The Reason Why: Breathless Series by Izzibella Beau is a Y/A coming of Age story. The story is about a young girl, whose mother only cares about herself and her actions have lead to her daughter being taken and thrown into another life. The story was a little predictable but was still and interesting read. It is definitely a story for the younger generation and one I am sure they will love. With some twists and turns it is bit of an emotional rollercoaster and will have your heartbreaking at times but it will also see times when your heart melts.
Alabama life has been shaken up and she is now living with her mom’s friend and two young men, Joshua and Hunter. One has become her best friend and the other ignores her. Will her living there cause more heartache and pain? No one said love was an easy ride.
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and is also the first of a series.
The characters are well developed and the story has a very defined beginning, middle, and end. I was smiling on page 1 when the female protagonist got new job and was getting into this thing we call life.
Although this story was predictable at times, it held my attention through the whole story.

Based on the blurb, I expected this story to be much lighter than it is. This is as dark story that screws with the mind as it progresses. There are lots of elements that are in this story, from BDSM, abuse, exploration and redemption and self forgiveness.
Told in multiple points of view, I did find myself skimming some of the “darker” parts.
This is a series starter and the first book I’ve read by this author and I will be reading future stories.

Spar by Randi Perrin is a contemporary romance that is an engaging read and won me over right from the start. The characters and the story are complex and is told in Randis vivid writing. The story is short but fast paced and is an interesting and captivating read. The main character had my heart aching but she is one strong and resilient being and you can’t help but fall in love with her. I must admit that the cover did nothing for me but the story won me over.
Next Door Knight was a good 4 star read and book two in the Man’s Best Friend series. This is Kerry and Caleb’s story.
Kerry has her father living with her temporarily while he heals from two broken legs. When her dog runs off she ends up meeting her new neighbor Caleb who happened to find Willow.
Caleb is currently on medical leave from the air force and is having a hard time coping with things. When Kerry asks him to sit with her dad while she is at work he agrees. Willow is starting to grow on Caleb. He suffered a loss during the ambush he was in and being around Willow is giving him comfort.
I really loved Willow, she made me think about my fur babies. And when Kerry would take her to visit the veterans it really tugged at my heart strings, such great therapy. I really enjoyed this read and had so many different emotions while reading. Willow brings these two together to help them heal and find love. Can these two have a HEA?

Wow! I couldn’t imagine living a life so chaotic. To always be on the move. Marla is a terrible parent she didn’t do her best to care for her child. Veloura had so much stacked against her. I was really sad reading this story and couldn’t stop thinking that this could actually be someone’s life right now. It’s scary and truly sad that parents can’t chose their children over others. The author played us by writing this story this way. I wasn’t expecting hearts and flowers. But I definitely wasn’t expecting so much pain, confusion and betrayal. Being a teen is hard enough. I really couldn’t put the story away because the author wrote it to keep you wanting to know what would happen next. You needed to know how these characters lives would turn out.

The Werewolf Queen (Wheel of Crowns Book 1), by Brandi Elledge, is a romantic fantasy novel. This novel/series by Brandi Elledge was exquisite. An amazing cast of characters set the stage for this amazing story. Sadie was a strong character, from her personality to her friendships to her sense of right & wrong. I instantly loved her and was rooting for her throughout the story. Adding in the supporting characters and the chain of events that unfold were original, intriguing and magnificent. One of the best first book/series starters that I have recently read. Brandi Elledge is imaginative and has a remarkable creation of all the individual characters along with the story development. I cannot wait to delve into the next book(s) of the series to see what comes next and the additional personalities that are introduced!

The Werewolf Queen (Wheel of Crowns #1) by Brandi Elledge was interesting, unique and original, it kept my attention and turning the pages.
Okay I’m going to be real with you, this book is different, good different from a plot stand point. It fresh and very intriguing. The wording building is detail and the authors paints a wonderful picture, making you feel connected and there. Now here were I’m going to have to get a little, not so nice…. The MC, was, a little annoying, and I didn’t like the trying to be funny all the time trope, it made for weird reading, the dialogue choppy, and it also was hard to get into a serious scene.
I love the different take on the supernatural world, I always love seeing how an author will reshape what has already been done, to create something new and wonderful. The journey was pretty neat, I love the key plot, and how it was used to grow our MC and her powers. As for the male love interest, CG, well, he was okay, but I felt like I read about him before. I wish his character had more depth, and wasn’t just a carbon copy of the typical alpha male. Like, he wasn’t bad, just.. meh.
Overall this story was fast moving, with an evolving plot and epic magical creatures. This book gets my high recommendation and my stamp of approval. I can’t wait to read the next book!

I do recommend that if you haven’t already read the first two books that you do as it will give you a better enjoyment of the characters. I found myself drawn in from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down till the last page.Kitty is a woman who is strong and independent yet she finds herself in The Green Room after falling and smashing her head. She finds some new friends and gains experience in this room.Kitty has a wish of reconnecting with the love of her life. Does she succeed? This story had me laughing one minute to feeling alittle emotional at others. Find out what happens next. I had a hard time putting it down once I started reading I had to know what happens next. I do recommend that if you haven’t already read the first book in this series that you, so you can get a better understanding of what is going on. I have read this series from the beginning and it just keeps getting better. This is the third book of the Green Room series. I fell back in love with these characters. This talented author’s writing style makes you feel like you are also one of the characters in the book. I was so excited to read this I stopped everything and started it when I got it. I was so hooked on this story I read it in only one sitting.
Kitty Eatin is married to the love of her life. She is taking some pole dancing lessons for him but she never thought it would cause her death. Kitty finds herself in the green room. She is so upset that she had to leave earth. Kitty doesn’t know what to do until she meet the ladies of the green room. She quickly becomes friends with these woman. Kitty misses her husband so much she wants to find a way to have one more night with him. When she finds out that it is possible she will do anything to make it happen. I was very excited to read A Person Could Disappear. It started off great! But as the story progressed I found myself skipping ahead as the characters seemed to go off on tangents. Some of it may have been necessary but it threw the story off for me. I wanted to get the interaction between the characters. It has a good story line and the characters are interesting. It should have a trigger warning and some scenes were hard to read.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and I loved it. There were vampires, witches, demons and werewolves. There were mind-readers, healers and psychics. There were hot sexy men and a kick ass female lead, what’s not to love?
Sadie grew up in a town full of witches. Everyone had powers except her. On her 18 th birthday, everything changed. She came into her powers and all of a sudden, demons are trying to kill her. She always wanted powers, now every supernatural wants her dead because of them. Flirting with the Vampire Prince and lusting after the Werewolf King and trying not to get killed by his psycho witch fiancée and the Demon King, Sadie is quite busy. All the while she needs to find some lost keys and save the world. Not too much to ask of a girl who’s trying to graduate high school, right? She makes some new friends and heads on a crazy adventure.
This is an original, action packed story filled with amazing characters, unlikely allies and a bit of romance. Some of their antics had me laughing out loud. I loved this book and can’t wait to read more about their adventures.

Rewind is the debut novel by Rowan Shaw. This M/M romance was something a little different then I have read before. Rowan’s writing was so truthful and emotional that I wanted to fight alongside these characters.
We all know there are still people in the world that don’t understand the LGBT community or the hearing imparted but they need to learn to shut their mouths about things they don’t understand. But this book is more than that, it about LOVE. LOVE is LOVE no matter what or who you are. Love is also more than hearing or being deaf.
Florian and Enzo are two men looking for a second chance at love and this was a beautiful journey of that love. It broke my heart to read what happened to this couple while they were still in High School. And how their own family treated them, is something no children should have to go through. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I absolutely love finding new book series and authors. I was not disappointed by this book. I really found the author’s writing style to be quite refreshing and entertaining.The characters just really seem to jump off the pages and come to life.
I found myself really drawn to Sadie. The way that fate plays a part in her life really just makes the reader rout for her. I was really drawn to the chemistry between her and CG. I also liked how the author threw in some twists in the beginning of their relationship as it starts out. I really found myself on the edge of my seat as I read this book to see what would happen next. I will definitely be reading more from this author and this series.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift combines the first two books in the Silent Secrets Series by Lisette Kristensen. It is a brilliant, fast paced, and action packed story that packs quite a punch for such a small package. This is a very quick and easy read, but that doesn’t mean that it is lacking in content- quite the opposite in fact. There is quite a lot going on, and the story easily held my attention, drawing me in further and further as the story progressed. There is plenty of suspense, drama, intrigue, espionage, the mafia, danger, violence, and lots of ‘steam’. This book shows us how “Blackbird” came to be. Sloane Romano is a mafia princess, the daughter of the Boss, she’s living a privileged life. But all that changes in an instant, when her husband is picked up by the authorities and starts ‘singing’ like a canary. This puts her in the same category as her husband, in the ‘family’s’ eyes- a traitor, with a target on her back. She’s forced to flee- but where to go and more importantly who can she trust. This is where Bettino enters the story- a friend from her school days, he’s her only hope of escaping. But will trusting him prove to be a fatal mistake? She’s no longer content being a dutiful daughter, and wife- stuck in a lonely, loveless and passionless marriage. Or having a target on her back. At the age of 32, she was finally going to live life on her terms. Her ‘adventure’ begins, and she soon finds herself on a journey of discovery- one that brings self-discovery, sexual discovery/awakening, discovering a new ‘way’ of life, finding her steeliness and embracing her strength, as well as learning deadly new skills. As I was reading the book, Sloane reminded me a bit of Ziva David, from the television series NCIS. And, I also think this book/series would make a great television series, too.

This is the second book in this author’s series, I loved it just as much as the first. PJ doesn’t want much in life just to be loved, protected, feel fulfilled by her detective and reporting work. But when she finds out the true about her husband’s death, will it put her danger in more than one way? There are alot of great characters and supportive to PJ who still remains my favorite. They bring the story to life and kept me reading until the last page. A must read book and series.

I was pulled in right from the beginning. Sloane’s character is well written, connectable and strong. She finds herself spinning out of control when she turns to the one man that can help her. Failure is not an option for her. She brought the story to life for me, I highly recommend reading her story.

Abandoned by Love by Aleya Michelle is the first book in the Shattered Hearts duet. This is a book that will fully engage every single one of your emotions. For me this whole book is made by the characters. Yes there is a story but everything about it, the emotions, the angst, is because of them. They consumed every part of the reading experience for me and I felt like I was taking the journey with them. This is the first book I have read by this author and I have to say I love the way she has clearly crafter her characters and the story to fit them. The pace was fantastic and consistent throughout. I am very much looking forward to book 2!

Hawke is the first book in The Men of Syn Series by Anise Storm. This is my first read by Ms. Storm, so I really didn’t know what to expect going in. The blurb and cover intrigued me enough to want to read the book, so I took a chance and dove in. I am really happy that I did, because it is a really great romantic suspense- with an intense erotic element to it. The BDSM scenes are more ‘hardcore’ than you normally find in a romantic suspense- but the story isn’t ‘dark’ enough for me to categorize it as a ‘dark’ romance either. But be warned, there is some blood, references to self-harm, and horrific abuse… as well as lots of pain. The suspense part of the story is really well done, with plenty of danger and intrigue. But there is also an underlying story of seeking redemption, and ending torment. Charlotte Maxwell is the owner of Platinum Dreams, an up and coming party planning business. She’s worked hard to make her business the success that it is- earning her the reputation as one of the best party planners that Denver has to offer. A year earlier she had decided to explore her submissive desires, with mortifying results. Now she finds herself at an appointment with a new client- only to discover that he’s the Dom behind her humiliating experience. But with a deranged killer right under their noses, and his sights set firmly on Charlotte, things are set to get quite intense. What happens next makes for an exciting read. Charlotte is a great character I liked her a lot- she’s smart, beautiful, independent, and stubborn. She isn’t without some issues and insecurities, and that plays a part in the story. Nathaniel (Hawke) Hawkins is an intense, haunted character who has so much self-loathing. He’s broken and stuck in the past. I understand why he is the way he is, and I really feel for what he had been through. No one should ever have to experience what he endured. But he also frustrated me with his mixed messages, and all the push-pull- it drove me a little crazy. The story is told from several POV’s- Charlotte’s, Hawke’s, and the serial killer’s- which builds a really great picture of what’s happening. There are some memories/flashbacks too, which helps to fill in all the backstory. I am looking forward to book #2.

This is the third novel of the story and it is highly recommend you read them in order it won’t feel complete or have the proper build up if you don’t. Operation Boyfriend by Molly Zenk is a great new adult book that is well written with engaging characters. This is the type of book that you can easily lose yourself in for an afternoon as you fly through the bool quickly and easily. I always enjoy this type of story as it is exactly what I like from reading in general. It allowed me to switch my brain off for a few hours and to just sink into a story that is interesting. I found the characters to be really relatable, it was so easy to imagine yourself in their situation. The story flows well on this book. It has a great pace about it and the writing is strong and consistent. I very much enjoyed this book and will be sure to check out more from this author in the future.

I was drawn into the characters plight from the beginning. Then the story took a left turn and I was like”Whoa” what is happening. To turn around begin again and it’s something else all together. This is not what I was expecting which is not all bad in a story. It definitely kept me on my toes and reading late into the night because I wanted to know what would happen next. It’s exciting, exhilarating, and easily kept my interest. This is a short book but there is no shortness on the action or suspense. Nice!

The Werewolf Queen is the first spellbinding instalment in the Wheel of Crowns Series by Brandi Elledge. WOW!!! What an amazing story!!! I was completely riveted from the very first page, so completely absorbed by the story, that I lost all sense of time and place. She is swept up on a quest to retrieve some very important keys, with the fate of the world resting in her hands- while meeting many new friends, and enemies, along the way. What part will the gorgeous, complicated, brooding, and protective werewolf play in this incredible story- you really must read the book to find out- you really won’t be disappointed!!! OMG! Where do I even begin to do this book the justice it deserves! It is so funny, emotive, exciting, fast-paced, intense, touching, romantic, and just plain incredible. The story is told from Sadie’s perspective, which I loved- but I really wanted to hear from Camden and would love to have had his perspective too. I love Sadie, she was a fantastic female lead- I was completely invested in her, Camden, and the outcome of the story. Sadie learns so much about herself, her family, her ‘powers’, and the world she thought she knew. I loved Granny- she is hilarious. Jo is such a great character, too- a perfect best friend for Sadie, and a wonderful addition to the story. I also loved Lil (Lilly-Ana)- she was a hoot. I wanted to adopt Kong and bring him home- I really felt for what he’d been through. But he really added an extra element of interest and imagination to the story. I can’t wait to read Jameson’s story, and Stephen’s story- but would also love to read Jo’s story, as well as Austin’s- hint, hint Ms. Elledge. Ms. Elledge is a gifted storyteller and excels at complex, vividly detailed world building- bringing the whole story to life, making it entirely realistic and believable. Truly masterful! Without a doubt, one of my favourite reads of the year!!

I really really liked how this started out. It looked like it was going to be a favorite book. The beginning was all excitement and started my mind moving. Who, what? And Why? But as the story moved forward all of that came crashing down. This is a story that mostly contains narrative and the characters go off on tangents about a multitude of things in the middle of a thought. It completely throws me off the story and I start to skip ahead. I want to get back to the story. I know some of that was needed but i also want to move forward. I am a dialogue person…I need more of that to keep me focused and interested in the story. The way the author made me feel like I was talking to myself or my best friend was done perfectly.
I really liked the prologue. Seriously if you normally skip it…don’t…just read it!
This is a first time author for me. The weaving of the tale was perfectly done. The story drew me in but at time struggled to keep me interested. The characters were difficult to care about. But that ending….not what I thought it would be at all. So the author did an amazing job in that respect. Glad I pushed through.

Garrett is the second book in the Dark Water Security Series by Madison Quinn. After reading Luke (Book #1), I was intrigued by the rest of the Dark Water Security team, so when this book released, I wanted to read it to find out what happens and discover more about Garrett, who was the ‘new guy’ on the team in book #1. This is a story of second chances, secrets, danger, suspense, some mystery, drama, threats, intrigue, chemistry, and steamy encounters. As I’ve mentioned, we met Garrett back in book #1- he’s an ex-marine and new to the DWS team. His new assignment working personal security for a Tech mogul requires him to live on site, something he isn’t too keen on. But what he doesn’t expect to find there is ‘the one who got away’ two and a half years ago. She disappeared from his bed after an unforgettable night of passion, leaving nothing but a memory. Now he’s determined to discover why. But what happens when danger comes calling? What happens when her secret is revealed? All these answers can be found by reading the intriguing details for yourself. I enjoyed this story more than the first book, but again I felt a little ‘let down’ by the ‘big reveal’- it was a bit of an anti-climax after such a great build up. The danger element was well done, but again I felt it needed to be more explosive/powerful to fit in with all the ‘lead-up’. But overall, it’s an enjoyable story. I am intrigued by what I will find in Book #3.

The story The Werewolf Queen (Wheel of Crowns Book 1) by Brandi Elledge is a wonderful fantasy book that I loved reading. It is a story that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until you have read the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Sadie and Jo. Sadie is a young girl who doesn’t have supernatural powers. She stands out from those in the town she lives in. Then things begin to change on her 18th birthday. Jo is Sadie’s BFF. I love the interactions and bantering that goes on between the two. Sadie is a psychic. Does she know something about Sadie that she is not saying? Things really kick into high gear when Sadie has to leave her best friend, family, and town. She is learning about her new powers and needs protection. What does the future hold for Sadie? Read this book to find out. This story has action, adventure, danger, and a bit of romance. It is a book that at times had me turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. I love books that include the supernatural and this is a wonderful example of why. The story keeps your interest all the way through. There are other additional characters that I enjoyed reading about. They each have their own part to play and many of them are a help to Sadie. Then there are those with their own agenda and plans. Will they be stopped? This is a book that you don’t want to miss out on reading. Highly recommended.

Janice is an interesting character. Her thoughts were chaotic. Sometimes during the read of would be so lost on what she was talking about. Inside her head is a place I never want to be. The wording was really different and made it a little hard to follow. There were some interesting parts throughout the story that did hold my attention. Her relationship with Daly for one was different and a little surprising. The author is new for me and I will have to give the next book a shot. Like it wasn’t my thing but it wasn’t bad. The plot was interesting because it’s a woman doing what we do best. Finding the answers to the craziest things. Janice was good at what she did even if done in a different way. While it is a story that is a bit shorter than some, the powerful impact of the characters and the storyline makes it a page turner. I was always wondering what was going to happen next. Sloane is a woman without a lot of options. Betrayal has entered her life. What does the future hold for her? Read this book to find out. I loved that Sloane is a strong female character. Raw and conflicted emotions are felt. Can Sloane trust the one man that she turns to? Don’t miss out on a story that will grab your attention from the very beginning and will not let go until the last page. Highly recommended.
