Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds, #1)Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison is the first book in The Lochlann Feuds Book series. This is my first book by these authors, and I was not disappointed. Rowen is a strong and interesting princess character. I like that the story stays away from all the tropes typical in this genre. Instead, the story leads an interesting and original path. The story is a great read that I didn’t want to put down. Also, the story ends on a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Royalty, Romance and Retribution.
Wow! What a roller coaster of a ride. This book took awhile to build momentum and even then it dipped in spots. Now that the world, characters and premise is established I am looking forward to seeing where the story goes in book 2. I really liked Rowan and I know that she is going to be a force to be reckoned with after that cliffy.

What an amazing novel!! It captures your mind from the very beginning and keeps you in its grasp all the way through and for many hours afterwards. I was unaware this was a series so when I tried turning the page, on what looked like a new chapter on kindle, I was shocked, dismayed and instantly went looking for book 2. It’s not out yet so I have added it to my must have list. Rowan, Theo, and the rest of the characters have transformed the way romance stories usually happen. I loved all the plot twists and turns. The Princess’s plight at the end will leave you twiddling your thumbs and obsessed with watching the calendar until the next book is due out. Happy reading!!

I devoured this book! I couldn’t get enough of the story line and really connected with the main character. When Princess Rowan and her cousin Davin make the poor choice of buying bootleg vodka from a kingdom they are not supposed to be in, they are caught, drugged and facing death at the hands of their captors. When their captors, Clan Elk find out who they have captured, they realize they must call a Summit to decide what must be done with her.

It quickly becomes apparent that Rowan does not fit into her new surroundings here in Socarian. Women in this kingdom are expected to be demure and defer to the men. Rowan is outspoken, mischievous and even her fiery hair can not be understated. This book is a rollercoaster of emotions that will keep you on the edge of your seat and I loved every second of it.

There are only a handful of times I have finished a book and was left wanting more! Scarlet Princess is an exciting story of a princess taken prisoner by the clan that her family defeated years before. Will she survive to see her family again? How can she feel the way she does for her captor and enemy? I read this book in one setting, not getting anything else done until I finished it. I found myself laughing out loud at the bantering between Princess Rowan and Lord Theodore. This book takes an unexpected turn at the end and I cannot wait for the next book. Wonderful characters and an exciting storyline. I highly recommend this book. Scarlet Princess is the first book of the Lochlann Feuds series and follows the Lochlann Treaty series, but can be read as a stand-alone.

Princess Rowan and her cousin Davin go on a smuggling mission and end up trapped in the tunnels separating their home and enemy lands. When they are captured and taken into the home of Clan Elk, Rowan finds herself in a life or death situation. This book has all the world building and story telling you could want, including enemies to lovers, the one-bed trope and a hell of a cliffhanger.

Scarlet Princess (Lochlann Feuds Book 1) by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison – Review by Allyson Ware

It all starts with a few bottles of vodka and bright red hair. What an adventure. I swear I was watching a tv show, not reading a book. The writers are immaculate at what they do. I truly cannot put into words how excited and anxious I am to read the second book. This series could become my new favorite, and that is saying something considering how much I adore Harry Potter.

Rowan is perfect. Her personality is so bubbly that you cannot help but love her, even though she might be a little over the top. And for her to find someone that has the exact opposite personality, it is really curious how they got along so well. I want to re-read this right after finishing it because I want to find out what I missed while reading it the first time. Maybe I am a little obsessed, but that’s okay, right?

Scarlet Princess was incredible! I honestly couldn’t put this book down! It was completely enthralling and honestly addicting from the first page and chapter. This book was romantic, hilarious, thrilling and extremely entertaining. Reading this book went so quickly. I absolutely loved the main character Rowan. She had the most feisty personality that gets her into trouble but I don’t think I would love her if she didn’t. I absolutely can not wait for the next installment of this series to come out. The cliff hanger definitely left me wanting more!

I’ve realized after reading this novel that this is the second generation from the Lochlann feuds. Princess Rowan is a very strong and independent young lady that is comical, sarcastic and witty. The two feuding kingdoms don’t seem too far off from each other, and yet they are completely different. As a mother of four girls, I would say that this book is clean enough for most teens. There is a bit of romance in it, but nothing too dirty.

Scarlet Princess is the first book in the Lochlann Feuds series. Rowan, princess of Lochlann, is completely headstrong, but this time she has landed herself in the hands of the enemy. Will she die because of her missteps or will she find something else all together? I flew through this book. I was captured by this story. The only thing bad I found was I now have to wait for the 2nd book.

Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds #1) by Robin D. Mahle & Elle Madison

This is the first book I’ve read by Madison and Mahle. This is the first book in The Lochlann Feuds Series. Theo and Rowan are an amazing couple and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Rowan is a Princess and next in line for the throne. When she and her cousin decide to meet with a smuggler to get some vodka things go south. She tries to talk her way out of it, but instead calls for her captor. The quote I chose for Rowan is: “Do you take everything seriously? I’m surprised you even know what a joke is.”

Theo is the brother of the Lord of the Clan. When he finds Rowan is a Princess things change. He wants her, but is not sure she wants him. The quote I chose for Theo is: “It will be fine, Rowan. I won’t let them vote against you. I promise, I’ll protect you.”

Highly recommended for YA Historical Romance

A Summit has been called due to her crimes and she decides it is best for her to be the only on trial at the Summit. However all of the time spent with Lord Theo has them falling in love with eachother which could be her escape from death. However one of the other clans calls for a blood oath as a stake to Princess Rowan. Cannot wait for book 2 to see what happens after the Summit. Such an easy and captivating read. The characters- they are just wonderful and animated. I adore Rowan’s hilarious witty remarks and Theo’s exasperation at her antics. I had a few good laughs and still chuckle at the thought of “weather toe”.

I’m fully invested in this series and am prepared to further neglect adult responsibilities to see what happens next. November 2021 can’t come soon enough for book 2 to come out!

Stars, this book is truly enthralling.
Scarlett is the lovable and incorrigible princess of Lochlann who finds herself in enemy territory, facing potential death. When she befriends Lord Theodore, she must call into question everything she believes is true. Are the Socairans really so different?
Scarlett Princess is a highly enjoyable read that I found myself unable to put down. I read it in one day, and once finished, found myself immediately searching for book two in the installment.
This novel has something for everyone, with battle scenes, a strong female lead, slow-burn romance, world-building, witty humor, and delightful characters.
Highly recommended!

Wow let me tell you, this book was so intriguing! This book is the setup to this series so this book is very heavy on world building but it does not slow it down at all! Sometimes when authors have so much to set up and that it requires loads of world building it can be complicated to maintain reader engagement. Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison however did so fantastic and I never felt like I was struggling to read or stay engaged, I was quite the opposite actually I couldn’t put the book down! I can’t wait to read the next book. This is going to be such a great series, I feel it in my bones! Read this book, I really can’t recommend this book enough!

Scarlet Princess
(The Lachlan Feuds) Book 1
By: Robin D. Mahle & Elle Madison
Genre: Renaissance Historical Fiction & Romance
Pages: 230

I have read a lot of fiction in my 29 years of life. This read seemed fresh and new and I very much enjoyed it.
There was an idea of mystery and adventure in the plot of danger. I have always been a fan of historical fiction and the authors took the time to detail the actions and features of each character to being you into the story with them.
There are some omg moments that suck you in and you just have to keep reading l. As a series fanatic I cannot wait to read book 2. Four stars well deserved and recommended.
This read will teach you the lesson of thieves and have you wanting to be a princess. Do you think royalty has more fun?!

“It was more clear by the hour that this was not a place for a girl from Lochlann.”

Scarlet Princess (Lochlann Feuds Book 1) by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison is just purely and simply amazing. I loved this book from the very first sentence to the very last word. Rowan is a second generation Lochlann and this book takes place about 20 years after Robin D. Mahle’s and Elle Madison’s book Lochlann Treaty. While you could read the first book it is not a necessity as Ms. Mahle and Ms. Madison gives us a great plot, a fiery, feisty, and full of attitude princess, as well as other fantastic characters. While this is my first reading by these two I am quickly learning that they love to leave their readers with a cliffhanger, and this reader for one can’t wait to see what happens next.

I read this book in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down it was so good and I’m a little miffed that I have to wait for the next one as there was a cliffhanger ending!!
Princess Rowan of Lochlann is the type of girl I could be friends with. She’s quirky, outspoken, desire driven and has a heart that is surprisingly bigger than her mouth. She’s also really good at landing herself in trouble which is where we start off in this story.
She is captured by her family’s enemies, the Elk Clan of the Socarian people. These two regions have had conflict since before Rowan was born, so she finds herself at odds between how she feels and how she should feel as Lord Theodore, the heir to Elk Clan escorts her to her freedom or her demise. I definitely cannot wait for the next book and will have that preorder button set for sure!

GREAT start to a trilogy I look forward to devouring. I was hooked from the start, when we meet our rebel princess being captured in enemy lands after an attempt to smuggle contraband alcohol. She is a sassy, brave, and intelligent girl of 17, who is entangled in the Socairan justice system, which is much more heavy-handed than her own. She attempts to pretend to be as demure as the women of Socair, but can she hold her tongue long enough to be set free? This was a great journey, loved watching Rowan cause the men to blush and being anything but the well-trained lady. Loved the characters, including the friend she makes from another Socair clan, and the villain who angles for her death. Very well-written, great heroine, and fun plot. I’m going to have to go back and read the other books from the Lochlann Treaty!

I really enjoyed this story. It was exciting and captivating from the first page to the last. I loved the romance element. How two people fall in love when they really shouldn’t. The author does an amazing job bring the characters to life. Princess Rowan is a great character. I like her because she is headstrong and very strong willed. She has a great sense of humour which comes through the pages.

Princess Rowan is a risk taker and when she takes a risk, her and her cousin end up getting captured by a rival clan. Now facing the realisation that she may lose her life she plans to enjoy the time she has left. What she doesn’t expect is to fall on love with a man from this rival clan.

Unable to deny their feelings they have some problems to cover come. Namely will this clan ever accept Rowan as one of their own or will the union between the couple start off another war between both sides  or could it finally be the things to bring the sides together and for peace?

Scarlet Princess (The Lochlann Feuds, #1)Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle

This was such a fun book to read. Princess Rowan is most likely the black sheep of the family who has the right amount of sass and is an out-spoken, strong willed, independent princess who just can’t seem to stay out of trouble with her cousin Davin usually by her side. She falls in love with Lord Theodore who is everything a backwards Socairan Lord should be but finds a soft spot for the fairy Princess.
Scarlet Princess is a romantic, high fantasy adventure that I enjoyed so much that I could not put down. The writing and editing are great, allowing the story to be truly immersive. The twist and turns that this book took was incredible and always made you guess as to what was going to happen next.
This book leaves you on a cliff hanger and you will be wanting more. It was an amazing read, and so very easy to get sucked into the story line and get lost in. I love how the story was written, which is what captivated me into it. The writing and technique truly spoke for itself and I anxiously am awaiting to see what unfolds in the next book in this amazing series! I would recommend this book and look forward to the next.
