Bound by Blood is Book 3 In the Crescent City Wolf Pack Series from author Carrie Pulkinen. This is my third read from this author and yet she still continues to surprise me with how brilliant each book is and how she captivates me even more with each book in this series. I can’t wait to see what else she brings to this series. While these books are written as part of a series, you can easily read these as stand-alone but I highly recommend that you read in order just for you to enjoy this incredible world this author has created.
This book was action packed, mysterious, suspenseful, fast-paced and thrilling, it has romance, passion & sexiness. This is an amazing read that hooks you in from the beginning and brings you on this amazing rollercoaster of a ride with some incredible characters. We are given twists and turns throughout that keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what could happen next.
In this read Alexis & Bryce are our main characters in this read, and while we follow them on their journey we also get introduced to new and existing characters. From first meeting Alexis & Bryce in Book 1 I couldn’t wait for them to finally get their own back story. These two had sparks flying from the start – after reading Alexis backstory you can understand more of reasons of why she is that way. But finally seeing Bryce & Alexis get a story together they both take a journey in this read that is needed for the both of them!. With a couple of twists and turns this once again makes for an incredible read for any lover of the Paranormal Romance genre.
This book should not be missed – either shall it’s series! Don’t miss this one!

This is one of those books that when you first read the blurb you are a little unsure about but once you are finished you are so glad that you read it. I will admit the front cover didn’t catch my eye so this definitely falls in to the ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ category. The story was a little different to what I normally read but a change is good sometimes. I thought that the author created a really exciting and mysterious world in this story, through her excellent descriptive language I felt like I was right there amongst the characters. I loved that I couldn’t guess what was going to happen and the author kept me guessing right until the very end. The author made me feel like I was part of the story as I was so immersed in trying to find out who did it! If you love a good murder mystery full of suspense and exciting moments then I would absolutely recommend ‘Tomb for an Eagle’ – I don’t think that you will be disappointed!

This book is so enjoyable. I loved it! I picked this up because with that title how could it not be a wickedly good read. Turns out Frank has not much of a filter. He is brash and basically says what he thinks regardless of who it’s too. Male, female, boss or friend…he holds nothing back. He is known for being a grump and never smiling or laughing plus he has no boundaries. So when he meets his doppelgänger but as a woman. Well his life is about to change.
I love the secondary characters especially Joe. His best friend. He teases him mercilessly….and I even laughed and made the “OH” face a few times with the things he said. He also is there when he needs him and gives him good advice. Lia is another who comes up with the whackiest things to irritate her bestie, Frankenburger or Frank and Beans or any other name she can think of. As well as her Swear Words! OMG! I love it! Such a great idea to make her memorable! When all the friends get together it’s funny but when they try “roast”Frank in front of his girl….hilarious!
This is a good solid book that even had me worrying about Frank a few times. It’s actually a fun read and the time sped by fairly quickly. I enjoy how Frank is telling the story but at times also talking to the reader. The characters were all Whack-a-Doodles but that’s what made me like them. Each is quirky in their own way. This is the first in the series and I can’t help but wonder about Joe….is he next???

Ahhh this book!!! I have spent ages trying to decide what to give it as star rating it has me all tied up – on one hand I was totally captivated by it, it was exciting, unpredictable, full of angst but that ending! Oh my gosh what is this author trying to do to me! This really was a brilliantly written story; I honestly could not put it down. The author has this amazing way of grabbing your attention straight away and not letting you out until the end, I was so immersed in the story that I didn’t see the twists and turns coming at all. I think that this is one of those books that whatever I say will not do the book justice – it has to be read to be understood just how fantastic a read it was. This book should definitely be one-clicked today!!! After reading two books by this author I cannot wait to read more from her again in the future.

A great read about staying. Alexis Gentry has never stayed in one place for long, a rogue werewolf always on her own. Bryce Samuels is a policeman who has always found Alexis attractive, but never got the chance. When she gets into trouble with a werewolf exboyfriend, she ends up in hospital. Wanting to help her, Bryce looks after her and lets her stay at his house even thought she is reluctant. Will she run in fear of getting hurt or will she stay? A great read. Well developed plot. Well developed characters like Bryce helping people with kind nature underneath harsh personality or Alexis standing up for herself but also struggling with her fears. a great addition to the trilogy from a different perspective. also brilliant with the theme of how sometimes not all mental battles can be won, both in Alexis and also in the suicide rescue department which was perfectly written. I also loved the visual detail throughout the novel with the woods and the moon full of spooky natural imagery that was also calming and beautiful to add to the supernatural elements of the novel. i also loved the feel of the small town with its little cafes and cobbled streets to add to the sense of magic and mystery which was beautifully written. Or the scenes at the wedding full of people and life and colour with the dresses but also crowded nature for Alexis which was perfectly done. and the use of the senses throughout the novel with scents and tastes as if you were actualy there. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Well this was another delightful and fun addition to The Confectioner Chronicles. This is actually a prequel novella, so reads like one and is a quick light read. I devoured it in one short sitting. The first book, ‘The Confectioner’s Guild’, which I ADORED, featured our main character, Hale in this one. I really enjoyed the fact that we got the backstory of him. Hale has it all, literally. Good looks, riches, the family hierarchy. However, it isn’t all it seems under the surface. Especially when something happens and it is all ripped away from him. Now he is on the run and forced to fend for himself. He has never had to do this before, so imagine the difficulty and the story lines this makes for. Can he survive on his own? I am dying to get my hands on the next book, ‘The Confectioner’s Truth.’ I will just be over her salivating… Thanks for another great read Claire Luana!

This is a perfect story! I have read one of the others in the series and it intrigued me. Wondering how it all got started. This book answers my questions. It is short and sweet but gives me everything I needed. The characters in here have such spirit. I enjoy not only their names but what they bring to the story. It almost seems magical. What a great series! Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set is by K.L. Montgomery and features the first three books in the series. You don’t want to miss out! The entire series features women who aren’t so confident with themselves and their bodies. But by the end most of them find that confidence and find love with really hot men! First book is Fat Girl. This book is about a woman who finds herself divorced after years of marriage as well as a single mother. This one isn’t much of a romantic book as it is one where the main characters finds herself and really falls in love with herself. This was a great “awakening” book for someone who just isn’t happy with their life at the moment. The second book is The Flip. This book is about a woman who is a true rocket scientist! She finds herself flipping a house with her childhood arch enemy. While doing so she finds who she really is and what she really wants to do with her life. The best part is she ends up falling in love with said arch enemy. This is a really cute and quirky story that I fell in love with! The third book in this set is Plot Twist. The woman in this book is a shy high school teacher. However, when she sings she forgets how shy she really is and has a powerhouse voice. The male lead in this book is an actor on the side and of course is very handsome. Both decided to try out for a community play at the same center that the male lead from book 2 opened. This was so much fun to read! I absolutely adore this series and have read all the books! I cannot wait to read what Ms. Montgomery has up her sleeve next!

My Tragic Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel is book two in the My Life series by Necie Navone. It continues as the Princess grows a little older, a little tougher, and way too fast. Her strength cannot be measured, and her steely determination for change and individuality is paramount. She has seen things not many people should see at such a young age, and while it would destroy most, it just gives the Princess more conviction to do it her way, and in her time. She goes about her business in a controlled and calm manner, surprising many and impressing all.
The further into this series I delve, the more I enjoy the story and its characters. I really connect with the way this author displays the suspense, the plot twists, and how each character grows and develops. This is one hugely addictive series, and I cannot wait for more. 5 stars

Most Have Faith is the second book in the Darling Cove series by Deborah Garland. I have to say this series gets better and better. This story hooked me from the very first page, I just couldn’t put it down. Greg Mallory is a cop in the Darling Cove, struggling to put his life back together after his fiancée left him at the altar ten years before. Faith is the woman who left Greg behind, without a word and now she is moving back to town. This second chance romance had my emotions going all over the place, laughing one minute and wanting to throw my tablet across the room at the next. The chemistry is off the charts and both of them want to deny that they still have feelings for each other. This is a must read book and series by Ms. Garland. I can’t wait to read what she has in store for us with Skye’s story.

Neverland is a dark and twisted thriller by Melissa Jane. This is my second book by this author and I am glad I had the opportunity to read this book. I really like the writing style of this author, she gives you everything you could want in a book. This book also deals with some issues from racial and bullying in all forms that we deal with today. So please be aware of this before you start reading it. I don’t read many of this type of story, but I have to say that while its dark and twisted I really did enjoy it. Neverland deals with the life of Lucy who is a beautiful girl with a heart of gold, yet she doesn’t have the perfect life with her family. Her father is an abusive and yet her mother stays and puts up with his treatment. Wanted to grab this woman and save her from him and herself. So, if you want to escape into a world of darkness and suspense this is the book for you.

Alessandra wants to be a normal teenager, but her family’s life style is not allowing this for her. My Hidden Life is told from different points of views which keeps the story interesting and has you wanting to know what is on the next page. So, if you want an action-packed book, that also contains suspense and drama then I have to say this is the book for you, and a book you will enjoy from the first page to the last.

This is the second book in the series and I liked it just as much as I liked the first book. I love second chance book and knowing this was and old love made it all the more sweeter. This book can be read as a stand-alone but I highly suggest reading them in order to get the best reading experience because they’re both great books. Greg Mallory was left standing at the alter years ago with no explaining as to why his bride ran away. This is the second book in the “Brothers of Camelot Prequel” and it is NOT a stand-alone. Book 1 MY HIDDEN LIFE should absolutely be read first.
This is book two in the Prequel Trilogy. It’s an interesting way to publish a prequel, using three books to tell this amazing story instead of just one. Part two is where we get to see Alessandra grow from a young princess to a beautiful young woman. Her talent for quick shooting and quicker wit helps move the story along at a good pace.
This book was more emotional than I anticipated. A couple of times it took my breath away and I had to pause to breath, just like she did.
I am so looking forward to reading the final installment in this trilogy and then I can get back to The Camelot Brothers.

Just when I am unsure how the author will surpass the predecessor I am found riveted by the second installment. This book had me in its grips from beginning to end. It’s beautifully written and allowed to feel as though I was walking right beside the main characters throughout. The characters and plot felt very realistic. It delves into an intriguing lifestyle that I find fascinating and scary. Just a beautifully well written book that left me anxious to read the final installment in this prequel. So very good!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I have to say that I am so glad I found it. I knew from the blurb I was in for a great read but I was truly blown away with how much I loved this book. I couldn’t put it down until I reached the end so I read it in one sitting. It has everything I look for in my favorite romance stories. It’s a bit different with us getting the story from Frank’s point of view, which is a nice change. I laughed out loud more than once and was making sure my fan was close by often. The characters are complex and believable, you can’t help but connect with them. It’s well written and a must read! Can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next! Giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it.

Book 1 in the Smirk Series is a funny romantic comedy told from the male’s point of view. Set in wine country, it’s the story of two people who are similar and appreciate each other. A lovely change of pace for the rom-com.
The dialog between Frank and Mikey is laugh out loud funny. My husband got mad a couple of times because I guffawed while he was trying to sleep. I tried to disguise it as an awkward sneeze, but he saw right through me.
While this is a rom-com, it had a complexity and a sophistication about it. There are a lot of characters and they are all developed and important to moving the story along. The backdrop of the winery was a nice setting and I appreciated the nuances between the grapes and the characters. (i.e. fungus-nasty ex)
It was a quick and easy read and I flew right through it from beginning to end. This is the first time I’ve read this author and I am following so I can be sure and get the next installment of the series.

How ive never read this author is beyond me but I absolutely loved this book. Kira is visiting her sister for the summer, and the last thing she expects is to find Jamie. Jamie has some demons from the past that need to be addressed before Kira feels he’s able to actually be in a relationship. Jamie’s story tore me apart. The guilt he’s lived with for years has all come bubbling to the surface. I was so drawn into this story, and I hope the other characters get stories as I fell in love with them as well.

Degrees of Acceptance, Book 2 in the Prestian Series by Via Mari 4 out of 5 Stars
This is a direct continuation from the first book. Please stop what you are doing and go buy the first book Degrees of Innocence, to get the full breadth and depth of this book. Katarina learns the identity of her father, which throws her for a major loop. He isn’t what she had imagined. Chase, her super alpha male counterpart (swoon) is just as domineering and will go to the ends of the earth to keep her safe, and Katie is trying to come to terms with that.
This book has some extreme emotional hot spots. If you are tendered hearted or do not like to read about situations that involve manipulated sexual scenes, then this may not be for you, but I loved this book. I am not a fan of a first person view point, but for this series, I can easily let that go for this story. I cannot wait for the next book.

Must Have Faith is the second book in Darling Cove series by Deborah Garland; this was a wonderful emotional second chance romance. You met Greg and Faith in Must Love Fashion but the question running through my mind the whole time was why Faith left Greg. We finally get the answer, plus see the anger and passion that 10 years apart does to these childhood sweethearts. Can Faith and Greg get a second chance at love or will Faith run off to London?
Faith and Greg have so many things to work out but their lust for one another keeps getting in the way of them talking. Nothing was better than the kitchen table scene; I couldn’t stop laughing at how embarrassing that was. But what really touched my heart was the ending; reading the last 25% of this book will have you needing a box of tissues. Deborah the writing was heartbreaking and had me feeling everything that they were going thru.
So looking forward to reading Edward and Skye’s story next.

My Tragic Life is the 2nd book in an amazing series. Necie Navone did an amazing job keeping me hooked all the way through, and directly into the 3rd book. You must read this book following My Hidden Life, which you should do right away because its wonderful. This series of 3 books is a prequel to the Brothers of Camelot series she is also writing. The characters are well written, with great interactions. The story is written mostly in the perspective of Aless, but with an occasional chapter from the supporting characters. It continues her story, as she gets older, following the responsibilities she carries as the Princess of her Family, essentially a Mafia Princess. With this position comes power, fear, respect, money, but Aless would give it all up to be a normal teenage, who could make her own destiny and choose her own partner. I love the balance the book has, with a little bit of longing and dreams, alongside drama and intense scenes, with a small dash of romance. It is a page turner, and kept me hooked all the way through, and into the next book in the series. Highly recommend it.

A great read about mystery In the Viking era, Sigrid’s day is ruined when she finds the buried body of a man in a nearby gully to her farm. While visiting the area, Ketil realises he knows the man as a warrior and messenger to the Thorfinn kingdom. Together, Sigrid and Ketil investigate a whole town of suspects. But can they find the killer before it’s too late? A brillaint read. Well developed plot with twists and turns that I just couldn’t put down. Well developed characters like Sigrid doing what she loves and standing up for herself or Ketil trying to find the truth and fit in to the community. I also liked how he was the damsel in distress needing saving for humour which was brilliantly written. Also loved the visual detail throughout the novel with the island in the fog with rocky crags and harsh weather which was perfectly written with air of mystery and magic as something of the ancient world harsh and unforgiving And the sense of history with Viking warriors and ships and culture and food halls as if you were actually there. Brillaint mix of crime thriller and historical with suspense and fast paced action for a captivating read. Overall, a brilliant read and I would give it five stars

Bound by Blood is the third book in the Crescent City Wolf Pack series by Carrie Pulkinen. It could be read as a standalone, but seriously, do yourself a real favour and read the other two books, because they are spectacular! You really won’t regret it! As I’ve said with each of the previous two books, I am completely in LOVE with this series, I have devoured each one in a matter of hours- glued to the pages from beginning till end- torn, in that I really had to know what happened, but at the same time not wanting the book(s) to end. I really couldn’t choose a favourite from the three (so far) because they are all brilliant in their own right- each one having its own identity and ‘flavour’, but also, because they all blend together to paint a much bigger (overall) picture, while complimenting the other books in the series at the same time. This (and the series) is a great paranormal romance- with shifters/werewolves, witches, the supernatural, mystery, suspense, danger, action, murder, drama, secrets, shocking discoveries, and emotion. As with the first two books- the story unfolds against the vibrant and mystical backdrop of New Orleans. Alexis Gentry is a rogue werewolf, a drifter, who has had such a hard life that her experiences have left her with trust issues and caused her to build a protective barrier around herself, one she won’t let anyone through- not even her little sister who she’s finally reunited with after 20 years. She is skittish, stubborn, and quite mysterious. She hasn’t had much luck when it’s come to relationships, as she always seems to pick men who’ve only brought her trouble and grief. So, she’s sworn off men and relationships. But, after meeting her sister’s work partner, she can’t stop thinking about him, and he brings out a sense of longing in her that has her questioning everything she thought she wanted. When her latest job goes sour, she quickly realises that she’s gotten in way over her head, and can’t seem to see a way out of her dangerous predicament- not without taking some drastic, desperate action- which results with her in hospital, needing to lay low for a while. Bryce Samuels has just gotten a promotion to Sergeant and put in the position as a negotiator- which is something he’s aspired to ever since joining the Force- saving lives is all he’s ever wanted to do. He’s really good at his job and has a natural instinct that gives him a bit of an edge over some of the other officers. He’s definitely not the settling down type, earning a reputation as an arrogant flirt who doesn’t do relationships. But in fact, there’s a lot more to him, which we discover as the story progresses. Bryce was captivated by Alexis from the moment he set eyes on her and would love to get to know her better. But he soon discovers that she quite the flighty one. When his latest case brings him to the hospital to check on the welfare of his neighbour, Bryce find Alexis has been admitted in a pretty battered state. Concern for her wellbeing has him offering her a safe place to stay until she gets back on her feet. Alexis is quite suspicious of his motives, no one does something for nothing- there is always a price to pay. Isn’t there? But things aren’t adding up, which raises Bryce’s suspicions and has him questioning everything, and puts his detective skills to the test. What happened to put Alexis in hospital? Will she take Bryce up on his offer? What happens when danger catches up with Alexis and places them both in peril? Can Alexis learn to trust? What happens when Bryce learns the truth? Alexis was so used to taking off when things get complicated, spending her whole life running- will she finally decide to stick around, put down some roots and take a chance on love? Bryce lives his life to the letter of the law, upholding the law with every fibre of his being- what will he do if a few laws need to be broken in order to protect the one/s he cares about? I must admit that I really didn’t know if I would really like Alexis as she seemed quite mysterious and somewhat aloof in the previous two books. But, the more I learned about her, and what she’d been through to make her who she is, made me really feel for her and understand her so much better. She did grow on me and by the end of the book I was definitely #teamAlexis. She did frustrate me at times, especially with her lack of communication, and the tendency to let her pride/ego rule. Bryce had already won me over in previous books- even though we knew very little about him, I liked him anyway. Getting to know him so completely in this book, just cemented my feelings. As with the previous book, I spent the majority of this one on the edge of my seat, wondering how things would play out! LOVE. LOVE. LOVE! James’ story is next…. Can’t wait! Superb!

My Tragic Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel by Necie Navone is the second book in the My Life Series. It just gets better in this book. My Tragic Life has a bit of everything from loyalty, friendship, loss and hope. This book delves into more of “Little One” and you get to see how her life is as a mob princess. You get to see how she grows, her loyalty, her understanding of the family duties and friendship. How will she react when she has to be someone she does like or want to be?
Another great book in the My Life Series. You see the growth of “Little One” in this book and it is nice to see the changes. The writing keeps you engaged and turning the pages as you want to see what happens next. The characters are very believable and well developed. I cannot wait to read the next book in the My Life Series.

My Tragic Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel by Necie Navone is the second book in the My Life series. In this book we get to see more into the mob life and what it means to be a Princess to a leading family. We also get to see what it means to have an enemy target you for being a part of that family. The main character of this book is just as strong and interesting to read about as book 1. This book does well to whet your appetite even more. It builds well on book one while leaving you excited for book three. This is a great series and one I would highly recommend reading.

Mad About Matt is the first book in the Red Maple Falls series by Theresa Paolo. It is a second chance at love romance, and my first read from this author. This story is a familiar recipe but done quite well by Ms. Paolo. It’s a small-town romance that’s just as sweet as cherry pie- cute, with a dash of mystery and suspense, new beginnings, and a sprinkle of drama. Shay Matthews and Matt Hayes have a history that takes them back 17 years. They were so close, then circumstances separated them and kept them apart all these years. Shay has moved back to town looking for a fresh start and opened her own bakery, “Sweet Dreams”. Life is going according to plan, until her bakery is broken into, which brings Matt on the scene, as he’s the local Sheriff. They butt heads, and sparks fly. What ensues makes for a light and entertaining read. Even though this is a tried and tested recipe, Ms. Paolo puts her own stamp on it. It is a great book to read if you want something sweet and light-hearted. It was entertaining, if not a little predictable. But that didn’t detract too much from the overall story. It was a little slow in places, especially around the middle of the book, where it seemed to lag quite a bit. I also felt that the sex scenes didn’t match the rest of the story- they seemed a bit rushed in some cases, just awkward, or brushed over. This wasn’t a ‘deal-breaker’ for me, but definitely something that stood out from the rest of the book, and invariably pulled me out of the story. The characters were realistic- interesting enough to keep me reading, and quite likeable. But there were times that Shay really frustrated me. For a girl who had lived in New York City, you’d think she’d be a little more security conscious and take the necessary measures! I hated her mother, she was quite a piece of work! This book is the first in a series of standalones that introduce us to the six members of the Hayes family- 3 brothers and 3 sisters, who each get their own book. I will be reading the other books to see what’s in store for the characters, and for us!

Healing Danger is the first installment of the Fortis Security Novels by Maddie Wade. Maddie Wade’s writing style kept me on the edge of my seat. This story is about Lauren and Dane. This couple is playing games like any new couple does but there is a little danger involved with their pairing. Dane is the new team leader of Fortis and he is to protect Lauren. Lauren has caught the eye of a serial killer. There are several strong-arm guys within Fortis but Dane is playing this one close to his chest. There are several little distractions as the story goes, but Dane and Lauren keep the focus. Will Dane be able to keep Lauren and himself safe? Who will find the serial killer and thwart his plans?

“Must Have Faith” is the second book in the Darling Cove series by Deborah Garland so make sure to read “Must Love Fashion” first! “Must Have Faith” gives us the story of Gwen’s brother Greg and the woman he was supposed to marry ten years ago, Faith. Greg has been stuck in the past since his ex-fiancée left him ten years ago, right before they were to be married. He is an honorable man and dedicated police officer, just like his father, and proud of it. Faith left Greg to report to Iraq for a three year assignment, but that was seven years ago and she is still stuck on what happened before she left. The story of these two people is long, but intense. They have loved each other for so long, but can’t seem to get it together! I was hoping Deborah Garland would give us this story, as she hinted to it in “Must Love Fashion” and I wasn’t disappointed. The more I read about the Mallory family, the more I love them and reading about their lives. Darling Cove seems (excuse the pun but…) just darling and most of its’ residents seem like down to earth, genuine people. I absolutely love this series and can’t wait to start reading “Must Be Crazy!” I probably know who it is about and can’t wait to see what Deborah Garland has in store! When Gwen got hired at her new job at Prada, she had no idea that she would be taking over the PR duties from a current employee, Andrew, who had been in Milan for a few months. So, when he returned, she was surprised to learn he also had no idea she had been hired. He treated her poorly at first, from shock and maybe a hit to his pride, but she was taken by him from the first glance. Andrew is a bit of a broken man when he returns to New York and less than excited to be working so closely with the new girl. Can these two work together successfully? No spoilers here, but seriously do yourself a favor and read “Must Love Fashion!” It is the first book in the Darling Cove series and I can’t wait to see what else Deborah Garland has up her sleeve! Gwen and Andrew’s story is such a great read! I devoured it in a day, since I didn’t want to put it down! The details of the fashion plus wonderful details of New York, Milan and even Darling Cove make me want to hop a plane! I loved Deborah Garland’s description of the waterside villages in Italy, so detailed I could picture everything! This book is a must read! I give FIVE wholehearted stars to Deborah Garland and “Must Love Fashion!” Now, I’m off to start inhaling “Must Have Faith!” Reviewed by @emilybee430
