Moments that Define Us by Amy McKinley takes us back to why and where it all began and what shaped these boys into men. I enjoy reading Amy’s books they are so descriptive and full of danger and action. We have a group of boys trying to find family and stay alive without getting caught up in anything illegal. With enemies on the warpath it’s only a matter of time before things turn against them. It is a short read but one that packs a punch giving us an insight to the life they endured before and defined them.

This page turner tugged on my heart strings in a huge way. It is an emotional juggernaut and held me in its grip from first page to last. It was well paced and richly detailed. I loved how the story moved and developed. I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait to read more from this author.

A well paced read, I enjoyed this book and the characters. The characters are well defined and believable. The storyline has a steady pace. The author did a good job telling the story and drawing the reader in. It had action and plenty to keep me on my toes. A good book and one I will recommend to others.

Joker’s Fool is the with book in the Satan’s Devils MC series by Manda Mellett. This M/M story blew my sock off. Although this book is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Mellett, but definitely won’t be the last. I plan to go back and read the rest of the series in the near future. This book hooked me on the first page and I couldn’t put it down till the very last. The emotional roller coaster had me up well past my bedtime, but it was well worth the loss of sleep. I love how Lady sticks with Joker throughout his emotional upheaval as he learns how to cope with things from his past and learns how to love himself. This is a true love story. The emotions brought to the surface were truly amazing and heart felt. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Meghan O’Flynn has done it again. This story continues the lives of two detectives and a attorney. Petrosky is an addict and some habits are harder to kick than most. I felt so bad for him through most of the books. But I also think he gave up too quickly. I have always felt that you can’t do something for yourself because of someone else. If you want to change it has to be because you felt something that made you want to be and do better. People might hold you to this place but your will to be here is what keeps you going every day. The author gave me chills with this one. I don’t understand how the author sleeps with these stories floating in her head. I’m off to watch a Disney movie after finishing this story. The kill blended in so well that it makes you want to question every stranger around you. The killers background shapes him to be this way and it’s a sad life kids have to live when they suffer at the hands of the ones who are suppose to love and protect you. I might be repeating myself but I will at it just in case I haven’t. This author could be on the same level as Stephen King. Every time I open his book I’m left looking over my shoulder and jumping at shadows. This author does that to me as well. I can’t believe how good this series has been so far. Give and Take is the second book in the Thorne Brothers series by Lee Kilraine. This is the first book I’ve read in this series, and I had no trouble jumping right in. It can be read as a standalone. I have read a few of Ms. Kilraine’s other books but I think this one is my new favorite of hers. I’m definitely going back and reading Give It Up. This book had me hooked from the very first page, I love the witty dialogue and the chat are true to life and likable most of the time. Wyatt Thorne is the strong silent type and Rhia Hollis has a bit of a party girl reputation. When these two meet, the sparks start flying. Their chemistry is off the charts, and if they can control the urge to kill each other and start trusting, they could have a beautiful thing. I liked the fast pace of this story and the way the book had me chuckling out loud. That is what make a great book for me, when it brings your emotions out, be it laughing or crying. I highly recommend this light hearted romance and look forward to reading more in the future.

Our Next Chapter by Michelle Sullivan is a beautiful second chances romance that’s packed full of emotion. Ms. Sullivan weave’s a tale that encompasses heartbreak, betrayal, pain, anger, regrets, confronting the past, confusion, drama, trust, hope, passion, friendship, and love. I always know when reading one of Ms. Sullivan’s novels that my emotions are going to get a battering, and this story was no exception. Karalyn James and Desmond Madden (Dez) were inseparable as children, there isn’t a childhood memory that doesn’t contain the other. They would often talk about their future, dreaming and planning their lives together- with the expectation that they would eventually marry, have babies and grow old together. Their bond of friendship developed and grew over the years and eventually turned romantic, then blossomed into much more on the night of Karalyn’s Graduation. This was a pivotal moment for them- their love had been sealed for eternity- or so they thought at the time. Because of situations out of either of their control, Karalyn moves to San Francisco, which breaks both their hearts. The plan was always that Dez would join her there as soon as possible, but fate had other plans. His betrayal cuts deeply, shattering her heart into a million pieces and leaving her alone at a time when she needed him the most. I was rooting for them fairly early on in the story. This story took me on quite the emotional journey, which is something Ms. Sullivan excels at. I felt their pain and heartbreak and couldn’t believe what they’d been through- especially when everything that happened when they broke up is fully revealed- I was shocked and hurt for them. There were definitely a couple of characters that I wanted to hit after finding out what happened!!! Another wonderful story from Ms. Sullivan. I am looking forward to reading Quinn’s story next in “Our Unexpected Hope”.

Savannah’s Saviors (The Cowboys of Cavern County Book 5) By Bella Settarra. Oh how this book immediately pulled me in and I couldn’t shake it until the very end. This is the first book I’ve read in the series and by this author, so I read this as a standalone with only a bit of confusion. But it’s not a completely lost on what’s going on in the book, it’s just that nagging feeling like there’s a story you’re missing and need to know more about. You can read it and enjoy it fully alone but I’ll definitely be going back and reading the rest because I loved this one. Savannah’s character was just the right mix of strong and broken down. I love stories that have the characters having a difficult past they break away from. Tom and Greg are so dreamy and will have you wishing you weren’t just reading a book. But they are also sweet and protective. I loved everything about this book it’s well written and paced nicely. It has its steamy parts but it’s more than just those, it’s a story about finding your way out of tough times and finding your true path. I’m looking forward to reading more of these stories. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it.

Give and Take by Lee Kilraine is the second book in the Thorne Brothers series and I love it. Rhia made me laugh and feel bad for her at the same time but there was just something about her that made me fall in love with her.
Wyatt is the quiet, brooding smart guy. He enjoys quiet and order and that is the last thing he gets once he meets Rhia.
I understood Rhia’s feeling of not fitting in with her family, like a black sheep though it’s not her fault. I wanted to scream and shake them all to try and get them to see what an amazing woman she is
I have not read anything by this author before which I regret. I will be keeping up with this series and other book by Lee Kilraine.

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance, by Alexa Summers, is the first book in the Big Apple Series. This sports romance was instantly fun to read. I thought the feisty personality and go-getter attitude from Lexi was right on point and enjoyed the back and forth banter that occurred between her and Brett. Lexi may like the male physique more that a normal woman may admit, but she takes charge and knows her stuff despite her filter not working properly at all times. This story made me laugh, and I enjoyed the growth in the characters as the story progresses. There is definitely some animosity between some co-workers, but it adds to the charm of the story, giving some additional dynamic and drama. The way the author finishes the story was perfect and an ending that was in tune with the characters.

Lee Kilraine’s Give and Take is the second installment of the Thorne Brothers series. Each of the books within this series features one of the Thorne brothers; Give and Take is Wyatt’s story. I liked Wyatt’s character from the beginning. He may be a little OCD, but he definitely gives everything his all and then some. When it comes to his family, nothing comes before that. Let’s add Rhia to the story and this book enters a whole new playing field. The attraction is evident, the personalities conflict and it’s about to get truly hot and steamy just around the corner. I loved the secondary characters, they added a lot of laughs and what the heck moments in the story making it fun to read. Lee Kilraine is a gifted author that can create a work of art that is hilarious, but serious at the same time.

Self Love: A British Tale of Woe and Wit by TL Clark 4 out 5 Stars
Honestly, I had a hard time with this book. I love this author. I love her detail to her characters. The plots she develops are both complex and simple at the same time. And this book is no different. The story development was exactly the right pace for Molly and Nick, the two main characters. Molly has some major body issues. She spends most of the book in one form of self deprecation mode or another. My heart was breaking for her each time I read a statement where she dragged herself through the mud again. Nick, for all that he is, is getting her to see herself for what she is worth, not what she has fabricated insider her head. Molly and Nick’s relationship was hard won, and if it was not for some EXTREME patience on Nick’s side and some serious come to Jesus understanding on Molly’s, I am not sure these two would have panned out.
I struggled rating this book because reading a character over and over again who was constantly berating herself was getting tiresome, but Nick was a solid character and I grew to love the two of them together. The technical structure of the book was near flawless. The paragraphs were full, The plot easily flowed and I kept up with the storyline easily enough. For those alone, I had to give a full star because writing a book on its own is hard work and the rest was just my personal opinion. I recommend this book for book clubs.

Give and Take (The Thorne Brothers #2) by Lee Kilraine was a okay read that has those good feels and some good chucking moments.
My first read by this author and for this series, they read as standalones so no worries about reading out of order. This was a fun, light heart read that had me sort of hooked. I’ll tell you why, it just felt like something I’ve read before that and, there was just something bothering be about our female MC.
I’ve read a lot of these types of books this year, and you start to see a pattern. And as much as the writing is witty and the feels are good, I just wasn’t fully sucked into the story. There was this far-fetchedness to it that just kept pulling me out. Our female MC Rhia, she was a good character, but at times I felt like she was, too much, just a little. I didn’t care much for the way her family acted, especially her older sister. Maybe because I come from such a supporting family, that I just don’t get how people that are suppose to love you just, are so disapproving and mean. I didn’t like the the way it was implied that Rhia wasn’t as smart as the rest of her family. I mean, starting a business, an event planning one, isn’t anything to laugh at. Rhia is just as smart as her overachieving sister/family. She just using her brain and intelligence in a different, more creative way, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
As for Wyatt, I liked him very much. He had this spark and really stood out. I don’t want to call him a alpha, because though he showed those cliché’s, he also didn’t. He is what kept me reading, I loved it when it was his turn to tell the story. I think if this whole story was told in his POV, it would have been just… bamd! Just my opinion. Or maybe even starting with him, instead of Rhia.
Overall this book is as I said, a fun, witty, light heart read that is packed full of good feels, frustrating moments and all that romantic drama we romance lovers crave. This books gets my high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Fisher of Men by Phoebe Alexander is the first installment of the Eastern Shore Swingers series. This book is contemporary romance and touches on the subject of swinging couples. This story is about Leah Miller and Chris Sheldon a.k.a. Cap. Leah grew up in a small town to religious parents and she decided to spread her wings by attending Cornell University and study Hospitality Management. She is currently an assistant manager at The Pearl in Ocean City. While working at the hotel, she meets Cap, who is attending a private party. Cap is a charter fishing captain in Ocean City and also is part of an alternative lifestyle. She is very intrigued and attracted to Cap but she is not sure about his lifestyle due to her upbringing and beliefs. Will Cap and Leah find common ground or will their difference in opinions stop them from being in a relationship? You would have to read this story to find out! I enjoyed reading Cap and Leah’s story and how their relationship evolves around Leah’s beliefs and how she can work around it to open up to Cap and his alternative lifestyle. Cap is a very persuasive Alpha male that knows his way into a woman’s heart and panties. I recommend this book and look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I love this story. The story line, the characters, the writing style, the adventure. I love it! Karalyn and Dez, childhood best friends turned high school sweethearts, turned enemies?!? But can they get back what was lost?!
There was a lot of heart ache in this story but from that heartache came their “next chapter”. Sullivan let Karalyn know every emotion possible. In turn we as the reader got to experience every emotion as well. While Karalyn learned how to live with heart break we felt her every pain. The love. We felt her anger. And denial. Every emotion Karalyn experienced thanks to Dez we felt it too.
This book was easy to follow and read. The villains were not the usual villains, but they were still easy to hate. And Karalyn proves to herself that she really doesn’t need Dez.
Sullivan breaks your heart during this story and then just as easily puts it together again.

The Boss Man is the fourth novel in The Manly Series by Teddy Hester. This is my first novel by this author.
Jack, who moves from North Carolina to Texas, is a construction worker to help with a construction job that is behind on a deadline.
Jillian, who has overprotective brothers just wants to feel like she can contribute and be equal in her family eyes.
When she is hired to be on Jack’s crew, will sparks fly? Can the two have a happy ending or will Jack push her away?
I really enjoyed the novel. From the beginning, the writing and voice of Jack pulled me in. The cover also caught my attention making me wonder in what direction this book would go.
I will admit that the names of the characters pulled me out a little cause I kept thinking about was the nursery rhyme but once I got use to and the story progressed, it didn’t bother me anymore.
I look forward to reading the other books in the series.

The Boss by Abigail Owen is an unexpected but brilliant story. Finn knows heartbreak. He knows the pain of loss. And he knows that it isn’t worth going through for a second time. Instead he has made his team of dragon enforces his family, that way he won’t have to risk anything again. He definitely won’t have to risk finding his mate and putting her through the same process that killed his last mate. But then he meets Delaney. Clueless Delaney who doesn’t understand why fires keep occurring around her. Who has had to rely on him and his team for protection. Finn is determined not to fall for her, not to put himself through the same again. But he might not have a choice in the matter when someone else steps up to claim her.
I was really excited to get stuck into this book and it certainly didn’t disappoint. I found this to be an interesting and unique story. I loved Finn. I thought it was really easy to become invested in his story and his emotions. Delaney, for me, was exactly right for him. I am hoping we get to see more from these enforcers in the future!

Give And Take (The Thorne Brothers) by Lee Kilraine is a highly entertaining book that will keep you laughing to the end. Wyatt has always been the quiet type. Starting from when he was just a kid it has extended into adulthood. He doesn’t feel the need to talk incessantly, but he will speak when necessary. And then Rhia moves in to the empty office space he and his brothers have. Rhia who is a whirlwind in comparison. Rhia who always wants to talk. Rhia who loves to push his buttons. The chemistry between them is instant but they two couldn’t be more different if the tried. However, they do say opposites attract…
This book was brilliant. It is exactly what you need to just lose yourself entirely for a few hours. It was funny – the interaction between Wyatt and Rhia was just great. It was steamy – their chemistry was absolutely off the charts. And the story was all there as well. This is easily one of the most entertaining books I have read this year. A brilliant read.

Georgia Pine is book 3 in the series, but I didn’t connect some of the dots until the writer did it for me at the end, where this couple comes into play. Tim is a sweet, tall and strong, rugged man. He has a heart of gold and loves on Jessica’s kids, the elderly, his boss, basically everyone. I love Tim. Jessica I went back and forth on. I mean she’s a good mom and deserves happiness but the way her and so many other emphasized class differences or the importance of money really annoyed me. Maybe that’s more common than I realize? Anyway, that’s my personal issue with the characters, not the story. It was a smooth read that I had trouble walking away from. I’ve enjoyed this whole series, but you can read this as a stand alone. And it has a happy ever after.

Can’t Forget Book 2 in the Solum Series by Colleen S. Myers 4 Stars!!!!
I am forever reading books in series out of order but I found that I didn’t have trouble in understanding what was happening in this book. I do love an alien based book. I found the author had a very refreshing style. I quite liked the plot and was quite drawn into this book.
Elizabeth and Marin have such a unique and special chemistry. I was quite drawn to them as a pair. The way the author uses the back flashes of Elizabeth’s past really add to the drama of the book. I found myself feeling the emotions along with her and also her fears. I really do need to get the other books in the series read and I plan on not only reading them but also reading this book again as I feel as though I have found another author to add to my top favorites!

Hidden is disturbing and dark. Each of these stories uncovers a scarier and more twisted crime. This time the detectives are possibly dealing with someone from the past, which makes it all the more important to them. Some moments are so shocking, and sad, that I literally had to walk away from the story for a bit and gather myself. It really affected me. This writer really has a way of pulling you in. Another fantastic read in the Ash Park series, and though I wonder where do we go from here, I look forward to the next book.

I have to admit when I first picked up this book I wasn’t quite sure what it was going to be about, I just knew that I was very intrigued by it and fancied reading something a little different. I wasn’t sure if Reverse Harem was something would like as I had never read a book in this trope before. I did actually really enjoy the story and was glad that I took that chance on something different. I thought that the writing was good, the pace and flow of the story perfect and I really liked the characters. It was interesting to read how all the characters interacted with each other and I think the books set up the start of the series really well. There were some good twists in the story and my attention was definitely captured from beginning to end. I am looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Touch down written by Alexa Summers was a great read. It was full of funny moments, quick with remarks from Lexi and of course a lot of sexual tension between Lexi and Brett. You wonder which way the story will go on the beginning then you are hooked and you keep anticipating what will happen next but you aren’t prepared. Once you realize what’s finally happened you know who it is and you have to keep reading to see how it plays out. Lexi is a great female lead, she does what she has to do to advance in her career without compromising her morals like others characters in the book. By the end your left wondering if you want another story or if it should be left alone. @krystalgaston

A great read about finding yourself. Molly is a florist struggling to find love. After a fiasco booking at a wedding and its events after with an old work colleague, she decides to focus on herself. As her florist business grows, she decides to lose some weight to find love and rediscovers herself along the way. But will she find love and happiness in the end? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Molly going after what she wants despite the criticism of others or Wendy as a caring friend trying to help others. Molly’s struggles with being tired of being alone and her weight and finding love were beautifully written and relatable. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel with the colourful flowers or the interior details of Molly’s house full of details or the wedding scenes full of people and life but also claustrophobic at the same time. The first person narration helped to display Molly’s thoughts and feelings.The only issue I would raise is that the narration broke the fourth wall and felt more like a blog post than a novel If this was addressing the audience was reduced, it would be five stars. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

This is the second book in this series and I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I was pulled right into the story by the creative characters that made me feel part of their journey. Beta is my favorite, she is determined and strong but she also knows that the E’mani won’t soon be forgetting about her. That determination will put her and someone she cares for in danger which leaves her questioning if she will ever be able to leave her past behind? I highly recommend reading this book to find out.

I was not expecting this book to blow me away like it did. I haven’t read anything by Teddy Hester before I definitely will now! This is the 4th book in the series but I was comfortable reading it as a standalone but with that being said and how much I loved it, I will definitely be picking up the prior books to read the other stories.
Jack is a very smart and very successful man. He does whatever he has to do to succeed in his business. He has a deadline to make and he’s willing to move mountains to obtain his goal with this new contract he’s acquired. Then we meet Jillian and the sparks between the two are off the page. Jillian has a point to prove when she accepted the job with Jack and she won’t let a bossy man stand in her way. As the sparks start heating up the page, someone is lurking in the background trying to sabotage Jack’s project.
I loved this story from the very beginning. I loved every aspect of this book and I can’t wait to go back and read the first 3 books in this series.

Extremely well-written. I loved this author collaboration. This emotional rollercoaster was action packed and fast paced. It kept me entranced from the first page to the last. An excellent series and highly recommended. Loved it!
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It is well written, rich in detail, and has a steady pace. The characters are somehow believable even given the storyline and setting. Although a bit heavy in the amount of sex, it was a good book. The author has a unique voice and a clear ability for story telling regardless of where the story takes place.
I enjoyed this story of romance that is an opposites attract situation. I enjoyed how this author’s attention to detail had the story flowing and made me feel as if I was right there with the characters. One is needing a change and the other just don’t have time for dating. What happens when opportunities land in their laps? I enjoyed watching both Rhia and Wyatt’s relationship grow through their challenges. I highly recommend this book.

This is the first book in this series and also my first book by this author. There is a little bit of everything in this book from romance to mystery to drama. What happens when a news reporter catches a player in a wardrobe malfunction? The characters in this book you will either love them or hate them as they are full of drama but also full of love. I will say that Lexi and Brett make an awesome couple and their attraction is strong. I highly recommend their story and find out what happens.
