The Discovery of Magic by L.J. Evias is such a wonderful Teen/YA Adult to start of the book series “The Intrigue of Magic”. The book begins a bit slow for me personally, but I do think that a teen would be more appreciative of the beginning as it shows a lot of the mind of a teenager and them just going through each day. Alice and her friends one day are having a picnic when they stumble upon a portal in a cave, which takes them to a different world named Parsas. The book mainly follows the friends as they are trying to figure out this new world and also are trying to get back home. Alice and her friends are seperated from each other, each thrown in this new world in different locations. Each of them is quickly emerged into the war of the North and South, but Alice is thrown into the feeding frenzy of royal court and starts to be weary of her new “allies”.

The author did a wonderful job with world building and character development, my only issue is the speed of the book sometimes felt a little slow and some character interactions felt forced. But otherwise was a wonderful book, and start to a new series. I am intrigued to see where the author takes this series from here.

The catchy rhythm of the words with the rhyming and the repetitive words will have your child chanting along. It has a little bit of everything in it!
Kylian and Gia definitely kept me on the edge my seat. This book made me feel ALL the feels!

I absolutely loved these two together! They start off with a fake relationship but end up being fast friends and helping each other beyond the contract they signed!
The story line was fantastic.
There was definitely some plot twists that I didn’t see coming.

I highly recommend this one!!

A Tale of Two Crushes by Cori Cooper

A Tale of Two Crushes is a YA/Romance that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I finished. This is one of my favorite go to authors, her style of writing along with amazing characters always makes for a wonderful story. Her characters are fun, creative, relatable and fully developed. They really made the story come to life. I’ve read several books by this author and this may be a favorite yet. Holland doesn’t usually have any problems with guys but now she’s crushing on not just one but two guys. They have great chemistry between them. I don’t want to give anything away so I’m gonna highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

London Detective Agency: The Complete Series Boxset is the third instalment in the London Detective Agency series by Stephanie R. Caffrey. It contains the two books that comprise the series (so far), so it’s a fantastic way to binge this romantic suspense series. Ms. Caffrey has produced well written and intriguing tales, imbued with plenty of tension, mystery, danger, investigation, a private investigator element, chemistry, angst, emotion, secrets, and gripping dramatic developments.
–Mistaken Identity (Book #1):
What should have been the opportunity of a lifetime for graduate student Evelyn Stevenson turns sour quite quickly- propelling her into a situation she could never have imagined. With the help of a PI, Evelyn must navigate this new situation, hopefully before it’s too late.
–Be My Little Baby (Book #2):
When Tessa Lopez, who owns a bustling little bakery in London, is targeted by a stalker, the police fail to help her- so she turns to PI James Moore to help put a stop to her torment. I don’t want to spoil it for you, suffice to say that what happens makes for quite a gripping read.
While I really enjoyed the first book, Mistaken Identity, this instalment is even better. It did start off a little slow, but the pace picked up pretty quickly and I was soon pulled into all the intriguing developments.

It’s Cool To Be Kind by Shermaine Perry-Knights is an illustrated story book aimed at children aged 7 to 9 years. It aims to encourage kindness, friendship, and making a difference one small act of kindness at a time. The author also provides games and activities at the end of the book to inspire discussion and reinforce the messages in the book.
Max, Michael, and Martin worry that they don’t have any special skills or abilities- but as the story unfolds, they find they have some pretty serious superpowers which make them very special indeed.
The dedication at the beginning of the story says it all: ‘To the amazing kids who make kindness their superpower, this book is for you! May you always remember the magic of spreading smiles and lifting hearts. Here’s to the kind superheroes of tomorrow- keep shining your light bright!’
The story is accompanied by some cute, bright, and colourful illustrations- which add plenty of interest to the whole book, helping to make it a very engaging read.
An inspiring little story….

“Dylan snagged a marshmallow for himself and stuck it on the stick. They had been at Camp Leaf with their family for three days. Roasting marshmallows—even if it was lunchtime instead of nighttime—was the most fun he’d had.
The trip had been filled with rain.
And bugs.
They hadn’t swum in the lake yet, and the camp games hadn’t started.
Worst of all? There was no Wi-Fi.
There hadn’t even been a mystery for Dylan to solve. Dylan had brought his detective kit. Just in case. He’d gotten it earlier in the summer. It was from his favorite show, The Youth Sleuths.
Dylan pinned his Youth Sleuths detective badge to his shirt every morning. Just like a real detective.
He carried his detective kit on an old tool belt around his waist on every hike. Just like a real detective.
Emily had even been allowed to be his helper.
So far, they’d only been able to ask questions like “When will the rain end?” and “What kind of bug was that?”

Detective Dylan and the Thief of Camp Leaf is the third book in A Youth Sleuths Chapter Book Series by M.J. Murray. This is a children’s chapter book story with a mystery to solve, crime and investigation elements, a whodunit feel, lessons/learning, family, friendship, and a few B & W illustrations sprinkled through the story to help keep young ones engaged. This fun tale also provides some valuable lessons along the way- such as: problem solving, reading and comprehension, expanding vocabulary, promoting fluency, math, and more.
Detective Dylan, his little sister Emily, and trusty companion Theodore (their dog) are with their family, camping at Camp Leaf. We all know how much Dylan loves a good mystery to investigate- but there hasn’t been one for a while now, and Dylan is bored. It hasn’t helped that it has been raining pretty much non-stop since they arrived at camp, and the bugs- don’t mention the bugs. But ever prepared, Dylan has his trusty detective kit with him, in the hope that some exciting mystery might pop that needs solving. And that’s just what happens. Dylan, Emily, and Theodore are on the case, searching for clues, determined to hunt down the missing trophy, and uncover who stole it…
This is aimed at children 5 – 9 who are perhaps just starting to read ‘chapter books’ on their own, or with help- so the story contains a few ‘harder’ words to challenge them along the way (Reading Tier 2).

This is a cute story about second chances in life as a middle-aged woman. Del had run away to Africa to help at the Children of Tanzania Organization. And is hoping to maybe find a little bit of her younger self. Only here she is just hiding from her life and family she ran from. Once she gets settled and is able to see how the organization helps young children, she wants to do more. To be able to give some of the girls here a better life of opportunities. Along the way she becomes friends with several of the follow volunteers and comes to look at them as friends. This of course does not always go without a hitch, since her bosses are 1. a hot celebrity that she can’t help but dream about and the other a royal pain to work with. Del has her doubts about everything she has done in her life and does not think she deserves a second chance at a happy ever after. But who knows stranger things have happened along her adventure.

To Be a Fae Rogue is part of the Realm Chronicles series, this one being the 4th book. Having started on this one i’m definitely going to be heading back to read the previous 3. I feel it would give me a better understanding of everything that happened. Although i didn’t read the others after reading i can say this author’s character and world building was amazingly built. I was instantly drawn in. This story perfectly blends YA fantasy and adventure making for an intriguing read. It follows a young Fae Titania as she navigates the challenges of her world, including dealing with her powers, forging alliances, and confronting adversaries, while she seeks her place in a realm filled with danger. Copeland’s writing is vivid and engaging and i cant wait the read the rest so it can provide me an enjoyable escape into a captivating world. I’m also waiting for the next one to be released 🥰

The Trouble with Possibilities

This is the second book I have read recently with an older woman closer to my age and I was able to relate to her, especially with how she felt during her marriage. It caught me by surprise and that caused me to have to step away from the book for a break.

But I went back in and I’m so glad I did. Delaney won me over from the beginning and I definitely understood a lot of her feelings as a woman and the mother of grown children, but I didn’t have the opportunity to go to Africa to get my head back to where it needed to be.

The hate hate relationship between Del and David was great, there is one scene that stands out after Julia left for a short trip away that may have made me chuckle a few times during and later when I thought about it.

I was pleasantly surprised when I realized this was her first release. This was well written, the characters had depth and an enjoyable story to read. Hope to see more from Ms. Abuhaidar in the future.

Chloe and Nikolai meet by chance at a bar in Toronto during All Star week. After sharing a flirtatious evening and a scorching kiss Nikolai is reminded of his reality by an ill timed phone call. He must remain focused on fighting for custody of his daughter and tells himself he doesn’t have time to pursue a relationship with anyone. Back in Tampa Bay he finds out that Chloe is his coach’s daughter, which means she is off limits to him. Chloe is just starting to get her life back on track after losing her husband. When Chloe ends up helping Nikolai with his custody case and becoming a temporary nanny for his daughter, Ayana, lines become blurred. Will Nikolai be able to let go and allow himself to love Chloe?

I loved this storyline and absolutely am obsessed with this book! Chloe and Nikolai were so well written. I enjoyed their banter and their chemistry. It was so refreshing to read a book featuring a female main character who is strong, beautiful, and over 40. I could not put this book down and when it ended I wanted more! This was the first book I read by this author duo and I will definitely be going back and reading the first two books from this series as well.

To be a Fae Rogue is the fourth book in the Realm Chronicles. I have loved the previous three books so I was excited to read more of Titania’s story! You should definitely read this series from the start, beginning with To be a Fae Queen.

The most important thing for me is that Alfreda’s back! My absolute favourite character in this series, it’s always wonderful when she pops up! There are a nice variety of characters around, and Titania gets plenty of moments to shine as she works to protect everyone from Sonia’s powers.

This is a great series for teen readers. It’s also enjoyable for adults who are fans of fantasy! I’d recommend it to readers who enjoy magical fantasy worlds and fairytales.

To be a Fae Rogue gets five stars from me. I can’t wait to read more of this series!

Oh my gosh, this book was adorable and funny. A great conversation starter for the little ones. We laughed at each item Luca thought would happen if he ate a drop of glue. Wonderful story and lots of laughs. The illustrations went perfectly with the story and were bright and vibrant. This is a great one to add to childs collection.

Please make sure you read trigger warnings or look into trigger warnings. Your mental wellbeing is more important. As the cover says small town, and small town indeed. We have all driven through a small town in which we do not feel welcome. This is that story. This story is almost 400 pages as well. It kept my attention and made you physically tense. It also made me turn the light on that stands next to my bed.

What a cool and original story. I really liked how fast paced this read was while also being super interesting. It’s a story about a vampire getting a second chance to live after being unjustly killed but while also have a time limit and rules to follow. You get all the details you need to understand the story and I wasn’t sure what was going to happen but read through it quickly to find out! Such a great paranormal romance quick read. Definitely enjoyed reading this!

This book is a another great addition to the series. As the fifth book, I would definitely recommend reading the other in the series before this one to ensure you get a full understanding, and therefore full enjoyment, out of it. It was great to be back in this world with characters who feel so familiar.
As with the other books, so much happens in this one. I felt like there were new twists on each page and I was fully engaged with everything going on. It is an interesting story that pulls you in with ease. I would definitely recommend this whole series to people.

This book is a brilliantly fun children’s book, and is one I never would have guessed we needed. Taking what could be a relatively boring topic (rivers and streams), the author has created a lovely and engaging story that is perfect for kids. It allows them to learn a bit more about them in an exciting way, with some gorgeous illustrations to go along with the story.
I thought this book really played perfectly into a kids intuitive nature. It encouraged them to ask how and why and to learn something new. I thought this was a fantastic book and another hit from this author.

I really enjoyed reading this story with my grandson. We are working on social skills so it opened up a lot of questions for him. It’s a really fun and entertaining story. It’s a great age group to get the message to.
