So Right

I think Amara and Petro’s story is my favorite in this series.  I love the older woman scenario and who wouldn’t love a large loud family?   They definitely made me think of our family get togethers over the years.

Amara and Petro both have had their hearts broken, and unwilling to go through that again so their feeling for the other kind of blind side them.

There were so many things about their story I enjoyed and holy cow were there some hot moments.  This author was able to make me picture so many scenes clearly and think that only added to my enjoyment of the book.

Great book to go with a great series.

Depending On You

I loved this book and savored each page not wanting to say bye to these characters.

Patti and Cate reminded me of my best friend and me.  Amy and I have been friends since we were 13 and 14 and here we are almost 34 years later still together but not without issues in the past.   There isn’t a thing we wouldn’t do for one another even in the middle of the night.

I could relate way too much with Cate and her relationship with her Mom and I think was one reason I loved this book as much as I did.  Also how Cate mothered and took care of her little sister.   My sister is 16 years younger than me, I took care of her like she was my own much like Cate did with Sammy.

This was my first time reading this author but it will not be my last.  I have been thinking about this book since I finished it and when an author grabs and keeps a hold of me then I know I will be reading them again.

Doctor D’s Orderly Affair

I enjoyed this book.  There were some laugh outnloud moments that I still chuckle about when I think about them and not a lot of angsty drama which fit with these characters and made me like it that much more.

Emily is way too serious for such a young woman but also reminded me if my daughter who is also Emily.  Very focused on school and achieving goals.  It must be the name.

Desmond was really put in a tough spot with his family and that made me mad.  That was so not fair of any of them to be that way.

This was a fast read but worth the time spent.

Power Play: A Second Chance Hockey Romance (Astoria Bay Thunder Book 1)

I wasn’t sure about Brynn when I started this book, she seemed like she was a mess and needed to get her life together, which was totally true.  She had a charm about her especially when she was awkward and uncomfortable that endeared her to me.

Levi, where do I start with him?  He’s  the hot Captain for the Astoria Bay Thunder who is content with living life hockey season to hockey season then Brynn shows up.

The chemistry between the two is off the charts and could have melted the rink.

I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)

I fell in love with Gina and Bryce  the moment I met them.  There was something about them that drew me in and refused to let me go.

Gina is a hero in so many ways, the fact that she’s humble about it makes her more of a hero in my opinion.   She is also a crafter who does a little bit over everything which made my crafting heart very happy.

Bryce didn’t give the greatest 1st impression but thankfully that was all a misunderstanding.   He loves his family, job and dogs which are all endearing but the dogs are my favorite.

I’m not sure how this author escaped me before but now that I have found her I will be looking at getting caught up with her catalog.

Wildcat: A Steamy Firefighter Romance (MetroGen After Hours Book 1)

Had no expectations when I started this book, this is a new to me author but I decided to give it a go and glad I did.

Most of the story takes place in the 90’s and it was a trip down memory lane for me.  Not a Browns fan but remember their move to Baltimore and how upset their fans were.  But I was also reminded how far woman have come in the in the last thirty years.

Leslie was one of two female fire fighters and now it’s not uncommon to see a woman with a unit.  Leslie was stronger than I ever could have been both physically and emotionally and I wish there was some way to Tha k woman who were in her shoes for all they did.

I loved the way she met Trevor and how she stuck her to guns about her life and career.

I’m looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

Savage Secrets: An Arranged Marriage Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 4)

How does she write these amazing books time after time?  This is another amazing read by this author who has quickly become one of my favorites.

We finally get Marco and Elana’s story and holy cow was it worth the way.  Just when I thought I figured something out I grind out I’m totally wrong and I loved it.

Marco is the boss of his family and Elena has been in hiding.  They have known one another most of their lives but she was promised to someone else.  Thankfully things happen to change that and wow.

I know these characters are Crime bosses and Mafia Princesses bit I absolutely love each and every one of them.

I am so ready for the next book to come out.

What an introduction to this series.   The sparks started the moment they met and worked their way up into a very hot and volatile relationship.

I have had some nights recently it was hard to sleep so I decided to read, huge mistake. Instead of helping my quiet down enough to sleep I got sucked in and had a hard time putting it down.

There was something intriguing about Luca from the very beginning and the more I learned about him the more intrigued I was.

I have had the pleasure of reading this author before and look forward to getting caught up on this series.

Exiled South

When I decided to try this book I wasn’t sure what to expect.   This is not an author I’m familiar with but I was intrigued for sure.

Once I started reading I was so glad I I decided to read this book.  I really enjoyed reading about Lizbeth finding not only family but also herself during the journey through her grief.

Lizbeth like a lot of women threw herself into being a wife and mother and lost who she was and what she wanted.  She was given a second chance to rediscover all of that and more and I hope I can figure it out without losing my husband.

Everyone needs a Charlotte in their life, doesn’t matter if it’s a close friend or family member but we all need one.

I cannot recommend this book enough.  I think it’s worth the time.

Theodore’s Ring: BWWM Action Adventure Romance

The adventure started almost as soon as I started reading and didn’t end until the very end of the story.  This book had some twists and unexpected turns but made total sense.

Lydia is a much better woman than I am.  There is no way I could have gone on the adventures she went on with Cam, but at the same time I would love to have that opportunity to travel and see the world in that way.

I love it when a new to me author keeps me as engaged as I was while reading.   Ended reading this way later than I should have but I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next with Lydia and Cam and the rescue.

I will be keeping my eye out in the future for more books by this author.

I had a hard time reading this book for some reason.   I enjoyed it, but I think some of the things that happened hit a little too close to home for me.  I cried a lot and found myself lost in thought after reading for a bit.

Anton and Elsa have a love that so many people dream of.  A normal marriage can crack under pressure but there is no way a normal marriage could withstand what they went though.

I liked this book and love the series.   Looking for to see which of the Titans is brought to his knees.

Blindsided: A Contemporary Sports Romance

I don’t know what it is about this author but every time I have read one of her books I have a horrible time putting it down.   I think I managed to read this one in less than a day which for me is fast.

There were several moments that made me mad and uncomfortable.  I couldn’t get over how cruel everyone was.  I remember being a bit of a jerk and could have been considered a bully towards a few people but never in life would I have taken it that far.

Of all of the characters Rylan was by far my favorite and would definitely consider him a hero.

This book will suck you in and you will find yourself reading it instead of anything you may need to do.  So if you plan to read it clear your calendar.

I loved getting to know Jared so deeply.   It had been a while since I had read Ethan’s book but it felt like a homecoming once I got into the book.

Jared and his Dad broke my heart.  Their back stories and what they were dealing with present day are just more than any family should have to endure.

There were so many sweet and funny moments and some heartbreaking ones too.  I really loved this book and all of the guys in Thrill of the Chase.  This book could have been twice as long and not long enough for me.

I absolutely adore Jared but I’m curious to get the Lennox’s story.  I just know there is something deep there.

Unlikely to Stay (A Parker Lake Novel Book 3)Unlikely to Stay by Ashlie Knapp
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely to Stay is the third book in the Parker Lake series. I had forgotten how great the people in this small town were. The older people just keep getting funnier and funnier in each book. Goodness knows what we’re going to end up in the next book.

CC and Brant’s story was so sweet. She learned things aren’t always what they seem to be. He learned to always listen to your Mama. Now to get my kids to learn that…

Living in Texas I have come across plenty of small towns and I swear I recognized people in the book. I have started make sure I’m in one of my Longhorns shirts when reading her books since there are several mentions of the school North of the Red River. 😉  This is another great book and I’m so looking forward to the next one in this series.

Oh my goodness, how did I survive this book and series?  So many emotions happened and sometimes several at once.  If you haven’t read Book one please stop here and grab the first book.  You shouldn’t read this one first.

I have been so fortunate to not have anyone close to me in my adult years get very sick with cancer. I have no idea how Tori was able to go into this relationship with Will not knowing if he would make it.  I don’t know if I could do it, but she was all in.

I loved how in love they were with one another and like with a real couple how she did everything she could to take care of him and get him through this.

I hope that I’m never faced with anything like Tori, but if I am I hope I’m as dedicated and loving as she was.

This book saved me while I was home sick.  I was able read it between my naps and even helped me stay awake a little longer because I did not want to put it down.

Amber and I had something huge in common and that is neither of us being a big fan of Christmas. Our reasons are similar but different.  I loved watching Amber evolve from lonely but content to a happy and in love.

I enjoyed this story so much and loved the way it ended.  Happy tears may have been shed.

Fall to Pieces  was full of surprises for me.  I totally didn’t see things playing out the way they did and I was glad.  I love it when I don’t see the twists until they’re being revealed.

Lexi has a lot going on in her life and unfortunately she doesn’t make the best choices.  She was quite determined to make sure she was able to catch the killer before there is another victim.

Xavier comes into Lexi’s life at the perfect time with the homicides and every thing else she is dealing with both personally and at work.

This book had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next and it did not disappoint.

Born in Darkness is the third book in the Mafia Elite series and oh my goodness, so much happens and so many questions I had were answered.   I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the next book comes out.

This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites and I will actively look for her books so I don’t miss one of her amazing suspenseful books.

Emiliana and Stefano were burning it up with the tension between them and man was it worth the wait, well at least for me.  There is just so much that happens that I can’t get into too much for fear it will give something away accidentally and I will not ruin this great book for someone

Em, Lil and Sofia are women you would not to make mad and I love.  I love all of these amazingly strong women who are not afraid to get their hand dirty but will also let their men take control when necessary.

I cannot recommend this book enough.  Please just trust me

Drummer’s Beat (Satan’s Devils MC #2) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Robin Rankin

This is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC series and I’m completely obsessed with this series.  I started reading further into the series and had not had the opportunity to go back and get caught up with the older books.  When I saw she was releasing the series on Audiobook I was so excited that I was going to get caught up.

Drummer is the President of the Mother chapter of the club and is quite content with his life until he meets a damsel in distress.  She flips his world upside down pretty quick.

The narrators did an amazing job bringing Drummer, Sam and the rest of the club to life for me and I found myself going on a drive just to get a little more listening time that day.

These books are standalone, but it is so helpful to listen/ read in order so you know the back stories.

Looking forward to the next book to be released, hoping the narrators are good as Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister if they are the ones.

I have had the pleasure of reading several books in this series and I cannot get enough.   I absolutely loved everything about this book.  Zeke and the twins provided more laughs than the Vegas guys alone would have and if you have read any of the previous Satan’s Devils books you know these bikers are funny on their own and like giant children.

I loved getting to know Red from his humble beginning (Book 1) to where he is now as President of the Vegas Chapter of the Satan’s Devils. I was also able to connect dots in other storylines in the series and I love meeting new members and possible love interests.

I love this author and series so much and hopeful that with all of the babies this first generation has that we will never have to say bye to the Satan’s Devils.

I don’t know how I got through life without have a book by this author to read.  I have had the pleasure of reading several now and each of them has me reading as much and as often as possible, sometimes even while working (but don’t tell my boss).

Sofia and Enzo are absolutely electric together.  They fight their mutual attraction even though they know how the other feels until they cannot resist each other any longer.

There are some steamy moments,  suspenseful/dangerous moments and even some laughs here and there mixed in.

The characters are well developed and I find myself counting the days until the next one will be released.   I need to find out what happens next with all of these amazing people.

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan Book 1) by Anise Storm

This is a new to me Author but was interested after reading the synopsis and decided to give the book a try, and I was not disappointed. I was able to shut my family out, relax and enjoy this book, which was not easy to do with my family around.

This book is a mixture of two different troupes and I liked that, you don’t often see them blended as well as this was.

Paisley and Caspian both broke my heart for different reasons, they both made the Mama in me need to hug them and let them know it will get better. My favorite part of this story was a pivotal part so I obviously won’t discuss it.  But the fireworks on the beach or the Def Leppard reference are two of quite a few that stand out.

I really enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next Titan to fall.

I usually steer clear of books like this.  I hate getting attached to a character only to have something happen to them but there was something that grabbed me so I had no choice but to read it and I’m so glad that I did.

I understood from the very beginning what Tori learns to see in Will.  Under his gruff exterior I feel he was scared and alone.  It took some time for that shell he had to get cracked.

Tori has an amazing gift and I don’t know how she does it time after time.   It takes a very special person to spend time with someone who is coming to the end of their life and alone.

I cannot wait to get the next book started and find out how everything turns out.

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely to Fit is the second book in the Parker Lake Series by Olivia Sherwood.  I liked Griff and Breckin a lot but Griff’s Mema had laughing out loud.  I want to be her when I get that old.  No filter and lots of fun living life and embarrassing my family.

The closeness between Breckin, Annie and CC is a more like sisters than best friends and I love it.  They are willing to drop everything to go help if there is someone in need.  Doesn’t matter if they need an ear or need to get absolutely trashed they are there.  Griff is just a great guy who will go above and beyond to help someone out and he proved that with what he did to help Megan out.

Great book and series and I’m looking forward to see who is next.  I of course think it will be CC but I think there may have been a door opened for someone else.  I’m dying to know and can’t wait for the book to come out.

I don’t know how she does it but Ms. Mellett has written another amazing book and I’m so glad they keep coming.

Red’s Peril was a great walk down memory lane along with bits and pieces we may not have known and in my case some things that were forgotten.

Red has been in the background in the previous books and I am so glad we get to know him and the guys in Vegas.  I really love how she has connected his time line to the others and helped us fill in some blanks we weren’t even aware of.

There is so much I could say but it all is regarding particulars of Red, his past and his present so I’m going to hold off for now.

Part 2 comes out in three long weeks, have the release date circled on my calendar and will be dropping everything to get this read.

If you are looking for a great book and series you won’t go wrong with Red or any of Satan’s Devils.

I have been waiting for Luke and Nadia’s story since I got to know them in Mr. Nice Guy and I wasn’t disappointed at all.

Nadia doesn’t deal with a lot of crap and is a strong independent woman but she has fought hard to accomplish that along with being an amazing nurse.  She hates feeling unsure and vulnerable and that is exactly what Luke does to her.

Luke loves his daughter and job, but learns that they aren’t the only important things in his life.

I loved the verbal sparring (mostly from Nadia) and how they were when together.   Looking forward to reading how the next Pierce Brother falls and thankful there are a total of four brothers.

I loved the back and forth between Nick and Allie and how they fought the attraction, well she more so than he.  Thankfully love won.

I cannot wait to see which one of the guys falls next and meet the woman who brings him to his knees.

This book was one I truly had a problem putting down.  I’m not sure if it was the story or the writing style the author, but I was constantly thinking about the book when I wasn’t reading it wondering what was going to happen next.  Then I got to a point that I wasn’t going to sleep until I was done.  Not going to lie, work the next day sucked.

Joe and Melody’s history growing up together made the story a little sweeter in my eyes and I couldn’t get enough of them.  The dynamic between the two of them and the guys in the band just did it for me.

There will be some frustration,  laughter swooning and tears along the journey but I don’t regret a minute of lost sleep.

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson

I was intrigued by this book and have learned some of my limits on what sort of things interest me in that world.   There were some things I never would have ever considered,  but we all like things that other people don’t quite understand.

I have not read the other books in this series which I think was a disadvantage because there were several established characters and their storylines that I didn’t have the background on, well at least not yet.  I would suggest reading these in order since this tied up loose ends.

Russell was a great guy is seemed but too intense for me.  He certainly knew how to care for a woman,  lucky Gemma.  He would give her exactly what she needed and cared for her more than I think a normal partner work.

I envy Gemma in some ways.  She knew what she needed, had no problems (mostly) vocalizing her needs and enjoyed every moment.

I would like to go back and read the others in this series so I can find out how everyone ended up where they were.

Pandora makes a lasting impression with the town of Bunya Junction the second she walked into Jonas’s pub but more importantly is the impression she made on Jonas.

There is something so charming about this town and the people who live there.  I couldn’t imagine living in the middle of the country, living between a big city and the country is perfect for me but I would live to visit this place for a bit.

I throughly enjoyed this book, getting to know the townspeople a little better and feeling like I was a part of their world for just a while.  I’m looking forward to the next book and catching up with my friends.
