Matching Miriam by Mya O’Malley

I have read several books by Ms. O’Malley and throughly enjoyed each one of them and how several are connected and this one was no different. I’m not a big fan of ghosts or the paranormal but I find myself making sure I read Ms. O’Malley’s books when I see she has a new one.  Each of these can be read as a standalone but they are connected to other books and they are referenced.

Miriam is as tough as nails as they come, but when you are a female in a male dominated profession like being a Police Detective she has no choice, but we learn there is so much more to her.  She’s hunting a killer and I was floored by the ending.  Last person I expected it to be which made me like this book that much more.  I hate predictable storyline and this was anything but.

I of course loved seeing Zelda (the cat) and meeting the two kittens. Animals tend to be my favorite characters regardless,  but when their personalities are as apparent as they are in this it makes me love them more.

I want to know what happens with a few people and I’m hoping to see their story eventually, hopefully sooner than later.

Jordan’s Justice: A New Adult Sport Romance (Tessa and Jordan Book 2) by T. Christensen

I was patiently (well as patiently as I can) waiting for this books release since I finished the first.  I was not disappointed and could not put it down.  It’s been a long time since read a book in a day but this one I couldn’t put down.  I couldn’t wait to see what happened with Jordan and Tessa.

This book is set four years after the last ended and there was no playing around, got straight to the story and we got to read everything unfold.

I wish Lindy was in it more, but I do hope she gets her own book.  There are so many things to talk about but I won’t mention them due to how they are part of the story.

This is part two of a series and you must read the first book to have any understanding what’s going on here and I highly recommend both of these books, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Rick: Ingram Brothers #3 by Roz Lee

Rick Ingram is youngest of the three boys and from what I can tell is the most guarded of the three but that makes sense since he feels like he has to keep his entire life a secret from everyone.   I haven’t read the first two books in this series yet so I’m guessing here.

There are so many things about this book that I really enjoyed and holy smokes Rick and Brett have some incredibly hot moments.  I think there was smoke coming from my kindle a few times whole reading.

Rick’s feelings aren’t uncommon which is heartbreaking to me.  I think he was comfortable with who he was, but not with sharing that side of himself with anyone. Nobody should have to hide their true self out of fear of how people will feel about them.   I hope there is a time where everyone is able to be their true self at all times.

Ms. Lee is a new to me author and I really enjoyed reading this book.  I plan on looking at her catalog and reading other books by her.

Moonlit Mirage (A Cook Islands Romance) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Robin Rankin

Moonlit Mirage: A Cook Islands Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley

I have had the pleasure of reading a few books by Ms. McKinley,  but until this book I had not had the pleasure of listening to one until this one.  I throughly enjoyed the story as well as the narrator (Regan Brown) being able to grab and keep my attention.

Cade and Nadia’s story has romance, suspense and second chances all while in paradise

I loved the connection to a previous series and gasped when I caught it.  This is a quick listen and quite enjoyable.   Looking forward to listening to more.

Irresistible Christmas – Pets to the Rescue (Irresistible Romance Book 6) ANTHOLOGY – Review by Robin Rankin

IRRESISTIBLE AT CHRISTMAS (Irresistible Romance Book 2)IRRESISTIBLE AT CHRISTMAS by Tamara Ferguson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

IRRESISTIBLE CHRISTMAS – PETS TO THE RESCUE ANTHOLOGY

I have no idea what we as humans did to deserve the love we get from our pets but I’m so happy to have the live of my two dogs as well as all of the other pets in my life.  There is just something about a story with a pet involved that makes me love it just a little more.

The story I’m going to highlight is Two Hearts Christmas Rescue by Tamara Ferguson which is the seventeenth book in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance.

Kinley is new to Crystal Rock, she’s been hired to run the animal shelter, specifically the Wounded Warrior program which will pair up animals and Veterans.

Jake is back in Crystal Rock on an assignment and while there is helping out at the shelter.   He has no idea that someone from his past will come back into his life.

I really enjoyed the story but the animals were the stars as far as I’m concerned.   Buster and McTavish had amazing and large personalities they both stole my heart.

Corporate Christmas by Bernadette Marie

I tend to stay away from Christmas books because it’s not my favorite, but the synopsis convinced me to give it a try and I’m so glad I did.  It’s Christmasy but not overboard.

Chloe is like a lot of professional women busts her butt only to get overlooked for the big promotion,  but this time it worked in her favor.

Jason walked into the new job not knowing what to expect.  He got more than he bargained for in the best way.

Ms. Marie is a new to me author though she has released several books.  I’m so glad I didn’t avoid this Christmas book and have discovered a new author.

All I Want for Christmas: Military Romance Short Story by Vivian Fiano

What a sweet story.  You could feel and sadness from both Kinsley and Bryson.  Kinsley is crushed by the call she gets as she should be, but I could understand why she was feeling some guilt too after they hung up.

I really admire our military service men and women who have to spend long periods of time away from the family, but the spouses, significant others, parents,  kids, etc. are just amazing and I have no clue how they get through all that time apart.

If you find yourself with about an hour with nothing to do, try this sweet story.

Urban Justice (A Chicago Vigilantes Novel Book 2) by India Kells

Sloane plays the loner well, she is so used to it and isn’t sure what to do when someone tries to help her out.  She takes on so much instead of allowing her team to step in and help her which in her line of work is stupid .

Luke is the sexy professor and if I were in college I would definitely take his class no matter the subject.   He has knowledge that Sloane and her team needs to continue tracking how Phantom is being brought into Chicago.

There were some incredibly hot moments all through the book, but holy cow that first was smoking.

I have really enjoyed the first two books in this series and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Gianluca (Marini Family #1)Gianluca by Isabella Cassazza
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gianluca: A Standalone Enemies-to-Lovers Office Romance (Marini Family Romance Book 1) by Isabella Cassazza

I was introduced to Gianluca in Center of Gravity and thought he was an angry jerk who was determined to make everyone around him as angry and miserable as he was.  That feeling didn’t go away while reading this book.  But now I understand why he is the way he is not that I agree with it.  He does eventually grow on me.

Callie grabbed me from the moment I was introduced to her.  She has been through so much in her young life, more than young women her age should have to deal with.  But she hasn’t let any of it beat her down.  If anything I think it helped her become the strong woman she is.

This book went from some hot moments to me wanting to punch Gianluca almost immediately after.  But that didn’t take anything away from my enjoyment.

I can’t wait to read the other Marini Siblings stories and learn more about each of them.  Waiting patiently for the next book in this series.

The Sound of Silence (Leave Me Breathless) by Dakota Willink

Oh my goodness! This book was absolutely amazing.   I couldn’t put it down once I started reading and managed to drop my kindle on my face a time or two as I fought to stay awake and continue reading.

Gianna is one of the strongest characters i have had the pleasure reading about in a while.  She refused to give up even when she would have been justified to do so.  How she dealt with everything as long as she did I will never understand, but thankfully I never have been in that situation.

Derek is important to the story, but I just can’t get over my feelings towards Gianna, I might have a bit of a crush in her.

This is not a book for the faint of heart.  There were some things that were incredibly difficult to read.  My heart and admiration go out to every survivor out there.

At Last: Adams Brothers: Book 1 by Mindy McKinley

I don’t even know where to start there are so many things I want to mention.

First,  all books taking place in Chicago must have the characters love the Cubs. 😁

Second, holy cow.  Totally didn’t expect things to play out the way they did for Lula and finding her father.  Think the build up was well written and it left me wanting more.

Third, where can I find a guy like Dom for my daughter?   If she were to bring home such a well mannered man who feels the way he does about family it would make me soooo happy.

I throughly enjoyed this book and wish I had read it slower to savor instead of reading as fast as i could to find out what happens next.

Looking forward to the next book.

Grumbler’s Ride: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #2 by Manda Mellet

I have loved every one of the Satan’s Devils books I have read, but think San Diego is my favorite of the branches at least so far.  I can relate age wise with first Patsy and now Mary.  Don’t get me wrong,  I love the stories about the younger members it’s nice to have someone in my age range that I can relate to more.

As the mother of two daughters this story stressed me out. I have no idea what I would have done in Mary’s shoes.  I do think it wouldn’t have been the same since I don’t have a hot biker in my life.

I cannot get enough of this series and can’t wait for the next book to be released.

Oh my goodness this book was worth every second of lost sleep.  I loved Josie! She made my heart happy and would make me smile almost every time she was involved.

Addie and Jake have gone through so much since the last time they saw each other and both have a lot to make up for.

This book is about second chances and how to clean up the messes left by secrets.

I have had the pleasure of reading Ms. Gardner before and look forward to reading more by her in the future.

A Merry Texan Christmas (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Book 3) by Nicole Flockton

The third and final Prentice brother is back home in Sweet Ridge, Texas after many years away.  There is so much he has to do now that he’s home and around his family.

If you have read the first two in this series you know about the history with the Prentice Brothers.   Trey is the missing piece in this family puzzle.  He is so different from the boy who left Texas for baseball.  Will the man find his way?

Maggie is everything I usually don’t like. Not much of a Christmas person and those happy Christmas people drive me insane normally.   I loved Maggie.  It could be my cynical heart has started to thaw after this crazy year or I’m desperate for happiness.   Who knows, but I really enjoyed reading this book.

I got the impression that this is the final in this series,  but would love to see more stories from this amazing small town in a State I love so much

Breaking Tessa: A College Sport Romance by T. Christensen

I’m not a fan of cliffhangers because I have little patience and want to know what happens now and the idea of having to wait drives me insane to the point that I usually avoid them.  When reading the synopsis I missed the bottom paragraph mentioning it was one and I’m so glad I did.

The thought of not reading this book actually makes me sad.  I fell in love with Jordan and Tessa from the moment they met.  She’s the wallflower and he’s the jock and they somehow make it work.

I think my favorite scene was the party at the beginning and Lindy.   She is an amazing supporting character and hope to see more of her in the next book and maybe get her own book.

I’m dying to know what happens!  How am I going to survive this wait?  I’m hoping it will only be a few months and not several before the next book is released.

Love Surreptitiously by Tarrah Anders

I was intrigued when I read the synopsis. There was something that grabbed me and I’m glad it did.  Ms. Anders is a new to me author, so I wasn’t sure what her writing style was and was happy from the very beginning with her style.   I tend to lean towards the funny and sarcastic characters and Sydney was definitely one of those.

I loved the way Sydney and Quinlan meet, there is something charming and sort of realistic about the scenario.  I think of all of the supporting characters Kady was my favorite.   I mean who could not love someone who is in the Marvel.

I look forward to browsing through Ms. Anders other books and reading more by her.  If any are half as enjoyable as this one i know I will enjoy every moment

Harleigh is absolutely amazing.   She  has come out on the other side of a very rough patch of her life on top. She goes on a long vacation and doesn’t expect her life to change once again, but this time for better.

Giovani has had his share of problems in his life, but when he sees Harleigh for the first time he forgets about everything.

Harleigh showed incredible strength and the ability to move forward with her life and I so admire her for that.  She has an amazing family and they obviously love her.

I loved Luca and I hope we see him in the future.   He brought a fun twist to a book with  a pretty serious back story.

I have read not only every book in the Larsson Legacy series but I believe every book in the family.  I have enjoyed each of them for different reasons and in this book it’s the fierce protective nature of Giovanni towards Serena no matter what she does.

There were so many twists and turned throughout the book I couldn’t get ahead and figure out what was next.  Which I both loved and hated.

So much happens between Giovanni and Serena in this book, it was amazing how much action got packed into a normal length book.

I’m very hopeful that this isn’t the last we see of this family and looking forward to reading how the next guy falls.

Madeline and Mike are back and the adventure is never ending with these two.  They are working two cases again with one being a missing persons case.

From the beginning to the end they are always thinking and trying to figure out not only what happened,  but what the possibilities are for a few steps in advance.

I have read the entire series and each time Ms. Hamilton impresses me with her story and just how thought out it is as well as how well it’s written.

I cannot wait to see the next case or cases Madeline and Mike get.

I really enjoyed reading about Jessica and Ant and how their relationship shifted over the course of time. I forgot how much I loved their characters in the first book of this series but once it all fell into place i had a hard time putting the book down.

Ant was inspiring and I could so relate on his I hate exercise feelings, I unfortunately have a lot more work to do than Ant.  It was cool to see how his mindset changed from the beginning to the end.  I wish I could meet someone like Jessica to help me get it together.

Jessica is amazing,  she isn’t that in your face healthy person who tries to push her way of life on you, instead she asks you to try.  Oh and her heart is as big as can be.

The friendship between the girls and the relationship Jessica and her family have warmed my heart and made me a little jealous.

I can’t wait to read Em’s story!

Another amazing anthology from some pretty amazing authors  and worth every minute spent reading.

I’m only going to highlight the first book in the anthology which is Two Hearts Truce by Tamara Ferguson.

I fell in love with Jeff the moment he was in a non-combat setting in the previous book.   There was something very charming  about him, well the charm didn’t go away.  He is as charming if not more so once you really get to know him.  He is just an amazing guy who deserves to be happy.

Amanda is a lot to deal with at first, she’s not pleasant or all that likable.   Then you peal back a little bit and start to see a bit of the real her and learn her secrets and her personality makes sense.

You get laughs, love and suspense all in this first book.  Enjoyed every moment of it.

Another romance in Crystal Rock, there is something magical there and I hope the magic doesn’t end any time soon.

Ashley and Brian have known each since they were kids and just when things start moving forward something happens to tear them apart for several years. Thankfully that is just the beginning of their second chapter.

There is so much that happens that is tied to the past for both Crystal Rock and Ashley and Brian and it wasn’t anywhere close to where my mind took me.

This is a great series, not over the top with the romance or the suspense. Can’t wait to who falls next.

I have read every single book in this series and loved each and every one of them. I think this book is now my favorite and I hope to see more books in the future even if it’s the next generation.

First we get to see a grown up Donal grow up a bit more on his journey with Conor. Donal learns more about himself as a person and a musician. As well as learning more his Uncle Conor and developing a deeper relationship with him.

Then we get to see a side of Conor that rarely if ever comes out. He is going through a lot and needs to sort out.

I loved the rawness in Conor and watching Donal figure stuff out. They both get to view things from a different perspective and help one another more than either one would have ever thought.

I truly hope this is not the end of this series. I love each and every member of Rouge and I’m not ready to say bye.

Finding His Zen by Tammy Mannersly

I enjoyed the book and was happy with the way things worked out but I also found myself getting frustrated.

Sebastian is prime example if liking but also wanting to pop someone. He needed to be an adult and make his own decisions about his life instead of allowing people to dictate to him what to do and who to be with.

Zenia was happy but I got a feeling of some sadness there. Like maybe she felt she wasn’t as good or important as her younger sister. Could be me projecting my feelings of inadequacy who knows.

I don’t normally have strong negative reactions to characters while reading but I had a very strong negative feeling about Zenia’s sister. I’m not sure if it was her attitude or her occupation but it was almost instantaneous and quite surprising for me.

Give it a try, you might have different feelings from me regarding the characters.

I love the interaction between the Rhodes siblings and how close they are with their parents. I can’t wait to read the next siblings story. Please let it be Liam!

I don’t even know where to start with my thoughts on this book. I loved Penny and her relationship with her sisters. They seem to have an incredibly close bond which I envy. The dynamic between the four woman made me smile, even if it wasn’t the full set.

Geo melted my heart for so many reasons, I think the biggest was his relationship with his nephew who sounded like a handful and then some. He has such a soft spot for Eliot and his sister Maggie.

I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve throughout the book. And could wait to see where their next adventure led. I laughed a lot and cried just a bit.

This is my first time reading anything by Ms. Williams, but it certainly won’t be the last.

Nicky finally has her story with a little help from her friend Amber. What girl hasn’t dreamt of meeting a hot musician? I can remember quiet a few I dreamt about over the years.

Mac had me wrapped around his finger fairly early on and it only got worse (for me) as I read further.

I loved this story and the series. I’m not ready to say bye so I’m really hoping Amber gets to tell her story.

This series has been amazing so far and I love Liam and how he makes sure he is nothing like his father which I could relate to. He’s quite the stand up guy and he would do anything for Catriona even when he felt like he should be fighting it.

Catriona is an amazing woman with a heart of gold and God’s ear. She brings so much happiness and joy to everyone she meets. Cary and Ted broke and melted my heart.

Like Road, it took me a bit to warm up to the Utah club. I wasn’t sure what to expect with them, it was much more than I could have imagined. There were questions from previous books that were answered and now I have more but I figure they will come.

I have read several of the Satan’s Devils books and I love the complexities of each of these characters. They all have several layers to them, some hide more than others which of course only intrigues me more.

This series is absolutely amazing and I can’t recommend it enough. These guys are all hard like you would expect a biker to be, but they are totally different with their families.

Are we going to see Vegas next or will we learn more about San Diego and Utah first? Either way I can’t wait for the next book.

If your looking a hot romance but don’t have a lot of time to sit and read this is the book for you to try.

Olivia made me want to shake her a few times. She was so set that she refused to look at the other side or let anyone explain. I know she got burned but to take that strong of a stance I felt was a bit extreme.

Gabriel, oh Gabriel. He’s hot, successful and a man. He decided he knew best and boy did that blow up.

The chemistry between Olivia and Gabriel was intense from the moment they met and only got hotter from there.

I enjoyed this book, already have the next one ready to go in my Kindle.
