A well written story, which has elements of dark fantasy and romance. Valentina is a fighter, who works hard for her living. After the disappearance of her parents, her brother’s drinking habits gets her family into trouble. The man she has given her heart to, leaves her behind to travel the world. One night, unable to bear her brother’s tantrums, she escapes the house and seeks asylum in a wealthy man’s house. Everything seems to be going well for her there, little does she know that there is magic around the house. And when a darker force rises in the town, she ventures to stop it. Nisse, the other protagonist has a soft corner on Valentina and when he finds her missing in the mansion, he sets off in a quest to find her. In the backdrop, there is a war raging between dwarves and the humans. Will Valentina and Nisse be able to bring back peace between them? This forms the crux of the story. It is a breezy read with elements of fantasy, magic, suspense and romance. The narration happens in the point of view from multiple characters, which makes the book more interesting. I really enjoyed this book!

Secure Desire Chase Security Series Book 1 By R.L.Dunn ☆☆☆☆☆ This is a full length novel, and can be read as a standalone. I for one will be looking for book 2. This book is for those 18 and older due to the adult theme. A spectacular start to this Romantic Suspense Series.
This is Cassie and Ian’s story. Cassie is probably the strongest heroine I have ever read about. She is Amazing. She works with the FBI, specializing in stolen art. She really knows her stuff when it comes to protecting herself from her creep of a boss. He is working her last nerve, this could be dangerous. But only time will tell. Ian Chase, Wow he has been smitten but is trying with everything he has not for fall for Cassie. He is professional and puts his job first. But I know he would like to…. Well you will just have to read the book to find out what he really wants to do. He is a strong character in this story. You can’t help but fall in love with him
R.L. Dunn! WOW this book is intense! Starting with the first page. It is a fast read only because you can’t set it down until you have read the last page. R.L. Dunn has the perfect characters for this book. You will either love them or hate them. There is no middle of the road here. There are also no spoilers. You will have to read it to believe it. I just know I want to be like Cassie, and have Ian as a close friend. Well Done R. L. Dunn! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series…

WOW! What a great read. This is not my usual style book but I couldn’t pull myself away! The author does a great job with Character build-up as well as having a good flow throughout the book. I really couldn’t put this one down, there’s some ups downs, and sideways feelings in this book. I look forward to reading more from this author!

I’ll See You Again: A Scottish rock star, standalone opposites-attract romance (Reigning Hearts Book 4) by KG Fletcher. This author knocks it out of the part every time. This series can definitely be read as stand-alone without any confusion but I do highly recommend all these amazing books. The characters pulled me into their world with ease and I loved getting lost with them. They definitely have a chemistry that jumps off the pages and has you feeling everything they are. This author does a wonderful job of of hitting even the smallest details. It’s a well written story that’s paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I found myself up later than planned because I simply couldn’t put it down. I’m giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it. Can’t wait to see where this author takes readers next.

This book starts out with the main character seeking revenge but it changes pace as it switches the narrative of the intention. The dynamics of the characters play well into the reader’s hand. This is steamy yet romantic as they get caught up in one another. Great read!

This is the first and only book I’ve read by the author up until last week sometime. The book is a quick read but it’s a beautiful read. Autumn peaked my interest from the first chapter and continued to hold my interest till the last chapter. I loved what she offered herself as a woman and what she offered Liam as a love interest but even better, what they offered one another as they continue through the book getting better acquainted. The whole book has this mystery as we unravel Autumn’s past but it was worth the read as I couldn’t tear myself away. The whole book took my interest and wouldn’t let go. This was a brilliant read! Loved every page which I found very relatable and personable.

Secure Desire is the opening move of Chase Security Series by R.L. Dunn. It is my first read by this writer and as I was feeling for some action packed romance then I decided to take a chance on the series (I love series as it gives me hope for more great books to come … add to this the family aspect and I am more than willing to take the chance). Secure Desire gives us plenty of mystery, murder, violence, hidden agendas, clandestine ops, family, friendship, explosive chemistry and so much more! The first brother up is Ian Chase who is an ex-Navy SEAL heading a billion dollar venture capital and private security empire with a global reach. Six years earlier he met briefly a beautiful art historian Cassiopeia Ellis. He remembers her but he ‘let her go’ as at the time she was engaged … now, meeting her again, she is working for the FBI and a free agent (not engaged or married) … Add to this the fact that Cassie remembers meeting Ian but not much else from that night except the intense nightmares that she is haunted by. Their chemistry is explosive but she is a bit hesitant as she does not remember much of that night and is concerned he would not want to have anything to do with her if her secrets come out … The writer takes us on a mad rollercoaster ride and I suggest you hold on tight to your seat and take notes as there are many characters and who knows how many of them we will encounter when we get to the next book (which I already have downloaded and waiting for me!)! Come along and join the chase and you will not regret the hours you’ll spend with Ian and Cassie and co!

Finders Reapers: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 4) By Carrie Pulkinen 4 Stars
This series is so much fun to read. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but I recommend that you read them all. They are really good. They are paranormal romances filled with lovable characters. Witches, angels, demons and reapers. In this book a reaper decides to take a vacation. Well all hell breaks loose, literally. The story is hilarious and with a twist towards the end, I believe that this book is well worth the read. Review by @ Anna Hirsch

Can a chance meeting of people change the outlook of people? In this book, there are three people who meet and it changes their life. In a big city like New York, strangers meet and it was fate. Cynthia Hamilton’s story-line is engaging. I was interested to see three strangers meet together and what fate has in store for them. Her characters are engaging and easy to follow. I feel as if I was right there in the story with them. I found myself having many emotions while reading this story. I highly recommend reading this story but will caution you may want to set enough time to read it in one sitting.

Pippa Frost is an amazing author that writes about dwarves and humans. Her descriptive writing paints a vivid picture in my mind’s eye. The plotline is what kept me turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. The characters are intriguing as well. I felt as if the characters were alive and were in my world. I felt the need to keep turning the pages to see what is coming next. This story is about Valentina and Nisse. They need to get the dwarves and humans together and bring peace across the land. How will they do that? Will they be able to complete what they started? I highly recommend this story. You will want to see how Valentina and Nisse accomplish what they started.

House of Illusions: A Dark Fantasy Romance by Pippa J. Frost
This book grabbed me from the beginning and kept me entertained throughout. I found that the author did an awesome job making me feel like I was right in the story with her descriptive scenery and wonderful characters. This story is full of magic, twists and turns, danger, fantasy, and some romance. I had no idea who to trust or not until I reached the end of the story. This book will take you on a magical adventure, to find out what happens this is a must read. I highly recommend this book.

This is an enjoyable quick read. It has nIce twists and turns. The story is different from what I usually read. I liked the subject matter. Dealing with the reaper and a necromancer. Ash, who is the Reaper, has a problem. He has feelings for a girl. Reapers don’t feel feelings. So he is perplexed. I liked his characterization. Fun yet dangerous. He is embarrassed about his other worldly “look” and doesn’t think anyone will ever like it. Jasmine likes Ash but doesn’t think he likes her. Plus she has that whole “talks to the dead” thing that people shy away from.
This story involves ghosts, Demons, angels and among others…our two main characters. This is a lively read that I thoroughly enjoyed. It has a nice flow and memorable characters.

This was a great action packed story. It contains everything I love. Mystery, romance, a dominant protective man and a strong independent woman. It was an amazing read that kept me gripped from page one. The characters are so well written you can’t help but feel the feelings they are experiencing.
Cassie is a strong independent woman who has suffered trauma in her life. After losing her family in an accident she was all alone. When she was attacked it changed her whole outlook on life and the people in it. She finds it hard to trust and let down her guard. Six years later she is working with the FBI. With a boss that is constantly harassing her sexually it makes all her old fears come back to the surface. Can she trust any man?
Ian is a successful business man of Chase Security. His job is protection and when he meet Cassie straight away his feelings towards her become more than just bring protective of her. He senses something bad in her past but until she confides in him he doesnt know what that is. Can he prove to her that not all men are the same? Can she let herself trust a man ever again?
With danger out to get her and troubles at work with her boss can Cassie trust Ian enough to let him protect her before its too late.

Sweet Salvation (The Protectors Series #3) by Toya Richardson
Book has a trigger warning. This is the first book I’ve read by the author. It’s the third book in The Protectors Series. This was a phenomenal read and I will be reading the next. Richardson has a way of bringing these characters to life.
Manuela, a prisoner, doesn’t think she’ll survive the day. Her captors let her loose so they can hunt her down. Little does she know that things are going to change for her. The quote I chose for Manuela is: “I can’t do this, Josh. Drake has ruined me. Why the hell would you want to be with me after you’ve seen what he’s done? All the disgusting things he did to my body.”
Josh is brought to Spain to help look for Manuela. When her mother hands him a picture his life changes. He knows that it’ll take time for everything to work out in the end. The quote I chose for Josh is: “Don’t push yourself to do this, darling. You’ve been through too much already.”

House of Illusions is an enchanting fantasy novel by Pippa J. Frost. It is set in the Swiss Alps, and draws on local folklore to create an immersive magical world. The narrative passes between the perspectives of many characters, always clearly indicated at the start of the chapter. This lets the reader see the story unfolding across multiple settings, as we begin to piece together the puzzle. There are plenty of twists and turns and, as the title suggests, you can’t always trust what you see. For me, the best thing about this book was the setting. It reminded me of childhood visits to the alps and the stories I was told about dwarves and dragons. The descriptions of the landscape and details such as plants really enhanced the vivid picture Frost paints. I found it hard to warm to the characters as we are always aware that not all of them can be trusted. But by the end, once I knew who was really on Valentina’s side, I definitely had some favourites! And Valentina herself is an admirable protagonist, with a strong sense of duty and self-preservation. For me, this is a five-star book. I would definitely recommend it to fantasy fans! This book will transport you and draw you into a fantastic story. I’m looking forward to reading more by Frost in the future!

I fell head over heels in love with Road and Swift’s story!!! When Road leaves Tucson after an accident, heads towards the Utah chapter. Things are not always what they seem is definitely the motto there. Will things work out for Road or will everything come crashing down around him?? Once again Manda has outdone herself!!! I am so looking forward to many many more!!!

I really felt like I knew these characters and felt everything they were going through and experiencing. Adding this author to my list to watch out for new books.

I loved how Frost started this story. It was a beginning that immediately pulled me in and caused me to understand more about our heroine and her world. This fantasy felt tangible and epic. I really appreciated the world building and the class distinction that was outlined. I thought the characters were well developed and a great amount of thought was used to develop this world and all of its inhabitants. Frost has put together a beautiful world in my estimation and one that I hope I am able to visit again. This is a book I am adding to my “read again” list – I cannot wait to enjoy these characters again!

I happened to love KG Fletcher as an author from the way she writes love stories, draws me in and keeps my attention with the characters she writes about. This book is no exception: Love is tested between these two but as usual their own inner emotions keep them apart but there was so much more keeping them together. This book shows you more than anything that love is risky, it can be tight knit, tested but love always pulls through.

The Autumn Leaf by Brittany Tarkington is a stand-alone coming of age story.
Autumn hasn’t had it easy. Making the decision to go from Texas to Washington state for college might have been the easiest thing Autumn has faced. Autumn plans to keep her head down, focus on school and do what she needs to do. That is until she meets Liam. Autumn keeps him at a distance at first but that just doesn’t work for Liam. He needs to spend more time with her and getting Autumn to tutor him might just be the way to do it. As Autumn spends more time with Liam, she realizes they have a lot in common. Appearances can be deceiving. Just because he seems to have it all together on the outside doesn’t make it a reality. Autumn and Liam keep each other’s secrets and Autumn realizes she might have something worth fighting for. Will she remember that just when Liam needs her to?
I absolutely loved this book! I read it in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down! The characters were great! Autumn definitely grew as a person throughout the story. I definitely recommend this book!
There is so much I can say about this story. It is real. It has so much in it and yet not enough, I wanted more. This was written in a way that made it easy to picture like a movie in my mind, very vivid, like I was standing in the Mountains in Washington. This doesn’t even include the emotion that Brittany tore out of me, the heartache, the real and raw life people live that we overlook daily, the good, bad, and ugly. It has the best of the drama, friendship, mean girls, and hot frat guys!
I really enjoyed all that this book was and I will definitely be back to read more by this author.
I enjoyed this story for the most part. The actual story and the character were very good. I didn’t care for the sexy times. It just seemed like the wording didn’t fit in with the characters. I could feel the connection between the two characters so it wasn’t that. Anyway the story easily kept my interest. I wish there was more office/lawyer times instead of all of it after work. Each of the characters is likable in their own right but when they come together it’s a delight.
I really liked Gabe. He seemed so perplexed with Olivia and his feelings. He tries so hard for her. It’s great. His nervousness and dates are lovely. On secondary characters I absolutely love his family! The advice and the support are phenomenal!
Overall it’s a good read. It’s filled with some fun and some not so fun times. Delightful characters that are as sweet as they are sinful. I look forward to more from this author.

Brittany Tarkington is a new author to me and I am really pleased to have discovered her. I thoroughly enjoyed this Young Adult story which was a college romance with a more angsty feel to it. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this novel and the main character, Autumn Miller had me intrigued from the start and I found unraveling her past as the story evolved had me fully immersed in her story. Autumn arrives on campus with a stack of cash and the clothes she’s wearing, her goal is to blend in and graduate. However, when she meets Liam Shafer she can’t help but get closer to him as their mutual attraction and their connection is instant. The closer they get the deeper she falls for him which makes running away when a missing person’s poster is found and she is confronted with her past more difficult than usual for Autumn. Autumn is used to dealing with her problems by running away and leaving everything and everyone behind but this time she realises she can not leave Liam behind so easily. This is a wonderfully written book with great characters in Autumn and Liam, the author really made me get to know and like the couple and so I felt invested in their outcome. I was hooked from page one of this novel and I found the plot fascinating and the storyline flowed well and moved along at a good pace. I enjoyed the extended epilogues at the end which gave a glimpse into Autumn and Liams life in the future. I found ‘Autumn Leaf’ to be an emotional college romance with added depth which makes this a five star read for me.

Enchanted Passion (The Protectors Series Book 4) by Toya Richardson. This is a fun paranormal love story that grabs your attention and doesn’t let up until you are finished. Its the story of Luna who is a part of the Protector Community and she loves the life she has now. Rhys is an Elemental and they are to stay away from Protector’s so when he falls in love with Luna his life is turned upside down. They are so attracted to one another its a physical battle to stay away from one another. Luna is smart, hard headed and beautiful even though she is a witch. Luna’s past comes into play and may ruin any chances she and Rhys have of making it work. Rhys will move heaven and earth for Luna. The other characters in the book are fun, helpful and some are downright evil. Luna and Rhys are trying to keep the evil from winning. Will they continue to deny each other the pleasure of their love or will they break down and try to make it work. This book is steamy at times and you will think holy moly! I loved this book it was a fun exciting read.

I really enjoyed this romance story. It isn’t the first book i have read by this author but it is definately one of my favourites.
It follows the idea of opposites attracting and about how we sometimes view people based of their relationships past and present. For example in Jakes case he has been married and divorced 7 times so you start to think whats wrong with this guy. Does he just fall in love to quick? Is he addicted to getting married but gets bored when its official?
These are questions that Allison is trying to find answers too. Allison is a journalist and her next article is about loving multiple times. Why do it and who does it? As she embarks on this discovery of this topic and one man’s experience I particular she finds herself feelings things she didn’t think she would.
Set in beautiful landscapes on a ranch this story is heartwarming and so well written you feel like you’ve know the characters for years.

This is my first read by this author and i thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a one sitting read for me and although sleep was calling I could not put it down until I finished.
The flow of this story was perfect and every word needed throughout. The character building was amazing and Liam and Autumn were awesome from their first, or maybe their second meeting. The build up from page one while following Autumn had me completely invested in what she had been going through and where she was going, the complete why of it all came a bit later and threatened to ruin what Autumn had been working towards.
I loved the dialogue between Autumn and Liam, and I also loved a couple of the other characters, and of course a couple others brought out the complete opposite feelings.
This is a great story, very quick, smooth flowing and it keeps you on the edge of your seat just enough to want to know what happens next. I would recommend this book to friends and also am really looking forward to reading more by this author.
I have read multiple books by this author and I have truly enjoyed them all….. I had a little trouble getting into I’ll See You Again, in the beginning. The Scottish brogue had me confused for a minute….. once I got it, boy did I get it. I absolutely feel head over heels in love with Mac and Nicky!! Their romance and chemistry was one I loved reading. My heart did break as I read a certain part, so be prepared and have tissues nearby. You know it is a great book when you are finished and you still want the story to go on and continue. Once again, Ms. Fletcher did not disappoint and I can not wait for more!!!!

Lucky at Love: Some guys just never give up… by Cynthia Hamilton is a romance story but also so much more. Cynthia once again has written something that is intriguing and vividly rich with ups and downs and much more. Cynthia gives us characters that are relatable. They have warts and all and have wants and dreams and come with all the flaws, just like we all do, and that makes them so much more endearing. I would have to say that this book is my favourite story from Cynthia. We all want to have our HEA.
