Auctioned Surrender (Sinful Duets #2)Auctioned Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Damian and Bryanna – Damian is a force to be reckoned with – a member of an elite team of bodyguards and with connections to mafia men. He is given an assignment to rescue a woman from a sex trafficking ring safely return her to her family. His capability is astounded and his reliability to complete his job is strong. However, Bryanna seems determined to fight him every step of the way – even fleeing Damian and returning to those who sold her into sex trafficking in the first place! Bryanna is keeping secrets of her own, is traumatized from her experiences, is very confused of who is good and who is bad…and is painfully attracted to Damian, who desires her like he has never desired someone this way before.

Lots of danger and drama, hot scenes and desires, and a fight for love…will Damian and Bryanna be able to come out the other side together?

Dereck and Layla
Dereck is a bodyguard involved in a sex trafficking case. Being involved in this case, he meets Layla.
Layla is a spicy and sassy exotic dancer who is virtually fearless and is capable of taking care of herself. She holds a secret close to her chest while on her mission. Without giving things away, there are many twists and turns in this book. They both have trouble trusting others. They both have secrets to protect. They both strive to protect others. In the midst of the sizzle from the chemistry, the danger from the traffickers Dereck is trying to bring down, the hunt Layla is on for the man who represents danger to her…will they be able to grow and open themselves to one another and see which explosive place their relationship may lead them? Will they continue to protect themselves and guard their secrets, or will they give each other the space to learn about one another and grow?

As with all previous Via Mari books I’ve read, these are such enjoyable reads. There’s heat, but it doesn’t overwhelm the story. There’s danger and drama, but it amps up passions as much as it amps up their heartbeats. There’s trauma, but it’s presented in a straightforward way that isn’t disrespectful of the indignities victims suffer. Each of the books I’ve read are fast paced and balances storylines nicely, without leaving things feeling undone. Prose is beautiful, descriptions are clear and easy to picture. The heat builds in each and the tension is palpable. As always, I’ll continue to follow Mari!

An entertaining and engaging romantic suspense novel which had me hooked from page one. Hollywood director Kai Serrano needs a Navy SEAL to be a consultant on her latest film, but she wasn’t expecting ‘every woman’s ideal military action hero’, Waters. Neither of them are looking for a relationship and Waters, a man with no identity, isn’t even allowed to have one. Waters realises that Kai is in danger when her brother goes missing following trouble on the set, including break-ins, thefts and accidents. Waters needs to figure out who she’s in danger from if he’s to protect her, and one suspect is her belittling executive producer. However, she could be leverage in her brother’s disappearance or she could unknowingly have something that she shouldn’t. As the couple try to figure it out they can’t ignore their mutual attraction and the growing connection they share. This is a fast paced, action packed story with plenty of drama, suspense and of course romance. The chemistry between Kai and Waters sizzles off the page, and I love how their relationship develops throughout the story. The storyline had me gripped and the plot twists kept me guessing as to the outcome of the story. This is book one of a new series and I look forward to reading book two.

Good Enough is the first book in The Deadman’s Tribe Series by Nicole Craig. We follow Kai Serrano. Kai is a Hollywood director who needs consulting from Navy SEALS. When her brother calls in a favor she ends up working alongside Waters. Soon they find themselves wondering if Kai’s life is in danger and does it have anything to do with her missing brother. I thought this was a pretty good romance suspense. Plenty was going on to keep you guessing and clues to keep you intrigued. I enjoyed the dynamic between Waters and Kai. There was good chemistry. They were fun. I thought this was a really good start to the series.

This was a good read. I really enjoyed the team very much and thought they had good group chemistry. I liked the characters in the book and felt that they kept you interested in the plot. The banter between the characters felt organic and not overly done in a way that didn’t feel authentic. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is a fantastic book. I found it to be both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. Kai and Waters have powerful chemistry together that make this story cohesive. I love how well the story is written. The danger appears on the set to Kai and Waters and his team are right there to protect her. The characters are very well-thought out and developed. I can’t wait to read more in this series and see where it goes.

Some stories move at a natural pace but then the climax/ending gets slammed into the shortest time frame possible and feels rushed. Not this story. Equal pace through the entire book. I love it!

Waters and Kai are two very strong individuals. These two are just working together on the production of a movie. However, it is their first meeting when the sparks fly. I love their secret insta-attraction and how they try to fight their feelings. Waters is a Military guy, Navy Seal to be exact. Currently he works for The Tribe, which is a group of Navy Seals who work secret assignments trying to right the wrongs around the world. Kai is an up and coming Hollywood producer who takes no crap from anyone, respects those who respect her and is in general a good person who works hard. Kai is sent to The Tribe looking for a consultant to help with her film. Little does she know what is waiting for her over the next 3 months. 3 months is the time span of this entire book. This author throws all the feelings into that time frame. Love, light, despair, lust, anger, laughter.

This is the first book by this author and the first in the series entitled Deadman’s Tribe. Looking forward to reading more from this author and about this Tribe.

This is a great way to start a series. I am all for the protective male lead and being in the military is a plus. This book is more than just a romance book, it has action, suspense, romance, twists and turns, and over all just a fast paced page turner. It draws you into the story and then keeps you hang on the words at the end of every page. I couldn’t put it down and ended up reading it in one day. This book is one where you just snuggle into a comfy blanket and spend the day swept away by the words on the pages. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one in the series. I have a feeling that the character developments and story lines will only get better and better with each book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After reading Shadowed Obsession I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into this and I was not disappointed!

Regan and Pavlo have a strained relationship and Regan would rather die alone on a stranded island than share space with Pavlov but her publicist throws them together for a book tour and I’ll be honest there’s something dodgy about this publicist and I would get a new one but that’s just me , anyhoo , let me not loose focus here 🙈🤣😉

Regan is a romance writer while Pavlov is more serious and Regan also has a daughter with a serious heart condition and she’s doing everything in her power to get the Jehovah help she needs ….

Someone is threatening Regan , they want her to give a private signing and she’s not being bullied into it and I must give it to get she’s a brave girl 😉 she stands her ground …..

There’s alot going on and I was on the edge of my seat a lot of the time but rest assured there’s a HEA in the horizon 🥰😉

Auctioned Surrender (Sinful Duets #2)Auctioned Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I cannot get enough of Via Mari’s books. She is quickly becoming an automatic author for me. I absolutely loved the second installment of her Sinful Duets collection (remember…there are two books in here: Auctioned and Relentless) and I am eagerly awaiting the release of the third installment. As with the first collection, I could not put this collection down. Mari quickly entraps her readers and submerses them into the lives of her characters and she doesn’t let you come up for air until it’s all over. I love the dual POV that we get with each book…seeing the timeline from each main character’s perspective is one of my favorite things. I also really enjoy how each of these books are tied together; however, they can be read as standalones. She gives you enough information and explanation without repeating the entire previous story but if you’ve read the previous stories you get to see the characters you’ve fallen in love with and what they’re up to now. These books are *spicy*, suspenseful, angsty, emotional, and eventually happily ever after. Definitely a must read!

Kai is directing a Hollywood film and requires a consultant but not just any a Navy Seal who can guide her through the processes she requires. She did not expect Waters every girls dream but she does not need the distraction and keeps things professional until things starts happening on the set with things going missing and when it is escalated to kidnap, she has to riley on Waters to protect and solve the mystery.

Waters is an enigma, a Navy Seal with no real identity when he said yes to the consulting gig he thought it would be plain sailing, but with his attraction to the director and odd things happening his protection side kicks in and tries to help resolve the issues until it becomes clear someone is after Kai and they are not going to stop until he stops them.

Oh my lord this book packs a punch, what more could a woman need but a sexy, hot Navy Seal with Alpha tendencies. Although this is the authors first book, I have to say it was well written and the characters where well developed and jumped off the page.

The story was full of twists and turns and drives you to keep reading to the very end, especially with the interactions between the characters is a joy to read. As it says in the blurb there are instances of violence which may cause triggers for some readers and be mindful of that when choosing but for me this story was full of grit and power and loved every word of it.

I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and met more of the Deadman’s Tribe.

Isabella is heading back home in order to keep a promise she made her father. He asked to be buried in their homeland and now that he has passed, Isabella is heading back. After escaping the dangerous and chaotic life she was involved in, she now has a huge bounty on her head and no idea who put it there. She doesn’t know who to trust as even her friends, or who she thought were friends, are acting strangely. This was a fast paced book that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The twists and turns keep you turning the pages and hoping that Isabella and Tom make it out unscathed. I have gone about reading this series by reading the last book and then the middle, but I didn’t feel too lost. I feel as though these are alright to be read as stand alone stories, however there are some instances where it would have been helpful to read the previous books for more of a back story. In any case, this was a great book.

I love a good romantic suspense story that can pull me in from page one. This story had it all action, drama, romance and characters you can connect with easily. This author is new but I’m already excited for more. The characters pull you so completely into their world making it almost impossible to put the book down until the last page. It’s got a fast pace with a lot going on but the author does a great job of keeping it in a very clear story that makes you sink into it. I know the year has just started but this book is already in my top reads for it. Five stars and can’t wait to see where this author takes us next.

Good Enough is Book 1 in Thea Deadman’s Tribe series and also a debut novel….This was such a great read and I can say I am already looking forward to more from this author and series. I love a good romantic suspense story that give me the twists, turns and drama with some sizzling moments. The author delivered of what I love in reading a story like this. A hot Navy SEAL and a very strong leading lady full of sass as well as the connection and chemistry between Waters and Kai is truly undeniable. Danger, intrigue, romance and the banter!!

Kai is a strong, independent film director with no filter and holds nothing back. She wants to direct a film that is accurate in details and hires a Navy SEAL to consult with. Waters is not initially looking forward to being the Navy SEAL to consult with over a film, but as Waters gets to know Kai on a work level, he is quite impressed, but he will always be a protector with his radar on high alert at all times. Waters feels like he is on alert knowing that Kai may be in danger, especially when her brother is missing…..what happens next and will Kai ever feel like she is good enough…

I do not want to give spoilers but this is a great read. There is so much details that has you at the edge of your seat turning the pages to see what happens next in the story. I love the dual POV in this story and I cannot wait to see what is next!!

This is the third book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone. I didn’t pay close attention and read this one first, so I was pleased to find that I wasn’t lost without the first two books. I plan on picking them up soon though because this was an amazing read! I feel that I am pretty good at predicting what will happen in most books, but this one was a rollercoaster of unpredictable twists and turns. The flow of the story is magnificent, and I enjoyed the non-stop action and adventure. I don’t want to give anything away here, but please don’t skip this book! I love a good book with some military action, suspense, and even a bit of romance. I love the cover of this book. However, I did not love this book.

First, let’s talk about what I did love about it though. As previously mentioned, I love the cover. It’s intriguing and I want to know more about the people on it. I love stories with a military focus. They have always fascinated me and the fact that this one is talking about the roles of Navy SEALS had me intrigued. I like action, suspense and romance too. All of those things were in this book.

What I didn’t like and couldn’t get past in this story was the language. I couldn’t even finish this book because the language was so incredibly strong. I know that with a military read to expect strong language but this was entirely overkill. I couldn’t finish this book because of this. I had such high hopes for this story based on the premise but I don’t talk like this in my daily life and I don’t want to read a book that has such vile language just about every other word.

There are many favorable reviews over this author’s debut book so I’d encourage them to read those reviews (I wish I had before I picked this one up). You might end up enjoying this story but it wasn’t for me.

When I started reading this book, I expected a fairly exciting read with a focus on the romantic story. What ai actually got felt like so much more. The story is fast paced, action packed and a brilliant read right from the word go. It was so well developed and the author got the pace of the story just right.
I loved reading about these characters. Their connection was instant and really carried them through everything going on. The plot was full of twists and turns at every stage, which really made the book so much more exciting. As the first book in a series, this shows such potential and I cannot wait to get my hands on the next ones.

Be aware that this story could cause triggers. It contains a violent assault.
Good Enough is Nicole Craig’s debut book and the first book in the romantic suspense series Deadman’s Tribe. This is one author to look out for. I see good things for her.
It is great start to what promises to be a great series. I do love me some good alpha sexy military-security Navy SEAL men stories. Nicole seamlessly weaved a fast-paced twisty plot and multiple storylines that leaves you breathless right the way through. The story flowed effortlessly and seamlessly show casing just how good this author is at telling a great story.
Good Enough is filled with intrigue, danger, tension and suspense that jumps from the page leaving me engrossed with every twist and turn.
I loved the fully developed, complex and well written strong characters, the alpha men of the Deadman team, the loyalty, the comradery and banter and the strong heroine often had me laughing.
The story is engaging is at times heartfelt, heartbreaking and heartwarming. I am not giving away any spoilers I want you to discover Nicole’s work in all its glory for yourselves.

This is book 1 in the Deadman’s Tribe series and also the author’s debut novel. This was a amazing read. I was gripped from the beginning and it didn’t let me go. The author does an amazing job with the story, the twists and turns really made this a story I couldn’t stop reading and the characters were so well developed I couldn’t help but be dragged into their story.
The main characters were well matched. Our leading male was everything I love in a leading man, strong, protective, determined to protect no matter the cost and what I also loved is that our leading lady is just as determined and can take care of herself. She is certainly not someone who will wait for a man to come and save her which only makes her more appealing to our leading man.

Kai Serrano is a Hollywood director who needs the assistance of a Navy SEAL for her film to make it as real as possible. When she meets Waters the spark between them starts from the first meeting but she is too busy to be distracted by a man even one that takes her breath away.

Waters feels the connection too but he isn’t pleased when he is put forward as the candidate to assist her but something isn’t right and Waters and his boss both sense it.
When filming starts things start to happen. Accidents on set happen more than they should, things go missing and to top it all Kai’s brother gets kidnapped.
Waters feels that Kai is in danger but from what or who is the problem. Now he has to use all his expertise to protect her even though she can’t see the danger around her. Can they work together to solve the mystery of who wants her and why without losing themselves to the chemistry and fire between them?

This is a fast paced, action packed suspense romance that I couldn’t put down. I am really looking forward to seeing what the author has in store for us next.

Good Enough is the first book in The Deadman’s Tribe and debut novel by Nicole Craig. I was immediately hooked by the blurb of this book, not realising that it was the author’s debut novel. I had already let my ‘one-click’ finger loose and snapped up a copy before I realised that this was the author’s first book. That made me even more curious to see what she could do. So I found a comfy spot, coffee in hand, and set off on the ’adventure’.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by what I found- engrossed in the story right from the get-go, I wasn’t even halfway through when I decided that I would definitely be keeping a close eye on Ms. Craig and will pounce on anything else she releases.
This proved to be a cleverly woven story with a multilayered storyline. Ms. Craig crafted a superb romantic suspense with a protective alpha-type MC, a strong & sassy FMC, a security/military element, with plenty of dramatic developments, twists & turns, chemistry, sparks, connection, danger, violence, tension, intrigue, intensity, mystery, secrets, action, humour, emotion, and more. I loved how well-developed the characters were, and how they were masterfully constructed into fully-realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. I loved the cheeky, funny banter, quips, and the team/character’s camaraderie. Getting an alternating, duel POV added depth and intrigue to the story, and I loved being privy to the characters inner dialogue- it really added an extra element of interest to the whole story.
This first book has definitely given me a taste for more, and I can’t wait to find out more about the tribe as the series progresses.
If you love protective alpha-types, a military/security team vibe, romantic suspense with an engrossing storyline, chemistry, and sparks- then you will definitely want to grab a copy of this to explore…
Bring on ‘Bad Enough’ (Book #2 – which is TB’s story).
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Nicole Craig!

Kai Serrano, Hollywood director, needs a Navy SEAL to be a consultant on her next film. What she neither needs, nor wants, is to be distracted by him, even if he is every woman’s ideal military action hero.

Waters is a man with no identity. Even if someone knew his real name, it would only lead them to a dead man. He cannot afford to get distracted by an attractive, sassy director. Relationships are not allowed, even if he wanted one.

Kai and Waters work well together, but there’s trouble brewing on the set. Items are going missing, accidents are on the rise, and Kai’s office and living space have been broken into. To top it all off, now her brother is missing, but it’s unclear if he’s been kidnapped or hiding out.

It’s clear Kai is in danger, but from whom? Is it her executive producer who attempts to belittle her at every turn? Is she leverage in her brother’s disappearance? Or does she unknowingly have something she shouldn’t?

With the stakes this high, are Kai and Waters good enough to figure out what’s going on without falling for each other in the process?

Trigger Warning: This book contains a violent assault. Content throughout is for mature readers.

This was definitely a unique way of having a book set up. It’s been a while since I’ve read a book that’s purposely set up to have two books inside of it that weren’t originally published on their own. (Unless they were, and I missed the memo on it). That being said, I highly enjoyed the(se) book(s), and I absolutely adored the chemistry between the characters that. I love this author’s works, and every time I see a new release for their books, I always make sure to snatch it up and recommend it to everyone.

Just like with every book I’ve read by this author, I found myself absolutely GLUED to my kindle with both this one and the first one. Both sets of the character romances we get to watch unfold are top tier. Just like with most books I’ve read by this author, I highly recommend, especially if you’re a mafia fan. Auctioned Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Candida Hopper

Auctioned Surrender (Sinful Duets #2)Auctioned Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Both of these books kept me glued to the pages and I had a hard time putting them down. This author never fails to amaze me with her writing style and ability to pull me into the stories.
Bryanna and Damien’s story. Damien works for an elite security team and he is tasked to find Bryanna. Damien had no idea that he would feel so strongly toward her when he found her. Bryanna would do anything to keep her family safe. She wants to trust Damien but doesn’t know if she can. This is a must read to find out what happens.
Dereck and Layla’s story. When Dereck was asked to do a favor he definitely wasn’t prepared to encounter a feisty woman. Layla doesn’t trust anyone and she will do anything to save her sister and friend. The chemistry between these is undeniable. I don’t want to give anything away so I’m just going to say this is a must read. Both of these stories have great characters, suspense, romance, danger and more. I highly recommend reading this.

Auctioned Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Beverly Finnie

Auctioned Surrender (Sinful Duets #2)Auctioned Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another set of books by this author that didn’t disappoint! The Sinful Duets books suck you in and your hook. Auctioned Surrender is made up of Books Auctioned and Relentless. I read the first duet in this series and just like that one these books overlap. Stories being told simultaneously while also being connected to one another.
Auctioned is Damian and Bryanna’s story. Damian’s been tasked to track down a client’s kidnapped niece. And when he finds her he realizes there’s a bigger war at hand. Which leads them both to battle sex trafficking in New Orleans. Which will Keep Bryanna’s family safe.
Can Damian stay professional?
Can Bryanna actually keep her family safe?
Well those questions and so many more come to mind while reading the first book in the duet. More so once you start book 2.
Relentless finds the reader following Layla and Dereck’s story. Dereck was asked a favor to help protect Bryanna. He wasn’t expecting Layla to get under his skin. Layla is hesitant and worried, Dereck is a little too close for comfort and he could ruin everything. At the same time she would like to do everything she can to help her friend!
In regard to Layla, how deep is too deep?
Can Dereck hold his attraction to Layla as bay, while they end up battling sex trafficking at home in Chicago?
You can’t read one without the other. You’ll be missing so much. Which could leave confusion. I know each book’s main focus is a different set of characters but the way this is written the chara are so intertwined that you can’t read one without the other.
Despite the heavy topics it’s definitely worth the read. So what are you waiting for time to go check it out!

Auctioned Surrender (Sinful Duets #2)Auctioned Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Auctioned Surrender by Via Mari is the second book in a Dark Mafia Romance Duet. There are two stories in this book. The first follows Damian and Bryanna. Bryanna has fallen into a trafficking ring and Damian is the body guard assigned to get her out. Their romance is suspenseful and fast paced. The characters will have you rooting for them the whole way. The second story follows Dereck and Layla. Layla is a fiery exotic dancer who is fierce and determined. She wants to save her sister and the other girls who have fallen prey to the trafficking ring. But she doesn’t know who she can trust. Dereck will do everything in his power to gain her trust and help her. These stories are SPICY and absolutely will make you weak in the knees 5 out of 5 stars!

Motherland (The Tom Grant Series Book 3) by Samantha Adair – Review by Amanda Swindle

Motherland (Tom Grant #3)Motherland by Samantha Adair
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book in the Tom Grant series and I really liked the continuous action with twists and turns all the way through. This is my first book by this author and was able to read it as a standalone, even though it is the third book, but I will be going back to read the others to see if there is any further character development or backstory to enhance this read. There were a couple instances where I was lost or confused on details, so that is why I want to go back and read the others (plus it is a really good story!). In this book, Isabella’s father has passed away and she plans to take his body back to her homeland of Belarus, a country bordered by Russia and Ukraine. This alone is dangerous since Isabella has a bounty for her capture, and she is not sure who put the bounty on her or why. When circumstances brings a childhood friend back into her life, things are not as they seem, and he is not the same boy she remembers. Threats against Tom makes her delve back into the life she had thought she left behind, and now she has to find her escape in a dangerous world where even her friends may not be trusted.
