A fast paced, enemies-to-lovers, romance. Full of twists and turns and a surprise who-done-it, even I didn’t guess this one correctly like the last book. This one will definitely have you turning pages and devouring every word from start to finish. I cannot get enough of this series. Can be read as a stand-alone.

Wicked Ends: A Dark College Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Series, Book 8 ) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Ashley Lape

Wicked Ends (Hidden Valley Elite #8)Wicked Ends by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG! All I can say is that the entire series is amazing! This is book 8 and just like the rest, this one did not disappoint! This book is the continuation of Shane and Winters’s story and also the end of the series. Shane Bennett lied to Winter. How could she not recognize him? When Shane accidentally drops his wallet in her dorm Winter finally realizes Shane’s true identity. But it is too late! Someone has kidnapped Winter and brought her to the one place that keeps her nightmares fresh in her mind. Although these two have a pretty troubling past that should keep them apart, it is exactly the thing that helps push them together. When Winter gets a surprise visit from one of her professors Winter learns the disturbing truth about her sister’s murder. This book is not only a sweet romance but a thriller. It was a page-turner from the first book in the series. I am sad to come to the end of the Hidden Valley Elite Series but can’t wait to see what else this author comes out with.

I love a good romance, especially one with an age gap. When I read the preview, I was hooked! I could not put this book down! I was consumed with the story line between Naseer and Jade. They both complement each other very well and their story was one that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I cannot wait to read more books by this author!!

Oh my gosh! What an ending! Not only was Wicked Ends the conclusion to Shane and Winter’s story, but the entire Hidden Valley Elite Series. What a bittersweet moment reading the last few pages of this one. Isla Vaughn draws the reader in with superb world building; I could feel what the characters were feeling, I could see the world around them, and I connected with the characters. There is so much drama, suspense, passion, hate, and love in this book and it kept me on my toes! To say I was invested in not only this book, but the entire series, would be a supreme understatement. I was so worried and anxious for Winter not only being kidnapped, but dealing with the events of her past. There was so much growth in this whole series, and I love it! The Elite boys learn, grow, and become men and it is so wholesome and satisfying. Despite all the struggles throughout the books, this series ends in happiness! I can’t wait to see what Isla Vaughn delivers after this!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Naseer and Jade meet by chance at a time in their lives when they really need each other. Naseer was in a bad motorcycle accident and Jade had just lost both of her parents. There is a pretty large age gap between these two. As they spend more time together there is no denying the chemistry. Their relationship is very up and down and after a few years they decide to make a go at being romantically involved. There are people working against their relationship and it’s making it that much more difficult. This story follows as they both grow older and mature. You don’t get to find out the outcome because you get left on a bit of a cliffhanger. There are a couple of twists and turns and they definitely have some obstacles to overcome. I enjoyed reading this story. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Wicked Ends: A Dark College Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Book 8)

I know i have said this after every book in this series and it needs to be said again I am absolutely in love with this book and series. I hate to see it end, but their group goes out with a bang.

Winter and Shane’s story continues, in this part 2 of their story. And I don’t know where to begin since somuch happens and so many of my questions are answered about the past that I don’t know if it could have ended any other way. One of my favorite scenes came close to the end, won’t elaborate since it is an important part of the story, or at least I think so.

I loved watching everyone, especially the boys mature and grow. There were times throughout the book and series that I forgot they were high school/college age kids.

I’m looking forward to reading future books and series by Ms. Vaughn. I have a feeling I will love them as much as I have loved this one.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A King so Savage by April Moran is the first book in a Duet. This is April Moran’s debut into the Dark Mafia Romance world and it did not disappoint. Check your trigger warnings before reading as some themes may be uncomfortable for some readers. Also, if you are into it there is a playlist that goes along with the book that can be found linked in the beginning pages of the book. This story follows Kingston Winter and Ava Bella Blue. Kingston takes Ava captive because of a large debt owed to him by her brother. This beautifully written story will leave you with all the emotions. You will be frustrated and angry, as well as hooked and surprised. These characters are flawed and well written. Making this story enthralling and spicy. 4 out of 5 Stars.

The Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Jennifer Gordon

The Alien & the Crime BossThe Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging MM Sci-fi mafia romance which kept me hooked throughout. When Kasper Kingston comes across a man claiming to be from another planet, he thinks it’s a cover story. Kasper is hiding out having set in motion a plan to weaken two major crime families. He believes Leilphun has been sent to kill him and so keeps him prisoner. When he saves his life Kasper starts to think that maybe he is an alien. Meanwhile, Leilphun has left his home planet having runaway from the authorities to avoid having to fight in the fighting arena, as a punishment. To save the human, Leilphun has to call upon his warrior spirit which he has sworn never to do in case he loses himself to his primal nature. To confuse things further Leilphun believes Kasper has initiated the betrothal ritual and Kasper is getting distracted by his otherworldly hero. I loved the two main characters and their chemistry sizzled off the page. As usual the author brought both the characters and setting vividly to life making me feel immersed in the story.

The Alien & the Crime BossThe Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is really, really good. I am not a sci-fi can at all but this has romance which is my go to genre, so I figured I would give it a go. This is also an author that I have read before and loved their writing style. Lets start by saying this is a more of a sci-fi book with MM romance than a romance with sci-fi. The way the author writes and describes the scenes is amazing. It helped me really be able to visualize what was happening and I got lost in. this unique world that was created. I will be the first to admit that I was really thinking I wasn’t going to like this book because of the sci-fi elements. That was not the cause, I feel the sci-fi really took the story in a creative direction that I would have never thought of and really made the story come to life. The imagery that you are able to create based upon the writing allows for this book to be a quick read. I found myself flying through the pages and when the books ends, it feels like it was supposed to end the way that it did. I didn’t feel like it was lacking anything and it felt whole. There are areas that this could continue if the author wants to but it also is summed up nicely to where you as a reader feel content with how things worked out. This was a great escape. that I didn’t see coming but thoroughly enjoyed.

4.5 Stars

The Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie is a really well-woven sci-fi MM mafia romance – with aliens, action, adventure, danger, high stakes, suspense, agendas, fated mates, emotion, tension, and much more.
Leilphun escapes his home world and arrives on earth and into a situation he never anticipated. Kasper Kingston has a plan and can’t afford any distractions or mistakes- but fate has its own agenda.
I loved this story so much. Loved the characters, the world-building, and other clever touches, and although this is a short story, it has the impact of a much longer novel. Definitely one of my favourites of this collection. Can always count on Ms. Valkyrie for an original and captivating read.
Can’t wait to see what Ms. Valkyrie has in store for us next.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Naomi Valkyrie!

I’m such a fan of this author. The creativeness of her stories really knows no bounds. Like who would have ever thought a crime boss and alien crossover would be so good? It’s exciting, hot, and a page turner. there’s plenty of action and the only complaint I’d have is that it wasn’t longer. It’s definitely a great read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kingston prides himself on making those that defy him pay….and when Ava’s brother owes him money, he takes her as collateral. However, this has been in the making for years and his obsession with Ava makes this captor/captive situation anything but normal. It follows the same flow that numerous dark romances in this genre…but it was still an interesting read. The way the book ends leaves you with a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more.

Ava is a strong character, while Kingston is a hard character to like. He is definitely the villain in the story and wears the title proudly. I found myself turning the pages and time passing without noticing. I will definitely be checking out the next book as soon as I can.

I love every book that I have read by this author and this one is no exception! The storytelling and creativity that is brought to life…..I loved every page of Kasper and Leilphun’s story in The Alien & the Crime Boss.

Kasper is out to take over as a crime boss, planning out every detail with intricate thought. Taking retreat at his cabin, Kasper never expects to find Leilphun by chance. At first, Kasper was cautious unknowing where this man came from and why he is so different. As Kasper gets to know Leilphun the more Kasper feels safe knowing that Leilphun has his back….and maybe more..but will he be able to still take over as crime boss as well..

Leilphun is on the run from another planet….ends up on Earth. Unknowing where he was… Leilphun meets Kasper by chance. As Leilphun wants to get to know Kasper on a deeper level… will he also be able to help and protect Kasper when danger comes knocking….

I loved this book and I do not want to give any spoilers away. This is a fun, enjoyable MM mafia / alien story and I always look forward to what this author has in store next to read!

I am so in love with mm romance and this story really interested me. The concept of Leilphun being a “warrior” and he kind of grows into this being to help defend and protect Kasper. I love the attachment Kasper forms for Leilphun and the drama that unfolds while Kasper tries to merge the two empires.

A Christmas Amish Courtship
By: Jennifer Spredemann

This is a fantastic sweet, clean romance. It is the third book in the Amish Courtship series, but the first that I have read. It definitely functions as a standalone. However, I will now be reading the previous two books because I enjoyed this one so very much. It is a second chance romance abut Anne and Andy. They both have had their hearts broken and are nervous to explore something new. However Andy takes a chance and writes to Anne, without disclosing who he is. This added a fantastic extra element to the story in which the reader is anxiously awaiting for Anne to find out who is writing her the letters. The romance builds throughout the story and the addition of the secret admirer really kept me wanting to read. I definitely encourage reading this wonderful, clean romance.

Each and every book in the Hidden Valley Elite Series has been better than the last. The series finale is absolutely no different, it was the absolute best that I read and I hate that it was the last in the series. I have grown to love this series and really don’t want that to end. This story also wraps up the story of Winter and Shane. Their story is so complicated and filled with twists and turns. I really do not want to reveal much, other than to say that this is the most fantastic book in the series by far. I definitely am sad to see it end, but I will be sending more and more readers to it. Kasper is a crime boss set on taking down and then merging the two crime families as one with him as leader. He goes to stay at a cabin for a bit to hide out until things cool down. When a strange man who is purple with chartreuse eyes shows up, Kasper has no idea if he was sent by the families or if he is the alien he claims to be. Aliens aren’t real are they? Clearly this man was sent to be a distraction. Kasper ties him up and decides to keep a close eye on him until he can decide if he is sent to kill him or not.

Leilphun was about to be sent into the arena’s as punishment on his home planet and decides to escape to Earth only to find himself bound by an attractive human named Kasper. Somehow Kasper accidentally betrothed himself to Leilphun and Leilphun decides that he will protect this human. When Kasper’s enemies come to eliminate him, Leilphun is quick to defend Kasper.

Kasper decides that Leilphun is not a threat and decides to go with the flow when it comes to the betrothal. He can’t have any distractions when it comes to his ultimate goal. Too bad he all of a sudden has an alien fiance.

I have said this before and I will say it again. I love Naomi Valkyrie! Their writing is so unique that I love everything they have written. The author always provides a unique plot with unheard of character romance that you can’t help but fall in love with everything written. The book is a very quick read but is packed full of action. Jade: Hidden Scars: A Forbidden Age-Gap Romance (Book 1) by A. Akinosho – Review by Kerry Carr

Hidden Scars (Jade #1)Hidden Scars by A. Akinosho
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Jade series. And wow what a read. This book has so many elements that I love in a romance. It had a strong alpha male, attraction that is off the charts, 2 Wounded souls desperately trying to heal, there is a bit of a forbidden element as well as Naseer is from a wealthy background and Jade is from the opposite but they work so well together.
This is Jade and Naseers story.
Naseer is a rich and popular alpha male, he has the world at his feet, he could date any woman he wanted and his life was on a upward track that is until a accident left him trapped in a bed. His life was spiraling out of control and he was contemplating not wanting to be here anymore that is until he meets Jade.

Jade is going through a traumatic time at the moment. With the loss of her parents she is struggling to find her way in her new life and new school. Struggling with grief and finding a way to work through it the last thing she wanted or expected was to find love and especially not with someone who is as horrible, moody and self centered as Naseer is.

These two people are just 2 broken souls each dealing with their own traumas and the effects that is having in their life’s but what is so beautiful is how much more peace they feel when they are together.
This is a beautiful moving story filled with ups and downs, highs and lows as they both come to terms with their new lives and what it actually means for them. With all the odds stacked against them do they even stand a chance?
I can’t wait to see how this series will progress and how the the relationship between Naseer and Jade changes and develops.

I love a good mafia character, so was looking forward to reading this.
I thought this was an original concept and I was invested beginning to end. I enjoyed the story running in the background as well, not just the romance blossoming between Leilphun and Kasper, it added more depth and complexity to the story and was another point of interest. It’s now one of my favourites this genre.
I enjoyed experiencing Leilphun and Kasper coming together, learning each other’s mannerisms and coming into their own. I especially loved Leilphun’s character development, it was great to see him really come into his own as a warrior in his desire to defend and protect Kasper.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Naomi is definately a favourite author of mine and I have read lots of her work. What I particularly loved about this story is the fact that I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out. This is a M/M romance and there was danger from the beginning from the crime bosses fighting for control, and also the danger of Leilphun being in a world that for an alien being could be really unsafe if he gets with the wrong people. For a time i was concerned that Kasper was just going to use Leilphun for his abilities and help further his fight to take over the criminal underworld. But as the story progressed it was easy to see that there was more between them, especially with how Leilphun channelled his warrior to protect Kasper.
I don’t want to give too much away but it is a story that gripped me from the beginning and didn’t let go.

It is another great captivating read from one of my favourite authors. I have never read a book that I haven’t enjoyed.
