This is an intriguing story that I knew I had to try from the moment I read the description. The author has certainly thrown some twists and turns in there to try and keep you on your toes. The book has quite a slow pace to it, which I wasn’t expecting and it and it made it a little harder to engage with initially. However, I did still find myself following the story and wanting to know how things were going to turn out. This is a new author to me and I think this is a good place to have started. This book really gives an insight into her writing style and I definitely enjoyed it overall. I am looking forward to discovering more of this authors work.
This is such a helpful book, offering guidance and advice to any would be historical romance authors. The author takes you through all of the stages you will encounter on this writing journey and manages it in such an easy and informative way. Tasks are provided periodically throughout the book which help put into practice what you have learnt. Writing a book is always something I wished I could do and books like this make it feel possible. I really enjoyed seeing the other side of this process and all of the aspects involved. This was a brilliant book and a really helpful tool for anyone ready to start their journey.

Many share their stories of how when they first started, they received stacks and stacks of rejection letters from publishers. Many authors recall how friends and family laughed at them or mocked them for wanting to become a writer. Yet, despite all the rejection and the mocking they never gave up their dream of becoming a published author.
Whether it be years ago, in a time prior to Indie publishing, when they were trying to find a traditional publishing house, or now with self publishing options so widely available, there is a lot to learn. These authors share their vast wealth of knowledge and give tips and pointers on what it takes to be an author. Not only are we offered support and words of encouragement, but we are able to learn from mistakes they may have made on their own personal journey.
Of course, the one prevalent theme throughout is to just sit your butt in the chair and write. Whether it is just for a few minutes, or even just writing one sentence, but just write something. They also give tips on finding the time to write when you feel that your life is just too busy. Beyond the words of encouragement are invaluable pointers on not just the writing process but the publishing process as well.
Throughout the book is the common theme of never giving up and of believing in yourself, even when others do not. No matter how many rejection letters you receive do not give up. No matter how many people mock you for your dream do not give up. No matter how little time you have in your day do not give up. No matter what, sit your butt in the chair, write, and never give up on your dreams. As numerous authors said throughout the book, as long as you are writing, you are a writer. OMGosh! Another heartwarming showstopping story in this series and from this author. I could not love this series more! The writing is impeccable and filled with emotion that flies off the pages. The characters are full of heart and emotion. I love the whole family dynamic. I completely bonded with Elyse in here as she has not seen her family in years and is surprised at how together the Bennett family rallies. Seeing her watch his family and learn how to count on them as her own makes her yearn to reconnect with her own family. I love that Walt tells her that “the power to make that change is all hers”. Very strong words.
These books are some of my favorites to read. I actually devoured this one in a day.(24 hrs). The family together is one of my favorite things. Also that they run a Christmas tree farm but also grow wine that we always learn a bit about. Very cool as it covers year around financially. Plus Walt smelling of pine..who could turn that down. That epilogue really made my heart pitter patter and tears to my eyes! Well done!

Loretta loves being outside in her garden and she is always discovering new things and today is no exception, Loretta is running down the garden, past the milkweed plants when she finds something she has never seen before. When she takes it to her parents to find out what it is, she discovers that it is a monarch butterfly caterpillar and is told to put it back where she found it, Loreta does this and decides that she wants to help it grow, so everyday she goes down to the milk weed to see her caterpillar and while doing this, she protects it from a bird, a lizard and a wasp as it grows.
Will Loretta be able to protect her caterpillar so that it can grow into a beautiful butterfly and can she learn about monarch butterflies at the same time? This is another fun and informative book in this series for all ages, with lovely illustrations which make it easy to learn and retain the information.
Loretta loves to look out her window and watch all of the beautiful butterflies flying around. When she wakes up one morning and all of the butterflies are gone she becomes concerned. She goes outside to see what happened and finds a leaf with a tiny egg on it. The egg is from a Monarch butterfly and she is determined to take care of it and watch it grow. She protects the egg from a bird, a wasp and even a lizard as it grows and goes through metamorphosis. Loretta is thrilled when it finally turns into a beautiful butterfly and flies away to go through its migration journey.
I adore the stories that this author writes and find myself wishing that I had these books for when my children were little. Up until reading this book, my favorite book by this author was Bees in Loretta’s Bonnet. Now, I am adding this book at the top of my list of favorites. As with every book by this amazing author it is beautifully illustrated which really brings the story to life.
In all of this author’s books I learn something new and this one was no different. I was fascinated to learn that it took five generations of butterflies to migrate from the United States to Canada! I also learned the difference between a female butterfly and a male butterfly. I had no idea that there was a difference. Children of all ages will love this cute story about the life cycle of a butterfly from egg to metamorphosis to migration. I highly recommend!

Lady Aubrianne does not trust her husband, and his increasingly frequent absences seem to be proving true with the investigative help of Larkin. This is a wonderful whirlwind fantasy romance, with lots of twists and turns, and some awesome spicy scenes, too! I highly suggest taking some time and reading this through. I know I am looking forward to the next book in the series!!

This is the third book in the wonderful science series by this author that I have read. Just as the previous two books were, this was just as educational and filled with facts and details about caterpillars. I love how she incorporates the tiniest details into her stories and makes them so interesting and entertaining. Once again, the illustrations are beautiful and coincide with the story perfectly. This is another book that encourages parents and children to get out and explore nature and see the wonder and beauty all around you. Remarkable story for kids.
This was most definitely a page turner from the start. I felt so bad for Jacklyn, first to lose her husband and then be stuck at the “retreat.” I knew it had to be a creepy place when her young grandson even said he wouldn’t like it. There are twists and turns in this well written psychological thriller. I didn’t realize it was part of a series, so I will be continuing on with it, and recommending it to others!

This book is completely not in my wheel house at all. I first don’t normally read historical romance or western. That said, this book was amazing. It is a long book but I loved it because it doesn’t feel long while you are reading it. It is a quick read for its length so don’t let that distract your from reading it. The way this book is written is what sells me so much on it. It takes turns that you don’t see coming and has you on the edge of your seat the further you get into the story line. The intrigue that you enter when Simon starts to figure out his sexuality in a time period that it was not common and banned, brings you understanding of what it might have been like during that time. The way things unfold in this book kept my interest the whole way through. The self discovery, the feeling of being bored and complacent, and the will to do something dangerous is what had me hooked, line, and sinker. I am not one to really read westerns or even watch one but this one appealed to me because of the darker nature that was described in the book synopsis. The mystery in the book is there and it is a slow build. I feel like the first few chapters are a little slow but it completely picks up and you find yourself lost int he land of outlaws. The murder mystery will have you guessing every character that is in the story and there are a lot of them. It seems like it could be anyone and the mystery man in black that haunts Simon’s dreams……complete plot twist because it not only gets you thinking in one direction while dropping seeds of doubt in other directions. I found myself not knowing what I thought I knew. This made the book so much, much more than just a story to read. It almost felt as if I was going into this time period and living it right along with the characters. If you have a weekend that you need a break consider this book!! You wont disappointed and don’t let the length scare you off because after the first few chapters, the pages will just continue to turn without you realizing that you are turning them. Noah Pierce is one of the Pierce brothers but he’s the quiet grumpy one. He pretty much stays to himself and works more then anything. He loves his life and wouldn’t change it for anything…by choice anyway. When Noah’s long time best friend passes away I expectedly he is granted custody of her infant daughter Amelia. Noah doesn’t know the first thing about having a 7 month old baby loving with him and needs major help. His brothers come together to try to help Him as best they can. One of his brother Seth along with his sister in law Victoria stop to pick up Amy on the way. She’s like a baby whisperer when it comes to Amelia. Noah offers her a job as Amelia’s nanny for a few months until she goes back to school and they can reach Amelia’s grandparents. Noah and Amy spend alot of time together but Noah is very hot and cold. Amy is great for Both Amelia and Noah. She pushes Noah to do things he might now do if it wasn’t for her. Amelia loves Amy and Amy loves her as if she was her own child. They all seem To fit into their roles great until that one night Amy and Noah are on a date and Amelia gets sick. A lot is said and a lot happens that night. Will Amy ever be able to get over what Noah says that night? I thought this book was well written and cannot wait for more of the Pierce brothers.

This is a nice book that teaches children about the life of a butterfly. It explains the different stages in the life of a butterfly and its migration pattern. The story is simple and easy to follow and explains each new phase in a way that keeps the attention of young children. They get to understand and enjoy facts about a beautiful insect. I also liked the science facts that are listed after the story giving the young readers more information about the butterfly while still making it interesting.
This was my second children’s book by Lois and she did not disappoint. She took the classic story of Hansel and Gretel and gave it a polite rewrite. It has many values for children to learn and is very fun and informative at the same time. Maybe it isn’t a witch after all but an elderly woman needing help.

Shadow Wolf brings you into the tale of a human and a shifter, with the human as always being naive. This story keeps you reading by being on the brink of finding out what is so important about Tamaska. A good story with good r rated scenes. Another wonderful story from this author featuring Loretta. This book would 100% be a perfect addition to topics on the life cycle of a butterfly. It was explained really well and would be so engaging for young children. The story was really lovely whilst explaining everything so well about how caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies. It is easy for children to follow with many talking points available. I love that at the end of the books the author always includes an activity for children to try at home.
Loretta’s Caterpillar (Loretta’s Insects) by Lois Wickstrom. I have loved this cute series so much. Its the perfect books for gifting and reading to young children. My nephews 5 and 9 have really enjoyed them as well. This one is the story of Loretta and her love for insects. She finds a caterpillar and she takes care of it until it hatches. She protects it from several predators and tries her best to keep it safe. This book explains the life of a Monarch butterfly and even teaches us the difference between a male and female. We also learn their migration patterns. This is such a fun book for kids. It would make the perfect gift for the young child in our life.
Great read, excellent guide. This is a really thought out and informative book. I really like how the author laid out the different steps to getting started writing a book, makes it sound so easy. I really thought I could start to write a book after reading this, no kidding. There are links to different website that will help along your publishing and editing journey and tips and tricks on how to research and what to look for in regards to your topic. I also found myself very intrigued by some history I learned along the way in the examples used. This author is funny, I like the little comments left in different areas and very knowledgable and helpful. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to start their adventures in writing historical novels.

Wow. This book was such a god read. I rode the rollercoaster of emotions with this one. The twists and turns and budding love got me hard. Grace has the weight of the world on her shoulders and doesn’t think she can accept help especially from Ryan. It isn’t what she envisioned for her farm. The character growth is *chefs Kiss* and I probably cried more than I care to admit. It was sweet, exciting, and in a sense relatable! Loved this one!!!

Interesting read. Weird in a good way. Do I want to be floated up to an alien spaceship? Yes, yes I do. I thought the story was really fun in regards to June and Sarge going on missions to help the aliens. It was also cool that her kids, Cora and Liv were so excited and ready to assist in anything they needed. They both seem like great girls and very intelligent, especially with the work Liv was doing to help her dad. I kind of didn’t like June, and kind of thought it was weird that she was with Sarge, it seems like they have more than just a partner relationship and friendship. I don’t know if I could ever be romantically involved with someone else while my husband was in a bed, and I couldn’t understand why the girls were so okay with it all. Overall a fun story in regards to the adventures they all have, the research done on brainwaves and all of the fun characters introduced along the way.

I love mm romance and add in the paranormal element, and it’s perfect. Byron and Kai are the cutest together. It was sad to see how Kai was coping after the loss of Julian but beautiful to see him be able to open up and love someone again. They both feel something between each other when they first meet but it takes a minute for them to finally give into their hearts and it was so fun watching them grow together. The ending had my heart ripping open, I wasn’t sure where the author was going with them both meeting Nash, but it hurt so good. I can’t wait for the next book!
I never thought I was going to be into short series like this one but I have to say I was drawn into Riley and Cole from the start. The author Isla Vaughn did an amazing job! Who knew that a woman like Riley can hold so long her V-Card (funny way to say her precious gift)? Love it how Cole, a hot guy like him can get any girls he wants was drawn into Riley but they were enemies from the start funny life, but love has its way.
This was a cute spin on the story of Hansel and Gretel. The artwork is very eye catching and fun to look at while reading. I like that the witch in the story wasn’t a mean witch or a bad witch, but just a witch who needed help to win the contest. Gretel is sweet wanting to stop and sketch all the animals she sees, it is a good lesson to teach children about different animals when they go out walking, keeping them interested in the world around them.

This book was excellent. It built and burnt slow, the character progression was amazing and it was just a really good ebb and flow of a read. I devoured it totally, I was obsessed with Dean and Rae and the enemies to lovers dynamic with the mix of love triangle. It had it all and was genuinely happy when it finished!

This is the second book in The Virus Of Beauty series. I would highly recommend reading the first book as this book follows on from it and you will get a better enjoyment of the story. This is an action packed YA fantasy adventure. It is very fast paced and is full of magic and danger. The war between witches and wizards is worse than ever and Wilf is being blamed for something he didn’t do. I felt sorry for Wilf. He doesn’t want to be a wizard. He wants to be a normal kid with normal kid problems. That all changes however when Katryn is kidnapped he now has to embrace his wizard powers if he hopes to get her back.
It is a good fantasy read which is captivating from start to end.
