I was so excited to get my hands on the next book in this series. It is one that I have loved from the start and any book from this author is always a success. This book had so much going on. The characters have to navigate secrets and betrayals and yet they seem to manage to do it with ease. Their connection is undeniable and it draws you into the book even more.
I don’t know how this author always manages to create such amazing stories. This series has been going long enough that it should have started to run out of steam. And yet, each book just seems to get better and better. This was another incredible book and I am looking forward to whatever is to come next.

Fractured Hearts-Prospect (Grimm Wolves MC Book 7) by D.M. Earl. I love this series and while this book can be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading them in order to better enjoy it. Each book I read I say its my new favorite and this one is no different. It’s Celestia or Celee’s and Dingo’s story. Dingo is sexy as all get out and I fell in love with him during this book. He is a prospect for the MC Grimm Wolves and works his butt off for them. Dingo is very reliable and when his club is tasked with keeping Celee safe he promises to do it with everything he is. Meeting Celee thru a chat room is not typical but when he finds out she needs help he knows his club is up to task. Celee is on the run from her father of all people and he has dangerous people everywhere. She is scared but somehow feels safe with Dingo. Dingo and Celee are broken people but have worked hard to get past their heartaches. Will they be able to take a chance on love and will Celee even survive her father to find out. I loved this fast paced MC romance.

This was a good book. I enjoy books by this author and this one was no different. I thought the characters were well developed and that the plot moved along. It was a little darker than others that I’ve read by this author which I liked. I found the chemistry of the characters to be very good. Also, I enjoyed dual POV in this genre to get both perspectives.

No Amends by Angela Lam – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

No AmendsNo Amends by Angela Lam
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

No Amends is a taut, F/F psychological suspense full of action, drama, mystery, intrigue, suspense, forbidden love, secrets, lies, deception, passion, and raw emotions. This book grabbed my attention from the first few pages and gripped me until the end. The story centers around the main characters of Tang and Dee who meet by chance and start a secret affair. Unbeknownst to Tang, their affair is not the only thing that Dee has been keeping a secret from her. When Tang’s live-in girlfriend, Layla, starts to suspect the affair Tang calls things off with Dee thinking that she can move forward and fix her relationship with Layla. Dee does not understand why Tang suddenly calls things off and refuses to fade into the background. When Dee suddenly ends up dead after a horrific car accident Tang is devastated and consumed with guilt. As it turns out, Dee is not the only one keeping secrets and running from the truth. As the investigation into Dee’s accident continues it starts to unravel secrets and lies that may have been better left hidden. This story was full of twists and turns as it took us into the world of a twisted mind that would do anything for love. A riveting, edge of your seat thrill ride that will keep you hooked until the final pages. I highly recommend this book!

Sweet Vengeance (Mission Belles Book 3) by Pamela Gibson – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Sweet Vengeance (Mission Belles #3)Sweet Vengeance by Pamela Gibson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging historical romance which kept me happily turning the pages. Elena Santoro sets off for Northern California after her dying mother’s urgent plea to kill her brother’s murderer. Although Elena knows she has both the skill and training to accomplish this, she’s unsure if she actually has the nerve to kill a man who she once admired. Former spy turned horse trainer Sean Mitchell is cautious when Elena, a woman who he knows is both seductive and dangerous turns up. However, he’s confused by his sister’s disappearance and Elena is offering to help him search for her, but he’s not forgotten that her brother was once his enemy. Sean soon discovers that he has a mysterious enemy who is determined to find his sister before he does. As Sean and Elena work together to find his missing sister and elude their enemy their mutual attraction grows. Their deepening affection is worrying as the ghost of Elena’s brother will always come between them. Set amongst the chaos of the gold rush in San Francisco the author does a great job of bringing both the setting and the era vividly to life, by both the descriptive narrative and the added historical details. The intriguing storyline along with the likeable and relatable characters kept me hooked. Whilst I loved the chemistry between Elena and Sean I also liked how their relationship developed throughout the story. Although part of a series I happily read it as a standalone story, but having enjoyed it I am keen to read the previous books in this series now.

Sweet Vengeance (Mission Belles #3)Sweet Vengeance by Pamela Gibson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I didn’t realize that this was book 3 when I started reading it, but I will have to say that you don’t have to have read the other books to know what was going on. This book was great to be a stand-alone book, however I do not know about the other 2 books if they are able to read alone as while. this book was filled with historical events and details, that are intended into the events of the characters. This book was also filled with adventure with Elena on a quest to fulfil her mothers wish. The mystery that follows Sean with trying to find hi missing sister. It was filled with suspense and twists and turns that really kept me hooked into this book that I had to finish reading it. the character development was amazing to the fact I really felt like I know these people and were experiencing everything with them. I felt like I was right there in with the gold rush, that I really thought this could have been true for the time. This was an amazing read and if you like history mixed into a great story this is a book or series you should pick up.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my goodness I could just climb into this cover and live on the land ! After reading the story between the pages I feel a little different though because it’s sad yet beautiful I know it makes no sense but so much sense at the same time 🙈🤷‍♀️🥰🤣

So Elena swears to her mother , on her deathbed , that she will avenge the death of her brother , a modern can not go unpunished after all and make no mistake Elena is no fading wallflower and has the know how and skills to take a man out ! The tough thing is that the man that is believed to have the bliss of her brother on his hands is someone she used to admire and hold in high regard ….

Sean was a spy but after time in prison he finds the company of horses and any animal for that matter better than the company of humans and he’s got the knack to work with horses and has earned himself quite the reputation…

I loved living through Elena and Sean and the writing style really made me feel like I was there and I regret not having read the first 2 books as well but ready assured I’m going one clicking ❣️📚

Once again the author manages to weave a web so tight that you cannot get out of it, a continuation of the Hidden Valley Elite series.
We follow along with Shane after the issues with Luke, the police and investigation and the return of his childhood nemesis.
Winter following the advice of her councillor and her now family returns to confront aspects of her past, the area where everything went wrong. Emotions run high and she struggles to move past certain aspects of the past.
The feeling that something is very wrong follows both Shane and Winter.
There is certainty a past aspect of bullying, and the constant angst that there is someone in the background, but who it is?? It could be a family member, a jilted lover, a stalker.
The rollercoaster of story keeps Aspen and Pheonix, their Grandad, Joe, the Uncle and cousins all continue to develop. The world building and continuity is great. I really am anxious to know what happens next.
Book seven in the Grimm Wolves MC series, it is recommended that you read the entire series in order however being the rebel that I am, this is my first read of the series. While there may be overlap of characters and situations, I did not feel lost and was able to connect and not feel lost or left out.
Dingo and Celee’s story was packed with danger, action, suspense, and drama. It captured my attention from the first couple pages and I read it in one sitting. Now I must go read the others.

Sweet Vengeance (Mission Belles #3)Sweet Vengeance by Pamela Gibson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read of Pamela Gibson and although it is book 3 in the Mission Belles series I read it as a stand alone novel. In hindsight I feel that some background knowledge from the previous 2 books would have helped with knowledge of characters and character development. It took till the last 3/4 of the book before my interest was completely captured and then I found it hard to put down. Elena set out to kill Sean as revenge for her brother’s death but in the end Sean’s sweet nature and the hard truth won her heart.

Sweet Vengeance (Mission Belles #3)Sweet Vengeance by Pamela Gibson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first time reading a book by this author. I decided to read the book because it takes place during the California gold rush. I would think it was a exciting but also very dangerous time. I thought it was interesting to see Elena was heading into possible danger to fulfill her mothers wish on her death bed. What kind of danger will Elena face as she hunts down the man who killed her brother?
The author does a beautiful job of world building and character building. I could connect with the characters and get a feel for what they were thinking and struggling with. Overall, I enjoyed the book and will likely be reading other books in this series very soon.

Sweet Vengeance (Mission Belles #3)Sweet Vengeance by Pamela Gibson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’m torn when it comes to picking up books already in the midst of a series. Some can be considered stand alone and have such a pleasure reading. This one can get you a bit lost in the past story content but overall it was still a good read! I absolutely loved Elena! Such a strong, determined female character. Story takes place in the 1800s in the Old West of California. I really love how they embrace the Spanish language, its American immersion to the Old West atmosphere and historical places. Elena is on a quest to grant her mother’s dying wish to murder her brother’s killer. With her trained mind and skill set, there is nothing stopping her to get to the bottom of this. She ends up meeting Sean during her travels, who is a former spy and now a horse trainer. He already suspects Elena may have ulterior motives, which makes him even more intrigued by her presence. What they find along the way and rely on each other end up being a journey they will not forget.

I fell in love with Hot Flashes and Hockey Slashes by Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart from the very first chapter. Olivia and Roman are fun, relatable, and hilarious characters that capture your heart immediately. The fact that Olivia is menopausal and a little bit of a hot mess is fantastic and made her so lovable. And as a sports fan myself, I loved the hockey player Roman and his ability to step in and help his daughter when she asked him for a big favor. Humor and spice makes everything nice. This is a great read about hockey, hot flashes, family dynamics, and finding love again.

I was pulled straight back into these characters and their lives and couldn’t wait to see what was in store for Shane and Winter. This series has become one of my favourites and this book just reinforces exactly why. It is well written and I fell in love with these characters immediately.
This author seems to be able to create an incredible story no matter what she turns her hand to. I have already read the previous books in this series multiple times and this one is going to be exactly the same. It has made me even more excited for the next book and everything else this author has to offer.

Joy’s Christmas Escape by P. Creeden, is the first of a series that will be stand alone reads. I thought that the main characters were relatable and easy to understand. It was frustrating that Joy was not able to stand up for herself in the beginning. This is a very faith based read, but not over done. The main characters wholly trust in and rely on God throughout the story. Overall, it’s a very lovely read and comforting, even throughout the drama.

The Men of Eden Cove Manor by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

The Men of Eden Cove ManorThe Men of Eden Cove Manor by Naomi Valkyrie

The Men of Eden Cove Manor is an enticing paranormal romance, set around Halloween. I’ve enjoyed this author’s books in the past – some fantastic LGBT+ paranormal stories – so was excited to read this and it didn’t disappoint!

The story draws heavily on the Gothic which I love! Curious Lucifer sneaking around a supposedly haunted house, stumbling into something he shouldn’t have seen and then being caught up in a dangerous and wonderful world feels classic, but there’s plenty that’s new and unusual about this story as well!

While it’s in many ways a lighthearted paranormal romance, this story also explores grief. Lucifer has recently lost his mother and is trying to honour her by living his life to the fullest. Meanwhile, Mordecai and the others at Eden Cove Manor are still affected and motivated by bereavements they suffered long ago.

If you’ve enjoyed other books by this author, you already know you’re in for a treat! I’d recommend this to fans of Gothic literature and M/M(/M/M/M…) romances. It gets five stars from me!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book 7 in the Hidden Valley Elite Series, Wicked Games exceeded my expectations. After reading the first 6 books in the series, I had high hopes for this one, since it seems to be coming up on the end of the series. Isla Vaughn did not disappoint. Excellent world building and solid, fluid writing, coupled with suspense, drama, and so many twists and turns make the world of Thane University come to life. The same great characters return and are, once again, thrown into some heavy stuff. Shane and Winter not only have a wicked history with one another, but seem destined to be torn apart before truths can be revealed. The cliffhanger at the end of Wicked Games took me by surprise and left me biting my nails until the 8th book is released!

Sweet Vengeance (Mission Belles Book 3) by Pamela Gibson. I have truly loved this series. Its a historical romance and full of all kinds of information about California in the Gold Rush era. Its the story of Elena Santoro who has promised her dying mom that she will find the person responsible for killing her brother. Elena is used to danger but seeking out and killing a man is a different story. Her siblings can’t believe she is going thru with it. Sean is an former spy turned horse trainer and he’s looking for his sister who has disappeared. When he meets Elena and she offers to help him find his sister he’s skeptical. He doesn’t trust easily and he feels something is off about Elena. Elena thinks Sean is the man who destroyed her family but as she gets to know him and has feelings for him can she go thru with the promise she made her mom on her death bed? This author did such a good job I truly felt like I was in California in the middle of the Gold Rush!

Wicked Games (Hidden Valley Elite #7)Wicked Games by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my! This story has so so so much pain and heartache.

Shane doesn’t seem like a troublemaking baddie. But he certainly finds himself in over his head with the police, with Winter, with revenge and with life in general.

Winter seems like a normal college transfer student with a few secrets and a “whoa is me” childhood. And then those terrible secrets are revealed. And the pain for the reader begins!

Once the secrets are out for both Shane and Winter, we can begin to understand their pain.

Sadly, Grandpa didn’t meet his demise in this story. He actually only showed up when needed and had very little to say…maybe next time. He is one character I love to hate.

I love the writing style of this author. We see the main characters’ points of view; each book is focused on one couple but still involves or mentions the couples we love from the previous stories. This cliffhanger will continue in Wicked Ends which sounds a little ominous, so waiting is painful!

Definitely need to read this series, Hidden Valley Elite Series, from the very beginning.

I really didn’t know what I was getting into with this book and I loved it! Even though I have only read this one and didn’t even realize there were SEVEN previous novels in the series I didn’t feel lost or confused at all. I love the different take on vampire culture and mortals being aware of their presence and attempting to live in harmony. I can’t lie the ending was very abrupt and it surprised me. I was all hunkered down to keep reading and then I couldn’t turn the pages anymore. I said out loud “ Oh! It’s over?!?!” Can’t wait to find out the rest of the story!

Seriously adored this book!
Love a good spicy romance especially when it’s about an adult couple. Roman and Olivia finally get to experience their second chance at life with a partner in their early forties. Life as a professional athlete kept him moving, primped, pressed and primed, ready to go when necessary. Never one to settle down he kept his options open. But when his daughter calls asking for a fever he doesn’t give up the chance to do right by her now that she’s older.

Olivia a fashion mogul on the rise has never considered herself to be “ hot”. But boy is she wrong. With her ex husbands marriage invitation on her counter and two young adults for children she puts her brave face on to attend. What she wasn’t expected was Roman; the man of her dreams to come dashing in ready to be her fake date and so much more.

Highly recommend this fast paced burn friends with benefits story.
I cannot wait for book 2.
