Duty and prophecy get in the way of everything.

All I ever wanted to do was read my books, play my sports, and help people. Life and prophecy had other things in mind.

Helping people is what I do; as an empath and semi-frequent telepath, I can easily sense and understand people’s needs and emotions. Sometimes even before they do. Being able to read everyone’s thoughts and feelings all the time can drive me crazy with anxiety, but that moment when I can finally make someone’s life better makes everything worth it.

Unfortunately, I’m also the next in line to rule the galaxy, I’m the only diplomat most planets will listen to, assassins try to kill me on an annoyingly regular basis, and a much-vaunted Prophecy has decreed that I’m going to die. Oh, and someone blew up my home planet.

Kind of a lot to deal with, right?

Too bad I just got another problem: a big, irritating, overbearing bodyguard with serious anger management issues.

And I think I’m falling for him.

I loved this read! It has everything and more! Ashley Pagano is a new author for me and getting the chance to read The Gauntlet was everything I hoped it would be. I was totally captivated with this reading, I couldn’t put it down. This author has created a well developed and mentally visual read that I enjoyed from beginning to end. Ashley Pagano made it even better by creating two brilliant characters that had an undeniable connection from the moment they meet. This is a brilliant fantasy read that will have you wondering what could happen next, its full of suspense, action, adventure, danger & magic but lets not forget the romance.

I highly recommend this read! It is one that shouldn’t be missed! I can’t wait to see what else this author brings!

The Gauntlet: The Soppranaturale Series by Ashley Pagano is the first book I have read by this author and it will not be my last. Ashley Pagano has a way of grabbing my attention and pulls me into her world in which she has created. Once I started the story there was no way that I was stopping. So make sure you have enough time to complete the entire story. The characters are amazing because she does not deal with only vampires or werewolves. There is the full cast of supernatural cast Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, Shape Shifters, and Faeries. There is white magic and dark magic and who will manipulate the four elements. Then there is the Soppranaturale Hotel which is not your typical hotel, it holds different supernatural beings that try to keep the magical world hidden from the rest of the world. This world is the best of most book worlds in the supernatural worlds. I can only hope you enjoy this story as much as I did. Happy Reading.

I thought that The Gauntlet was a fantastic read, it may have been a shorter read but it was packed full of wonderful characters, action and fantasy! I love how original the storyline was – it really captured my attention from the very beginning. The authors’ writing was really easy to read and although as mentioned before it is a shorter than average story it didn’t feel rushed and I definitely didn’t feel like I was missing anything. The pace and flow were perfect. The author’s attention to detail was amazing and this meant that the world building for the story was excellent and I adored her character building – they all developed well over the story.
I am really excited to see where the author is going to take this series, I have a feeling it is going to be an amazing one! I can’t wait for the next book to be released!

The Gauntlet by Ashley Pagano is a brilliantly unique story. The author does a great job of mixing together all the different supernatural species in a way that I have not seen done before.
The story is quite a short one – which would be my only gripe – however there is a lot packed into these few pages. The book is exciting and fast paced. It grabs your attention right at the start and doesn’t let go right until the end.
This was as new author to me so I am pleased to say that I have enjoyed her writing style. The mystery and intrigue she has brought to a fantasy story is great. I am very much looking forward to reading more of her work.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Michael’s Heart was a 4 star read for me. I have never read any other books by this author and wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about this book. I enjoyed reading this book. The characters were all loved and I feel like they all belonged. Some authors throw characters into the story and they have no purpose. This book has many well liked, well developed characters.
Colbie is looking to start up a dream. She wants to build a safe place for women to make life choices that will impact them for the rest of their lives. When she gets a letter in the mail from the staff at Hightower Television Network, her life changes. She nearly died that day while driving to visit her best friend but, she had a guardian angel. From that moment on, everything revolved around him.

When Colbie shows up at HTN for the final part of the contest she meets a few people who will become very important people in her life. The Hightower’s become like family even though they don’t share the same blood.
I love how the rare blue forget-me-nots always show up and will continue to show up to let Colbie
know she is never alone.

The Gauntlet: The Soppranaturale Series by Ashley Pagano is a paranormal suspense. This story offers a strong female lead that is independent and unique in her own rights. The author has created a “world” unlike any other and it’s imaginative, yet feels so realistic at the same time. A great introduction to the series and the possibilities of what is to come further along the line. Despite the limited pages in this first book, Ashley Pagano did an amazing job with character development and the creation of a story line that is intriguing, begging to be read.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Gauntlet: The Soppranaturale Series by Ashley Pagano is a short paranormal story that is fun and original. Even though it is a short story it packs a punch and it has everything needed to keep you entertained and intrigued. What mystery does this hotel hold? What is going on behind closed doors? There is action and battles, magic and danger, suspense and hurt, secrets and romance and this is only part of what to expect. When there are many magical beings such as Vampires and Witches, Elves and Fae all in one place things tend to get a little tense and the place to go to let off a little steam is the gauntlet. Ashley has done a great job of adding her spin on the supernatural beings and the place in which they dwell, giving them a new light.
Ommily has always been drawn to the unknown, the more mystical side of life and has come to the one place that may hold all the answers she seeks.
Link has been alone for a very long time. Always under the impression that he was the last of his kind but the stunning creature that just walked in the door is more than what she first seems.

This magical world draws you in and almost seems that it is real and you are as much a participant as the characters. If you love the paranormal then this is a book that you will love. Go on you know you want to.

Hoosier Dad by Elizabeth Seckman is a well written contemporary romance that I found a delight in reading. Rich and Sarah broke each other’s hearts when they were young, and when they meet again, no matter how much they try not to like each other, it just doesn’t happen. Rich is now a single dad who is raising his two daughters after his ex-split. Now she is back and is saying she is going to take her kids. Sarah is a lawyer, and determined to whatever it takes so he doesn’t lose his girls.

I was pleasantly surprised by this story, I’ll be honest I was afraid it would be a predictable type of storyline but it was in no way at all predictable.

I really appreciated that it wasn’t a normal second chance romance where they meet again and all is well. There was so much going on in this book and it was impossible to put down once I got settled in. I loved Sarah in every way, she was a tough take no prisoners attorney and literally did what she had to do in this story while going up against an evil ex and falling in love with the two girls who were the reason for the custody battle.

This is my first time reading anything by this author and I can promise it will not be the last, I loved her style and the flow of this story, you never really knew what was going to happen until it happened. That’s my favorite type of book!

Definitely looking forward to more from this author and I highly recommend this book.

Hoosier Dad by Elizabeth Seckman is a second chance romance that is fun and light hearted story that was also witty and charming. I enjoy Elizabeth’s writing style and read the book in one sitting. I also found it to be a refreshing and clever read. The story flowed well and the journey the characters took was full of emotions and heat, heart and soul, passion and drama and they were palpable and very vivid. This is my first read by Elizabeth and I really enjoyed it. It has all the ingredients that makes it a feel good read that has you laughing out loud at times. Elizabeth has a way with words that make it not only fun but it is also witty and interesting, mysterious at times and oh so steamy. The story is told in dual POV’s which I love love love and we get to see where each character comes from and it gives so much more depth to the story. Lets just say that with differing POV’s it definitely made the story more enjoyable and at times completely outrageous.

Sarah has come back to town and comes face to face with the man who didn’t just break her heart he stomped on it but when he is in need of help she offers straight away and what she finds is nothing like what she left behind.

Rich is on the lookout for a wife. His expectations are outrageous and made me laugh so hard. When his ex causes trouble he turns to the one person who doesn’t like him but what he finds is something he never thought would happen.

A great read and one to add to your TBR list.

Hoosier Dad by Elizabeth Seckman was a fun, light hearted, witty read that had me hooked from that first opening sentence.

My first read by this author I didn’t know what I was getting into, and lets just say, I liked it, I liked it a lot. This book was, as I said, super fun, witty, interesting, mysterious, steamy, weirdly outrageous, and just, full of though good feels that have you going, why isn’t this a movie?!. I have such a fun time with both MC’s, told in dual POV we get both of their sides of the story, and I loved how both were on completely different pages. It made room for growth, second chances, and change. Also made for some pretty fun lol moments.

I have to say, I wasn’t expecting to like this book as much as I did, as the synopsis had me thinking it would be pretty mediocre. But this author proved me wrong and truly delivered a wonderful, smart, fresh read that not only flowed, it had heart, passion and you could feel the emotions oozing off the pages. It was like I was watching a real life drama unfold, and it was glorious.

Hoosier Dad was a really enjoyable read. It is one of those stories that is just really easy to read and I found myself easily dragged into what I was reading and the story of Sarah and Rich. There was a good level of drama running throughout the story which I think was fuelled by the small town gossiping and a couple of secondary characters! The main characters were really likeable and they certainly had a good amount of chemistry, I think I anticipated a little more romance however I think how they interacted with each other did fit in with their past relationship.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I don’t think it will be the last. I liked the simplicity of the story it was nice to read a storyline that wasn’t overly complex. It was a great contemporary romance that I would definitely recommend!

She has now met Link. I found myself really liking the character of Link and found myself caring about him and also Ommity with each chapter that I read. Will they be able together to defeat the Gauntlet? Read this book to find out. This story has supernatural characters, magic, and danger. Ashley Pagano has always dreamed of being an artist both figuratively and literally. Her love of art was instilled by her mother who always inspired her to be creative either with a paintbrush or with a pen and paper. As far back as she can remember her life was always centered around introspection, storytelling, and imagination. Because she is so artistic, she took to the idea of creative writing very passionately. Her ability to describe a scene, person, or place, she compares to painting a picture, where she can describe every detail vividly in order to make the reader feel like they’re truly living in the story. Her works of writing usually center around a powerhouse female protagonist (which reflect her own personality), who progresses through many wild and extreme obstacles. Ashley loves to write young adult fiction stories that end with a cliffhanger, that have the reader begging for more and questioning what happens next.  Ashley has won awards for her design, art, and writing.  Some of her works include the Never Fear the Reaper, 3 book series and now the first book in the Soppranaturale Series: The Gauntlet.

Ashley doesn’t believe in down time whatsoever and actually loves having a full “To-Do”list. Ashley is a wife to her wonderful husband, Eric and a mother to a beautiful little baby girl named Dakota. She is also a Graphic Designer and a health and fitness coach. Her husband and daughter inspire her to be the best person she can be and encourage her to pursue any of her dreams (no matter how extravagant they may be).

Hoosier Dad is an awesome contemporary romance by Elizabeth Seckman. Before reading this, I had never read any of this author’s work, but now I will definitely be reading more. I loved it and would definitely recommend it to others, especially if you enjoy a second chance romance.
Approaching her 30th birthday and with yet another disastrous relationship behind her, attorney Sarah Andrews decided to move back home to Dodd. One of the first people she meets is Richland (Rich) Cooper, the man who broke her heart. Ideally, she would like to never see him again but Rich needs a lawyer to help him keep custody of his 2 daughters from his evil ex-wife (who at one point had been Sarah’s friend.
Spending more and more time together, and Sarah falling in love with his 2 daughters, Rich is determined to win Sarah back. I loved the interaction between Rich and Sarah, Sarah trying so hard to resist his charms when deep down she still loves him. Rich’s 2 daughters Stacey and Kari were adorable and added so much to the story. You gotta love a cute kid in a romance story!
Of course the path to true love never runs smooth and there are so many obstacles in their way, mainly Rich’s ex-wife Jess and the local Doc who has his eye set on Sarah for himself.
Well deserving of the 5 star rating!

Obsessed (Lila Casey Series Book 1) by J Collins – Review by Emily Walsh

By: J. Collins
My Rating: 4 of 5 stars

Obsessed (Lila Casey Series Book 1) by J Collins was a pretty okay read that had me smiling, annoyed and just got me in all the good fun feels.

This book was such a joy to read that I had it pretty much read in one sitting. As I said it’s fun, light hearted, and has some pretty good chuckle moments. I’ve read my fair share of vampire books, and I always love it when there’s a new spin on the lore. This author did a great job of making this read fresh and enjoyable. The romance was quick, but not overpowering, it flowed nice and once the other vampires started showing up, the story found solid footing and took off.

I will say that our MC Lila was a little hard for me to like at the start. She seemed a little immature for her age, and it was annoying. She did get better as the story when on, but if it wasn’t for Adam (our sexy vamp) then I don’t think I would have liked her at all, and might even have not wanted to finish the book. Other elements like detail and the overall storytelling was a major draw for me, and helped with the unlikeable MC. But as I have said she does get better as the story goes on, I just wish she wasn’t so, eyerolly at the start.

Overall this story is fantastically good, it’s has that quirky feel that just keeps you engaged and turning the pages. I’m definitely going to be following this series, as I believe that it’s going to be something epic. So yes, this book gets my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval.

Happy Reading
