I really enjoyed this book! Liz hasn’t had the easiest life with her mom dying when Liz was 10. But Liz has had her grandmother, Betsy, who doted on her and gave her a wonderful life. Now that her grandmother has passed, Liz is finding out that Betsy wasn’t all she seemed. Liz finds out that Betsy was a famous actress who gave it all up for Liz. Her grandmother even had a man that she loved, and his grandson was basically her grandson too! Liz’s world is thrown for a loop as she meets this grandson. After her death, Betsy has quite an adventure planned for her granddaughter and maybe even a little matchmaking. As I followed Liz as she learned about who her grandmother was, I could hardly put the book down. I was completely hooked. It was a fairly clean book with minor sexual scenes and language sprinkled throughout the book. Bernadette Marie has another winner with this book!

Fisher Locke has finally has a chance to prove himself to his parents but when he see her for the first time he is instantly drawn to her, but as they start to develop feelings for each other , can they survive the backlash or will they be destined to be apart forever.
I have read other books in this series and although there is some crossover with other stories you can easily read this book as a stand alone story. I loved the chemistry between these two characters and the emotional push and pull is great to read. With this historical storyline it is great to read about such strong females characters in an era where woman, especially black woman really had no say in the world but determined to make a difference these woman fight with there lives for justice and freedom.
This is a brilliant story which will have you engrossed and turning the pages until the end.

This is an intriguing book that has a unique take on the legend of Atlantis. It was great how the author took a topic well known and turn it into something different. I became invested in this story very quickly and couldn’t wait to see how things would turn out. The story was exciting and full of ‘monsters’ and fantasy. This isn’t the first book that I have read by this author but I think it is my favourite so far. I loved the new perspective and I thought the story itself was well written and engaging. The characters all added even more to the story and I enjoyed how they each played their part. This is a great book and I am looking forward to more of this authors work.

Blu Connolly has the world at his finger tips, the lead singer of one of the most successful rock bands in America and the world. Girls have never been a problem and the variety is the spice of life but as the Asian tour comes to a end Blu decides to spend sometime with him mom.
Ashleigh is an army brat moving from base to base she is pleased that she has a home base and a lovely garden she can tend to and create a beautiful, tranquil space. Being friends with her next-door neighbour is a highlight on a Saturday when they indulge in lunch, she is enjoying her life. Then he comes riding into her life and will things be the same again.
Blu comes riding into his mom’s street on his Harley and revving his engine to upset his mom’s neighbour but when a blonde bombshell coming charging out and has a go at him, he then has a attraction to her that he can’t seem to shake. As they get to know each other can Ashleigh get past the cocky image of the lead singer to the Blu who helps in her garden and is normal and sweet, you will need to read to find out.
This is the second book in this series and it is just as good as the first, with the characters that are so well developed and suited for each other. The story flows brilliantly and I am so glad to ready about Blu and Ash. Although this book can be read as a standalone story the first book in this series is just as good.
Blu and Ash have a chemistry that just jumps off the page and you get to see a different side to him from the first book, you tend to have the same attitude as Ashleigh when first meeting Blu as the arrogant lead singer but his softer side it beautiful to read.
Can wait to read the next book in this series.

This is a well written and fun YA romance story. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book going into it. Both of these authors are new to me so I was unfamiliar with either writing style. But, I connected with the story quite easily and thought their individuals styles of writing clearly worked well together. I enjoyed reading about the characters of this book. They really were the heart of the story and I found them interesting and engaging. Their journey was evident on each and every page and I really wanted to see where they would end up. I enjoyed the overall story too. I thought the authors did a great job at getting you, as the reader, interested in what was going on. The book was well paced and a generally good story. This is one I thoroughly enjoyed and I look forward to more from this duo.

I really enjoyed this book and while it is the second in the series, you can definitely read it as a standalone. Antoine (Hybrid) and Donna (Human) are fated mates (swoon) and their meeting is D-R-A-M-A-T-I-C! I really like the intensity of Antoine and the relatability of Donna. Richardson does a good job with character development (especially the main characters) and I enjoyed the dual POV so we get insight from both of them. The concept of the plot was really interesting and for the most part it flowed really well; however, there were some parts where it felt rushed, but overall, I really enjoyed the book and I look forward to reading more of this author.
I enjoyed this novel. It is always interesting to read stories with a different perspective on vampires and werewolves. This story definitely had a different take on the origins of these species. The story of Katherine and Ian had adventure with a touch of love. The story caught my attention and kept it to the end. I look forward to reading more about from this series and author.

This was such a great read. It is full of action, sexual tension, secrets and a great enemies to lovers romance. I loved the characters of Lev and Daphne really bring this story to life. I love their chemistry both the sexual chemistry but also their hatred for each other. The way they argue and irritated each other is funny to read but you just know that type of tension and chemistry is going to be explosive when they finally give into the attraction between them and boy did it explode.
It isn’t just a steamy story filled with sexual tension both Lev and Daphne are hiding things and keeping secrets and when these secrets start to reveal themselves we see them grow closer together.
This story was really well written and I was totally invested in these characters and their story. The author’s did an incredible job of bringing their personalities to life which in turn makes them seem more real and engaging. I can’t wait to read more.

I loved the first book in this series and couldn’t wait to get the rest of the sisters’ stories and this one is about Katelyn. This can be absolutely read as a standalone!
I so loved this story as it had me in my feelings from the start as you could just feel how broken Grant was.
Katelyn may be my favorite female lead in quite some time as she took no crap from anyone and stood for what she knew was right and didn’t back down.
These 2 were great even with the grumpy/sunshine trope going on, which is one of my favorites, as we see the ice thaw on Grant slowly.
Oh heavens, these two can heat up a room. This book is fantastic and hotter than Yuma in the middle of summer!! I enjoyed reading about their adventures after the Royal Wedding. The sparks flying. The chemistry brewing. This is one hot romance that you need gloves to read it with. The characters are entertaining and full of spunk and sass. It’s a quick read that will set you on fire. If you like hot and spicy romance, give this a shot.

This is the second book in this series but can be read as a stand alone. The first book is just as great as this one and one you don’t want to miss. This is a well written story where a best friend’s wedding and hate sex bring two unlikely people together. I enjoyed these two characters. They added so much to the story and made it easy for me to read. I enjoyed how they brought the story to life on each page and I had no problems connecting with them. This is a fast paced, engaging story where the author’s use details to make you feel as if you are part of the story. There is great growth of the plot and characters which are added to the story. This is a story that I really enjoyed reading. I highly recommend this book and this series.

Marked Wolf was another great read. I highly recommend you reading the first book so you can understand and follow along! If you love a good fantasy/shifter book, I recommend this series. The world building and characters had great detailing and can tell the author put a lot of thought into it. This was a page turner for me. I can’t wait to read the 3rd book now!!

This book was just crazy. I loved it and was hooked from the very first chapter. I really wish I read book 1 first but didnt realize the order of them is recommended to be read that way. Daphne is visiting Lovolia for her best friend Bridget’s wedding to prince Fyn. Every time Daphne comes for a visit, her and Fyn’s best friend…a member of the Royal guard Lev are at eachothers throats. They can’t stand eachother. He’s always grumpy and she’s just loud with no clue on how to act around royalty. Things change in the reading room at the wedding. These two finally hate screw eachother thinking it will get it out of their system.
Daphne is dropped off at the airport when the couple leaves for their honeymoon but she decides to go to Elysium….only one problem…that’s where lev is staying for holiday while Fyn and Bridget are on their honeymoon.
When Lev finds out Daphne is there, he wants her to leave. Both of these characters have lots of baggage. Lots of things on their minds. They agree to stay out of eachothers way until they don’t.
Just when you think you know what’s going to happen, the suspense of the situation hooks you right in.
There’s a lot more to this book than 2 people who can’t stand eachother hooking up at their best friends wedding. There’s lots of feelings. There some happy, some sad, some scared and some heat! Great 5 star book

I’ve really been enjoying these stories by this author. I find them really easy to read and they have great characters. I love the time period that these stories take place in, so much struggle goes on in these times with regards to interracial relationships and I love that the author tackles this with such amazing story lines and characters. I loved Billie Jean! She certainly was not afraid to stand up for what she believed. She had a great confidence and independence about her that made her so amazing to read about. She definitely didn’t see Fisher coming along though! There was this instant attraction between them that was definitely undeniable and I really enjoyed seeing them evolve as a couple and navigate the barriers of that time period when it came to their relationship.

The Lead singer’s story The second book in the Balefire series is Blu Connolly’s story. As the lead singer of Balefire he has had a life full of touring and everything that comes with a rock ‘n’ roll life but didn’t know what he needed until Ashleigh. What follows is a brilliant contemporary rockstar romance that had me hooked. With off the charts chemistry, medium burn romance, some steam, relatable characters and strong storyline it’s a worthy read. Even though this can be read as a stand-alone it is worth starting with book 1 – you won’t be disappointed. Highly Recommend.

All the feels This YA/NA contemporary romance is slow at the start, but takes off about a quarter of the way in. The emotions are raw and the issues all to real. The MC has had a hard life which comes to light throughout the story but she endures. With angst, heartache, suspicions, hard held secrets and betrayal there is so much between the pages and it is not all smooth sailing. A worthy read.

This was one of my favorite books in the Code of Honor series so far! I love that leading lady Angelica is a math teacher, and that Chase is the military man who was her crush back in high school. He’s the type of man who doesn’t do commitment and she’s the type who keeps her heart locked away nice and tight. What a great twist to the series, in the fact that the leading lady is the one who gets to decide if love will be allowed to enter her world or if she’s going to keep it at arm’s reach. This book was such a great continuation to this series, honestly, you could read any of these books as standalone but it’s way better to read them in order as a series because the people you meet do make an appearance again in this book. The storyline was so terrific, and the characters once again are so realistic that you are drawn in and committed to seeing their actions take flight as there are always consequences to the decisions you make, whether good or bad. I love that this book gets you hooked right from the beginning and does not disappoint straight to the end. It’s a quick read, that’ll hold your attention the entire way through. Brooke May did an amazing job with the characters, creating scenarios that fit right in with today’s times, and ways of life. I was rooting for Jody to find her freedom from her sister’s shadow and to be able to follow her own dreams. This book was such a thrill ride of romance, that I just could not put it down. I love the descriptions that create such an amazing effect on the storyline, I felt like I could reach out and touch everything, I literally was living the wild ride that was going on around me. I was so intrigued by this book, right from the start. I was rooting for Patience and Duke to fall in love and have their happily ever after right from the second Patience admitted she was in love with Duke while intoxicated at their graduation party. Best friends to partners always make the best love stories ever! As I continued reading, I felt so sorry for all of the trials that Patience went through in her life, it was so realistic. I was so scared that Duke would never return home and that their friendship would be over forever, doomed from the beginning of their adulthoods. What a fantastic story of courage and withstanding everything life throws at you. I was so inspired by the characters and all they did to stand up for themselves and their beliefs. I absolutely love just about everything Gwyn McNamee writes and this is no exception!
This is the second book in the “The Hawke Family Second Generation” series. While it can be read as standalone, I do highly suggest not only reading the Book 1 in the Second-Generation, but also reading all of the books in the First-Generation Hawke Family. There is a ton of useful information in all of the books that make the reading experience that much better and easier to make deeper connections.
This is book includes tropes such as forbidden romance, billionaires, reverse age gap (The woman is older), Best friends’ older sister. There is a good bit of angsty, spicy romance scenes that are AMAZING! One of the main points, the author, Gwyn, is trying to get across is that blood doesn’t necessarily make you family, your heart and the love you share makes you family.
The forbidden romance is between Jude, who technically is not a Hawke, but has been best friends with Alessi since they were 10, and Alessi’s older sister Angelina (Angie). Alessi and Angelina are the children of Storm Hawke.
Jude has only ever had one obsession, one woman who stands taller than all of the rest, and it is the one person who he cannot have. He is teetering hard on whether or not he should keep ignoring his feelings for Angie, or if it is time to come clean and hopefully have a shot at his happily ever after — his family PLUS the girl.
Angie pretty much despises relationships, and always has due to losing her father at such a young age. But she cannot deny the insane pull she has to Jude – who is also forbidden, he is technically family after all.
In the midst of Angie’s sibling Alessi going missing, lying about small things, avoiding family members. Her and Jude now have to work side by side to figure out what the heck is going on. Now that they are together regularly, that pull, and connection only grows stronger. They both have had so many obstacles and more heartache than a person should deal with, but neither allow themselves to open up which causes them to be misunderstood quite a bit.
Prepare to be captivated by this series, as Gwyn never fails to deliver a compelling storyline filled with romance, danger, family, love, and angst. But what truly sets this series apart is the emotional rollercoaster it takes you on as a reader. Each book allows you to intimately know the characters, every word resonating with you long after you’ve finished reading.

A Forever Kind of Thing by Carrie Thomas and Melinda Harris is a YA romance woven with plenty of teen drama, angst, and emotion. Not having read any of these two authors work before, I wasn’t sure of what to expect from one of their stories, but I do enjoy YA books, and the cover piqued my curiosity enough to want to find out, plus I really needed a ‘break’ from the heavier reads I have been devouring of late, so I took a chance and set off to explore. The story is kind of sweet, with teen issues that we can all relate to that added drama and angst to the story. Mina and Wes are great characters who were lovingly crafted by the authors into fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. They were realistic and believable. I just wish I had been able to connect with them enough to really invest in their story. I did like the story but didn’t love it as much as I was hoping to. But that might be a ‘me’ thing, as I have been reading a lot of heavier/darker stories of late- so I have decided to revisit this book again soon to see if perhaps I was just having an ‘off’ reading day with this book the first time around. But, if you love angsty teen stories with heartache, opposites attract, second chances, and plenty of emotion- then you will probably want to add this to you TBR. Happy Reading…

Sing For Me is the second book in the Balefire series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. It is a New Adult contemporary rockstar romance with ‘the girl-next-door’ element, tension, chemistry, sparks, emotion, secrets, drama, angst, and hot spicy details. I know that I have come into this series a little backwards, reading in descending order, but luckily these books can be read as standalones without feeling lost in the storyline, as each book in the series focuses on a different member of the Balefire rock band. This is Blu Connolly’s turn, and he’s the sexy lead singer of the band. Ashleigh is his new next-door neighbour who captivates Blu more than he was prepared for. But, sometimes love comes unexpectedly- as these two discover. Definitely my favourite of the series, so far. Happy Reading…

5/5 Stars I just finished the summer I turned pretty and was very happy for this to be my next read. It’s all the teenage feelings that make you swoon and giddy. It is such a good book and very well written even though it’s about high schoolers. I didn’t feel too old to be reading it. Definitely recommend.

Of the few I have read this series is amongst the top. It’s always nice to read about a couple that has somewhat of a past and ends up getting their HEA. Riordan and Priscilla met as young children and essentially grew up together. Priscilla took a chance and tried to start something romantic with Riordan but he rejected her due to fearing repercussions from her father. It’s been 17 years since they’ve seen each other but the sparks are still there and it seems like no time has passed at all. Although this is the third book of a series it is the first one that I have read. There was great character development and the author did a great job if keeping me engaged. I enjoyed reading about Donna and Antoine. The book has a good pace to it and didn’t drag anything out. At first I was a little leery of the book since Donna was contemplating just ending everything and then Antoine had come and saved her. Once I read further into the book, I was glad that I kept reading. The character development was fantastic. Seeing go from the lowest point to being confident in herself again made me cheer out for joy for her. Gustav as the villain was really good. I was surprised I found myself liking him just a little. Very well done and well written! I lost many hours reading this book!
Well I’m a sap. And this is a sad but sappy and happy story. Regaining Integrity can give even the slightest empath, the feels. The author sucks you in, though I’m not surprised having read her books in the past. This book is no different. She’s one of my favorites for a reason. Every single book I’ve read by her makes me feel like I’m the main character. I feel the happiness, sadness, the hurt and pain. I can relate to the characters because they are so raw and real. Angelica and Chase have been given a chance. Her chance to forgive. And him to right his wrongs, that is if he can figure out how he wronged her. Coming off feisty Chase doesn’t understand why she is this way with him. It’s new and unfamiliar territory, but he knows he still wants more of her and it won’t stop it. A second chance romance that makes one happy. And though this is the 4th book in the series, it’s a standalone just the same. If you’re new to this author I encourage you to read it all, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re a fan as I am, enjoy.

I don’t know how this series keeps getting better and better, but it does! This is the continuation story of Issac Hawke and Jack, whom we met in the prequel, “Night Hawke.” Several years after their first steamy encounter, Jack shows back up in Isaac’s life and boy does she have a surprise for him.
I’m a sucker for a great secret baby book and this one definitely doesn’t disappoint as Gwyn McNamee has filled it full of twists and turns that will keep you glued to the page. These characters are well written and have the chemistry to set a volcano ablaze! I really love this story and this series.
