Seraphina (Heartstrings Series) by Brooke May – Review by Brandy Rymer

SeraphinaSeraphina by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is by far my favorite book in the Heartstrings series, what a wonderful moral that we learn in this book. Not only do we learn that actions speak louder than words, but we also see that the love of mankind is far more important than anything money can buy. Seraphina also referred to as Meanie by Aiko, our first cupid that we met in book one of this series, not only helps to show why she’s developed this nickname, but she grows through the process of this latest assignment. She is working with Seth, a man that she has been tethered to two other times, both of which failed after she had left the romance to finish blooming on their own, must come back a third time to help Seth, a pro ice hockey player, to find the love of his life. Seraphina is surprised by the man that she is confronted with, as he has changed, and not for the better, allowing fame and fortune to change his entire outlook on life. He is now more focused on himself, instead of the love that he once had for his teammates and the love of the game. Her work is cut out for her, especially when Seraphina learns that the person that Seth’s heartstring leads to is a woman who works in a local place that helps kids in a low-income neighborhood to have opportunities at daycare and activities to keep them out of trouble. Seth grew up in a similar situation thanks to his grandmother taking him in at a young age and giving him the love of ice hockey. Seth has a lot to learn when it comes to wooing a woman who does not need or want all the expensive dinners and entertainment that he’s used to showing his dates but is more drawn into the love he shows the children. Will Seth be able to find his past self, and find joy in the simple things of life, or will he allow his fame and fortune to continue to blind him to the greater things in life, such as true love?

Malayeka (Heartstrings Series) by Brooke May – Review by Brandy Rymer

Malayeka (Heartstrings Book 3)Malayeka by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so fun to read, I loved that Malayeka was the cupid who got the feuding families, whom she had worked with when the feud had first begun ages before. It’s like the saying goes, things just keep coming around, well hopefully after this cupid works her magic, maybe the feud will finally come to an end but with love winning out this time. Malayeka has her hands full in this story, where she’s got to work with the Thomson family and the Reid family who are well known for their feuding town where each side of the road has matching businesses, but each side is run by the other family. Unfortunately for our cupid, the person she is tethered to is a Reid, and her heartstring leads to a Thomson. The two who are attached have had a secret friendship their whole lives that they have had to keep hidden from both families. The Thomson side of this romance has no problem telling his family how he feels, it’s the Reid side who values the love of her family and is too scared to speak up and stand up for the love that she hides deep down, where she thinks if ignored, it’ll just fade away into safety. This is where our cupid gets to come in and help guide these two into seeing how much better life would be if they’d just open up to the love, they have for one another and how much more healing it would be for everyone in the long run in the town. This was such a fun read that incorporates old-time teachings and morals but is based in a modern time. Will these families be able to get past their old-fashioned beliefs and allow their children to let their love for one another blossom, or will they drive the two love birds apart?

Faida (Heartstrings Series) by Brooke May – Review by Brandy Rymer

Faida (Heartstrings Book 2)Faida by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Faida is the second book in the Heartstrings series which features a very cynical cupid who has seen too much history of failed relationships in her time. Faida is one of Cupid’s helper cupids who is tethered to a single dad, who is a successful CEO of an ad company, who has been burned in love. His daughter’s mother was a multiple-time cheater, who decided she was better off leaving her daughter and her ex to live her life filled with men, drugs, and alcohol seeking the thrill of life instead of motherhood. This leaves a very sour taste toward love in the mouth of Robert, a single dad who devotes his entire life to his business and his daughter. This is where Faida comes in, to help Robert open his heart to the concept that not all women are as bad as his ex, and that not only does his daughter deserve a mom in her life, but he deserves love as well. Mika is Robert’s assistant, and the right hand of the business, who jumps at any request he has thrown at her. Mika has a soft spot in her heart for her boss as well as his daughter, but she’s too passive to speak up for what she wants. Will Faida be able to convince Robert that what he needs has been right in front of him the whole time, or will he allow his past issues with love to continue to keep his heart closed to romance? Not only do we get to watch Faida in her element, but we also get to meet some of the other cupids as well as they occasionally need to help one another out with their assignments. In the end, will Faida be able to help Robert open his heart, as well as find hope in romance once again?

Aiko (Heartstrings Series) by Brooke May – Review by Brandy Rymer

Aiko (Heartstrings #1)Aiko by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book puts a whole new twist to Cupid, in this first book in the Heartstrings book series. Aiko is one of the cupids that Cupid created after the needs of the human race and romance became too great for him alone. Aiko is a cupid whose specialty is failed romances, but with dire consequences that lead to her being put into restrictions repeatedly. She is finally released from her most recent restriction and allowed to find Alejandro’s (Al) true love by connecting his heartstrings to the love of his life. Aiko goes about this process like no other cupid, trying to utilize two different women to teach Al what it takes to catch and keep a good woman’s attention without embarrassing himself. This does not work how Aiko intended, in turn creating a bigger mess, which she then needs to work with Al to correct, hopefully before it’s too late, to make amends with the woman that Al is destined to be with. I loved all of the hilarity that befalls our cupid, as well as the person to whom she is tethered, and the experience of seeing all of the follies that come with finding love. This book combines humor, love, and dating all into a delightful new romance series that will leave you looking forward to the next book in the series.

Seraphina (Heartstrings Series) by Brooke May – Review by Angela Shirley

SeraphinaSeraphina by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Seraphina is a cupid, but not the slushy kind with the wings and the cupids bow. Oh no she is sassy and straight to the point, not quite like the other cupids but she is determined to show Seth that he can find love.

So Seth is a play boy hockey star who can has his pick of woman and does on a regular basis, but when Seraphina literally knocks him off his pedestal he starts to understand things and finds who he truly is and can be.

This is the fourth book in this series and although it is part of a series each book is unique enough to read as a stand alone story. Each books follows a Cupid and this one is Seraphina’s turn and she is a breath of fresh air to read. The character is quirky and un-apologetically in your face and I loved her as a character which worked well with the opposite character of Seth.

The secondary characters in this book add a level which keeps you reading as you delve more and more into the world of Seth and get to know him as a person rather than an Icon. As always the story is also full of good humour and brilliant writing and can’t wait to read more from this wonderful author and series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book, it was a light hearted romance that made me feel good. The story was about the Cupid Seraphina who has a second to help a prior client who did not find true love and happiness the first time. Seraphina is a different kind of Cupid at least she did not fit what I expected of a Cupid. She had some anger issues and really was not a people person, but that made me relate to her more as that could describe me. I enjoyed this book and will look for more from this author.

Seraphina (Heartstrings Book 4)Seraphina by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another entertaining and engaging romantic comedy story in this enjoyable YA series, where Cupids are sent to help humans find their perfect love match. I’ve enjoyed the previous books and so was looking forward to reading this one and I was once again hooked from start to finish. Seraphina has been given the test of her eternal life, to find hockey superstar Seth Maxwell his perfect love connection. This is the third time she has tried and she’s determined not to fail this time, but Seth will need a makeover. He’s well known for not being a team player and for being involved in numerous scandals with different starlets. Seraphina will need more than her mythical bow and arrow to help guide him to the love of his life, and keep her. This is a fun lighthearted read which kept me happily turning the pages, and I was once again lost in the world of Cupids helping humans to find love!

Seraphina (Heartstrings Series) by Brooke May – Review by Kerry Carr

SeraphinaSeraphina by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 4th book in The Heartstring Series. Even though this is the 4th book they can all be read as a standalone as each book focuses on a different Cupid, however I know that once youve read one you will want to read them all just like I did.

This story follow Searphina. I like her. She is a very no no nonsense character who is determined and very strong willed. She doesn’t let no one and nothing push her around and she needs that strength and determination to deal with her next assignment Seth Maxwell.

Searphina and Seth have had run ins before when Searphina matched him to his heart match and somehow he always manages to break the bond.

Now she has been assigned him again. And this time she is determined to make this one stick. But her task will not be easy.
Seth is now a star hockey player who has a overinflated sense of who he is and that translates to how he interacted with all people in his life.
Can Seraphine knock him off his pedestal long enough for him to realise the worth of a women he would normally never look twice at?

This is a battle between two very strong willed people which will have some funny moments. The road to true love never runs smoothly and when a Cupid’s involved you can guarantee it will be a rollercoaster.

Seraphina (Heartstrings Series) by Brooke May. This is such a fun series and they can all be read as standalones. I really enjoyed this one about Seraphina who ends up on the same guys doorstep for a third time and she is determined not to fail. Seth is a bad boy hockey player that thinks of no one but himself. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself but the thing is his grandma raised him better than that. Marron is just the opposite of Seth, she always thinks of others and she runs a non profit that helps provide kids with financial help for things they might not otherwise be able to afford. When this hockey player shows up to volunteer Marron is not excited. She knows he’s probably only doing it for the publicity. Seraphina is determined to make this match work but she knows she has her work cut out for her. Will the third time be the charm? Read this fun romance to find out!

The characters were nice but I just felt like something was needed and I couldn’t put my finger one it! Overall cute read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a quick and easy read that you can get through in one sitting. But, don’t let the number of pages fool you…there is a lot packed in this novella. When Daniel is left at the altar, his best friend, Joey, decides that they are going to make use of the non-refundable honeymoon tickets. What they don’t expect is the shenanigans they will find on their trip. Sara is enjoying her vacation when she comes across Daniel…bu things quickly go sideways between the chemistry between them and her job.

This book had me laughing out loud during some scenes. There is definitely a lot that happens in a short amount of time. I found myself getting through this story very fast and I was immersed into the story. Another good book by this author…looking forward to whatever they write next.

When you think of Cupid, what comes to mind automatically is love. This is the fourth book of the Heartstrings series following the case of Cupid Seraphina who is trying to help hockey star Seth find love…for the third time. Will the stars finally align for Seth or will this be another love-connection fail? I really enjoyed how this book gives depth to the characters while also giving the reader insight into the inner workings of Cupids and their own relationships! The story’s pacing was great and concise while also allowing the reader to fall into the plot and connect to the characters. You can easily read this as a standalone novel.

Enjoyable, sweet, fun and romantic read….I always enjoy C.A. King’s books and look forward to always reading more. What do you do when you are left at the alter with no explanation….of course go on the honeymoon that you should have enjoyed with non refundable tickets!!

Daniel is supposed to get married to his love, Claire, but is left at the alter with no word from his fiancee to any reason why. Daniel’s best friend, Joey, has a plan….go on the honeymoon to enjoy and have fun to forget the jilted wedding and have him tag along….

Sara is on her tropical vacation to enjoy her time….ready to take charge. Coming across Daniel, never expecting the sparks to fly and her take charge of what she finally wants. What happens when things fall all over the place with work, sparks and shenanigans?

See what happens next!! Fun read and highly recommended.

C.A. King has done it again! Tropic Heat (Flamingo Island Series) is a really fun read by C.A. King that brings all of the feels. To me it gives romcom vibes with all of the funny, sweet, good feels, and is an engaging story about a groom, a nonrefundable honeymoon, his best friend, and so much more. This is a novella-length book that can easily be read from the front cover to the back in one sitting. I thought this was an entertaining story, and even though it is short in pages it delivers the whole picture!
For the longest time I didn’t know if I could ever find an author that was as good as Janet Evanovich, and C.A. King has been that author for me! She doesn’t disappoint with her novels and is constantly bringing us fantastic books! I don’t think that you will be one bit disappointed to pick up a copy of Tropic Heat and find out what happens for yourself! I can’t wait to read more from C.A. King especially what happens with Daniel.

Aiko by Brooke May a sweet and salty read by Brooke May, and it was not what I was expecting, but it ended up being such a great surprise. I don’t like to do things the traditional way and decided to read this book after I had already read the fourth book of the series. I found that I adored Aiko, even during her most annoying times…lol! I found that I warmed up to her, I mean everyone has their run of bad luck, hers just seemed to be worse than others. This was a great story and one that I feel will hook you from the first page and not it won’t let you put it down until the last page. So, if you do decide to pick it up, make sure you have time to fully enjoy it!

Seraphina is the 4th book in the Heartstrings series by Brooke May. Although this is part of a series this is the first book I have read by this author and was able to read as a standalone. Seraphina is a cupid, sent by the actual Cupid to take on cases on earth and help two people find their love. When she is tasked with helping hockey player Seth, she finds herself facing a familiar challenge. She has attempted to help Seth twice before without success, but she is determined to get it right this time. She just needs to take the right approach. I liked this book; it was a fun premise and easy to read. I felt it could have been longer as it seemed that the characters personality switched really fast, but I was a fun romance story.

This is the fourth book in the series and you don’t have to read the other books before this one to understand what is going on. This is the first one that I have read in this series and it was such a cute quick read for me that I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series. I really like the idea of Cupid’s helpers and the whole romanticized idea that Cupid brings. This story has amazing characters that are quick witted, have a bit of a temper, and have growth for what is needed in this book. This book is realistic in the way that bot everything happens properly the first time and it might take a couple tries to get it right. I didn’t how much I would like that when it isn’t instant. This book was a really quick read for me as I couldn’t put it down because I needed to know what happened next. I highly suggest thus book if you are looking to just sink into a book and escape for a few hours. You won’t be disappointed in this choice.
