Shattered Love is a great debut novel by Nivia Borell. This romance read is so unbelievably heart-wrenching, emotional, frustrating, captivating and very intriguing. From the very beginning I was intrigued by Bria and Damien and their twisted and tumultuous history. Being able to read from the many POV’s along with past and present moments had me asking all kinds of questions and I couldn’t wait to get some answers and let me tell you this author did not disappoint!
I can’t wait to dive into Book 2 once released now that I’ve reached the end of this one as I still have so many questions that I can’t wait to get answers too! I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance read!

Surviving Grace (Surviving Series Book 5) by Virginia Wine
5-stars
Surviving Grace is another 5-star read by the incredibly talented author Virginia Wine! This novella is the fifth book in the Surviving Series, a series that cannot be read as a standalone as each new book closely follows the previous.
After reading the 4th book and being haunted by Grace’s story I couldn’t wait to dive into this one, and I was certainly not disappointed. I loved being able to follow Grace, she had so much courage and strength and really is unlike any other.
This is a series I would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for their next suspenseful romance reads!

I loved this book, my favorite in this series yet! It is full action, sitting on the edge of your seat suspense, steamy romance. Noah and Kady’s story is one that took me on an emotional roller coaster but I loved every page of it. They will show you that if love is meant to be, it will find its way back to you no matter where it took you in the first place. They have strong chemistry, I kept hoping they would get their HEA. You won’t regret picking up this book for sure, it is a must read!

Wish I had a Nickel by J.D. Boudreaux a four-star read that you can wish upon. This is the second novel in the Sand Dollar series I have enjoyed the first book in the series Penny for your thoughts and then this one and I can’t wait for the third. This one is about second chances romance and sadness, love and drama, the author has great descriptive ways you will feel like you are there with them know what’s on each corner of the town, the author has built the story over the two books and the third will be better I’m sure as they build on each other. Alex is a compelling story teller and he will make you listen.

I loved this book! This is a sweet book that has a little bit of everything in it from humor to romance. Fiona and Stu took me on an emotional journey of ups and downs and self-discovery. Their story is inspirational and shows us that sometimes love pops up when it’s least expected. Fiona has been made to feel ashamed of her weight issue but then you have Stu who gives her some hope. She is talked into entering a dance competition but wait to you see what happens! A must read!

An Improper Encounter by Erica Taylor a five-star read that is most certainly proper. This is the third novel in the Macalisters series, they can be read as stand alone but I have read them as a series and enjoyed them more as such. If you like the historical romance genre then you will enjoy this series. Sarah is definitely my favourite character in this series, she has so much thrown at her but still is a lady throughout. There were parts that dragged a little, bit overall at the end I was happy I had read it.

This story touched a place in my heart I try to keep locked away. No one wants to lose the person they love. But when you have no choice in the matter it makes it so much more heartbreaking. Alex is at a point in his life that he wants more but isn’t sure why he hasn’t taken the steps to get it. I honestly would love to meet a guy like Alex. He is a great character. Don’t get me wrong he is definitely flawed but he doesn’t pretend or put up airs about himself. I like that this is Alex’s story. We read so many books in the females PIC that when it’s a males it catches your attention. The author did a wonderful job with this book. The story was superfluous or exaggerated. When you read this book it almost read like a memory being told to someone. A sharing of a love never forgotten.

This takes vampires in a new direction. I really enjoyed this story. It was very refreshing to read a vampire story that wasn’t fluffy. There was something intriguing about the way Jon was turned. The author gave each character something unique. They weren’t just vampires but hybrids. Lawan had me in tears. I felt her anguish and relished in her revenge. Normally I cringe at some violence but not this time. I think it takes great skill to write a character that is strong but also fragile. To make them seem unbreakable but also relatable. TROUBLE’S WEDDING CAPER Familiar Legacy #8 by JEN TALTY
Four Stars
This story was so fun. I loved how the author put it in the cats POV. I was more interested in what the cat thought then the actual story. The plot was interesting especially the deal with the wedding items. Annabel was a super sweet lady who didn’t deserve the treatment she received from her ex. But we shouldn’t stick in a relationship when it’s not heading anywhere. I really had fun reading this story it was a quick read. I think stories like this are great for taking breaks from the normal genres I read. It gives me time to appreciate the authors. Ethan is clueless though. How did he not notice? The author’s writing style flowed nicely so you didn’t have any moments that had you guessing. I like stories that are easy to follow. Reviewed by @gguerrero89
Wish i Had a Nickel is book two in the Sand dollar series by JD Boudreaux. It is a tale of friends to lovers that was full of drama and feelings. This author brings the characters to life in a very clever and enthralling way.
Alex and Leigh were joined at the hip until separated by miles. They finally reunite, and begin on a journey of rediscovery and capturing back the connection they had so long ago. This story happened fast. So rast, I wasn’t ready for the finish. Each character is highly detailed, leaving no questions about who they are and what they want. Learning about them was exciting and breathtaking. The connection Alex and Leigh shared was riveting and certainly kept me glued to every word. I absorbed all that they felt, all that they wanted, all that they could give each other. It is always bittersweet when the end of such quality stories comes before you are aware it is happening. So engrossed with their story, it comes out of nowhere. What an experience it was to read Wish I Had a Nickel. I cannot wait for the next story in the Sand dollar series. 4 stars.

Bound is book two in the Torzial Affair series by Via Mari. The story of Jenny and Brian continues in this action filled, dramatic saga. This style of writing is very addictive and I found it quite hard to get anything done, other than to keep reading!
There is always so much going on in a Via Mari novel, but not too much that it is hard to keep up with the story. The plot is easy to follow, but also intensely mysterious. Many twists make this story unputdownable. It had a way of creeping past your defences and captivating you until you are at the last word of the book. A total escape from reality. Bound is a tale to immerse yourself into with wild abandon. Ever the entertainer, always pages upon pages of intrigue. 4 stars.

Shattered Love: Book one of the “Forever us” series by Nivia Borell is a contemporary romance story that is a very raw and extremely emotional read. This story provoked so many feelings in me and I am not sure how I feel about it. It is a story of young love destroyed by one night. A night that was not at all what it seemed. A night that destroyed two people beyond repair. I was so angry at times and my heart was breaking. The pain is palpable, hearts are shattered, anger is ripe, lies and deceit are finally discovered but is it too late? The story is told from several POVs, which gives an inside look at the emotions and feelings of the characters and makes the story more interesting even though I didn’t quite connect with these characters.
Bria no recollection of events but everything points to betrayal. Betrayal that has literally caused her heart to break and her mind to splinter. She has broken heart syndrome and has become emotionally shut down and numb. All the players believe they have been brought together to celebrate her birthday but for her it is something entirely different.
Damien will never let love in to his life again. Betrayal runs to deep. The anger he holds keeps feeling anything else at bay but the words he finds can only destroy. When secrets and lies are finally revealed can he finally find the peace he needs to heal the one thing he still loves?
I am interested to see what the next book in the series brings.
Dancing Queen by Charlotte Roth is a little different, easy to read and a little quirky that makes for a light read. It is fun and witty and had me laughing from the very start but there are also a lot of painful memories for our characters which made them all the more endearing to me. It is a story where by people are forced to look at themselves. It’s a story of people who finally do something for themselves. It is a story of pain and passion of being to fat or too thin. It is a story where the main characters are not what society consider the norm. It is a story of it is not always what you see on the outside but what is inside. It is a story of love and acceptance, hopes and dreams.
It is a sweet and heartfelt journey that the characters are on, with the support of their misfit family and friends.
Black Bullet (The Order of the Senary #2) by L.D. Rose is a must read dark paranormal romance that will have you on the edge of your seat. There is lots of action and horror, bloodshed and gore, mayhem and angst. This journey will have you captivated as we traverse the dark and twisted world that has turned upside down and left broken and tortured beings that you can’t help but love.
Jonathan James Kerr, a US Marine is dead but Jon, is undead, a hybrid with a soul and living with a monster in him. He and his family, his brothers of sorts are trying to rid the world of the vile creatures that are causing death and destruction. Jon has stumbled upon one thing that the world didn’t know existed and one thing his brothers thought long dead. One thing that may be just what he needs.
The is a dark and gripping tale that you do not want to miss. I can not wait for the next one.

The story Dancing Queen by Charlotte Roth is an amazing book that I loved reading. It is a story that will warm your heart and has inspirational characters. It is a book that drew me in from the very beginning and I found myself getting lost in its pages. I loved reading about Fiona. She is a woman who has always had a love of dancing. She is someone who is confronted with her “weight issues” by those in her workplace. Along with her co-worker Stu she is encouraged to attend a support group to help with “health” issues. Instead of taking a suggestion to try quilting, Fiona and Stu enter a dance competition. Read this story to find out what happens next! This is a story that will bring a smile to your face and at times have you laughing out loud. My emotions went up and down with the characters. There are heartbreaking and heartwarming moments in this book. There is both intense and humorous dialogue. Fiona is a character that I could really identify with how she felt judged about her weight. As I have personally struggled with my weight all of my life, she is someone that I could both empathize and sympathize with. Fiona is a character that I grew to love with each chapter that I read and I wanted her to feel happy with her life. This is a story that will hook you in from the very beginning and won’t let go until you have read the final page. Don’t miss out on a book with a wonderful story to tell and amazing characters. I would highly recommend reading it.

Bound is book two in the Torzial Affair series by Via Mari. I have to say if you are looking for a new favorite author look no further than Via Mari, you won’t be disappointed. I just love the characters of Jenny and Brian. We find Jenny is struggling after being raped, but with the lovely Brian there could be a light at the end of the dark tunnel Jenny find her life in. There is not a character in Bound that you aren’t going to like. Via has written this book as well as the first and there is no way I am going to say which one is better. The characters seem to bounce off each other which in my opinion makes for an awesome read. I do highly recommend you start with book one as it’s a brilliant way of getting background history. So, go get books one and two and settle in for two great books.

5-stars
Jenny is accused of murdering her ex and is thrown into a heated dispute between mafia groups. This novel picks up right where book one ended and continues the story. I felt that this second book had more detail and action in it than the first book. The characters still moved around a lot but due to the circumstances with Jenny, it was understandable. I felt that Jenny and Brian’s characters were given more depth. I also liked having more background on Matt who was originally assigned to protect Jenny by Chase. I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to reading more in this series.

An Improper Encounter was a good 4 star read and book three in The Macalisters series.
Sarah is a widow who is looking for a man to warm her bed. She was challenged by Lady Lydia Hartford, her widowed sister-in-law. They had a reward on the line. The winner is free from anything Radcliff for six whole months.
This is how she meets William. William is on his way to London when he stopped for the night. Intrigued by Sarah, he went along with her little game. These two end up traveling together and start to fall in love. Sarah is finally starting to feel happy again. When William disappears and reappears as a Duke with a pregnant wife, things change drastically.
Is he really married and if so why? Can Sarah and William figure things out and have a HEA?
Overall this was a fun read, I had some LOL moments with the bantering between them. The secondary characters were good, I liked seeing some of the other characters from previous books in the series. You can read this as a stand alone, however it’s best to start with book one. Erica Taylor does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing. I would like to see more from these two since it felt like it ended quickly, we do get a HEA which I was happy with. 1-click and get started today.

SHATTERED LOVE is the first book in the “Forever Us” trilogy. I’m super hopeful that the entire series is already written so I can have (almost) instant gratification and know how the series ends.
There is a sophistication with this book. I’m not sure if it’s the way it’s written (different points of view, past and present telling) or if it’s because some of the dialogue is more of a monologue with depth and weight that make it more than a thought.
There are PARAGRAPHS that I have highlighted because they were powerful statements of life that I wanted to go back to and reread. This is ONE LINE in one of those paragraphs … “Alcohol and lies are the delicate lines of life and sustenance.”
There are times that I thought “enough already, we get it” but not often enough to stop me from reading further.
I am absolutely adding the next 2 books to my TBR list.
Rules of Engagement: A Single Dad Romance by Mika Jolie Four Stars
Rules of Engagement: A Single Dad Romance is the third book in the Platonically Complicated series by Mika Jolie. This book can be read as a standalone, as this is the first book in this series that I have read and had no trouble following the story line. I have read a bunch of stories by Ms. Jolie, and am definitely going back to read the first two books in this series. Lucas and Kate’s story is full of humor, and some extremely hot chemistry. This story is written in Lucas’s point of view, and had me laughing out loud throughout. It is fast paced and engaging and kept me reading long into the night. It is totally worth the lack of sleep. If you are looking fun, sexy romance, this is the book for you.

Caught in Make-Believe is the next mind blowing instalment in Sharleen Scott’s The Caught Series! I hope it is not going to be the last one as there are quite a few other characters there that I am sure I am not the only one who would like to get their own story! You could read this story as a standalone though you would get so much more out of it having read the first two stories in the series as you will understand the dynamics better. Sharleen has given us a mix of romance, suspense, mystery, second chances, action and …. love. There are such intricacies and layers that sometimes when you try to figure out who when and what you realize that you should just sit back and enjoy the ride that Samantha Dylan and Jace Colton are taking us on! Samantha runs the town’s bakery and is friends with Masterson family (that we met in the first and second book) and who has decided to take a break from romantic relationships after another one of hers tanks. Jace has been ‘on the road’ for the last five years and has return to the town to face his past – “Pistols or swords at dawn” type of showdown. He knows his stay would be temporary but you never know what will happen when the fate interferes in the form of busted pipes and literary aspirations! I hope you will pick up a copy and disappear into the small town Oregon with all those intriguing characters so you can find out if Samantha and Jace will find their happily ever after!

CLAIMED ROYALTY is the first in the new Crowned and Claimed Series. This story has fantastic world building, strong character introductions and a story arch that was easy to follow along.
This is a really enjoyable read. It’s kind of like a historical romance set on a foreign planet in the future yet women still ride horses like “ladies” and they fight with knives and lasers. Oh, and the patriarchy still runs things whether it is the past or the future.
There are a few twists and turns along the way and lots of detailed conversations keep the story moving.
This is a well plotted series and I’m looking forward to reading book 2. I am definitely invested enough that I am adding it to my TBR pile.

Caught in Make-Believe is the third book in the Caught series by Sharleen Scott. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend that you read this series. In order. There are some recurring characters from the first two books and all of the books are great reads. I do think that this story is my new favorite by Ms. Scott. This book is full of action, suspense, mystery and romance. It grabbed my attention on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until I read the last. Jace and Samantha have great chemistry, but have many obstacles in their way. The twists and turns kept me guessing what was going to happen next throughout the whole book. I highly recommend this book, series and author and look forward to reading more from Ms. Scott in the future.

Surviving Grace is another incredible addition to this already captivating and epic series. But sadly, it’s the last in The Surviving Series, and May I say the best. This book has to be read as part of the series and not as a stand-alone, it flows brilliantly from the start and ties up all the characters from the previous books in this series, but to make it even better we get Grace’s story. This is a emotional read from the beginning and is expressed more with the poetry that’s in it. This is Grace’s story about finding yourself, learning to trust and to try and live her life again and get away from her past.
This book is brilliantly written, it has depth, it flows from chapter to chapter and brings us amazing characters and storyline. I’m so glad that I got to experience this series, with wonderful characters and amazing storylines. I cannot wait to see what else this author can bring us! I will eagerly be awaiting her next read!

Shattered Love, by Nivia Borell, is a contemporary romance that is touching, emotionally raw, and worthy of second chances. Nothing in life is easy, it requires work, effort, faith and trust. The combination of those and how we react to them determines the paths lives take and where they ultimately end up. In Shattered Love, Nivia Borell showcases a riveting story. It will take you on an emotional coaster with a mix of ups, downs and twists and turns. Bria and Damien lives change due to choices/circumstances that have occurred and how they each handled those varies. Something draws them together, it cannot be denied. The way the author moves these characters through the story is thoughtfully and tastefully done. I felt the emotional pulls of the characters along with the disappointments, joys, and more as they are experienced. A nicely written novel.

Black Bullet, by L.D. Rose, is the second installment in the Order of the Senary series. This is a paranormal romance that that is action packed with amazing characters, paranormal aspects and high adrenaline. The richness of danger was beautifully written and I loved the characters. From start to finish, the author keeps the reader fully involved in the story. Not only are there amazing main characters, but the L.D. Rose also has outstanding secondary characters waiting on the sidelines to shine on their own. Black Bullet has proven that L.D. Rose has created an amazing series that outshines others in this genre! Jonathan and Lawan were exquisite in their own rights, toss them together and this story explodes. This is a must read for any paranormal/romance lover!!

Rules of Engagement is the third book in the Platonically Complicated Series by Mika Jolie. This is a great single dad romance, with a best friends’ younger sister, and ‘friends to lovers ‘elements to it too. I have been loving this series, and it’s becoming harder to choose my favourite, as each book seems to slightly outdo the last. You don’t need to have read the other two books before starting on this one, but I recommend doing so because you will get to know the other characters and stories, which in my opinion, will help give you a better reading experience of this book. Lucas is a single dad focused on his daughter and his job as a hedge fund manager. Since his bitter divorce he’s earned a bit of a “playboy” reputation, and definitely isn’t interested in a relationship. But when his ex-wife decides to play dirty and seek full custody of their daughter, Lucas will have to do a bit of damage control, and whatever he can to project an image of a loving ‘family man’. And this is where his best friend’s beautiful younger sister comes into the picture. Katherine Morello owns a high end lingerie business and is also a part-time blogger. She’s not looking for a relationship, especially after her last one ended when her boyfriend cheated on her. Kate has known Lucas all her life, and secretly thinks he’s a catch- he’s sexy and intriguing, if not a little guarded. She gets along well with him and his cute little daughter Emma- so when he needs some help, she’s happy to lend a hand. The plan is to ‘fake’ their engagement long enough to thwart his ex. They devise a set of rules that will protect them, and their friendship. And so, the engagement begins. What happens makes for a really intriguing, funny, sexy and steamy read! Ms. Jolie has a beautiful, witty and descriptive style that really showed throughout this funny, emotional and completely captivating story. I was entirely engrossed from beginning to end. As with the other books, the characters all had such well thought out and developed personalities- they really were very endearing and had me totally invested in them and their story. The funny banter, quips, innuendos, and antics had me laughing out loud. As always, I also love the close-knit, supportive group of friends in this series- they are just wonderful. The story is told from Lucas’s point of view, which I loved- pulling off a male perspective isn’t such an easy thing to do, without it looking forced or fake- but Ms. Jolie has mastered the art and made it entirely realistic and believable. She also has a knack for infusing her stories with a large dose of Sizzle that never fails to fog up my reading glasses. I can’t wait for more from Ms. Jolie!

Caught in Make-Believe, by Sharleen Scott, is the third book of the Caught series. This romantic suspense was a well written novel featuring Jace Colton and Samantha Dylan. Two unlikely characters tossed together that work well with amazing chemistry. Each book within this series was better than its predecessor and Caught in Make-Believe is no different – best of the series! Sharleen Scott’s writing technique continues to improve along with that the amazing characters, sequences and stories! This author is one to watch and this is one of my favorite series this year!!

Rebel Heart by Clara Winters is the second hook in the sImmortal Kindred series. This time we ate given Annie’s story, one which is interesting enjoyable. Clara Winters weaves another great story that had you fully connected to the characters. I loved watching how everything played out in this book and how the story just kept developing. The story and the characters were as interesting as the first. The book has a little bit of everything so easily keeps your attention. I look forward to seeing what is next from this author.
