The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Jessica Leombruno

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Executive’s Decision is the first book in the Keller Family series by Bernadette Marie and my first book by this author. I loved that this book is set in Nashville and this was a good start to this family-oriented series.

Zach was determined to be with Regan and Regan wasn’t too sure she wanted a relationship with her boss. So not your typical office romance this one had a hint of suspense. Even the secondary characters were interesting. I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Kerry Carr

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection, #1)Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a really enjoyable but emotional read. It has all the elements I love in a story, Romance, danger and mystery. The characters were really well written that you can’t help but go through the emotional journey with them.

Scott has a gift or a curse depends on the way you think. After he suffered  a near death experience he can now see ghosts. Its not something he wants to encourage so he just ignores them. That is until 1 spirit comes to him for help.

Ghost bride or Zelda as Scott names her arrives into his life. She has no memory of what happened to her, she doesn’t know who she is or how she got there. Together they need to try and piece her story together.
As their journey progresses their connection grows and soon they have feelings neither can deny.

Is Scott falling for a ghost? Is Zelda alive or dead? What is Zelda’s story? Who is she and what happened to her? Can Scott help her recover her memories and uncover the truth?

Electric Temptation (The Protectors, #5)Electric Temptation by Toya Richardson

Toya has mastered the art of storytelling. Her characters came alive on the pages and her writing style captivates the reader. An absolute page turner. She empowers her female characters and gives them the opportunity to lead. A page-turner! I admired her creativity in the characters’ abilities, the vivid descriptions of each scene and the portrayal of strength depicted through the female characters. I was a bit sadElectric Temptation (The Protectors Series Book 5) by Toya Richardson – Review by when it ended- Electric Temptation is one of those stories that the more you read, the more you want to know- but you don’t want it to come to an end.

The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Chrissy Spulak

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If you are a fan of romance, The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie is definitely for you. This book is the first in a series revolving around the Keller family, and from the get-go, you are sucked into their world as if you are, too, a part of the family. Regan Keller has been jilted in the past by developing a relationship with her boss. When fate steps in and she meets Zachary Benson, she is in for quite a surprise. This story is full of romantic scenes, but also contains some heavy situations that address more serious topics – it is not all roses and sunshine. However, the author weaves together the lives of the characters to build an interesting and believable world for readers to visit. It is also unpredictable as each character has their own baggage and secrets that are revealed throughout. It will be interesting to see how the Keller family grows in later installments. I give it 4 stars.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5/5 Stars

Kissing the Kavalier by Annette Nauraine

This is the first book by Nauraine that I’ve had the pleasure of reading. She throws you back into the past and you get to see the world in a new light.

Zdenka, who goes by Zdenko, is pretending to be the brother of her older sister. When Matteo recruits her to be a messenger for him things go south. She falls in love with him and she isn’t supposed to. The quote I chose for Zdenka is: “I’m not eager to return to being a woman. I’ve rather come to enjoy the freedom I have as a gentleman. I can do as I please, walk about unescorted, ride when and where I please.”

Matteo is a soldier who returns home after the battle. He doesn’t remember much because he was taken down. When he meets Zdenka’s older sister things change. He recruits her brother to play messenger and falls in love. Little does he know he’s writing Zendka. The quote I chose for Matteo is: “I only returned last night. I had to at least clean up before I made an appearance. Nice of you to invite so many of the returned soldiers.”

Highly recommended for Historical Romance lovers.

Jinxed (Hell on Heels Book 2) by Maggie Adams – Review by Angela Hayes

Jinxed (Hell on Heels, #2)Jinxed by Maggie Adams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jinxed is the second book in the Hell On Heels series by Maggie Adams. It is a romantic comedy, which made for a delightfully funny romp- but with some secrets, a little of the supernatural, some danger, and a touch of drama the story made for a fun read.
After meeting Sadie and the “soul sisters” in Miranda’s story, MINX (Book #1), I was really looking forward to reading Sadie’s story here. And I am happy to say that she, and Ms. Adams didn’t disappoint. My favourite of the series, so far!
Looking forward to the other ‘soul sisters’ stories!

Thank you, Maggie Adams!

Electric Temptation (The Protectors Series Book 5) by Toya Richardson – Review by Liz Vrchota

Electric Temptation (The Protectors, #5)Electric Temptation by Toya Richardson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I always know I am in for an adventure when I pick up a novel by Toya Richardson and Electric Temptation was no exception to the rule. I once again was sucked into her magical and paranormal world with the fifth book in The Protectors Series, Electric Temptation. Even though it is the fifth it is not necessarily needed to read the whole series, but I do think your reading experience would benefit. Like I hinted at earlier, Richardson does a wonderful job of world building. You feel transported into a new place with the characters and feel as if you are experiencing things as they do. This has lots of layers to a paranormal romance, so I am sure most anyone would find something to enjoy in this little gem of a read. I cannot wait to see what the next novel will bring!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have yet to read a book by Brooke May that I did not just outright laugh while reading. This book is no exception to the rule. I was so excited to get my hands on this as soon as I saw the teasers. Scorching Hot Mess is an easy read with lots of aspects to it that almost anyone who loves to laugh could read this and find it absolutely enjoyable. I really loved our MC, Willow Everett. She is the definition of a hot mess lol. I found this catchy and relatable because this is often a phrase I use to describe my kiddos or myself lol. Someone is always having a hot mess kind of day in our house. I loved how this book read so fast as well even at a full length novel. I got to devour it on a sunny afternoon and it could not have been the more perfect read to lift my spirits. If you love witty rom coms and strong characters with some fun twists this is the book for you! I am excited to see what we will get next from Brooke May!

The SEAL’s Temptation (Wounded Hearts Book 7) by Jacquie Biggar – Review by Liz Vrchota

The SEAL's Temptation (Wounded Hearts #7)The SEAL’s Temptation by Jacquie Biggar
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was one full novel with lots of layers and details, but the best part I love of Jacquie Biggar is that she can take a complicated story and make it easy to read. I really enjoyed this suspenseful romance that kept me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what would come next and how our characters would end up. Maggie is a relatable woman and really I found myself pulling for her throughout the whole thing ready to find out if she would end up safe and happily in love. This will be one you won’t want to put down so grab a drink and a comfy space and dive on in! I cannot wait to see what we will get next from Ms. Biggar.

The SEAL’s Temptation (Wounded Hearts Book 7) by Jacquie Biggar – Review by Angela Hayes

The SEAL's Temptation (Wounded Hearts #7)The SEAL’s Temptation by Jacquie Biggar
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The SEAL’s Temptation is the seventh book in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar. It is a wounded warrior/military romance and a romantic suspense full of danger, drama, emotion, action, a bit of a love triangle, PTSD, and twists + turns. It had all the ingredients needed to keep me hooked and hurriedly turning the pages, avidly reading all the developments to find out how everything would play out.
This is the seventh book in the series, but can be read as a standalone if you wanted. But having said that, it does follow on from “Maggie’s Revenge” (Book #6) as Maggie is also a MC in this story- so I strongly suggest that reading that book before starting on this one as it will better help you appreciate this story.
Maggie Holt is a DEA agent who is recovering from an undercover mission that nearly cost her life. Her 18month with the Mexican Drug cartel has played havoc with her mental and emotional wellbeing, leaving Maggie feeling quite broken, and a shadow of her former self.
Frank Stein is a former SEAL and owner of the ranch. He hopes that the beautiful, peaceful setting of the ranch will help Maggie on her road to recovery. But what happens when we throw in a bit of a love triangle into the situation, and then add some escaped convicts, and an extremist group to the plot? We get an intense, and gripping read that definitely had its hooks in me right through till the end!
I wonder what Ms. Biggar has in store for us next!

Thank you, Jacquie Biggar!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Have you ever had that relationship that didn’t quite fit into your life when you thought it should? Have you ever had that relationship that you knew was bad for you but kept going back until the final straw broke?

Jaxon Hale is a former Navy SEAL with an honorable discharge after an injury on active duty. Jaxon is filling in for Captain Kane of the Honolulu Police to find a path that he can live with after the military. Kayla Kane returns to Honolulu after an encounter with her live-in boyfriend, Roy. Jaxon and Kayla share a past, but secrets have marred that past since Jaxon was a senior and Kayla was a freshman. After all this time, Jaxon and Kayla’s paths collide again. Trying to keep their families safe from hidden forces and working through the pain they both share, will Jaxon and Kayla finally find a place in their hearts for each other?

I truly loved this book. It’s full of passion, suspense, and real-life issues. Family plays a major part in the lives of both characters. Rebuilding after drastic life changes and finding a place to call home is something that I connected with, and other readers should too.

Most readers don’t like to start a series in the middle, but this book is a true stand-alone. It mentions characters from the first book but can definitely be read without reading the previous book.

Malina Johansson is an independent woman. She cannot allow herself to depend on anyone else, let alone fall in love. Not after losing the one true love of her life all those years ago.

Tyler Hale has always had a thing for Malina growing up. Now, the Navy SEAL has to figure out how to make her see that they are meant to be together. Throw in a mole who has been leaking secrets about the SEAL team’s missions, a hostage situation, and an island hideaway, and you’ve got a steamy romance story! Kissing the KavalierKissing the Kavalier by Annette Nauraine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an endearing story of honor, duty, family, and love. Set in 1867 Vienna, Lieutenant Matteo von Ritter has come home from the war. A head injury has left him with lapses in his memory about the night he was injured. Why were his injuries almost non-existent, while his two comrades have life altering wounds? Did he abandon them, like a coward?

Zdenka Walden, disguised as her sister’s brother, poses as a chaperone while her sister is presented at the Coachman’s Ball in hopes of finding a suitable husband. When Zdenka befriends Matteo as “Zdenko”, things become complicated. Zdenka begins exchanging letters with Matteo, pretending they are from her sister, all the while falling in love with him. This was a very entertaining story with some humor, the reality of PTSD and its effects on people, as well as what one will do in the name of love.

Twisted Throttle is the third book in the Santa’s Devils MC Second Generation series by Manda Mellett. Manda Mellett is one of my go to authors. I have read all of the Satan’s Devils books and this one by far is my favorite. This book can be read as a standalone, or you could just read the Second Generation seiries, but I recommend you read all of the Satan’s Devils books because it will be well worth your time if you are a fan of MC’s. I am not going to give away any of this story. You have read the blurb, if that did grasp your attention, I don’t know what will. This story was filled with action, adventure, mystery, suspense and romance. It kept me up all night and I just had to write this review at 4:30 am. Electric Temptation is the fifth book in The Protectors Series by Toya Richardson is a great paranormal romance story. It is full of magic and shifters, witches and elementals and has a little bit of everything you want in a good paranormal story. I’ve said it before, but Toya always gives us that little bit of something more, that makes her worlds and characters charming and makes you feel a part of it.

Mason knows the stakes are high this time and he won’t let her down. Now he just has to find her and keep her safe from those who seek to take away the very essence of who and what she is.

4.5 stars

The SEAL’s Temptation: Wounded Hearts- Book 7 by Jacquie Biggar is a military romantic suspense story. There are several sub plots going on in this book, but Jacquie does a great job in tying them altogether giving us an action packed read. Her development of the characters is complex I love the fact that SEAL’s are never really civilians, they are a brotherhood and a family. Her writings of Maggie and her PTSD is believable and acutely palpable. This vivid page turner had my heart pounding in my chest and at attention as I was transported into the intrigue and drama, action and the journey and part of the team. The story is well written, and the words flowed easily. I didn’t realise it was book 7 in the series until after I had started reading so now, I need to go back and start at the beginning to where it all started and get everyone’s back story.

Bryanna is extremely brave and loyal, almost to a fault but she is fierce when her heart is all in.

The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Jules Herbert

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Executive’s Decision By Bernadette Marie had me captivated from the very first paragraph.
You just knew that someone having that bad a start to their day had to have more interesting things coming her way.
The leading lady of this novel is Regan, a young beautiful woman who has gone through hell and survived, who now just wants a fresh start and a chance at a happy life. First step, New job but with that new job comes her Boss Zachary Benson. A “Hottie” according to his former assistant and a man who soon knows what he wants…Regan!
She has VERY good reason for NOT wanting to Date her Boss so the question in your mind quickly becomes ..can Zach convince her he is not anything like her past and that he truly loves her no matter what! No path to true love is ever smooth and they have obstacles to pass. I was on Zachs side the whole way wishing Regan could see his genuine love for her and let go of the demons from her past to be with him.
Not only do you fall for Zach and Regan, reading as quickly as you can to see what will happen, but the other characters around them also draw you in and i personally can not wait for more in this series!
Thank you Bernadette Marie for these wonderful heartfelt characters and all the sleepless nights i see in my future continuing to read the rest of this series…i just can’t wait!

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett- Review by Shadel Ayerbe

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection, #1)Peaceful Slumber by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Peaceful Slumber (Soul Connection Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett is a book full of mystery and paranormal. The lines between life and death seem to blur.

Scott used to be a fairly average person before he died. For a short period, he was able to see ghosts. He sees her for the first time in a graveyard, dressed in a bloodstained wedding gown. No one else is aware of her presence. He seems to be at a loss about how to assist her. A ghost stuck in her version of hell with no memory of her life or death is the one that makes him feel alive for the first time in eons. It almost sounds like the beginning of a horror story. Zelda is an amnesiac ghost bride who has no recollection of her life or death One person can only see her. Scott is her only hope of unlocking her memories since she has no idea who she is or how she got into this condition.

This book has a little of everything. I enjoyed every last chapter. I can’t wait to continue reading the series.

The SEAL’s Temptation: Wounded Hearts by Jacquie Biggar was a little hard to get into at first, not having read the first couple books of the series. There were a lot of characters to get to know. But the suspense was enough to keep me interested. Who would Maggie Holt choose to pick as her life partner now that she was free from her own personal hell? Would it be her partner Adam or the former Navy SEAL Chief Frank? Would Maggie be found for fit for duty once again with the DEA? A good southern Texas suspenseful romance with ranches and missing cattle. Well written story with lots of little details to keep you guessing.

Jordan’s Shadow by T. R. Cupak was a really good read! It was so entertaining and enthralling I could hardly put it down! This book was very steamy, and even darker. This is definitely not a book for the faint of heart. My only complaint, with some events that happen in the plot, is that I didn’t see a trigger warning or content warning. I feel like there should have been, because some of the content may be very damaging for some readers. Other than that small bit, this was an amazing book! I loved almost everything, the plot, storyline and characters. Or most of the characters, definitely not all. I’m still unsure of the ending, but still really enjoyed this read. I can’t wait to read more from this author in the future!
