My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Alexa Hart let herself fall once for a man who she though was her everything but he showed his true colors and Alexa did everything she could to protect herself. She took back her life and now is living the dream, she does not expect to meet Miles Fischer and she knows he is her one.

Miles is a shifter, part of Alexa running is due to her ex who was a shifter. Miles knows that Alexa is his mate but can he convince her that he will love and protect before he reveals his secret or will it be too late?

A bit different than other shifter stories, I liked the twist on it. The chemistry is great, had a little bit of everything i like in a paranormal read. Will be curious if there are more to come.

If you liked my faults you’re going to like the storyline of this book.
Riley is new to town. that’s normal her mom and her travel constantly moving from city to city to exploits their next con. Running to survive Riley father.
With her uncle at her side she feels like she can overcome anything. That is till everything changes and her mother decides to settle down.
Popular kids always get what they want and Cole is no exception. He his brother and two cousins rule the town. But Cole is bored he wants a challenge and that’s exactly what Riley poses.
However things get complicated when they find out they’re going to be step siblings.

The heat is there but they try to ignore it especially when Cole is freezing her out to chase them away from his father. Cole is so confused he’s warring with himself
And Riley’s trying to figure out her life find a new norm. Or is this just another con.

My only call out The book is a lot of loose ends. In its entirety you feel like you’re reading a never ending cliff hanger because you get tiny morsels of information but nothing that tells you enough.

In the fourth book of the Powder River Pack Series, Brooke May takes the reader on a journey with Alexa and Miles. After reading the first three books, the reader has been given a glimpse into their journey, but this book really digs into the whole story. The backstory for Alexa with Grant and Teague, and then meeting Miles and her struggles to trust him, followed by some action-packed chapters to really seal the deal. This was another great read and I really enjoyed reading about these characters.

Romance, mystery, supernatural experiences and so much more. This book had my attention from the start and it didn’t disappoint! I loved the interaction between Marcy and Mike. It’s been a while since I read the first book but I had no problem catching up on things. It’s a rare book that makes me giggle or laugh as I’m reading which makes it great fun. The local community theater group is putting on a play. Vintage clothing is a key component to the success of the show. The characters from Divine Vintage are featured here, but this is certainly a stand-alone novel. There is romance, as well as a fifty-year-old mystery. Family values, and the value of family, are both explored. The main character learns to take a chance on herself.

Another book that met my expectations. I loved learning more about Macy and Brandon and their very non traditional start and the journey of getting back together. Reading about Miranda made me laugh so hard and as a mom, I could just envision all the chaos that little girl was causing! I have enjoyed the connections to the previous books and all the overlapping of characters and storylines. Another successful book from Brooke May.

Divinely Dramatic is the second book in the Divine Vintage series by Sandra L. Young. It is another interesting cozy mystery, with a touch of the paranormal which added an extra element of interest to the story. Add in some drama, secrets, a community theatre production, a 5o year-old mystery, ghostly games, some superstition, investigation, a touch of romance, fun, fashion, and a lightheaded feel.
I really enjoyed the first book, Divine Vintage, and so I was happy to see this second book had released. This time we follow Marcy, who gets involved in a community theatre production as a costumer. With a fifty-year-old mystery hanging over the production, strange things begin to happen, and as things unfold, we are pulled further and further into this engrossing story.
Another fun read-
Happy reading…

Thank you, Sandra L. Young!

Marcy Alexander has agreed to help her friend with the costumes for a play that she is doing. She ends up not only reading lines for a lady that never showed up to rehearsals, but ends up being cast in that leas role. What exactly has she gotten herself into? A ghost known as Ellen shows up with a mystery for Marcy to solve. Ellen herself was the leading lady of the very play Marcy got sucked into 50 years prior and mysteriously disappeared. Will Marcy be able to solve Ellen’s mystery and help her to rest peacefully? Or will it be her final curtain? This was a good sequel to Divinely Vintage and can be read as a stand alone. It was entertaining and kept me turning the pages.

This is a new to me author and she did not disappoint! Let me tell you that I devoured this book. It was just the right amount of spice combined with fantastic characters and page turning action.

When I first picked up this book I didn’t realize it was so far I to a series of other books but I still enjoyed it! While it certainly can be read as a stand alone I think that if I started from book one I would have enjoyed it much more. I can not wait to start this series from the beginning.

I really love this series by this author and this is yet another great addition to it. I am a die hard vampire romance reader and this once again hit the spot. I love how the author is able to bring the characters to life and drag the reader into the book. There is just the right amount of drama and adventure mixed into the romance. I really like how this brings the characters together as well as creates the world in which they are in. The reader is really drawn into the world and left on the edge of their seats waiting to see how the story will unfold. I really love how the books really do blend into one another. Resisting Nature (Powder River Pack Series) by Brooke May – Review by Jessica Stone

So, this is the first book from this author that I’ve read, and I know that its book 4 but from the synopsis I was hoping I wasn’t going to be to lost and I wasn’t. I believe that other characters stories from previous novels and future novels kind of overlap in this book but not to the point where I felt lost or unable to read this without the prior books being read first. So, that being said, no, it’s not a standalone BUT if you do read it out of order, you’ll be ok.

I love shifter romance books so this one was right up my alley, I of course enjoyed the mating bond clicking into place pretty much immediately between on two main characters I think that adds a interesting air to there interactions in the book from the get go. Its also very interesting how it’s kinda like they both know but don’t know they other knows, type of thing at first, makes for a fun time.

I feel like the relationship, banter interactions and scenes that played out throughout this book are really fun, the main characters have amazing chemistry, which makes it’s hot and sultry but it’s also playful and fun. I think the pack interactions are pretty much what you would picture from a bunch of male shifter, also didn’t mention that ONLY men are shifters in this book, wild right, as if there wasn’t already enough testosterone.

The author made this fun by starting off pretty quickly in the present but adding dangers from Alexa’s past throughout the book to bring everything to a head, I haven’t read a wolf shifter like this one before. Miles is so endearing to me, literal puppy love, he’s so ready and willing and accepting for everything that is Alexa I could not help but love him, and Alexa bless her heart, just wants a safe and normal future, so it’s kinda ironic that she meets miles while running from her past that’s stepped in abuse from the very thing miles is.

I’m trying so hard not to spoil this book, because I found it really interesting and didn’t see all the twists and turns coming but I do think that if I had the chance to go back and read the first three before this one I absolutely would just to be ever more immersed in this world and the packs.

Marcy is called in to help out her friend Justine as a costume designer for an upcoming production of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest” when Justine is called away to other duties. Marcy shows up and the director comes across as very brash and condescending after Marcy was told that he was a big teddy bear and very sweet. First impressions matter! As Marcy is attending rehearsals to gather the needed information to fit everyone for costumes, she suddenly finds herself reading lines for the female star of the show. The actress casted for this part has never shown up for any rehearsals and no one knows where she is or if she’s ok. Marcy fits in great with the cast and soon finds herself not only as the costume designer but also as a lead actress.

There are some very strange occurrences in the costume loft. Weird flashes of lights, sounds of chains rattling, and bats just to name a few things. Marcy is able to see auras and along with her friend, Tess, they are able to see into the supernatural world. Marcy and Tess “meet” Ellen, the original female lead from 50 years ago who mysteriously died during the production of the show. Can Marcy and Tess figure out this mystery and put Ellen to rest?

This book is very enjoyable, as was the first book in this series. This book can be read as a stand alone but why would you want to miss out on all the fun of vintage dresses and historical sightings? I’m hoping there will be more stories in this series to come!

Divinely Dramatic (Divine Vintage Series, #2)Divinely Dramatic by Sandra L. Young
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Divinely Dramatic by Sandra L. Young is a fun ghostly romance tale. It is a fast-paced story that combines romance, mystery and paranormal elements. This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Marcy is a little eclectic, a talented artist and a vintage fashionista who loves vintage clothing and a good mystery. She has just discovered she has a talent of seeing auras and with-it ghostly friends. At the last minute she and her friends from Divinely Vintage find themselves caught up in a years old mystery for a local theatre group and hopefully send its visitor on her way.

With a little mother daughter angst, a ghostly encounter, a theatre, amateur thespians, vintage clothing and a few manly confusions along the way Divinely Dramatic should not be missed.

This fun tale is filled with unexpected twists, clothes from different periods and a cast of characters that bring the story to life and keep the reader engrossed in the story.

I look forward to what comes next.

This is the second book in the Divine Vintage series. Even though it is the second book you can read them as standalone reads however I think you will be captivated enough with the story to want to read them in order.
I loved the mix of romance, mystery and paranormal. The characters are so well developed and I have to admit Marcy is definately a favourite.
Marcy is an assistant costume designer and when she is called up to produce costumes for the show “The Importance of Being Earnest” she gets more than she bargains for. As well as the responsibility of producing the costumes she has to deal with a stubborn director and a mystery of a horrific death that happend 50 years before.
I loved how Marcy is gifted to see people’s auras as this is what helps her in her search to unravel the mystery.
With strange lights, unexplained noises, and strange creatures this is a fast paced story that will keep you on your toes and has surprises around every corner. I loved being transported back in time and the authors attention to detail really brings the story to life.
I look forward to reading more from this author.

What a page-turner! This I was the finale of Riley and Cole’s story and I couldn’t put it down. The previous two installments built to this finale and it was full of suspense and steam.

I really enjoyed that character building that took place throughout the story, as well as the romance building. The heat and attraction between Cole and Riley easily come through the pages and you as the reader want them to stop fighting it by trying to hate each other. While this is a romance, the mystery and suspense woven throughout keeps the reader engaged and the author has an effortless writing style. I really enjoyed the way the story comes together, but it was a bumpy ride and well worth the read!

Whispered Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Charlene Pryke

Whispered Surrender (Sinful Duets #1)Whispered Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Whispered Surrender by Via Maria is part one in the sinful duets series and is the combination of two interlinking novels Wayward and undercover about two beautiful twin Russian Princesses.

Wayward is the story of Jay the head of security and a born protector and dominant whom has never been one to become obsessed or needy when it comes to the many women in his life. There is just something about Sasha.

Undercover is the story of Matt and how he met Marenah whilst undercover. Matt is being held whilst undercover by Chicago Mafia’s goons. The head of whom is none other than the twins dad!! Clues that Marendah sends to Sasha via her friend is enough for Jay and his team to break them both free.

There is some pretty heavy sex scenes in both novels as well as a lot going on with the underlying Mafia storyline. I do believe that you need to read all of Via Maria’s previous novels to be able to truly follow along with the characters that are mentioned and referenced. As a lot of the time I think the background of these characters whom have been in previous novels would help to give you a better perspective on the background of what’s going on.

I will for sure be going back and reading to catch myself up.
