Untrainable A Romantic Comedy by Jamie Schlosser

Five Stars

I laughed a little too hard while reading this story. The author combined a serious issues with some comedic moments. People are judged by everything the do when they’re in the spot light. Even when they leave that life everything they do is watched. I really felt bad for Theo but another part of me felt like he was just whining. There were multiple solutions for his issue. I just think he was so use to playing that role that it was hard to change. Family ties are such a hard thing to maintain when you hold so much pain and anger inside you. I loved these characters though. Hadley was really sweet but I also want to say naïve. She took life too seriously. They balanced each other out in my opinion. Hadley was serious and Theo was a joke.

My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Untrainable by Jamie Schlosser was a fun, feel good read that had my eyes glued to the pages.

Not my first read by this author, so I already kind of had an idea of what I was getting into. I will tell you that I was not disappointed, this book has the same easy reading as the others and, once again I was pulled into a pretty fun story.

The only thing that I will say, is that, and I did mention this in a another review for this author, was how crazy good looking the MC’s are. I’m talking god like, perfection isn’t the word. For me it was a little too much and I would have like them looking more, you know, human. Flaws are good to have, it makes them more believable as real world characters.

Other then that, the overall story is super fun.. okay yes I said that like three times now, but when there’s something good, there are only few words that will get the point across. But in all seriousness, this story has a nice easy flow, smooth rhythm, comedic witty banter and, a couple you can’t help but root for. It’s that feel good book that makes you all warm and gooey on the inside.

With that being said, this is where I leave you, I’m not going to say anymore in fear of spoilers. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will fall for this crazy, cute couple, and all their shenanigans.

Happy Reading

It Ends Tonight (Bayou Devils MC series Book 4) by A.M. Myers – Review by Michelle Austin

It Ends Tonight (Bayou Devils MC Book 4)It Ends Tonight by A.M. Myers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It Ends Tonight was a great 5 star read and book 4 in the Bayou Devils MC series.

This is Lucas and Quinn’s story.
Both Lucas and Quinn have something from their past that changed their lives. As I got to know these two and their story I really liked both of them.

Lucas is a member of the Bayou Devils MC. Quinn is a single mom raising her daughter and running her own business, thankfully she has the help of her sister.
When fate brings them together things take an interesting twist. Can these two make things work? Can they have a HEA?

My emotions were all over the place with this read. We get love, heartbreak, anger and so much more. Lucas pulled me in instantly. Hot!! Quinn’s strength was great and she was a very determined woman. She was a great match for Lucas. I really liked the secondary characters and would love to see more from some of them. Overall this was a great story that pulled me right in, I was done reading before I knew it. I look forward to reading more from this series.

It Ends Tonight (Bayou Devils MC #4) by A.M. Myers
5 out of 5 stars

It Ends tonight is the fourth book in the Bayou Devils MC written by A.M. Myers and I have read all four books in this series and I loved them all. The storyline is believable and well written. The character are amazing with their quirky attitudes. The way they played off of each other was great.
Lucas’s life came crashing around him nineteen years ago. In the blink of an eye, his childhood was gone and he was forced to step up for his little brother, Clay. They are the only family each other has left and there isn’t anything Lucas won’t do to protect that bond.
Quinn Dawson knows a thing or two about loss and family. After her parents’ death when she was a child and the passing of her grandmother only a year before, her sister and daughter are all she has left and nothing is more important to her.
When a truck runs a red light, it brings Quinn and Lucas together and for the first time in his life, Lucas considers a whole new meaning of the word family but nothing is as simple as it seems.
Everything is going good until a chance meeting tears open old wounds and thrusts Quinn and Lucas into turmoil, bigger than either of them have ever known. Can they survive the scars of the past or will they both lose the only family they have left? Will they have a happily ever after?
This is an amazing love story with a few twists and surprises….

I have really enjoyed the Devil MC books. The author has done an excellent job putting these characters into this life. The author gives them purpose other than finding their old lady and saving the day. I’m having a hard time deciding which book is my favorite though. Quinn and Lucas are super adorable and then there is Brooklyn she is too cute. But the twist in this story was sad and painful. The hurdles they had to jump were too much. I don’t see how they will overcome them. This relationship will definitely take a lot of work. Loved the story though. I’m still waiting for my biker lol.

Untrainable by Jamie Schlosser
5 out of 5 stars

Ahhhh Jamie Schlosser! First, this author is almost always a 5 star author for me. She never fails to produce a fantastically written story with great detail, amazing characters and some strong chemistry.
Hadley and Theo are amazing characters. Their witty, easy going banter is super smooth, fast paced and effortless. Hadley is 22, smart, and doing all that she can to change where her life is going. An accountant by trade, but unprofessional dog-trainer by night, she has found herself in the unique circumstance of being one of the stars of a new reality TV show. One where she takes a washed up bad boy and try to correct his terrible, dog gone bad behavior.
Theo has the reputation of a bad boy of the worst sort. Not one where he rolls his way through all the bed sheets of every woman he has laid eyes on, but one where he is a bad attitude about everything and doesn’t care about what damage he leaves in his wake.
These two had chemistry both in and out of the sheets. This is a romance novel through and through with good helping of redemption thrown in there for good measure. Hadley and Theo make for two perfectly flawed characters who bring out the best in each other and with that, they help each other grow and become better.
I cannot recommend this book enough. The highest praise I can offer a book and an author is to re-read a book again, and this one is most assuredly on the re-read list.

4 out of 4 stars
Guilty pleasure is Volume 2 written by Joyce McCarthy is a collection of erotic short stories that explore lust, chance encounters, and fantasies come to life, they are like the literature version of adult movies you see on https://www.nu-bay.com/categories/134/blonde. This is my first read by this author and it was great. The stories were really well done, but too short. Since this book is short I really don’t want to give anything away so I will just say. We read about five different erotic encounters that are woven in this book. They are fast paced and are extremely quick reads.
So if you’re looking for a quick erotic read this is your book/series…

Guilty Pleasures Vol. 2 by Joyce McCarthy is a compilation of short, steamy, erotic stories. The stories are based on Brad, a college student, and his sexual adventures. Each story is with a different woman and different fantasy situation: teacher/student hook up, the sexy MILF next door, best friends mom, and more. The stories are very steamy and have very detailed scenes, which will have you fanning yourself or running to take a cold shower. This book is a great quick read in between long reads or when you are on a book hangover. I recommend this book and look forward to reading more from Joyce McCarthy.

It Ends Tonight (Bayou Devils MC Book 4)
By A.M. Myers

It Ends Tonight is book four in the Bayou Devils MC series by A.M. Myers. I have to say this one is now my favourite book in the series so far. This book brought out so many emotions in me, everything from smiles, laughter and tears. Lucas is a member of the MC tough on the outside and a teddy bear on the inside. Lucas’s main focus most of his life has been his brother, that is until the day he met Quinn. Quinn was involved in an accident and the only was Lucas could stay by her side on the way to the hospital was to say he was her husband. You see Quinn had begged him not to leave her side and there was no way he was going to let her down. From the time they met neither could stop thinking of each other and so their happy life was to start. Quinn had a beautiful baby girl, Brookes existence was due to Quinn being raped, but she could not love this baby any more if she tried. But the happiness stopped the day Quinn came face to face with her rapist. Lucas knew there was something Quinn wasn’t telling him and when he found out he was totally heart broken. But his heart would be broken even more when he found out more details of Quinn’s rape. I have to say Lucas is such a sweet character, he will definitely melt your heart. In fact, he is a perfect book boyfriend and I am sure some of us will wish we had a Lucas in our lives. This book to me is worth more than five stars. I also hope this is not the end of Quinn and Lucas’s story. So, my last words on this book is go grab this book it’s a must read

Hilariously addictive and romantic. I absolutely could not stop reading this novel. I loved both Theo and Hadley as they opened up to each other while creating a reality TV show. Reckless is group of four sexy and steamy stories by four different authors. This group of stories is hot. Each author puts their own spin of hotness into their story. The stories themselves are on the shorter side so they are easier to read. However, they are steamy, so I advise you to read in the privacy of your own home, not at work, or on the bus, or in the line at the grocery store. In your own home.

The Confectioner’s Coup (The Confectioner Chronicles Book 2) by Claire Luana – Review by Erin Davidson

The Confectioner's Coup (Confectioner Chronicles, #2)The Confectioner’s Coup by Claire Luana
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Confectioner’s Coup by Claire Luana is the delicious second book in her newest series, the Confectioner Chronicles. The plot thickens in the latest instalment as an army arrives at the gates of Maradis, and the Guilds are thrown into dismay as the King struggles to gain power over them once more. But the Guild members are tired of answering to a blood thirsty King and his demands for Gifted produce from them. With an army fast approaching and Gifted guild members going missing, Wren must join forces with unexpected allies to help save the missing members and stop the King tyranny once and for all.
If only Wren’s life could be a piece of cake, first she’s framed for a murder she didn’t commit and now the possibility of a rebellion and war. The girl needs a holiday, where she can enjoy her delicious baked goods. I really loved this second installment of the Confectioner Chronicles, Claire’s writing is phenomenal and captivating. She will have you hooked after the first line. All her characters are well developed and constructed, that you can see them as real people. And her descriptions of all the food in this story will have you drooling over your book. Every time I read a passage I immediately start craving baked goods and chocolates, then I have to put the book down and go out and get some. Thankfully I work in a cake shop and chocolate is never hard to come by. Absolutely loved this book and to see how the story continues to get bigger and bigger. I can’t wait to read the third book in the series.

It ends tonight by AM Myers is Bayou Devils MC Book four. I have to say that this was probably the best of the series thus far. It really grabbed your attention from the beginning. I loved Lucas from the beginning. He loves the club, he loves his brother and he loves to help out when he knows it’s right. He is so protective and just perfect. Quinn only has two people left, everyone else has already died. She’s made a great life for herself and now just struggles with letting her past go. With both of them having a crazy past and meeting by chance, it’s a great story to follow as they figure out each other. I loved this story and didn’t want it to end. A great read about family. Quinn is trying to put her losses behind her and raise her daughter. Lucas has been looking after his brother for so long he has stopped thinking about what he wants. When Quinn drives into his life, the past returns to haunt him. Can they put the past behind them for a new future?
A great read. Well developed plot. Well developed characters like Quinn keeping going despite it all or Lucas harsh exterior but kind underneath.
I loved the sense of family throughout the novel supporting each other through hard times. And the scenes with Lucas and Brooklyn were sweet to prove that family doesn’t have to be related.
The switch of perspectives on chapters was a great idea to show both sides of events but was sometimes hard to follow.
The only issue I would raise is that there were lots of long sentences that were hard to read and get into the novel which could be resolved with a vaiety of sentence lengths. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

If you are looking for something different and want to push your boundaries just a little then this is the box set for you. I was just lost in this series from book one. I found that the author has a real unique writing style that really handles the subject well. I quite found myself relating to the characters and finding that even though I would not actually delve into the type of world she has created that I still could enjoy reading about.

The characters really get endeared to the reader and their lifestyle isn’t brought in the readers face but slowly introduced. I find that you are able to really delve into the books and let your imagination run with you. I definitely recommend this series to delve into the fantasies that you are too afraid to really act out but love to read about. This was a short and extremely saucy read! Having read the first book in this series I knew to expect the way in which the author has chosen to set out these stories and so I wasn’t surprised by the very short chapters about one main character and differing secondary ones. It is hard to find a connection with the characters due to how short the book is but the author definitely does a great job at story telling in such short bursts and she is definitely good at writing sex scenes that aren’t too over the top!

A Second Chance by Brooke May (Power River Pack #1) – Review by Ashleigh Whitwell

A Second Chance (The Powder River Pack #1)A Second Chance by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Second Chance is the first instalment of the Power River Pack series. The perfect mix of romance and fantasy, this book, and series, follows a pack of werewolves as they deal with the struggles that come with them finding their mate. While I’m not normally a fantasy reader, there is something about werewolves that just appeals to me; I blame Twilight! This was a great read and I will definitely be diving into the rest of the series.

This book has a lot of angst and a lot of tragedy. From the very beginning, we learn that our werewolf, Derek, as not had an easy ride. Letting the love of his life go was the most foolish mistake of his life, one he’s still paying for now. Derek is so broken and we can see that from the very start. I loved learning about him and his complex character. But the best part of Derek is his relationship with Annabelle. They have such a difficult history and seeing them come to terms with this, and the people they are now, was so much fun to read. There is a lot of emotion in this read and some of the scenes Annabelle and Derek share are real tear-jerkers. Despite this, the passion and chemistry they have is immense. I loved seeing them together, especially when things go a little hot and steamy!

As far as werewolf reads go, this one is a winner. It has definitely sorted my fantasy need and has left me wanting to read the rest of the series. If this is your sort of genre, I can strongly recommend this. Thanks for a thoroughly satisfying read!

I enjoyed all the banter between them. It wasn’t stiff dialogue. Very smooth and easy to read. This book does touch on a subject that could be a trigger for some people. Human trafficking is a touchy subject. It was handled nicely here.

Souls Collide (Collides Series Book #3) By Kristina Beck – Review by Angela Hayes.

Souls Collide (Collide Series #3)Souls Collide by Kristina Beck
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Souls Collide is the third book in the Collide Series by Kristina Beck. I didn’t realise going into this book that it was the third in the series- having said that though, it can be read as a standalone- but there are characters who appear in this book who have obviously had their own book previously- and they are quite intriguing and likeable also, so I have decided to go back and read the first two books and get up to date with this wonderful cast of characters and their stories. This is also my first read by Ms. Beck, and colour me impressed! I love her witty, fun and flirty writing style- she pulled me into the story right from the first page and easily held my attention the whole way through. I am an insta-fan and will absolutely be stalking her ?, I mean following her work closely from now on!
Kent Hayes is a prickly, bitter and angry man. He carries his pain like an anvil around his shoulders, and pushes all, except the few closest to him, away. He hasn’t had a relationship in ages- as he wrote women off a long time ago. But his bad attitude and beastly manner are about to get a battering from a perky, bubbly little ray of sunshine who is able to inject some light back into his grey world. He’d really love to hate her, and really does try to do so, but finds that he just can’t fight her charm. He can’t help but be impressed that she doesn’t take his rubbish, instead she gives it right back. He may just have met his match!
Alexa Kramer has a great life- a successful job she loves, close family and good friends. She may be blonde and beautiful, but she’s far more than just a pretty face. She’s the whole package- smart, confident, independent, loyal, and generous- even if she tends to swear like a sailor. But her world is shaken when she literally collides with an incredibly HOT police officer. She’s immediately attracted, but he is so rude she’s left thinking he’s incredibly obnoxious. But still, there is something behind the prickly facade, and she really wants to be the one who gets close enough to figure it out. She also secretly loves the challenge he represents, as he’s the first man who doesn’t immediately fall at her feet. As they begin to cross paths fairly regularly, the frost between them begins to slowly thaw. But soon there are concerning developments when it appears that she has attracted a stalker. Will Kent’s protective nature kick in and keep her safe?
The story is a fantastic read- it’s sweet, sassy, suspenseful, humorous, dramatic, touching, romantic, emotive, fun, and unpredictable. It is really well written, with wonderful attention to detail and descriptive scene setting. Ms. Beck built the tension and suspense really well, and had my mind reeling with possible scenarios, trying to predict where the storyline was headed.
I can’t wait to go back and read the first two books now- and I look forward to seeing what Ms. Beck does next.

Thank you, Ms. Beck!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love Jamie Schlosser books and this one might be there on top as my favorite of hers. She has a way of hooking you from the very first page.

I loved Theo and Hadley. We meet Theo who has the worst name in show business and is currently trying to get back in. He grew up in a reality tv show and is still very much in the public eye. He has this idea and needs Hadley to help him out. Hadley is America’s sweetheart after being the runner up on a talent competition and wants to stay in show business. They both need each other but for different reasons.

The connection between the two characters is instantaneous but it works for them. I felt like they were both a bit lost in life (for different reasons). Not only was the book light and funny but it had a load of heart too. Miss Schlosser has a way of bringing these characters alive and launching them straight to your heart! I love all her books and this one is a definite must read!

Forgetting Ophelia: A Novel by Julie C. Gardner – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Forgetting Ophelia: A Novel (Friendship & Secrets, #2)Forgetting Ophelia: A Novel by Julie C. Gardner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forgetting Ophelia is a wonderful novel by Julie C. Gardner. It tells the story of Lia, a young woman whose life is turned upside down by a series of sudden and unexpected events.
I really liked that, although there is romance in the book, the focus is much more on a variety of relationships including friendships and parent/child relationships. With a fairly large cast of characters, we get so many different relationships explored. It’s fascinating, and often moving.
Forgetting Ophelia is about change. As she rebuilds her life, Lia decides what to keep and what to let go of, how to stay the same and how to move on. This makes for a very uplifting read!
As a teacher, I particularly enjoyed reading about how great Lia is with her pupils! Although most of the story takes place away from the classroom, her support and care for each of her pupils contributes to making her a loveable character.
Gardner makes it easy for the reader to keep up with the large cast of characters by bringing them up in relation to their context and reminding us of how they relate to Lia. I found the characters really interesting and varied. I particularly liked Caleb, who is very observant and only speaks when he feels he has something worth saying.
For me, this is a five star read. I’d recommend it to fans of writers such as Cecelia Ahern and anyone who feels trapped in their life.

Degrees of Power by Via Mari a five-star read that you will feel the power coming from. This is the forth novel in the Prestian series, this has been my favourite of the whole series, they just seem to go from strength to strength and become more powerful with each read, I suppose it could be as you grow more of a relationship with the characters and get to understand the story on a much deeper level. You also get to know the author’s writing and the way she works her writing, evolving the main characters and bringing them to life. Katarina and Chase have some powerful chemistry and you need to read their story and follow the ups and downs, the challenges they face, watch them get the balance and story they deserve in this great novel.

This is a compilation of short stories. It is only forty eight pages therefore a really quick read but totally worth it. The stories follow Brad on his sexcapades including situations with a MILF, his teacher and next door neighbour. Some people would consider some of these taboo but they are erotic fantasies which make them more enjoyable. If you are looking for something that will get you hot and bothered with your pulse racing, this is the book for you.

I was hooked right from the get go, wasn’t able to set it down until I reached the end. It’s one of those novels that while your reading it you can visualize everything and feel what the characters are going through. It was written so beautifully!! This story really is memorable and I can’t wait to read more from A.M.Myers who is such a talented author!!

Hope’s Deceit by Angela McPherson – Review by Amanda Pierce

Hope's Deceit (The Fated #2)Hope’s Deceit by Angela McPherson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hope’s Deceit by Angela McPherson is book 2 in the Fated series. This author did it again. I started reading this book today and finished today, it had me on the edge of my seat from page 1. In the deciding book, our characters stories start to come full circle and we see a lot of questions answered from the first book. I can’t wait to see where this author takes this series next. I will definitely continue to not only read this series, but this author as well.
