Anger
Hero High
Book 2
By Mina Chara
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
Second best Coming of Age fantasy for the young adults.

Hero High is at it again. Follow along as you meet Figure in Flames and Dr. Dangerous. You will join in with new characters as the team and start a new adventure. The main characters stay in the back as they know they are being watched. Come on into the superstructure, just be careful! I refuse to give you any spoilers as I feel you will enjoy the story.

Mina Chara is the author in this fantasy romantic novel written for our teens and young adults. She is clever in her writings as her target is those coming of age young adults. Even as an adult I truly enjoyed this story. One I can safely introduce to the teens around me. Love the story, love the characters and romantic fantasy. We can all relate to this fiction. Job well done Mina Chara!

Rise (The Larussio Legacy Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Jana Teppih

Rise (The Larussio Legacy, #2)Rise by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rise is the second book in Via Mari’s Larussio Legacy series and I just realized that I have read every single one of her books and it is amazing how all her series intersect in one or other way – Prestian series, Torzial Affair, Billionaire Bodyguards … I find that I am so fortunate having read all of the series as it feels as if I am getting even more out of the experience …
Rise gives us Serena Moretti, raised to believe that the Larussio family is the enemy, and Giovanni Larussio, the don of the most powerful crime family in Italy. The second book picks up where the first one ends and we have Gio fallen hard for Serena and her having those submissive desires coursing through her in his presence … Considering Gio’s position as the head of the crime family then it makes Serena (and her family, especially her Nonna) a target as Gio’s weakness … There is so much passion and chemistry between those two, there is so much past between the two families and at times it is really hard to see beyond all the action and fighting and betrayals and hope that those two will get their happy ending …
It is another cracking book by Via Mari and I am looking forward to many more to come!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Rise the second book in The Larussio Legacy by Via Mari. This mafia suspense romance will melt your kindle. Gio and Serena have so much passion, chemistry and their love for one another is heartwarming. Things started with a bang in this book and didn’t stop. You ever knew what was going to happen next. Can their love survive family enemies and all the threats?

This series must be read in order because you don’t want to miss any of the action. I have said this before in my other reviews for Via Mari’s books – I recommend everything Via writes. Pleases let Jay be next to have his book.

A Moore Affair (Moore Family Saga Book 4) by Michele Sims is another well written story in the series and the characters are enjoyable. I suggest reading the other books before this one so you have a full understanding of all the characters involved. No, it is not necessary but it will help. Bella is finally marrying the man of her dreams and she knows he is a lot to take on and his past, but she hopes she is up to the task because love has no bounds.

Shift Happens (New Orleans Nocturnes, #2)Shift Happens by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this immensely! It’s a fun lighthearted quick read. While this book is the second in the series it is just as good as the first book. The author carried all the fun from book 1 through to this book. It is an exciting paranormal story filled with shifters, vampires and witches. There are ups and downs and I laughed multiple times. The characters are sassy, sexy and vibrant. I love Trace and Sophie together. They had fun with each other and I laughed at their comments.
In one spot she says “Great I have landed myself a clingy one. He replies with “Just call me Saran Wrap”.
I loved that comment. Perfect humor.

I look forward to more from this author and more in this series!

Sophie’s grandmother was a witch and she desperately wants to be one as well. All her friends say that she smells like one but she can’t cast a spell if her life depended on it. After getting bit by a werewolf, there is a high probability that she’ll turn into one herself. She wanted to have sex with one, not become one.

Trace is second in command of his pack and is sure Sophie is behind the disappearance of one of his pack mates. He’s already gotten involved with the enemy before with horrible results but can he resist the charms of this beautiful witch?

This series just keeps getting better with every book. Shift Happens is a lighthearted romantic comedy filled with lovable characters. Sophie is feisty and awkward and Trace is hot as sin. Between the humour and the romance, this book with pull you in from the start and you’ll never want it to end.

Southern Promises: The Complete Series (A Contemporary Romance Standalone Box Set)Southern Promises: The Complete Series by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is one of my favorite series and I highly recommend it. There is a theme running through them all. It’s how the author is able to make these characters seem so real! I can always feel their feelings and love being in their lives. She is magic with words.
Below is a little review about each book in the series.

Georgia Clay book 1

This is a great easy to read book. I really enjoyed it. The story flowed nicely. The characters are interesting. I loved Clay. Seriously what a gentleman! Finally getting his greatest wish! He seems like a nice southern guy who just happens to be famous. His family values are an attractive quality about him. I love the times when he is with Katie. It’s like I can really “feel” the emotion each one has for the other.
Katie is a great girl. She has wonderful friends in Stacey and Dale. Even though Dale had a smallish role I resonated with him and thought he did wonderful things. Every time he was in a scene I knew it would be good.
A few things I really enjoyed were when Clay called and asked her to come to Nashville for the first time…..I wanted to squeal right along with her! I was just as excited as she was. Also when Clay is singing on stage in the Bluebird. I got chills from everyone’s reactions to him. I won’t even talk about the end of the book..that one brought possible tears. Hartford…what to say about him?? What an amazing brother and he made me laugh and chuckle. Oh and I don’t want to forget the little game called “What would happen if?”

Georgia on my mind book 2

This is the second book in the Southern Promises series. I enjoyed this and read it fairly quickly. One of my favorite things about this author is how she writes these characters to make them so real. Meaning I can feel their feelings right along with them. Their happiness, pain and embarrassment is mine as well. She did an extremely good job on Hart’s character. His pain and anguish? Or Joy and pleasure? It was easily seen (aka read) and felt. Color me impressed!

I was so excited to see this one is about Hartford. I enjoyed many things about him in Georgia Clay. I am glad he called out to the author for his story. It was nice to see more sides of Hart. At times he seems so serious. Then You see the lighter side of him. He is so open around his mom and sister i could almost see him as a little boy. I love when he puts his arms around the women in his life. He seems so comfortable doing that. His smile? That’s a thousand-watter..right there. I can picture that in my head! His feelings for Gia? I loved reading how excited he was to get her to have coffee with him and how worried he was about screwing up with her.

Georgia Pine book 3

The writing in this book and series is so good! Actually the story behind the writing. The heartfelt words and descriptions (characters and things) are brought to life in my imagination because of this author’s words. I can picture each of them (characters) and as I read along I am more entranced by them every second. The girls and especially Tim. There was a definite beauty and the beast theme. Just the right touch. It is a cute add to the story. I love all the different ways that Tim’s green eyes are described. Pine, emerald and forest green are just some of the ways which make it very vivid in my mind. Plus all the references to him being a beast! His scraggly beard and long unkept hair….ha ha I loved it! Then when he called Jessica his Bella I couldn’t keep the smile from my face. Jessica and her girls were great. Each of the girls had their own little quirk and their love of Tim was so evident! Seriously though Tim was my favorite character….well next to Clay (Southern Promises Book 1).

Sweet Salvation (The Protectors Series Book 3) by Toya Richardson – Review by Lisa Helmick

Sweet Salvation (The Protectors, #3)Sweet Salvation by Toya Richardson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a highly emotional story. While there is an element of danger mostly the story revolves around Manuela and Josh. What trials they have been through before they come together. Then the danger is lurking and growing stronger. Will Manuela be strong enough?

I liked this story to a point. Manuela was abused sexually, physically and mentally. We learn about what happened through flashbacks. Four months after being rescued she is mated and scared of the words he uses while they are mating. But then she asks him to tie her up and live out a fantasy? She thinks that might be better? That was just too much for me to believe. Just my personal opinion.

This is my first book by this author. It is the third in a series and we do meet up with characters from precious books. I liked the story up to a point then struggled to get through the rest.

This book was great! This series is my favorite of hers so far and of course its a Mafia story so I couldn’t get enough! The amount of action in this books is off the charts and I felt like I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. The characters were fantastic. They really made this story, they felt real and raw and I loved every bit of steamyness and heat that they brought. I would highly recommend reading this series in order because both books are fantastic and you get the best reading experience reading them in order! Shift Happens: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Angela Hayes

Shift Happens (New Orleans Nocturnes, #2)Shift Happens by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Shift Happens is the second book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. It could be read as a standalone, but having said that, you would be missing out on a really fun read if you don’t read the first book too- plus there are recurring characters who are introduced in the first book- so there is a lot to gain by reading book one first.
This is a fantastic Paranormal Romantic Comedy- with werewolves, witches, magic, spells, vampires, mystery, chemistry, humour, romance, danger, drama, and plenty of fun. Again, the story is set against the mystical backdrop of New Orleans.
We met Sophie Burrows in book one, as she is Jane’s best friend. Sophie has watched her friend find her place in the supernatural world and would love nothing better than be able to embrace her own mystical heritage, but try as she might, she just doesn’t seem to be able to access that which should have been her birthright. You see her grandmother was a powerful witch, and Sophie has long dreamed of following in her grandmother’s footsteps. All her supernatural friends say she looks and smells like a witch- so why can’t she cast spells. She feels like such a failure. Then added to her dilemma is the little problem of having been bitten by a werewolf- and the chance she could turn into one at the next full moon. What is a witch to do?
Trace Thibodeaux is a Red Wolf Shifter who happens to be the one who accidentally bit Sophie. He’s been looking for his missing packmate who was with an unknown witch at the time of his disappearance. Things get even more complicated when his pack is cursed, as well. So not only does he need to find his missing friend, but find the witch who cursed his pack and deal with the situation. His investigations have led him to Sophie and he is convinced that she’s the witch he’s after. If only he wasn’t so attracted to her. Their chemistry is throwing him off his game. He needs to prove to his alpha that he can get the job done- so spending time with the enemy probably isn’t the smartest thing he could do. What happens next makes for a really fun and very engrossing read!

Loving this series!!!!! Diving into Book #3 now!!!!

Thank you, Ms. Pulkinen!

I have reviewed each of the stories in this box set separately. They were all wonderful reads!

Georgia Clay

Ahhhh this story absolutely stole my heart and ran away with it! This is the first book that I have read by this author and will definitely not be the last. Her writing was so beautiful and I loved every second of this book! If ever a book gave me all the feels it was this one! I don’t think I have rooted for two people as much as I did Clay and Katie for a very long time!!
I really liked Clay; he wasn’t at all like I anticipated when I first started the book. Although he was famous he didn’t have that arrogance that some stars do. I loved the connection between him and Katie. She was really sweet and a little naïve. I absolutely adored the moments between these two characters, I really could feel all of the emotions that they did and that is down to the wonderful writing by the author.
Along with Clay and Katie were some great secondary characters. They really added something extra to the story.

Georgia on my Mind

I loved Hart and Gia’s story, I may not have got into it as quickly as Clay and Katie’s but once I did I was in love and hooked! This author really does create wonderful characters and I love her descriptive writing. I really felt like Hart and Gia were just perfect for each other. I really love this author’s way of creating characters, for me in this story it was Hart! I really felt like I could feel everything he did, I could feel his pain but also his joy at times. I really liked Gia too, I thought that she was a really strong character and I found myself just really wanting the best for her.

Georgia Pine

This book was just wow. I’m not sure I can actually find the words to write this review about this book. I have read the first two books in the series and I loved them, I really did but this one was just outstanding. The author has truly outdone herself, I was hooked from the very first page it was just so beautifully written. The words just flowed seamlessly and it was such an easy effortless read. I really want to read it all over again!
The characters were fantastic, Jessica and Tim were perfect! They had passion, chemistry and a great connection. I kind of loved that it wasn’t all plain sailing and there were some obstacles that they had to overcome because it made me want them to find happiness all the more! Having met Jessica and her four girls in book 2 I was really looking forward to seeing more of them in this book. I wasn’t disappointed with Jessica and Tim’s story at all. There were some twists in the story as I have come to expect from this talented author.

This is a fantastic boxed set and I would 100% recommend it!!

All The Wrong Reasons! How about all the right reasons for reading this book!

This book was brilliant from the start right until the last page. I absolutely loved the storyline and the characters. Our characters are faced with real issues that in the end, they deal with them the only way they know-how at that time, but what neither of them expected was for their true feelings to be admitted!

These characters have amazing chemistry, they both made me laugh, smile sometimes a little mad, but nonetheless, they brought this story to life and I was glad I got to follow their story and journey together!
I couldn’t fault this book in any way.

I can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of this series, I’d love to see Alex & Max’s story continue.

I highly recommend this read and can’t wait for more from this author!

All The Wrong ReasonsAll The Wrong Reasons by Erin Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

All The Wrong Reasons is the first book in the Serendipity Falls series by Erin Bevan. I’m a total sucker for a good friends-to-lovers book so took a leap of faith to try a new author to me, in reading this book. All I can say is that I made a great choice in reading this. I loved Alex and Max’s story so much.
Alex is a teacher in a Christian school with very strict rules and regulations so when she gets pregnant having a one night stand to try to get over the break-up of her 5 year relationship, she’s scared as to what her future holds.
Alex’s best friend since they were 8 years old is Max. Max was a very poor child with a hard childhood who has worked his way up to being a very wealthy businessman who wants to go into politics. What he needs is to show that he’s a good family man. So he asks Alex to marry him. It’s the answer to all their problems, or is it?
I loved this book so much. The dynamic between Alex and Max is amazing. They are both so devoted to each other (as best friends). Can they make that dynamic work as a married couple? Well. I’m not going to answer that and give any spoilers but what I will say is that this is a wonderful story with a lot of angst and many twists and turns that keep you gripped to the story and not knowing what way the author is going to take you.
Definitely recommend and can’t wait to read more of this series.

Ok, it’s been awhile since i read the first book, but i was able to jump right back into the series. I really really loved this book, and the way the story unfolded kept me hooked until the end. The twists, turns, and just everything made the story what it was.
Owen and Genevieve, how do you describe them without making them sound awful lol, it was like cats and dogs or cats and water, love/hate would work too but its unique.

I honestly dont want to ramble on about this as the story as a whole is best read that way. Read book one, Who, first so you have background info and the story before this one.

Anger by Mina Chara a five-star read that won’t leave you angry. This is number two in the Hero High series and the setting of Icon city is well done, it suits the type of story and the characters well. This is the story of Friday Fitzsimmons and her second year of Hero high; she just gets more of a sublime character, watching her struggle with fitting in and anxiety, just makes the daily struggle a little easier knowing that others face it as well. This story will take your breath away, you will be kept guessing all the way through, my heart was pounding so hard at one point I didn’t realise how long I had held my breath, but I was so swept up in the story I couldn’t stop myself.

Southern Promises : The Complete Series, by K.G. Fletcher.
This series had me from page one of the first book.
Book 1: Georgia Clay

Clay always had the biggest crush on Katie and figured their reunion was the perfect time to pursue her. Will they be able to have a long distance relationship when Clay’s performing career takes a flying leap or are they going to end before they even get the real chance to begin?
Book 2: Georgia on My Mind
Hart is back home living in his sisters house after losing his job in DC, when he was caught in a compromising position.
Gia Bates is struggling to survive and keep her dance studio above water. She is working anonymously as a Marilyn Monroe impersonator when she meets Hart. When he saves her after the party from a handsy guy, he knows that he needs to see and know more about her. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles in their path or will they be torn apart by those obstacles?
Book 3: Georgia Pine
We briefly met Jessica in book two and my heart broke for her, I was so glad to read her story and watch her find her happiness. Meeting and falling in love with Tim, was just the icing on the cake!!
Tim is definitely not who everyone thinks he is, but that just makes the story better. The chemistry between Jessica and Tim from the first time they saw each other was amazing, seeing how he treated and fell in love with her girls was the sweetest thing ever!!!
I absolutely loved this entire series and I only wish there was more!!!

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham – Review by Lisa Helmick

Why (Stalker Series, #2)Why by Megan Mitcham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was glued to my kindle reading this book. It started off interesting and then became slow. Too much interest in the case. Then once the Detective started getting more involved (his times kept me riveted) it picked back up. Then it became a “hold onto your hat” wild crazy ride until the end.

The main characters were good and their connection to each other is like dogs and cats. I struggled to put the book down when they had their verbal sparring. Sparks seemed to fly! I really enjoyed Owen! He is so much more than I expected. His drive to get her is amazing! I wasn’t such a fan of the big bad lawyer(Genevieve) persona. When push comes to shove and it seemed to often…she flailed. She became a simpering woman. I got the impression she was a “take no crap” bada$$ lady but she seems to be that way in the courtroom only. She does have a wicked mouth on her and is able to spew some great comebacks to other characters.

My other issue is the time for the injuries to heal (seems non-existent) before either more are inflicted or a sexual escapade. Just seemed weird she wasn’t ever in pain past the next afternoon. I think I had this problem in the first book as well.

Overall it’s a story that gets better the further I read it. It took me into the wee hours of the morning because that ending…Whew! Totally worth it! I do recommend this book and I look forward to the next.

Why (Stalker Series Book 2)Why by Megan Mitcham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham was a great 5 star read.

The story starts with Genevieve representing her mentor and boss in court. He is being accused of killing his family, a family that she has known personally. She gets a lot of heat representing him but she ends up winning the case.

There is also a detective that has gotten her attention following the case. He was on the other side and had warned her that she was representing a killer. You could feel their attraction coming off the pages. When Perry starts to act differently she starts to watch him closer. This is when she runs into the detective once again.

Could Perry be guilty? What will she find out?
And, will Genevieve and the hot detective get together for more than a conversation?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time trying to figure things out right along with Genevieve. All the secondary characters added a great element to the story. I really like the friends that she has, they are very supportive of her. If you are looking for a great thrilling read, this is the series for you. Each book can be read as a stand alone. 1-click and get started today.

This is such a sweet romance. This is the first book I have read by this author and I’m glad I have a new one to add to my must read collection. This story is about Alex and Max who have been best friends for a very long time. They find that each of them seem to be in a predicament and their solution is to get married. Alex has found herself pregnant from a one night stand and her job may be in jeopardy. Max is a business owner running for a political office and he needs to fix his playboy reputation. I found myself rooting for these two because they both deserve love and happiness. This book was very well written, I was drawn in and loved the characters. I highly recommend this book.

The characters are complex, relatable and pulled me in from page one. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m excited to see where the author takes readers next. Four big stars for this great story.

Rise (The Larussio Legacy, #2)Rise by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rise (The Larussio Legacy Book 2) by Via Mari. I simply can’t get enough of the stories this author creates and this is no different because once again I was completely hooked from page one and couldn’t put this book down until the very last page. I was on the edge of my seat more than once wondering what would happen next. The characters jump of the pages and bring the story to life for sure. I just found myself lost in the words and not wanting to be found. I recommend reading these books in order. There’s so much going on but you don’t get confused you just sit back and enjoy the ride this author takes you on with characters you won’t be forgetting any time soon. The chemistry between the characters just grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. It’s a well written story that’s paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Five huge stars and highly recommended! Can’t wait to see where the author takes us next!

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham – Review by Katie Kearney

Why (Stalker Series, #2)Why by Megan Mitcham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham. I’m a fan of many authors and they was they can draw me in with words. But this author seems to take it to another level for me, from start to finish I was completely hooked. You know when you find a really good show and you just binge watch it all, that’s how good this book was. It’s totally binge worthy and I definitely did just that, I simply couldn’t put this book down. It’s just as good, maybe even better than the first one. You can definitely read these as stand-alone’s as intended but I do highly recommend the first one also. The characters are complex and relatable while very intense. The storyline kept me on the edge of my seat the entire story. It’s got suspense, mystery and a bit of romance what’s not to love. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham – Review by Mirela Ruiz

Why (Stalker Series, #2)Why by Megan Mitcham
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Why (Stalker Series Book 2) by Megan Mitcham was a great addition to the series. I love a good crime solver. The plot was super intense and had a lot of my favorite types of twists and turns. Genevieve and Owen were both well developed and I loved their chemistry. I applauded Genevieve’s moral compass and her strength to follow her gut. I cannot wait to see what happens next in this series.
