Our Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan is a story that will take your emotions on a rollercoaster ride. Quinn believes in true love. How couldn’t she when her parents show her each and every day what it is. And she knows that she wants it for herself. She knows that she will feel it when she meets the one. Noah, on the other hand, hasn’t ever really experienced the love of a family. He doesn’t have the strong belief in true love. However he does know that he wants to get to know Quinn more. With their different views their journey will be anything but easy. Will they be able to find their way in the end? With this book you certainly feel all the emotions – from sadness to happiness and everything in between. Noah and Quinn are two characters that have you fully believing in them and their story. It had you following their journey so close. I liked that the author managed to find a way for them both to capture my heart in completely different ways to each other. This was well written and a great story to read.
This book put me through an emotional ringer!! The love between Noah and Quinn is so amazing and supportive and hot!! There is so much I want to say but I don’t want to give anything away. My heart broke for the struggles and loss they had to endure. Where a lot of couples would have split up because of what they went through especially at such a young age, it made them stronger. Noah grew up in foster care and never had a family so when he found Quinn he new that he wanted to build a family with her. Quinn has a wonderful family and she’s hoping to find the kind of love that her parents have. Quinn’s parents are very much in love, and she has a very close relationship with them and her little brother. I became completely emotionally invested while I was reading this wonderful, heartbreaking, full of hope story. I can’t say enough good things about this story it was so well written, I cried tears of sadness and tears of happiness. I felt as though I was right there with them. I highly recommend this book, it is truly a gem.
The Reader (The Immortal Series Book 1) By MK Harkins. While I wasn’t immediately drawn in, I did eventually get hooked on this story of a young girl in a world she doesn’t know. Now I did take an instant liking to the main character Ann, I simply loved her character. In fact I liked every character for a different reason, each of them brings something unique and different to the story making for a really great reading experience. This book is more than just a paranormal type story there’s a healthy dose of suspense that keeps you on both the edge of your seat and the tips of your toes. The characters are complex, flawed and believable. The author brings the story to life simply with the way it’s written. It’s well thought out and paced nicely. I’m excited to read more. Giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it.

You know how I’m constantly saying that I love reading thrillers? Well, Repressed by Meghan O’Flynn doesn’t even begin to cover my whole adoration for this particular genre. To say that I literally sat on the edge of my seat while reading this book doesn’t even explain all that I felt while reading.
Like I said, I sat on the edge of my seat (figuratively biting my finger nails – I don’t do that, just in my head) and felt like I had to scream at everything and everyone that interrupted my reading.
This whole world building gets better and better with each book, and the fact that the author is able to maintain that suspense throughout the entirety of the book is what astounds me. I kept trying to figure out what was going to happen, but I’ve come to realize with O’Flynn that it’s just not possible. As a reader, you kind of just have to go with the book and the flow of it, and see where everything settles. You will not be disappointed – not one bit. I seriously can’t wait to see where else she takes us! This was definitely another 5 Star Book for me!
~sigh~ This was a quick and easy romance that is full of good friends, small town charm, romance and a bit of angst.
One of the many things I enjoyed about this story is that neither protagonist is an over the top alpha. They are both strong and independent and able to deal with life on an individual basis. This story seems to be the start or a series because we are introduced to many different characters. Each is well developed with individual traits that make up part of a hole.
There are a few dangling questions for me that I’m sure will be answered in future stories in the series.
I really like reading books by this author and I don’t recall ever being disappointed in anything she has written.

5 Star The Reader ( The Immortal Series Book 1) By M.K.Harkins is the first book in the Immortal Series and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series as well. I’ve read other books by this author and this one climbs to the top.I had the hardest time putting it down once I started reading. The authors style of writing grabs your attention from the beginning and keeps it till the end. There are some twists and turns that had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next and then we are taken the other way. The Readers is the first part of a duet by M.K. Harkins. It is not the first encounter with this writer and when this book popped up on my radar then I knew that I have to pick up a copy as I absolutely loved the other books I had read by her! I was though not ready for it! I would call it paranormal love triangle … what else would you call when you have highly evolved humans who can read minds (Readers), humans who can hijack other bodies (Hijacks), and Seers who have been wiped out though … so we have that crazy world where the Seers have predicted a very special Reader will be born one day who will unite everyone … this is the stage where we meet Ann and Devon and Archer. When Ann wakes up in shallow water she has no recollection who she is … can you imagine being only eighteen, shot and without your memory? Who can you trust, where will you go? Can she trust those two young men – Archer and Devon – who approach her? Transformations, by Cari Schaeffer, is the first volume in the Shifter series. This is a paranormal/fantasy that is engrossing and easily addictive within the elements combined within it’s pages. Growth is a steady part of this novel both in character development and as the story gains steam and builds upon itself. The author does a commendable job in her creativity, depth, originality and talent that is evident with the suspense, drama, intrigue that flows from the pages. Being the first book in the series, Cari Schaeffer set the bar on how the series will flow and it’s one that will have the reader impatiently waiting to read the next book as it pulls you within the dynamic of the story being shared.

Small Town Hero, by Kim Koby, is the first book in the Small Town Brides series. This wholesome romance is set in a small town in Tennessee featuring one damsel in distress, in life and in love. Rebecca has set values in her life that set her apart from others, ones she holds true to despite how others look at her or how they think about her decisions. With her life in a tailspin she finds something she didn’t plan on nor anticipate but could it be what she truly needs? Add in one handsome and caring southern male and this story has all the makings for a possible fairy tale. This was an extremely sweet and inspirational romance that was touching, warm, and true to the main characters beliefs.

Transformations is in the paranormal/fantasy genre. This story is off the charts and Cari Schaeffer does an amazing job with her characters and scenery. She wants to have you immerse yourself in the story. I felt like I could have taken the place of Kat. It is a fast read but one must not overlook the subtle interactions of the characters. Kat is one of the main characters in the story. She lost her family to the Barortkoff family at a young age. Kat is growing up and is becoming a Shifter. She is unsure what she is supposed to be since her family was gone. She is hoping she would be normal because she does not want people coming after her. Christopher is emerging into Kat’s life. The bad news about that happening is that he is a part of the family that murdered her parents. Should Kat be trusting and see how things go between Christopher and herself or should she run away? I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.

Transformations (The Shifter Series, #1) by Cari Schaeffer was a uniquely original read that was pretty okay, and took a different take on the shifter world.
My first read by this author, I went in with a open mind as the synopsis was intriguing and the reviews raving. The opening was hooking and a little darker than I thought it would be. It set the stage for what was to come, and it really drove home how a family feud, that started generations ago, can affect family(s) that had nothing to do with the original fight. I like it, cause there are feuds like this today, hate for no reason other then, “it’s part of the family history”, is to me, silly, and closed minded.
Now to start, I did have some issues with this book. Told in multi POV, we get different sides to the story, and we get some scenes that don’t add anything to the plot and felt like filler. There were also some long winded scenes, and some that seemed too short. So that lead to pacing issues and, it created a choppiness feeling between transitions. It took me a bit to like out MC, she was something at the start, and I don’t want to say bratty, but that’s how she came across. I get it, she’s going through her transformation to shifter, but some of the stuff she was spuing was just disrespectful nonsense. (BTW being normal is overrated.. just saying) I have this things agents closed minded characters that are very me, me, me. I saw that right away, and it made me dislike her. Now as the story goes on, she does get better and towards the end I did kind of like her, okay I like her a lot. But, she’s something, I just got to warn you on that.
This is also a bit of a star crossed lover type deal, it wasn’t bad, but again, it is a overuse trope, but I feel, for me, it was handled pretty good in this book.
Other than those small things, the actual plot, and over all story telling was great. It was unique, original and like I said, darker then I thought it would be. There’s a bit of a mystery, and of course there is the whole, is Christopher really not like the rest of his family? Or is he leading the Wolff’s into a false sense of security, to strike.? It was a nice added touch, making the plot a little suspenseful and thrilling. Not going to tell you Christopher’s deal, you’re just going to have to find out on your own if he’s the linchpin, or the demon.
With the being said, this book did hook me enough to continue on with the series. I need to know what happens next! So please take my recommendation, and my stamp of approval that you will get capture by this rare take on shifters and, how they came to be.

This was my first book by this author and what a story! I was skeptical at first but once the first chapter gets going it was tough to put down. Kat is seventeen and on the cusp of having her first Transformation. Her family is different and in a feud with another for as long as they can remember. We see Kat and her amazing abilities, which were downright awesome! I’ve never read a shifter book that had other things than animals so this was a surprise! I loved the family, but was left with questions. Like what’s Granny doing in her sewing room? And that cliffhanger ugh I need more!

I can’t believe what I just read. It was so real and raw I felt like I was living the author’s words. Riley has an addiction but she doesn’t see it that way. Cam has loved Riley for a really long time but doesn’t think she notices him. I loved every word of this story because it told a story that we need to hear. Kids are out here suffering and we have adults feeding them drugs. The pressure these kids feel to be perfect to perform perfectly is heavy. The author did a great jib highlighting the life of young adults on two different paths trying to meet in the middle. Cam wants to help Riley but it seems like she is just dragging him down. She doesn’t believe she needs help but clearly something needs to change. I felt angry at her parents and how they enabled her. The mom should’ve known that the manager was shady and kept him away. Over all it was a great story that made you want to hold Riley and tell her there was a better way and that you were there for her.

So when she meets Royce, she accepts that their one night stand will be just that, nothing more than one night of amazing passion. When Royce reveals his plans to stay in town, Emma struggles to accept this despite the bold gestures he makes to show her that he’s series. I loved seeing their relationship evolve over time and see Emma start to trust people again. Her and Royce have such a natural and instant chemistry, it’s infectious to read. Surprisingly, I found myself super attracted to Royce after finding out he was a veterinarian, which is something I didn’t know about myself! Together they are such a fun couple and make for such an enjoyable, easy read.
One of my favourite parts of Summer Fling were the cute messages Royce started sending to Emma. I am a real suck for any kind of romantic gesture, regardless of how unique, bold or crazy they are. I loved this, and found myself anticipating the next note, but things really got interest when the past comes back to haunt Emma. This really shakes things up and I found myself super worried for the couple. The author did a fantastic job of building the tension and drama, keeping my glued to the sofa while I waited to see how things would turn out.
This book perfectly hit my end-of-summer-blues spot. Summer Fling is fun, romantic and passionate, making it the perfect easy-read for those of you who are desperate for your romance fix. I loved both the characters and the plot equally and I must admit, I’m hoping for future stories involving Willie, Effie, Cyrus and Jackson! This was my first read of this author and I am super excited to explore more of their work.

Before I go on any further, can I just say how beautiful I think this book’s cover is? It is completely eye catching and the colors are gorgeous together! Since we aren’t supposed to judge books by their cover, I’ll move on… As summer has come to a close here it was nice to have a light, summer read to shut it down. Summer Fling was the perfect combination of super sexy scenes and intriguing storyline with characters that felt so relatable they could be your friends too. I enjoyed the his and her perspective that this story was told from, really giving us a true taste of their personalities. I loved Emma straight from the beginning, witty and honest. The supporting characters throughout the story were just as enjoyable as the main ones, making it an even easier read. I almost wish this book was a little bit longer it was a fast paced, quick read that had a little of everything in it romance, steamy sex scenes, drama and suspense which was really satisfying. There was a time while reading when the drama and suspense really started to pick up and the book started to near the conclusion I felt like we were going in a different direction and there would be some loose ends. I will admit after making it to the end and reading the epilogue I was much more satisfied. Overall I really enjoyed this book, it was nice to hold on to summer a little bit longer here in New England.

Wow, this book had me turning pages so fast because I couldn’t absorb the story fast enough. There was no way I could take a break to be an adult while reading it.
This is the first book in “The Immortal Series” and I’m so glad I have book 2 downloaded already.
This story had a familiarity about it but was different enough that it heads in a direction I was not expecting. I read this blind so wasn’t sure exactly what the story would be about.
The character development is spot on. The descriptions of locations was detailed enough to be visual but not so detailed that it dragged the story down. The story has a very obvious beginning,middle, and end and has a well thought out plot. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
This is a fantastic book for young and old readers alike.

Blind Magic by India Kells is a phenomenally dynamic paranormal read! This is the second book in The Sanctuary Chronicles and my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last. Though I found it easy enough to follow along I would recommend reading this series in order as the character introductions would have already been made. However, even having said that this storyline and book tops my list of favourite paranormal reads!
This book is detailed, intriguing, intense and so action-packed. There was always something going on which made it highly entertaining. I found that the storyline flowed flawlessly with easy to love characters. Each and every character added so much to the story and I’m really looking forward to reading book 1 and the remainder of the series as soon as possible.
I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next paranormal read!

The Kitty Committee is a suspenseful tale written by Kathryn Berla. It was mysterious and entertaining. The story was a little slow going for me, at first. But once I I got into the swing of it, it was really enjoyable.
Grace and her not so nice group of friends, The Kitty Committee, share a secret. A secret that has played on Grace’s mind for year, leading to unrest and unfulfilling relationships. It was great witnessing it all unfold and how it ended. Many moments of suspense and intensity made this novel hard to put down. The dynamic of women and their propensity to bicker and put each other down instead of propping a fellow girl up, was evident in this story. An engaging story that would suit lovers of the twisty and unusual. 4 stars
I will be completely honest and start off this review with a disclaimer. I didn’t really go into this novel for the Knights and King Arthur stuffs. I love Reverse Harem novels and Jesikah Sundin and Claire Luana are both new authors to me. The cover was gorgeous and the title was pretty much calling out to me, “read me!” So I dove in blind. With that in mind I must say on that alone this book just didn’t really hit all the notes of a reverse harem for me. I get its building a slow burn to get there, and I for sure will be back in the next installments to see how it gets there, I just wish it hadn’t been so slow to get there. This only got to what I would call steamy read not a make me need to fan myself read. I understand understated, I just wanted a bit more. Otherwise, it was a great read and I look forward to seeing if it continues to blossom in the future books as far as this story layer goes. As far as the other layers the world building was fantastic. I was swept away into a whole new world and loved every second of it!

Small Town Hero by Kim Koby is book one of the Small Town Brides Series. Prior to reading this book, I hadn’t read anything by the author but I saw a review for this book and was exciting to jump in. I was not disappointed. This was such a sweet romance and I couldn’t put it down.
Rebecca is feisty but most of that is to cover how she’s truly feeling after the huge betrayal she was forced to experience. Ryan, though, has experienced his own heartache. He’s no stranger to what Rebecca’s feeling. Rebecca and Ryan couldn’t be more different but they find that there is quite the connection between them. Will they be able to explore the connection and mend each other’s broken hearts?
I enjoyed this book. It was sweet. The characters definitely developed through the book. It was pretty lighthearted but it was an enjoyable read nonetheless. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series holds.
Repressed is the third book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. This series keeps getting better and better. This series can be read as stand alone books, but you really don’t want to miss any of this goodness. This book is full of twists and turns that will leave you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. This book and series is not for the faint of heart, some of the scenes are quite gory. The mind bending story will leave you with a book hangover for days to come. I highly recommend this chilling psychological thriller and can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Necie Navone’s The Only One is the first in The Brothers of Camelot series. This is a contemporary romantic suspense that focuses on Fitz/Drake and Isabella. Along with them there is a colorful cast of supporting characters with strong and crazy and unique personalities that set them each apart that are within the Brother of Camelot family. I found this story full of laughter within scenes while others drew more seriousness. The author did a great job of capturing those emotional responses in just the right ways. Being the first book within the series it did a great job combining a lot of base information on characters while portraying the main story at the same time. After reading The Only One, I cannot wait to see what is coming ahead in future book(s) in The Brothers of Camelot series.

Blaze Knight, what a freaking cool name. If I ever had the desire to change my name, I would want to pick something like like. It just screams, I am a HardA**. Blaze is this books main character, and he is one B.A. He was maimed and tortured by vampires and his mission is to protect what is left of humanity. Not feeling very human himself, Blaze ventures out into the desolate waste ground of America….also known as the Bronx. When the demons from his past come raging back, he is determined to get an eye for an eye and have his revenge.
He meets and joins up with Valerie Medeiros, an NYPD detective who has demons of her own, be they more mental than actual demons. These two perfectly tormented people are drawn together like the opposite points of a magnet. Val tries her hardest to ressit and with the bloodshed that is happening around them, she really should be focusing on staying alive, but when outside forces are pushing her and Blaze together…who is she to deny that?
I loved this book. I tossed with giving it 5 stars, but I felt that it was a bit to fast paced for me. I had to go back and reread few passages and the relationship between Valerie and Blaze was not moving as fast and I would have liked, but that is my personal opinion, that, and I am also highly impatient.

Katherine Wolff just wants to be a normal teenager. But that’s not to be. She comes from a powerful family of shifters. Ones who have been fighting with another family for a long, long time. When she comes into her powers, she will have to leave her normal life and do what she is told. But she doesn’t want to. Nor does she believe what her elders tell her. Is she right or will she learn just how wrong she was?
This is a wonderful fantasy book filled with shifters, love, loss and plenty of action. The Wolff family is so great, I feel like I want to be a part of this family. Katherine is your normal teenager really. Until she no longer can be. Then she quickly grows up and her family pulls together to protect themselves. The story itself captivates you and does not let go until the end. Then you want to quickly grab the next book!!
A wonderful read, I highly recommend this book to all young adult and older ages.

This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed it. This book has a little bit of everything in it from suspense to romance. There are a few twists and turns that I didn’t see coming that kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. I enjoyed Larkin’s character as she was is this strong woman but there were a few times we got to see a different side of her. I won’t say too much as it will give the story away but I highly recommend this book.

The Only One is the first book in the Brothers of Camelot by Necie Navone. Ms. Navone is a new to me author, but one whom I will definitely be following and reading much more of in the future. This was a surprising find, I didn’t expect to like it quite as much as I did. I loved the cover and the blurb intrigued me, so I knew I would enjoy the story- but I wasn’t prepared for the characters and the story to grab me quite as much as they did. I found Ms. Navone to be a wonderful storyteller, weaving a superb story that plucked at my heart strings, while creating characters who really took on a life of their own- coaxing me into their world end enticing me farther and farther into the book, making me need to know how everything works out. Because of this, I found myself reading long into the night, finishing the book in one sitting, just so I could find out what happened. It was easy to forget the world around me while I was glued to the pages, the story had me firmly in its hold….. and I enjoyed every minute! The book is quite funny, with funny references such as the Henry Peter Longfellow scene, Bella’s cussing attempts (such as, Fudge Boogers) and quite a few funny anecdotes, banter, and teasing. The story was fun and romantic- but there was also an element of suspense and drama that kept things very interesting. Ms. Navone has a sexy and inviting style that really brought the story to life and added some park and sizzle to the whole thing. I loved meeting Bella, Drake, and the rest of the cast- and I can’t wait to read the other Brothers of Camelot’s stories! This book has set the whole series off to a wonderful start! Bring on the next book!

Releasing the Demons is the first book in The Order of the Senary series by L.D Rose. This was the authors debut novel, although she has since written more books. It is a wonderfully original paranormal romance that is a little bit like a cross between X-Men, Buffy, and Blade. There is plenty of action, violence danger and adventure as the story unfolds. This was a great story- well written with a multi-layered plot that kept me engrossed the whole time. The hidden agendas and sinister forces added an extra element of tension and intrigue- while the vampire/human conflict gave the whole book a slight dystopian feel for me (in a good way). Blaze Knight is a genetically engineered mercenary with paranormal abilities- a hybrid who is on a mission to eradicate vampires and protect the human population. He is tormented by his memories of torture and unimaginable horror at the hands of his vampire captors 5 years earlier- as he endured 7 months of hell, wishing for oblivion, before finally being rescued. Now he wreaks his revenge while still trying to put what happened behind him. Circumstances occur that thrust him in the life of a feisty NYPD detective, and his world is tipped on its axis. Valerie Medeiros is a highly trained Detective, who along with her partner, works to keep the vampires from decimating the humans in the city. The human crime rate was non-existent, but the same can’t be said for the vampires. She lost her sister in the most gruesome way and that fuels her quest against the vampires. When bodies begin to stack up, and things take a perplexing turn, Blaze enters the scene, and danger ramps up that will threaten everything. Blaze is one of 6 brothers who all have unique abilities. But, what happens when the hunters become the hunted? Will Blaze and Valerie make it through, or will the sinister forces win out in the end? An original take on the Vampire genre! I look forward to reading the rest of the series!

I LOVED this story! It is definitely one of the best stories that I have read this year! I was hooked from the very beginning and I really didn’t want it to end. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book in the series! The writing was excellent, the characters were amazing! I loved reading Drake and Bella’s story, it was emotional but the connection they had was just amazing. A fantastic friends to lovers story. The secondary characters in the story were also really good and they complemented the main characters so well. The Only One is a beautifully written story that I absolutely adored. I cannot recommend it enough and I am looking forward to the next one!

Who (Stalker #1) by Megan Mitcham was a hooking psychological thriller that will keep you guessing till end.
My first read by this author, I wasn’t sure what to expect, though I like psychological thrillers, I don’t read a lot of them. I got to be in a certain mood. Kind of like, you can’t just binge watch Criminal Minds, it messes with your head. I’ve been on a shifter kick lately and this book was the perfect palate cleanser.
This is a hard one to review, not because of anything bad, but because of how the plot, and subplots are intricately layered, into this deep complex tale, anything, one small detail coudl ruin the story and the intense lingering darkness and suspense. So what do I do? I gush that’s what I do.
The writing was not only easy to follow but had this smoothness to it that just added to the dark tones and hidden messages. It added to that lurking danger, that our MC was never truly alone. It gets your heart pounding and the blood pumping. The attention to detail, and the misdirections were truly something, and if this is a testament to this authors work, then I need to read their others creations.
Overall this book is worth your time, and worth every page, ever word, every letter. It’s fresh, original and pulls you into a false sense of security, cause, you’re not going to see what’s coming. This books gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Releasing the Demons (The Order of the Senary #1) by L.D. Rose was a fast pace, heart pounding thriller that had me hooked from start to finish.
My first read by this author and I was hooked within seconds of reading that gruesome opening. What a way to start an as equally gruesome, dark, supernatural thriller, where vampires are real, they aren’t nice, and are slowly taking out humans at night fall. Every morning the death toll goes up, and no matter what the police do, they can’t get a hold on things.
This book was, wow, once I started reading I could not put it down. Blaze, he was truly the star of this book for me. Yeah sure Valerie was pretty cool and kick ass, but Blaze, and what he went through, his character growth was something else, and though this is told in multi POV, I much preferred Blaze’s narrative.
The worlding building and the way the info of this world was giving, felt natural and at no point did I feel like I was being dumped on or confused. Info was giving when necessary, and at times, not knowing made for better suspense for the reader. Though by the end my heart was ready to explode.
Overall this is a A class read and I can’t wait to dive further into this dark, haunting series. This book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.
