Drag Me Down
By Landra Graf
5 star

Drag and Bridget the two main characters have a lot of deep history and love that goes way back. Drag was betrayed and framed by Bridget and throughout the book doesn’t know the truth. Now after 12 years Bridget needs to team up with Drag and his gang to take town someone before it is to late.
This had a lot of loyalty on each side and family like atmosphere when it comes to the main characters when it comes to their gangs. I loved the dual POV and getting to see each side’s feelings towards another after all these years.

Hell in a Handbasket (Life is Hell Series Book 3) by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Megan Rea

Hell in a Handbasket (Life is Hell #3)Hell in a Handbasket by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the next addition to the Life is Hell series and while it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend reading the first two books just so you have the background for everyone and so that you understand the whys and whats of the storyline. This is definitely a slow burn and while it wasn’t my favorite of the series so far, Valkyrie definitely knows what she’s doing when it comes to paranormal romances. I really liked getting to know Teivel’s character better…he really intrigued me in the other stories but I felt that his and Oren’s story was rushed in the end. I would have like to seen the ending to their story more developed. It felt a bit thrown together (and personally, I’m not happy about what happens at the end but I won’t spoil it for anyone ;)). As always, I love how Valkyrie continues to incorporate her characters from previous stories and how she teases characters that *might* be coming up in future stories. I can’t wait for this series to continue!

Drag Me Down is the fourth book in the Full Throttle Cyborgs series by Landra Graf. It is another full throttle sci-fi romance brimming with action, super-charged chemistry, plenty of sparks, sizzle, drama, danger, tension, emotion, cyborgs, and so much more. This intriguing plot for revenge that turns enemies into lovers, with a second chance at romance- which definitely dragged me in and had me invested right from the get-go.
I love all Ms. Graf’s books, but this is definitely one of my most favourites reads from her. And as with the rest of the series, it gives off a bit of a futuristic ‘Fast and Furious’ vibe. So strap in for a thrilling ride…
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Landra Graf!

I was a little hesitant on reading this book because i was afraid of it being a chaotic mess with so many “cooks in the kitchen”, BUT, It was really good! You absolutely cannot tell where one author’s part ends and another begins. They managed to make this very seamless and I am impressed. I enjoyed the main characters in this one and the amount of spice was just right for the mood I was in! There was mystery, supense and Paranormal/fantasy element that all made up this romance and it was a very nice book! I am very much looking forward to reading anything else this group of authors puts out!

I don’t know how this author completely knocks it out of the park every single time, but I am here for it! This series is one of my favorites of the year. Teivel and Oren are absolutely incredible in this book. I would recommend picking up the first two books in the series so you can gain all of the background as well as meet the characters and learn their stories. I am a giant fan of dual points of view, and we get plenty of it in this one. Oren and Teivel are my favorites thus far, so I was more than happy to devour this book in a single sitting! Their chemistry is unbelievable and unpredictable. This author is on my favorites list because she never ceases to amaze me! I know that when I see her name on the cover, there’s no doubt in my mind that I’m picking it up and going on a unique adventure. I highly recommend picking this one up (and the first two) and getting lost in this paranormal romance, you won’t regret it!

This is the third installment of the Bold Journeys series, but you can definitely read it as a standalone if you want to jump right in. The author has an incredibly way of not only engaging the reader but handling serious topics while doing so! I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster with some twists and turns along the way. There is definitely a strong romance theme with some steamy scenes, but there is so much more involved. The characters are well-developed and have you invested almost immediately. Barbara is a force to be reckoned with! I absolutely love her tenacity combined with the vulnerability she shows Sebastian. I must have obtained a few of these by now, but Sebastian is my new book boyfriend! You can feel their chemistry leap off the pages, and he’s relatable and compassionate. I recommend picking this up if you’re looking for a book that’s not your average romance novel!

To start off if you can’t tell by the title of my review this story was written by 10 different authors which is WILD to me, it’s not multiple little stories in one volume, no this is 10 writers coming together to create one epic fantasy.

I was hesitant about the fact that there were so many hands in the compilation of this book but it was done well and flows seamlessly. To be honest I quite enjoyed this more than I have any other book recently. It’s filled with fantasy, action, a little romance, hard decisions, witty banter, a little angst, it takes place (partially) in New Orleans which is not only my favorite city, but the perfect setting for all things strange and unusual.

The female main character Aeris, I absolutely adored, I love her fiery personality, her inquisitive nature and her penchant for trouble. Honestly, she was refreshing as a strong, female main character, making the hard choices and following her heart.

I also enjoyed our male main character, he’s a good man and I think the perfect match for Aeris in all ways. I think he’s confused and angry and lost at first and that makes his full character arc much better, to see him grow with the story, rather than staying who he is.

I’m not sure how many books will be in this series but I can definitely say I am here for all of them! There is a much world and lore become realty and some really interesting characters that I would love to see get their moments.

Mood Swings and Hockey Flings (Hot Flash Hookups Book 2)Mood Swings and Hockey Flings by Marika Ray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don’t think I’ve chuckled through a book this hard all year. My husband thought I had lost my mind. Killer Kaitlyn and Banks had chemistry right off the bat from the moment they met at the airport. He had no clue she was a sports agent and she had no clue he was a hockey player. I loved the verbal sparring all the way through. The multiple POV with the earlier timeline and then to the present gave a really good look at how everything came to be. I loved the writing. This is one of my favorite romance writers. They do a fantastic job of making you feel like you are write their. The characters are so easy to relate to. With antagonists like Ed in the story, you don’t need much else. That guy’s like a slimy snail leaving a trail. It was so worth watching Kait and Bennett work things out and seeing them develop their relationship. You have to read this one. Hit that one-click, you won’t be sorry.

This is the second book in this series which is just as great as the first if not better. I highly suggest reading the previous book in this series as well. I enjoy this author’s books and never hesitate to pick one up by her. This is a well written story about an agent who is tougher than nails and a hockey player who was dropped by his agent. What happens between them is something you don’t want to miss. Will she lose control and will he be the one to do it? I enjoyed both of these characters and what they brought to the story. They are connectable, relatable and their chemistry is off the charts. I enjoyed how they pulled me into their world and how easy they made their story to read. There is great growth throughout which makes the story hard to put down. This is a fast paced, engaging story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book. You will want to find out if these two will find what they are least expecting.

I love love LOVE this series. Each book is one that I cannot put down. This is book three of five in the series and I cannot wait to read the other two. These will definitely be books that I read over and over. There have been other books by this author that I have enjoyed as well. With each book I’ve read, she has moved closer and closer to the top of my favorite author list. I would say top 10 for sure, maybe top 5. And I read a lot of books.
We were introduced to Teivel in the very first book. But now, we see more of his story. I love that each book is a different character, but still, all of the characters tie together in a way. It’s one world, but with a fresh take from a different characters POV. The world building and character building is top notch. If you like paranormal reads, this is for you.

In the cutthroat world of professional sports, I’m the agent who always calls the shots. Until a decade-old feud with hockey superstar Banks Bennet resurfaces, and I’m forced to play nice.
When his agent drops him and rumors of a trade swirl through the league faster than a puck on a breakaway, I find myself in the dreaded role of Banks’s new agent. There’s no doubt I can save his career from crashing into the boards, but only if we don’t strangle each other first.
All I need to do is whip this man-baby into shape and negotiate an epic contract that will establish me once and for all as the top hockey agent in the league. No problem, right? But between babysitting Banks, battling perimenopausal mood swings, and fighting this annoying attraction to my client, I’m facing a hat trick of challenges.
Not everything about Banks is what it seems. Under all that bravado and childish behavior lies a sensitive and considerate guy who values more than just his time on the ice–leaving me to wonder if maybe there’s more to life than just wins and losses.
If I’m not careful, my emotions might have me losing control and throwing away the professional playbook for a shot at happily ever after…and that’s not how this game is played.

Touched: Elemental Passions Book One by Skye Turner, Sloane Nicole, April D. Berry, C.J. Pinard, Danielle Jamie, Darlene Tallman, Julie Morgan, Livell James, Machelle Hanleigh, and Melissa MacKinnon – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Touched (Elemental Passions #1)Touched by Skye Turner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Touched is the first book in the Elemental Passions series. The long list of authors caught my eye – initially I thought it would be a collection of short stories and when I realised it was a single story written by so many people I was intrigued to see how it turned out. I was impressed – the story felt consistent and considered throughout.

The story switches between the perspectives of its two protagonists – Callum and Aeris. Aeris is a Fae who enjoys visiting and observing humans. Callum is a New Orleans police detective who is suddenly thrust into the world of Fae and other magical beings when he sees Aeris through the glamour that’s supposed to keep her hidden.

This is an exciting fantasy book, with a great cast of characters! My favourite is Trevor the troll, who proves a helpful and knowledgeable ally. I’m looking forward to seeing more of these characters in the next book!

Touched gets five stars from me! I’d recommend it to fans of urban fantasy and paranormal romance looking for a new obsession. I can’t wait to read more from these authors!

Their journey had me wanting to know what would happen next. They are connectable, relatable and brought the story to life. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout which made the story easy to read. This is a fast paced story that has so much entertaining value. This is one you don’t want to miss. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to the second one. I highly recommend this book.

Better than expected!

I was not really sure what I expected with 10 authors writing on one book, but it drew my interest, I had to give it a read. I ended up really enjoying the overall story. A few places did lull for me, but the overall concept kept me intrigued and turning the page. I can not wait to see what happens. The overall story is well written, flows well, and the characters are well developed. I would recommend this book to others.

Wonderful paranormal fae romance that is set in New Orleans. The book is written by a collection of 10 authors: Skye Turner, Sloane Nicole, April D. Berry, C.J. Pinard, Danielle Jamie, Darlene Tallman, Julie Moran, Livell James, Machelle, Hanleigh, Melissa McKinnon.

The book started a little slow but picked up about a third of the way through. The romance is insta-love/insta-lust with mystery, tension, and of course insane chemistry. I thoroughly enjoyed their love story, especially that it is a forbidden love. Aeris, who is fae, is very interested in humans outside of her home, Laric. But she is given several warnings from her older brother about them. Her curiosity wins out, and she decides to use glamour to watch humans. The twist is… Callum, a police detective, (human…..or is he?) can see her.

Aeris doesn’t understand how Callum could see her, but after some research, she realizes glamour does not work on other mythological creatures. Since Callum, must have mythological blood, she reveals to him that she is fae. But what type of creature is Callum?

There are lots of twists and turns that are executed perfectly. I was worried that the book would not flow properly considering how many authors are involved, but the story is seamless. There is steam, but it is toned down and is more plot than steam. The book was excellent and intricately woven. This is the first book of a five-part series, and I will definitely be reading all five.

What Eyes Can’t See is the third book in the Bold Journeys series by Paulette Stout. It is a women’s fiction story with a contemporary spicy romance, drama, angst, social issues/commentary, opposites attract, slow burn, fling to enemies-to-lovers(ish) storyline, BWWM (interracial romance), discrimination & racism, a quest for justice, emotion, finding where you belong, and a journey of self-discovery.
While this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone without feeling like you are ‘missing’ anything, as this book focuses on a different ‘couple’.
Barbara Washington is a hardworking and ambitious attorney whose plans for the future went up in spoke the moment she caught her fiancé cheating. With her own plans upended, she gifts her destination wedding to a friend, and attends even though her heart is heavy. There, she meets Sebastian, who is also an attorney- and they have an immediate connection- soon the sparks fly. Barabara returns to New York, expecting to get a promotion that was all but promised to her- only to find the position has been given to someone else—- a newcomer to the firm – and to make matters worse the ‘new-hire’ just happens to be Sebastian – awkward much. When she is then fired, discriminatorily, Barbara embarks on a quest for justice.
Happy Reading…

What Eyes Can’t See is a women’s fiction story in Paulette’s Bold Journeys series. Paulette is known for writing stories that are often outside people’s comfort zones. This contemporary fiction story is fast paced and filled with lots of emotions, betrayal, pain, angst, disgust, drama, steam and laughter and lots more.
This is a thought-provoking story is that of two people both Lawyers who grew up on different sides of the track. One with money and one without. One white and one black. One a woman and one a man. But two people who fight for justice.
Barbara’s journey takes us along as she tackles issues of infidelity, being a black woman in a high demanding role and family issues, multi-cultural relationships, courtroom drama, and racial discrimination. It’s a wonder she’s still standing but along this journey she grows in strength and self-worth.
Sebastian’s journey is just as hard as he has had to fight for everything including for his life. Now he finds himself in a position that no man in love should find themselves and has to once again fight for what he wants.
I like Paulette’s writing style and it is an interesting story that kept the pages keep turning.

I also loved how the authors blended the human world with the Fae’s world Laric. It felt like it was just outside their reach so close but so far. It added a lot of suspense that helped the story feel that much more intense! I can’t wait to read more books by this amazing team!

I’m Teivel Tynan, tracker demon, consumed with bitterness and afraid to love again – but also ridiculously attracted to Oren, my ex’s deputy. I come with a ton of baggage and he’s a Demon Hunter. Everything seems stacked against us.
When a bundle of joy mysteriously appears on Oren’s doorstep, it leads us to a mystery we never expected. Forced together in order to save lives, a fragile connection is built between us. Everything I never knew I wanted is now a possibility.
I’ve faced down many a monster and demon, but am I brave enough to hold onto the promise of a future when everything around us goes to hell in a hand basket?

The Better Man (Silver Buckle Brides, #2)

A heartwarming romance so full of hope, hurt, forgiveness, tragedy, healing and so much more that you just don’t want to put it down, it sucked me right in from the beginning.
Jamie and Laramee (I love her name) are two broken souls who have so faced so much tragedy in their past and have so much to overcome. How will they find a way together, you will have to read it to find out.
This book is so well written, and sets off all the feelers, you don’t want to miss out on this series..

Touched (Elemental Passions #1)Touched by Skye Turner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ten author’s in this one so I had to check it out and I wasn’t disappointed
This book is a little slow to start but it’s to allow you to.understand the characters
Aeris is an inquisitive fae and she’s very curious about humans and the lives they live. She sneaks regularly into the human world with a glamor so no one can see her, that is until she literally runs into Callum who terrifies Aeris as he can see her!
Callum is your standard detective and is blown away by the beauty of Aeris when he sees her the first time. She runs away and he searches to no avail. He finally goes into a meeting to learn about a bust location and while driving he drops his phone only to hit a pedestrian. When he comes around the corner of his car there she is!
The chemistry in between them is electric and can’t be denied. Aeris comes back and decides to tell Callum that she’s fae but a bad storm comes and pulls Aeris home a surefire skill of her father
If Callum can see her he must not only be human, but if he’s not human what is he and what does it mean. How does he fit into this world of fae and why id Aeris so inexplicably drawn to Callum. And what of the fae? She’s broken ancient laws and rules will she suffer consequences never to see callum again? What they dont realize their meeting has set off a series of events that has waited for generations to come to fruituin
Ancient prophecy, Romance , politics, fighting for love, so much to unpack in this story and it was very well done

Touched: Elemental Passions Book One by Skye Turner, Sloane Nicole, April D. Berry, C.J. Pinard, Danielle Jamie, Darlene Tallman, Julie Morgan, Livell James, Machelle Hanleigh, and Melissa MacKinnon – Review by Juls Dick

Touched (Elemental Passions #1)Touched by Skye Turner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Touched is the first book in the Elemental Passions series, this book took me a little bit of time to get into but after the first couple of chapters I couldn’t put it down. The story follows Aeris, who is an air fae with a thirst for knowledge, when she accidentally bumps into police detective Callum while exploring the city of New Orleans, which is a shock to Aeris as she should be invisible to humans. However, there is more to Callum than either of them know. The pair are not aware that the instant spark between them start a prophecy that has implications for both the human and fae worlds. This book had a good mix of mystery, action and romance. Would recommend for fans of paranormal romance.

Wow this is one of those books that once you start it you cannot put it down.
We meet Laramee as she returns home to the ranch, a place that holds many memories, some good and some heartbreaking, her family friends and her ex fiance.
We also meet Jamie who has been hired to assess the family ranch for sale.
There is chemistry, but both sides have secrets and we follow them as they work together, work against each other and watch each other come to terms with themselves. As we wait to see if the family ranch will stay in the family, or get sold on. can they make a go of their relationship.
A well written book, with a great well described world, honest emotion and characters that you feel you know. The character development is indepth and the story certainly keeps you hooked.
I will certainly read more from this author.
