This book was an interesting read. the story between Malakai and Bryon was like no other, especially on how your inner self can reflect on how you view others or celestials. Also, how this book took a turn from hunting these entities to falling for them a helping instead, was an amazing turn of events. This book really kept me guessing while I was reading it. The way the author visibly wrote out the worlds in this book made you feel like you were right in the book. This book is also very good without having to read the others, but I highly suggest you do, you will not be disappointed.

Shameless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls Book 2) by KG Fletcher – Review by Megan Pesek

Shameless Love (The Bennetts of Langston Falls, #2)Shameless Love by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shameless Love focuses on Walt Bennett’s story and his love story with Elyse. Elyse is a producer who is hoping to work with Walt’s sister, but Walt just can’t get enough of Elyse. Sparks fly immediately when Elyse and Walt meet and they never let up! Their love story is relatively uncomplicated and without romantic drama.
Shameless Love is a story of love, family, and forgiveness. All of which play a major role in the plot and keep the story moving. It’s a sweet story of love in a small town living the simple life.

Taming Brooklyn (The Club Kings Series Book 1)Taming Brooklyn by Charlotte St. Pierre
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Taming Brooklyn is a delightful romance tale and is the first book in The Club Kings series. Let me tell you The Club Kings are hot! This is my first time reading anything by Charlotte and I was happy to find I liked her work. Now I will be going back to indulge in the others.
I love a story that is dark and Taming Brooklyn is just that. There is steamy romance that is slow burning but then there is romance where it hits you instantly. With a dangerous ex, a stalker and sexy men who are protective and alpha what could go wrong? The answer is plenty.
The story is told in multiple POV which is the best way to tell stories these days because you get a better inside look in to the true character of these fully realised complex characters. Their story is spicy, sexy, steamy and hot along with some fun. I perfect read to escape the world worries for a bit and enjoy some adult time with a healthy dose of a stiff drink.
I can’t wait to read more of Charlottes work.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really gripping read. The author is new to me but I will definately be keeping my eyes open for more books. I loved the story and the role reversal. It was nice to read a romance Suspense with the female character being the protector instead of the male. The romance and chemistry is a slow burn as both Ginger and Jack have issues to deal with but there is no denying that it is there.

Jack is running to become president when he and his friends and family are attacked. In that one moment he lost his friends and his pregnant wife and he feels like his life is over. Why would someone do this to him? When he has time to recover he decides to keep on with his race to become president but the danger hasn’t passed and he relys on his security team to keep him safe. One person in that team though catches his eye in a way not entirely professional.

Agent Ginger Carver has been assigned to cover Jack’s protection detail. She has seen his darkest moments of losing everyone he cared for and his slow rise to pick himself up. She realises that her feelings are growing in ways that aren’t professional but with the increased risk Jack if he makes president and the unknown person(s) trying to take his life Ginger knows she can’t allow herself to be distracted from the main goal. Protecting Jack at all costs.
Will they give into the chemistry between them? Will it mean Ginger takes her eye off the ball?
Can she protect him while allowing her emotions take over?

Loved reverse harems! This story was wonderful! I love how Brooklyn’s character is a tough and independent woman, and although scared of her past catching up is still trying to look forward to her future. Her future at her job, and with her men. Of course I fell in love with Jaxon, Oliver and Gideon right away but knew I would grow to love Aiden eventually. I love that these men don’t care about her scares, they care about her, keeping her safe and telling her how beautiful she is. If only this was real life, sigh. I can’t wait to see what comes next, since Lyle is still out there and I have a feeling I there are going to be some crazy twists coming up.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by her. Her books are engaging, hard to put down and this one is no different. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world from the start. They are connectable and bring romance and action to another level. They have great growth as well as bring a lot to the story. This is a well written story that is fast paced and one you don’t want to miss. A story about what happens when you get a last minute movie ticket and the unexpected things that happen. You need to read this book to find out what happens next for sure. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Suspense and romance
This is a good contemporary reverse harem (why choose) romance. I liked Brooklyn and all the guys. Each one had their own personality and it is told in multiple POV which also adds a deeper connection to the characters. There’s also an underlying stalker storyline. This is the first book in The Club Kings series and ends on a cliffhanger. Looking forward to reading book 2.

Such a cute book. Cash and Hollis have nothing in common except her dog grooming shop is next door to his bar. When the prank war between them gets seemingly out of hand, they form a truce to save the bar. They learn a lot during their truce, including how much chemistry is between them. Things aren’t always as they seem and when the truth comes out will they go back to their corners and come out fighting, or will they be able to start anew?

Great start to this new series.Brooklyn has many secrets that she has kept in the back of her mind. Now she is looking to make her life a much happier one. But how? So when she goes out with her friend, she finds herself in the middle of many steamy hot men. How does she choose? Why should she? Will her secrets chase them off? Reading this story is the only way you will get answers. No Spoilers! This is a fast paced story that involves many aspects to finding the romance that will satisfy everybody involved. The characters are in my opinion amazing and fun to read about. There are some dark areas in this story, even some romantic areas as well. This is a new author for me, but one I will be looking out for as I want to see how this series ends up.

3.5 Stars

Taming Brooklyn is the first book in The Kings Club series by Charlotte St. Pierre. This is a reverse harem/why choose contemporary romance with chemistry, secrets, angst, protective alpha-male types, insta-lust, stalker, danger, emotion, steam, suspense, past-trauma, and dramatic developments.
The story is told from multiple POV’s which gives us a great perspective of what is happening. The story also has some darker details which could be considered as triggers for some, such as- child neglect, abuse, sexual assault, rape, and domestic-violence- so be warned.
The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger and is set to continue in the next instalment.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Charlotte St. Pierre!

Taming Brooklyn (The Club Kings Series Book 1)Taming Brooklyn by Charlotte St. Pierre
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a good start to a new series!

From the first moment that Jaxon and Oliver see Brooklyn from the owner’s area, it is insta-lust. Due to her past, it has been years since Brooklyn had been intimate with a man…but these two were bulldozing their way through the barriers she has set up to protect herself. Add in Gideon, the silent brother in charge of security…and she soon finds herself in a relationship with three of the four King brothers. But, when her past shows up on her doorstep, the brothers vow to keep her safe. However, allowing herself to let others help her is not something that Brooklyn is good at. And, even though Aiden does his best to keep his distance, the fourth brother finds himself falling for Brooklyn as well. Brooklyn may believe she is broken…but these men want to be the ones to put her back together. Will she let them? Or will she push them away and take care of herself like she has for years?

I enjoyed this book. The characters each have their own unique personalities that mesh well. The storyline is one of heartbreak and heart-mending. There were some H-O-T bedroom scenes, a stalker ex-boyfriend, and past trauma that has shaped the characters into the people they are today. I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

This was a great 4 star read. I love dark Mafia reads and this one did not disappoint. My emotions were all over the place. The characters were great, you could feel their connection coming off the pages. Viviana wanted vengeance and Stefano wanted revenge. Will these two coming together help them get what they both want? We get action, steaminess and so much more in this read. I really enjoyed the ending. The author does a great job with her writing and pulls you right in. You ever opened a book and gotten a few lines in and just get a chill? Like you know you’re about to go for a wild ride? That’s what happened for me with this book. This author hits some very trigging subjects very well. Triggers aren’t for everyone and that totally fine but I do appreciate how well the author does them. My only real draw back are the flash backs but that’s more of a me hold up than the author so don’t let that stop you. The characters are complex and pulled me in right away. The storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat most of the time. I’m giving this read four stars and highly recommend. Can’t wait to see where this author takes readers next!

(Spoilers)
I’ve read a lot of other books by this author, and she’s an author I recommend to a lot of people. I was really excited to start on this book, and it hooked me right from the beginning. Make sure you look at the content warnings before reading this book, as it does have some graphic scenes regarding SH, suicidal ideation, as well as SA and conversations about terminating pregnancies.

As I said, this book had a really strong start- revenge plot, against the MMC’s dad, Mafia romance, dark romance, forced proximity, and instant attraction. However, as the story progressed, I honestly kept disliking the MMC. I’m a fan of red flags waving in the review mirror, but honestly the MMC of this book almost made it hard to enjoy. He treated the FMC like utter trash up until like 90% of the book. And the way he was going to force her to terminate her pregnancy? No ma’am, no ham, no turkey!

I’m not a stranger to dark romances, heck, I’ve read most of the major ones on BookTok, but the way he just kept treating her throughout the book just made me disinterested in the romance sub-plot. The spice is there, but the plot just wasn’t for me. It might be your cup of tea, once again just read the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, but it wasn’t a book I overly loved. However, I do still recommend this author and her other works! Go check them out!

**READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS** This is my first time reading this author, and I will surely be looking into some of her other works as well. I am not usually drawn to mafia romance, but the trigger warnings made me curious. (And if you DO have triggers, definitely don’t skip past the warnings on this one) Vivianne’s life changes when her best friend is murdered on a trip to New York. Seeking revenge, she infiltrates the mafia scene to seduce (and get close to) the head of the infamous Vaccaro family. Her plans to get close to her enemy seems to be going well….until she meets Nazario, the son of the killer (Stefano). Lucky for her, Nazario knows exactly what type of man Stefano is, and also wants his father dethroned. The two fight their passion for each other, but inevitably things get rather complicated as they give in to their love. I loved the characters and the plot, and how quickly this book was able to draw me in. Deadly Intentions is very dark and has plenty of twisted pages to keep you on edge, and if you can get past the hard parts, is definitely recommended.

I was super excited for this 2nd book in the series to come out with Walt and Elyse’s story. This could be read as a standalone, but I highly highly highly recommend reading the first book before diving into book 2. The author did NOT disappoint and I can say this story gave me all the feels…….there is no doubt the attraction and love that Walt and Elyse have and I am all in….and how can you resist a broody man!

Walter Bennett is hardworking, charming southern gentleman and one of the protecting Bennett brothers and does everything for the love of his family. When an opportunity arises for Walt’s sister, Becky arises, Walt is there to support Becky in every-way, even with his eyes on the beautiful Elyse.

Elyse is television producer that has her eyes set initially on Becky, Walt’s sister, and her popular Youtube cooking show. When Elyse meets Walt for the first time the attraction is totally undeniable. Elyse is all business by day, but things change when feelings are involved especially with Walt.

Can love survive distance when Walt is at Langston Falls while Elyse is in Atlanta…..Can Walt protect Elyse and the Bennett Family when the past comes knocking at his door?

This story was fantastic…..romance, drama, sweet moments and the power of healing from the past. I am so looking forward to book 3!!!!

The first in a series (of hopefully many), Tamaska and Kodiak cross path multiple times while on the search for the Blood Opal, Tamaska to save her career, Kodiak to save his pack. Vampires, Werewolves and a lot of sexual tension fill this page turner with excitement, intrigue and anticipation of what’s to come in the next installment of the Protector Wolf Shifter Series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The fact that this is a mafia romance, dark and disturbing moments are expected. Definitely read the author’s note to make sure this isn’t a book you bit off more than you could chew. If you decide to move forward and give it a shot you will definitely be rewarded in the amazing masterpiece this book is.

Vivianne’s life is going pretty well until one night changes everything and her best friend Donnatella is murdered on a girl’s trip in the big apple. Set upon revenge Vivianne hides the girl she once was, the quiet studious one for a more alluring vixen to attract the man she knows murdered her best friend. He just so happens to be Stefano, head of the Vaccaro crime family and notoriously despicable. As his mistress she is in a position extremely close to him to enact her plan of revenge, until Nazario, his son, enters the picture and reawakens desires she thought long gone. Nazario knows what kind of man his father is and the beauty on his arm is playing a dangerous game. Is Vivianne in way over her head? Can Nazario continue with his plan to take his father’s place as head of the crime family while also protecting a girl who turned his world upside down?

This is definitely a dark and twisty book with lots of romance, intrigue, mystery, and violence that will have you rooting for Nazario and Vivianne as they try to overcome the despicable Stefano. If you like mafia romances then definitely give this one a try you won’t regret it but definitely take the author’s warning to heart. As some dark moments may be uncomfortable to get through.

I am never disappointed by Anise Storm’s books, and this one is certainly no different! I really loved the amount of depth for each character as they each brought something to the story that felt necessary. I didn’t feel weighed down by details that could’ve easily been left out. I enjoyed the darkness of the story, but as always, the trigger warnings are deeply appreciated. Deadly Intentions is emotionally charged, full of revenge, and plenty of incredibly steamy scenes. Reading about Viviana’s elaborate quest for revenge elicits plenty of emotion…and not all negative by a long shot. Ruthless Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation Book 1)Ruthless Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the series of the 2nd generation of Hawkes. It does NOT disappoint!!!! I absolutely devoured this book in one sitting! I couldn’t put it down. While it is not needed to read the first generation, I definitely suggest to. It will give you an intense amount of back story of most of the characters in the book. Why they act a certain way, or do things a little odd.

Issac and Mina are 🔥🔥🔥 . I recommend reading the prequel, but if you’d like you definitely can just jump right in to this book. I absolutely LOVE their chemistry. Everything about them is electric. This may very well be my favorite book from Gwyn McNamee. Issac may be hard on the outside, but he is ALWAYS loyal to his family. He will do absolutely anything to protect them.

Mina and Issac had a weekend together 5 years ago, neither have ever been able to forget the other. But, unfortunately they weren’t able to find eachother since they both gave fake names. After Mina’s family is in danger, she is sent to live with the Hawkes, a family friend of her father’s. Fate brought them back together, but it won’t be so simple to just be together. There are many complications now, and they will fight their attraction until it’s impossible to ignore.

I definitely recommend reading this book & any of the others in this series or the 1st generation Hawkes!

This book is so good! One of the best mafia stories I have ever read. However, it definitely comes with plenty of dark moments and a trigger warning that should definitely be read and taken into consideration. Nazario and Viviana are very complex characters and I really enjoyed reading them. Ginny Meyer is returning home to help her dad who is having surgery. Her plan is to stay by his side and avoid ex-husband Max Sanchez. She cannot deny she still holds a torch for him but seeing him would just hurt her more. The plan falls apart though when she sees Max and her dad makes it known he wants them together. Max knows he was absent in his marriage, he just wants Ginny back. Now she is home and he has an opportunity to win her back, can they forget the past and make a fresh start?

This was a fun one. I especially liked the fact that the author let the characters have honest emotions. I thought this book was filled with a lot of the emotions one would have about returning home to a past that held hurt, hope and more. Really good story.

Ale's Fair in Love and War (Love on Tap, #1)Ale’s Fair in Love and War by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This novel was sweet! I loved the rivalry between the business neighbors. Ale’s Fair in Love and War is an enemies to lovers’ romance. The author sucks you in with a fun playful game of pranks and animosity by the main characters. I’ve read enemies to lovers romances before I feel this one was one of the more playful happy ones.
Cash and Hollis have a love/hate relationship. Constantly playing pranks on one another, Hollis goes as far as sending a glitter bomb Cash’s way. But when the Health Inspector makes an unexpected visit to Cash’s brewery, he thinks it’s another one of Hollis’s games and doesn’t take it seriously. Unfortunately it’s very much serious and he has 3-4 weeks to make about 25k worth of upgrades or his brewery will be shut down.
Hollis steps in and offers to help, thinking her stepfather is behind it. Cash may have been resistant at first but was glad for the help. In turn they realized they weren’t that different.
Do they succeed in raising the money needed for the upgrades?
What about their budding chemistry?
This book makes you smile, makes you frown, it also makes you laugh if you appreciate the author’s humor. But one thing it does is genuinely bring a smile to one’s face. I look forward into digging into book 2 as well as other books by this author.
