Zoe and Archer, are they who we think they are? The Dark Sparrows seem to be all full of secrets. Zoe seems to have left another life behind. Finch ends up kidnapping her. Can she and Archer work out the issues and get out of this mess? Can their love survive? This is one tough couple that I enjoyed watching get through the challenges life threw at them. They just blasted through them. Definitely a recommend.

Izzy and Kai have a history and secrets. There is also the dastardly evilness, Finch. You know you have a good book when you can picture yourself in the story. That is what this book did for me and finding out it was the fourth in the series was surprising. I did not read the first three but still was able to follow along. The characters of Will and Jessica are so relatable and the highs and lows of deciding on a relationship or protecting the heart are I’m sure decisions we’ve all made at one time or another. There was just enough romance coupled with the suspense that kept me turning the pages through to the end. Always wanting to find out what happened next. Will and Jessica are amid finally following their hearts when trouble comes calling. In the form of letters and pictures demanding money or there would be consequences. At first the letters are ignored as maybe it is just someone intimidating them but as the terrorizing escalates Will must seek refuge with the very person he’s trying to protect. Can Will protect Jessica from some unsavory characters? Will Jessica get the bed and breakfast finished in her own design or will her wandering travel thoughts carry her elsewhere? Can they move on from past hurt or will it tear Will and Jessica apart? You’ll have to read this book to find out what happens next. As for me I am going to read the other novels to see what happened to the other characters that appear in this story.

Liam, a cop shot on duty, and Catronia, a forensic financial expert, will be going through Finch’s financial records. Gab mentioned that Catronia was a sister (but not really one yet). Talk about complicated. This is a relationship full of challenges, flirting and inuendo. Toss in Finch and the brothers and it’s ripe for another fun chapter in the Dark Sparrow series. Great plot that keeps you reading for more. Well written characters that have such real personalities that jump right off the page. You should give this a try.

Bad Man on Campus, the third book in the Big Men on Campus series by Stephanie Queen is a second chance romance you don’t want to miss. Kace and Glory were high school sweethearts before a tragic event made them lose touch. Years later, they meet back up in college and let the emotional rollercoaster begin. Trust me you will feel every emotion and your heart will break for these two. I’m not a huge new adult/college romance reader, but this story left an impression on me.

This was a great read. The word dark is right there in the title, and it certainly fills the inside of the story. Mental health issues, trauma, emotional exhaustion.. it’s all here. The book starts heavy, with Sam coming to the unfortunate conclusion that he’s reached the end of his rope. He doesn’t see a way to keep going, and doesn’t want to be the “weak link”. By chance he calls the wrong number, and that was all the reason he needed to keep going. Even if he thought it was only temporary, to help Ellie.
Ellie was wrung dry from life, her job. Her soul was weary and dark, much like Sam’s. Them finding each other was a blessing and a curse. A curse because of Sam’s awful Father. This book was heavy, but by the ending there was light and I finished with a smile.

Jody is taking the night off just to let loose and enjoy herself, yes, she has a couple of bodyguards with her, her hair is straightened, her contacts are in and she is dressed in her sisters clothing, but her sister she is not, as she down shot after shot, she loosens up and sings and dances the night away, until someone starts to dance with her. Holt and his friends are in the last bar of the night when he spots a beautiful and sexy woman singing and dancing on the bar, he has no idea who she is, but his friends do. He is so taken with her that he cannot resist trying his luck and approaching her while she dances and this one action starts a chain reaction of passion which neither of them were expecting.
In her shock at what she has done, Jody rushes out of the bar. back to her friends and complains she isn’t feeling well, so they head back to the hotel, but life goes on and the next afternoon amid a hangover from hell, Jody has to marshal her sister around to make sure she gets where she needs to be and at the right time, meanwhile, Holt has woken up not being able to stop thinking about the mystery woman at the bar the night before, to the point that he does everything he can to run into her again, however, when he does, he realises that she isn’t the person he thought, it turns out that it is someone in her entourage instead. At this point it makes it his mission to try and work out the mystery behind the woman and Jody is the woman he is intending on trying to figure out, but will she let him in, or will her sister do her usual thing and put a stop to whatever this could be before it can even start? This is a romance where two people meet and the connection is undeniable, but as external forces engage in the story, the ending is something you will be racing through the book to find.

Ahh my heart!! I LOVED this book!! This was such an ignore my surroundings and have to read it ALL type of story in one sitting for me. The Heart of Baker’s Bay was such a refreshing story and a first read for me from this author! This story swallowed me up heart and soul! I have to say I have no idea what I was expecting when I started this book. I wanted a little romance mixed with an interesting story, I’m a avid romantic type of reader and I’m sick of the same story line where you can tell where it’s going. But this book I was like “ omg I can’t wait to see what happens” I took a trip to Disneyland while reading this and I actually prayed for long lines so I could finish a chapter! The story was so well written and little sprinkles of traditional romance novel themes, danger and mystery was perfect, I would highly recommend!

This book was fantastic. It grabbed my heart from the very beginning. I could really relate to Jody and what she was experiencing by her family, although I had not been fired from many jobs like she was. Jody feels like a screw up and is scared out of wits to take on the Botanical Tearoom café when her grandmother has an injury. This was a heartwarming story and did not disappoint in any way. Danielle Jacks has done it again. Excellent.

Confessions Of A Sophomore Prankster is the 6th book in the Frat House Confessions series by Danielle Jacks. Each book can be read as a standalone. I had not read any of the previous books in the series and didn’t feel that I was missing anything. I have read other books by the author and have enjoyed them. Brandon Setter is at college to enjoy the party lifestyle and create pranks. Casey Nelson is the polar opposite. She is most likely to be found in the library. When Casey helps him evade being caught with one of his pranks, he’s drawn to her and doesn’t understand why. When her father, his football coach asks him to watch out for her it gives him the excuse to spend more time with the lovely Casey. I loved reading Setter and Casey’s story. They couldn’t be any more different if they tried. Well, they do say that opposites attract. This is a very entertaining story. Setter’s pranks alone could fill a book. Add this to their budding friendship and Setter’s family controlling his life makes for a very enjoyable read. I was pulled into the story from the very start and remained interested and entertained until the very end. A very enjoyable read.

Oh, silly me! This genre is my cup of tea, I have been obsessed with Dystopian novels/films/adaptations for as long as I can remember. I have read several of my favorites over and over, throughout my childhood, teen years, and again as an adult. I tackled this installment in the Antipodes series, on a whim, deciding to read the series backwards, as that seemed like a brilliant way to have my dessert before dinner.
Let me tell you, this novel has me wishing that I had normal ideas, and had read the first three books first, and trust me, I will be doing so over the next couple weeks. This novel had everything you could possibly want from this genre, and I cannot put into words how enthralled I was. From the first chapter, I was brought into this new world, introduced to Freyja and Cam, that have clearly had a tremendous amount of character building and history put into them. I was overwhelmed by my ability to transport into their world, and without the information from the previous installments, couldn’t stop reading. The action, romance, trials and tribulations that the characters go through is astounding. I love a good strong female lead and was not disappointed. I am sorry that I don’t have more to say on this book, as it’s made its way to the top of my list for a re-read once I have completed the rest of the series. I will be editing my review once I’ve had the pleasure of doing so.

Bittersweep by Wareeze Woodson. I really enjoyed this book. Its a historical romance about a young woman named Elizabeth Clarke who has returned to Bittersweep, Texas after being run out of town as a small child. Apparently the Clarke family was the first family in town to contract yellow fever and some men burned their house down with her deceased mom inside. Returning under an assumed name Elizabeth Campbell she becomes the new teacher in town. She is determined to find out who burned her home down and why they were made to leave. When she arrives back in town she meets the chairman of the school board and soon falls in love with him only to discover that all the single women in town are also after him. When she first meets JP Honeycutt something about him seems vry familiar but she can’t put her finger on it other than she knows not to trust that name? Will Elizabeth be able to uncover the secrets she wants to know answers to? Will she and JP make a go of their relationship? Read Bittersweep to find out!
Confronting and real This is a second chance romance novel and the third in a series. It does not run along the same lines as other second chance novels I have read. It has a raw edge to it as Glory faces the demons of her past and Kace tries to stand by her side. The author has interwoven a very confronting issue throughout the story extremely well and I was vested from start to finish. A brilliant addition to the series.

This book is an easy read ,and a lot of fun. Sheldon and Simone were amazing characters. The light hearted banter and everything leading up to them finally being together we’re timed perfectly. Simone was very closed off, and she clearly wasn’t seeking love or a relationship. Sheldon was exact opposite looking for love, but apparently in all the wrong places. Watching Sheldon and Simone come together was beautiful, and fun. Plus I’m a big fan of animals and rescues and bringing those into a book always factor a wonderful outcome.I can say I had a lot of popcorn and cookies reading this novel

Intriguing, intense and entertaining I have loved every book in this series. Each book just gets better and better and takes the reader on a wonderful journey of discovery in a world that could one day exist. Told from Freya’s POV, this story continues on from book 3 – concentrating on the establishment of family. The story is so well written that I feel the emotions so strongly – fear, hope, sadness and excitement. T.S. Simons you have done it again. An enthralling addition to a magnificent series.

Snowflakes and Holly: A Small Town Christmas Romance (A Hartwood Holiday Romance) by Jae Dawson is your usual sweet small town contemporary romance. Where he loves to live life to its fullest and on the edge and she just plods along keeping to the safe zone. It is a story of opposites attract. But is this enough for a lasting romance? With a little drama and angst, humour and wittiness, it was nice to snuggle up with a hot chocolate, under a blanket with the heater on and escape from reality for a few hours.
Stumped: Love Behind the Wickets is the second book in the To Love a Sportsman series by Pamela Q. Fernandes. This is a sweet contemporary second chances sports romance- with past history, drama, obstacles, interfering ex, family tension, hurts, misunderstandings, and romance. I appreciate how every book I have read of Ms. Fernandes has its own unique theme and identity- this time she brings us a sports romance set in the world of English cricket. We follow Claude and Delilah as fate brings these two together again after years apart. But with a past history full of hurt, family issues, and other obstacles- will their love be strong enough to survive? Looking forward to Book #3- ‘Goalstruck’…

A Cold Day in Hell by Naomi Valkyrie is the fifth book in the Life Is Hell series. I have read all of the books in the series. Each one can stand alone but you will want to read them all in order to learn about the characters. Ms Valkyrie’s books centers on two characters that make up the ragtag family in Juniper Lake. There are so many paranormal beings in the story you won’t want to miss learning about who they are and why they consider each other family. Book 5 centers on the two loners of the family – Hadassah and Jezebel. Their story starts out with them being unsure of each other. Their friendship soon develops when Jezebel feels the need to run away from the safety of Juniper Lake to save the rest of the family. Hadassah knows she can’t let Jezebel go alone and tags along. The Life is Hell series is one of my all time favorites. I cannot wait to read the next book.

Unlikely in Love (A Parker Lake Novel Book 1) by Olivia Sherwood is the first book I have read by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. I loved the characters in this book, they were written so well that I felt like they were old friends instead of characters I was starting to get to know. I especially liked the names Sophia gave her farm animals, absolutely hilarious. The interactions between Annabelle and Wyatt are both funny and touching. Annabelle has just inherited a farm from her grandmother who recently passed away. Only problem is she has absolutely no idea how to run it. Thankfully for her Wyatt has just returned from his third tour and is willing to help her out. In the past these two seemed to pass each other like ships in the night but now? Now it looks like they might just have a second chance at a lasting love. This book had me laughing, crying, and at some points actually yelling at the characters. This author certainly knows have to paint a picture with her words and I definitely have to give that picture a five star rating. Thank you for the start of what looks like an amazing series. I look forward to the next entry in the series.

I may never judge a book by it’s cover but I will definitely choose to read one based on it. That is one of the things that drew me to Danielle Jacks’ book, The Heart of Baker Bay. Danielle Jacks is a new to me author with a knack for catching the reader’s attention. Or at least mine, I’m still stuck on her other book’s title, Dirty Kisses and Conflicting Wishes. What really captured my attention during this story was the characters. Each one felt realistic and authentic and really gave the story depth, especially Jody. Despite her insecurities and flaws, Jody was a “real” character, someone you see your friends or maybe even yourself in. Overall, the Heart of Baker Bay was a cute romantic read with the importance of family woven on. 4 out of 5 stars from me.

I absolutely love this series and book 4 is no exception! Cam and Freja have said that they wouldn’t leave Lewis again, but some troubling news sends them off on another mission to discover answers. The characters development throughout this series is excellent and Cam and Freja are both very believable and relatable characters. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book to come out!! I highly recommend this series to everyone who loves dystopian novels.

I love a good RomCom and this book was a fun read. I love how Sheldon and Simone meet and their attraction but yet they try and keep it cool. Simone is fierce, no nonsense while Sheldon, whom is a veterinarian, is about one night stands and creating miniatures (you definitely have to read the book to understand). I enjoyed the back story as far as being Sheldon and Simone being involved in Freedom Roar rescue, which is big cat rescue. Will Simone and Sheldon find love while working at the rescue? This is definitely a great RomCom with definitely some laugh out loud moments and lots of smiles.

Caim is the fourth book in the Antipodes series by T.S. Simons. I highly recommend reading the previous books. There is information about all the characters from book to book. Overall the books are well written and kept me on the edge of my seat. In this book in particular I feel like there were major twists and turns throughout the story. The characters in this book are my favorite in the series. The way that they interact with each other is amazing. They do go on a roller coaster ride adventure. This is Cam and Freyja’s adventure. They thought they had made it safely to another world, but they were wrong. Some old friends show up and tell Cam and Freyja some news will fall victim to the past? I highly recommend this book as it is a great book in an outstanding series.

This book was stunning. Without knowing it was the fifth in the series – I jumped right in to this fantasy (with the information I have now, I’ll be starting from the top!) but still this book was nonetheless stunning. From the dual perspective plot line to the Angel “banned” to earth. Both Jezebel and Hadassah were so strong and easily relate-able. I’ll be back with a more in depth review when I can connect all of the dots. I loved the writing style as well!

Once again, I really enjoyed this historical romance by Wareeze Woodson. I happen to be a huge fan of historical romance, but if you aren’t, there is a nice amount of mystery and who done it to keep the reader involved. The book takes place in 1897 in Bittersweep, Texas. Elizabeth Clarke has returned to the town where her mother died under the false name of Campbell. She never plans on meeting and falling in love with JP Honeycutt. I loved trying to figure out who was involved in the bank robbery. The book keeps you guessing on all of the details until the very end. This one is worth every minute of your time!

A Cold Day In Hell is book five in the ‘Life Is Hell’ series by Naomi Valkyrie and having read and enjoyed the previous four books I was looking forward to reading this latest novel and as usual I was not disappointed. This is a F/F paranormal romance which had me hooked from start to finish. I feel that these books are best enjoyed in order as the characters do crossover as do the storylines. This novel centres around exiled angel, Hadassah Engel (Haddie) who as punishment for sharing her powers with her brother, Malakhi, so that he could save a demon, has been exiled from Heaven and sent to Earth. Haddie is counting down the days until she can return to paradise and is keeping herself out of trouble and out of her brother’s family affairs. However when Jezebel’s past puts her in danger and Mal asks her to go on the run with her to keep her safe she can’t say no.
Having been pushed together in dangerous circumstances Haddie and shy dog shifter Jezebel discover that spending time together might not be that awful after all, but even if Jezebel teaches Haddie how to love she may not be willing to sacrifice her life in paradise. I love the characters in this series and Haddie and Jezebel were such likeable characters and I loved how their relationship developed throughout the story. As usual I felt completely immersed in the storyline thanks to the authors wonderful descriptive narrative which brings the setting and the characters to life. The plot has plenty of drama, action, suspense and of course romance that I could not put the book down. An enjoyable and engaging read, this series just gets better and better and I hope that there will be more books in this series.

This first novel in the Parker Lake Series delivers the kind of heartwarming and touching tale that the synopsis introduces us to. Many times I found myself smiling or laughing along while I was reading.
Sherwood has written a beautifully heartwarming novel, with great character developments and makes you feel like you’re right there with them. She has the ability to paint a picture with her words while keeping the flow of the characters points of view.
Sherwood had me captivated within moments of starting the first chapter, I couldn’t stop reading! I will most definitely be waiting for the next novel, and hope to have the series on my shelf one day.
