Return of the Elf LordReturn of the Elf Lord by Heidi Vanlandingham
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Excellent world building and real relatable characters. I liked the history element mixed with the fantasy. A lot of messages about cause and effect with a clear statement – you can’t change the past. Really fast paced and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened.

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What could go wrong with a one night stand? I am sure Summer was thinking nothing would happen if she allowed herself to just break free and have a moment for herself. She wasn’t expecting Luc. Luc was bound and determined to make Summer his. This book has the twists and turns that you got in the previous books. It has all the steam that you could possibly want and the amazing love that these characters all share. I found this book to be an easy read and I love everything mafia, so that makes it even easier to read. Just when I think I know what is going to happen there is a turn that I didn’t see coming. That kept me more engaged and even gave me a bit of a withdrawal after finishing it. If mafia, action, love, steam, bad a$$ females, alpha males, and HEA’s are your thing you will love this book. Just be prepared to have your heart ripped out and shoved back together by the end. So so so good.

Deacon Saint

My father told me once that anything that gets your blood racing is worth the risk doing. I didn’t factor in that I have to face the tragic loss of my best friend, discover that my mother has Alzheimer and come face to face with a girl who broke my heart all those years ago.

Yet, coming back to my hometown in Tennessee—after being gone for ten years—leaving behind a racing career in the MotoGP world, I’d have to deal with the trials set before me in this small town. I’d rather take on the track, lose skin, break bones, and tear muscle than to make the decision that’ll change my life forever.

Olivia Bane

I thought my life is perfect. Working as a nurse, a boyfriend who’s a doctor, and friends I cherish dearly. Then, the second Deacon Saint comes back home, my ideal life shifts to utter chaos. My boyfriend turns out to be a jerk, I almost lose my job and I’m faced with losing my heart again to the man that broke into the first place.

Deacon shattered me before he left our town and now he thinks it’s water under the bridge and is determined to reclaim my heart. It’s going to take more than sweet talkin’, fast motorcycles, and good old Southern country charm to win me back.

As the Grimm Wolves MC Enforcer, he needs to keep up the persona that has taken years to cultivate. Once they come out to the Grimm Wolves, Chains’ story takes a different path that no one saw coming.

Will the club be able to find Chains? Can he hold on and survive the constant abuse at the hands of unknowns who enjoy making him suffer? Worst of it all, Chains has no idea who they are or what they truly want. As he remembers all the wasted years, and the few and far between moments of true happiness when he let his walls down and just followed his heart, all he can do at this moment is continue to fight to get back to the two who mean the most to him and something he hasn’t done in forever. Grief and healing
This is a slow burn clean romance that deals with tragedy and the fall out that follows. The author handles it realistically and with sensitivity. This book has all the feels. Colt and Evelyn are a mature couple and are very confident within themselves. I enjoyed this book, reading way past my bedtime. It draws you in and doesn’t let go. A worthy read.

This is the 3rd book in the Titans of Manhatten series. I have loved all these books. Each romance is full of passion and obstacles that leaves you wondering if they will work out or not and this one is no exception. Even though it is past of a series they can be read as standalone as each book focuses on one couple. I love the characters. The author has a great way of bringing the characters to life and giving them a back story that is believable and relatable. Everyone goes into new relationships with a history and that history affects you in the new relationship and the author does a great job of showing that.

Rhyann has always dreamed of being a dancer in a ballet school. When her dream finally comes true she moves to New York to pursue her dreams, however things aren’t as good as she imagines and when she finds herself in need of a job her roommate has an idea. Why don’t the work in the club as pole dancers. A good income and its still dancing right? That is where Rhyann meets Mason again.

Mason is one of the Titans. He is wealthy and respected. He doesn’t do relationships prefer to keep his entanglements casual. He runs the club where the girls go for jobs and instantly he recognises Rhyann. She is one women he can’t forget.

What follows is a fast paced story full of emotion and sizzling attraction. The question is will Mason finally be tamed by a woman or will he keep fighting to stop mixing business with pleasure.

This book took me on such an emotional roller coaster ride. Colt has been through more tragedy in his life so far than anyone should ever have to face. Evelyn is someone that he’s been friends with since they were kids and tragedy brings them together once again. There are so many twists and turns in this book. I teared up so many times at the unfairness of it all but the ending was so sweet that it made it worth all of the emotions. This is a book you definitely won’t want to miss but make sure you have a box of tissues nearby.

I admit I have a problem with this book and series!!! It has given me a new addiction! I am hooked on every little detail and just can’t get enough! Yes, you might have guessed by now- that I absolutely love this series!!!
Ruthless Heir is the fifth exciting instalment the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. This is a riveting enemies to lovers mafia romance- with romantic suspense; an action-packed plot, intrigue, unexpected developments, mafia politics, intensity, palpable tension, sizzling chemistry, steamy encounters, emotion, danger, violence, secrets, lies, and so much more…
Here we get his is Luc and Summer’s story- and WOW, Ms. McKinley certainly didn’t hold back with this story, keeping me on edge and completely invested in the characters and the story, right from the very beginning. I didn’t come up for air until I had devoured every word. I loved all the interconnected details and intriguing threads that Ms. McKinley is weaving through her stories, and series. It makes for riveting reading. I am completely addicted, and I can’t wait for my next fix!!!
Seriously, if you love mafia romance, and/or romantic suspense, then you definitely won’t want to miss this exciting story/series!!!

You’ve heard it said that money can’t buy (fill-in-the-blank). Well, in the case of Colt, that’s definitely true. He’s loaded with money…has more than he knows what to do with, but it won’t stop the tragedies from occurring in his life.

I don’t feel like I can give anymore details about this book other than the description provided because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. However, this is your warning: You’ll need a box of tissues handy. This story is riveting and tragic, yet full of so much love!!

I don’t have a super high opinion of Colt. He’s very selfish and greedy. I like Evelyn but there’s something about her that I can’t wrap my head around. Not sure what it is but she’s a very likeable person. I’m curious to know more about her background though.

This is another new-to-me author that I will reading again! I do recommend this book! It’s a fairly clean, wholesome romance story.

Wow…..I continue to love and be all in on this series and this book does NOT disappoint!!!

I love the chemistry between Luc and Summer in this book. I love a strong female character and Summer’s character was totally fantastic! Summer is on the run, trying to escape her roommate’s boyfriend, Ben. Summer ends up fleeing to Chicago, and ends up meeting up with Luc for a night of fun. Luc, whom is a very successful businessman but finds out he is the head of the Brambilla mafia family. Little did Summer know that who her new boss is at her job…ends up being Luc. There are plenty of twist and turns in this story along with secrets and danger. Will Luc protect Summer from what is to come? Definitely read and find out!!

I am so looking forward to the next book in this series!!!

This was a great read! The writing was fantastic and I was easily drawn into the story. There was vivid imagery and I felt like I was right there in the story with the characters. I do have one complaint though. While this book is 1 of 1, it felt like a sequel. The way the book started, it felt more like a continuation of a series, and I didn’t connect with the characters. It took me several chapters to do so. So while I enjoyed this book, it took me awhile to feel that connection. I think that if the author were to write a prequel it would work a lot better. All in all I really enjoyed reading this book and I would definitely read more from this author in the future!

When her sister’s lives are in danger she has no choice but to face the vampire that sets her nerves ablaze and beg for his help. Can she trust Sam to help her? Or is her family right about vampires?

I loved this book as much if not more then the others in the series. Summer and Luc meet one night in a bar and end up having an amazing night together. Summer is trying to drown her sorrows away and Luc was able to get her mind off of her bad luck she has. Ben is looking for her and her life is literally on the line. The company she is currently temping at is under a hostile takeover. When she gets to work the next day. She is late. Her picture is in the paper, the new owner of the company is someone she least expects and he’s blaming her for being a spy. Can her luck get any worse? Now she is being held captive by her new boss because he thinks she wiped all his accounts dry.
This book is filled with the 5 families from recent books so we know most of the characters already. I love the women who are just as bad and tough as their husbands. They seem like great friends to have watching your back.
Absolutely loved this book. Keep them coming!

Claiming My Mate by Nicole Howl Book 1

This Werewolf Fiction Romance starts with a young women named Lily who has known nothing but slavery, she is naturally timid, quiet, selfless and loyal. Lily serves the Wolf Hollow Pack and is treated horribly by the guards, pack and King but through it all she finds her mate.

First few chapters is just building her character, getting to know her personality and laying down the foundation of the storyline, little did I know there would be so many twists and turns.

Lily finds herself in a bad situation with one of the guards that leaves her, broken, scarred and violated. Luckily a member of the pack finds her in her panic and brings her to the royal hospital where she awaits questioning from the not so understanding King and merciful Queen.

From there fate intertwines and her mate is revealed…. Or so we think.

This book is romantic, dark and actually quite witty, I love how much Lily’s character grew in such a short time.
I did not expect the ending at all! quite a cliffhanger, I can not wait for book two come out and read more about these two main characters and how they grow together as mates.

Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite, #5)Ruthless Heir: An Enemies to Lovers Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ruthless Heir is an edition of the Mafia Elite that revolves around Luc. Luc is a successful business man that came from nothing with a troubled background. Luc absorbed a new business in California and when he meets part of his staff, he recognizes the assistant, the one night stand from the night before. Summer, the assistant, is surprised to find that her fling from the night before is her new boss, but even more surprised when he misinterprets a conversation and accuses her of stealing his money. Summer ran from the accusation due to a shady past dealing with the New York mafia; she has been on the run from them for about 6 months. After Luc catches her trying to escape his office, they are interrupted by a Chicago mafia boss, Max. Summer panics because she thinks he is there for her, however, Luc is unaware that Max is there because he is an heir to the Brambilla mafia family. Both are instructed to go with Max to Chicago. The rocky start Luc and Summer have quickly turns into something deeper, just in the knick of time too since the New York mafia family has found her in Chicago.

I am just so in love with this series. Just like all the others, the author writes in a way that you are never bored, each chapter brings meaning, and you quickly flow through the story and never want to put the book down. While these may not be my favorite of all the characters throughout the books, they still were presented where you couldn’t help but fall in love with them. Summer is a girl who has worked her whole life just to have a little bit of anything. Her upbringing provided her with an attitude of work hard for what you want and take the opportunities presented to you. While she is kind, she also won’t take crap from anyone, including Luc. Luc is that character that you want to slap, but you know his heart is in the right place. I do love his commitment and possessiveness to keeping Summer safe though. I will always be willing to read a book in this series!!

Evelyn is a long-time friend who has gone through a lot of the same heartbreak with Colt but where will this take them in the end?
Edith MacKenzie is a new author to me but wow does she have a way to make you feel you are right there with the characters and makes you feel those same feelings. Book hangover in the works.

I loved it! I hated the cliffhanger, I don’t want to wait! I’ve always had a thing for vampires. This type of vampire novel is not usually my thing but I gave it a shot. I’m so glad I did.
The Hunter fell for the one that was being hunted.
Sam Mason, a vampire navy seal, has his stake out interrupted by 3 human women. Well little does he know those 3 women are from a well known vampire hunter family. Who do they want, none other than him?!?
Layla had no idea what she was getting her and her sisters into when she took the job. They needed money and this was the fastest way to get it. Trying to take Sam Mason hostage doesn’t go as planned. It also changes their lives.
Get ready for a roller coaster of feelings between these two. Besides the domino effect the failed mission on both accounts leads too.
I can’t wait till book 2 is released!

Definitely a slow start to the book, but turned out to be a great story in the end! The book was definitely not what I expected, but I really enjoyed the writers twist on history. As a huge history nerd and mythology nerd, I really loved how she incorporates both into the story, to me it reminded me a lot of the Wonder Woman movies but also was in a league of its own. The author has a great attention to detail, plus I loved the work they put into developing all of the characters. I definitely hope to read more of their work in the future!

I seriously can never get enough from this author or this series in general! Each book they have written I am Truly captivated and hooked. Each book in this series brings secrets and darkness of the character’s own to light, and I am hooked and mesmerized! It takes a skilled author to truly to achieve that again and again!

I love how each one of these books in the series that brings on two characters that are placed together due to unforeseen circumstances. I loved Luc and Summer so freaking much. They had that chemistry that you only dream about. Their ties together seemed like it was just random, but behind every thing that happens with this Mafia in Chicago, there are secrets or skeletons in the closet that always come to light…whether you like it or not. Summer quickly became a fan favorite for me. her intuition was always spot on, and how she saw the world compared to the females in other books was different and enlightening. I learned so much from the way she sees. The moments she and Luc spent together were amazing, the suspense was to die for as well. I freaking loved this one! Loved it so freaking much!

If you have not had the pleasure of reading this amazing author, I must say read books by them as of right this moment! If you have not read other books in this Mafia series, it is best to read from the 1st one to truly understand and get wrapped up in the affairs of the Mafia. This book alone is a must read, it was perfect in every which way, and I highly do recommend it! It is a must read! I am dead serious about that!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow I really loved this book. It has everything I love sexy vampires, hot attraction, and danger around every bend and twist. The author does and amazing job of infusing all these elements and still keeping the story unique.
The story is definately about opposites attracting with Sam who is a vampire and Layla who is a vampire hunter. Their attraction to each other is instant and very hard to deny. But things aren’t just complicated by this fact.
Layla has been hired to kidnap Sam but she’s not sure who she had been hired by. When the kidnap attempt goes wrong and both Layla’s sisters get caught, 1 by Sam the other by Sam’s enemy.
The only person Layla can turn to for assistance is the one person she doesn’t know if she should trust. Sam.
Can they work together to get rid of the threat towards Sam and save Layla’s sisters? Or will their attraction mean they both get burnt and lose it all by giving into their passion.

Clark has always held her heart and she’s never forgotten him and he has never been able to let her go from his thoughts either. Tragedy brings them back together and the second he lays eyes on her he vows never to leave her side again, but of course it won’t be as easy as either hopes. They have a second chance to have the love of a lifetime but neither one of them may live long enough to finally enjoy true happiness. They face so much betrayal and there is so much danger but also a lot of romance and true love. I shed more than a few tears reading this book and I absolutely cannot wait to read the next book in this duet.
