a time. Each story picks up where the last one left off. Characters continue to grow and change during the whole story. There are layers and layers to these stories. It is absolutely a multi dimensional story that has a very defined beginning, middle and end.

Fierce Emotions by Linda Burson is book eight of the Marcy Series. This series should be read in order otherwise you will lose aspects of the story.
This book in this series has Marcy and her family moving into their new home as a new addition joins them. I wasn’t sure how to feel for a good chunk of the book. Poor Marcy everything should be good and now she’s overheard an unsettling conversation and is having a hard time getting back to the happiness. Will the family’s life be thrown off track once more?
I have really enjoyed reading about Marcy and the other characters in this series and this book is no exception!

This is the seventh book in “The Italian Saga” which is a series of “coming of age” books. While you can read THE IMMIGRANT as a stand-alone, there are references to characters we’ve previously met. If this is the first book you are reading by this author, I imagine you will want to go back to the beginning to see how we ended up here.
The author is extremely detailed in her writing and at times I find it hard to stay focused on what the point is. Other times, reading this “journal” is so visual, it is like being next to the main character as she walks through her new challenges.

Tainted Saint is the fifth book in the Hawke Family Series by Gwyn McNamee. This novella is definitely not a stand alone, it should be read with along with the full series. This is one of my favorite series I have ever read. This is Saint and Caroline’s story, and boy is it worth the wait. If you are looking for something short and sexy, with a little suspense then this is the book for you. Gwyn just knows how to write a book that will keep you guessing until the end. Evolution: Awakening by Hope Anika is a book designed to be so suspenseful you can’t help but keep reading. I have to say the blurb to this book was one of the most intriguing but worrying ones I think I’ve ever read. A circus person turned PI business owner. This was either going to be genius or an absolute disaster. I was so pleased that o have this book a go because it turned out to be amazing!!! Ash was incredible. I can’t decide what it was I liked the most about her. She was such an engaging character. I also loved how the book would have you right on the edge and then just jump you to another character altogether. If kept me. On edge the whole way through. This is a new author for me and I really enjoyed how well she did this book. She real knew how to get my interested and keep me hooked from the first page to the last. This is one book I would highly recommend.
I’m not surprised how much I loved this novel I knew as soon as I read the first page it would have me hooked and oh boy I was right. The storyline had me gripping the edge of my seat and chewing my lip with anticipation, I honestly was completely there along side the character’s able to visualise and feel exactly what was happening such a magical feeling and experience. I’m always eager to read novels from this author I am never ever disappointed! It is full of drama, action, romance, suspense and so much more definitely worth the read but be warned you will get hooked!

Winging It ( Destiny Rules Series Book 1) by Lisa Gail Green. This is a Coming of Age fantasy book. Its the story of 16 year old Zach who finds out his mom is a fairy godmother. That’s crazy enough but add the fact he’s one too, its all a little mind blowing. When Zach’s mom gets hurt he has to take over and her assignments or they will both be grounded ie: no wands, no position, no wings. This story if full of adventure along with the typical crushes and emotions that go along with being a teen. When his crush turns out to be his Fairy trainer, he’s mortified. I just finished reading Impact: Twisted Hearts Love Story, by Autumn Sand.
This series has been epic to say the least!
I’ve fallen in love with so many characters in this series and of course, Manny and Zoe are no different.
This book was so engaging and exciting – it took some surprising turns at times and it really did have me wishing I could read faster.
We start out by reading about Manny as a young boy before it cuts to him being an adult.
We continue getting flashbacks of his younger self that answers so many questions (many that I didn’t even knew I had), while we follow him in the present.
Zoe and Manny have gone through a lot – both separately and together – one can only wonder if they will get to a good place with this much history.
Autumn Sand has a way of really pulling you in and I’m so glad I found this series!

This is not my first book that I have read by Autumn Sand and it will definitely not be the last. This is the 4th book in the Twisted Hearts Love Story Series and is one of my favorites. These books are all standalone’s but I feel you get more from reading them in order. This book is about Manny. Manny has not had a wonderful life and is constantly running from his feelings and the love of his life Zoe. Zoe has survived a lot on her own and is afraid to hope for something with Manny when he keeps hurting her. These too have such a push pull relationship but there is always hidden reasons behind both of their decisions. Can these two untwist and find what is right in front of them? I really enjoyed this book and it definitely left an “Impact” on me.

Impact A Twisted Hearts Love Story Book 4 By Autumn Sand ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a romance like you have never read before. Full length novel with many highs and lows.
This is one of the best series I have read on romance. It is not just a tumble, it’s a full on reading experience. You will Read how Manny and Zoe stumble around their lives. What will bring them back together, as well as the choices they were faced with in this story.
Autumn Sands takes you on a unforgettable rollercoaster of, looking for romance as well as adventure. She will hit all of your emotions. So be prepared! As this will be one of those books you can’t put down. The characters in this story are strong as well as fighters. They have both had hard lives, and yet come back together. This story is a page turner! Take the chance and read this series. Make sure to have a box of tissue close by.You won’t be disappointed.

The Immigrant by GB Amman a four-star read that will make you see stars and stripes. This series is confusing me, but it could be as I haven’t read it in order, this is the first novel in the Woman Scientist novels, but number seven in the Italian Saga, its set up in chunks and each tell a different part of the whole story/saga. Leda is brave, but she is also annoying at times, she is brave as she leaves everything she knows behind for a year, but stupid as she leaves what she loves. This whole saga has a way of sucking you in and making everything grow on you like a moss.
