Ride For Me (The North Shore Crew Book 1) by Vi Summers – Review by Michelle Austin

Ride For Me (North Shore Crew Series, Book 1)Ride For Me by Vi Summers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ride For Me was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning.
This is Gage and Lil’s story.

Lil is part of a group of friends that call themselves “The Crew”, one night during a get together Mace’s cousin Gage joins them. There is something about him that pulls Lil in and when they touch there is a definite spark. I had a LOL moment when they first see each other. Gage can feel the connection with Lil but his tragic past is keeping him from fully giving into his attraction to her at first.

What will happen when he finally gives in? Will Lil’s past ruin things for them?

Overall this was a great read and I LOVED all of the characters and their personalities. My emotions were all over the place. And the ending, all I can say is OMG. The author does a great job with her writing and I can’t wait to read more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

5/5 Stars

Ride For Me (North Shore Crew #1) by Vi Summers

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. Summers sure knows how to captivate the reader’s attention. I was hooked from the beginning.

Lil is the twin of Mickey(Josh). When she meets Gage she isn’t sure what to make of him. He kisses her one second, but pushes her away the next second. As time passes on things get better between them. The quote I chose for Lil is: “F*** you, Jono, you sicko. They’ll find me soon, then you’ll be sorry you set your hands on me.”

Gage moved up from his hometown to get away from the past. When he meets Lil and falls hard for her he doesn’t know what to do. The quote I chose for Gage is: “Just over three years ago, I was in a relationship that…ended…very abruptly. It wasn’t expected, and some days I feel like I haven’t gotten over it at all. But what you need to know is that I haven’t been in a relationship of any sort since then. Even the mere thought used to make me physically sick. I never wanted to have a relationship again. Ever again. I just, I don’t know what it is about you, but you…F***. For whatever reason, I’m drawn to you no matter how much I don’t want to be. You’re like the dawn of a new day after a thousand years spent in darkness; the very place I’ve become accustomed to living in. You would never be ‘just another notch on my belt’, as you put it, and it’s hard to ignore what naturally seems to be between us. Plus, it’s baffling the hell out of me. What’s even more confusing is that I’m not even sure I want to ignore it. I just don’t f***ing know.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.

This book is so relatable. I really had a very personal connection to this series. I had everything I could think of then lost due to circumstances. Marcy lost it because of her anger and pride in not wanting to get help. Possible trigger warning for some people.

The Marcy Series Box Set by Linda J. Burson – review by Erica Shoebridge

The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3 by Linda Burson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a very intense trilogy. Marcy is increasingly shown to us to be an unreliable narrator, in that we aren’t sure that what she is perceiving (and what she is narrating) is actually happening. She is troubled by haunting dreams, has extensive confusion, and has trouble telling the difference between reality and her dreamworld. Both Brad and Liam seem very suspect, with high emotion and controlling mentalities. The style of writing also conveys a wonky mental state. Even when a conversation is happening between Marcy and one of the men, it has a quality of recounting a memory; it doesn’t read like the event is quite happening in real time. While I can see how using that voice feeds into the depiction of her skewed world, personally I found it difficult to wrap my head around, and a bit unsettling to read. This is a very unique and emotionally intense set of books with an intriguing framework.

Ride For Me (The North Shore Crew Book 1) by Vi Summers – Review by Amy Brennan

Ride For Me (North Shore Crew Series, Book 1)Ride For Me by Vi Summers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lil and Gage have that special something that most grown women dream of, wish for, and deem ‘relationship goals.’ Despite their previous relationships that ended in tragedy, and the initial need to fight that zing that they both feel, they cautiously explore a friendship, and recognize the potential that could have them be so much more. I felt as though Vi Summers did an amazing job introducing the reader on The North Shore Crew members, their different connections, and the lifelong friendships that they’ve shared. They are each other’s chosen family, and the drama and growth that each of them goes through and their support system leaves the reader wanting and appreciating their friendships as well. I absolutely adore the connection that Lil and her brother Josh ‘Mickey’ share, how we see how the two main characters deal with their own grief and losses, and encourage the reader to be stronger, and to appreciate the little things.

The only thing was that I felt as though the book was a wee bit long. The first half does tend to drag a bit, only because it’s a lot of build up to Lil and Gage’s HEA. Once you hit the 50% mark, things start to really pick up, and the reader is drawn in, if anything like me, and finishing the remainder of the book in one sitting. There are a lot of raw emotions, some graphic events, lots of love, care, and sincerity. A++ from this avid reader, very much looking forward to indulging in more by this author, specifically Break for Me, where we’ll get to dive into Mace and Jess’s adventure!

Power packed with emotion! This book gets you from the start. Gage and Lil both come into the story with history. Written with amazingly well -written characters, the plot keeps you engaged with the main and supporting characters. They will go through good times, rough times and very challenging times. What makes the relationship is that they come through it together. They are there to support each other and get through it. The crew is all there for each other. This is one heck of book. I can’t wait to get out and get the rest of the series. Ms. Summers can write books that keep you locked in. Highly recommend.

Ride For Me (North Shore Crew Series, Book 1)Ride For Me by Vi Summers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ride For Me is the first book in the North Shore Crew series by Vi Summers. The North Shore Crew are a group of best friends who have been friends since childhood and still best of friends. I had never read any of this author’s work before but I was intrigued by the blurb of this book and decided it was worth giving it a try. I’m so glad that I decided to take a chance on this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This first book gives us the story of Lil. Lil is the life and soul of the party and is recovering from a very bad break up. Gage comes to stay with his cousin who is one of the crew. He has heartbreak in his past and it trying to move on with his life and he’s shocked by the reaction that he has to meeting Lil.
This is not some cheesy romance story, there is so much more going on in this book. It has danger and mystery and intrigue to add to the romance and I was really gripped by the storyline of this book.
The thing I loved most about this book is the friendship, love and camaraderie that the crew all have for each other. This is such a tight knit group and I loved reading about them and can’t wait to read more from this series.

If you have never read anything by Linda Burson, do yourself a favor and start with this boxed set. I can promise you, you will not even be finished with book one (Rage) before you are craving more of this series. This book series has a little bit of everything and stirs up just about every human emotion. Some characters are lovable, some you love to hate but the coolest part is seeing the evolvement as the series progresses. I have lost track of how many times the characters frustrated me beyond belief. What blows my mind the most about this series is that each book is even better than the last. I can’t stress enough how much I recommend this series, or Linda Burson’s writing in general.

THE MARCY SERIES BOXSET: BOOKS 1-3 by Linda J. Burson – Review by Kerry Carr

The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3 by Linda Burson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

These was a great boxset. I really enjoyed all these books and how they are a progression following our main character Marcy.

Book one is Rage. This was a whirlwind story following Marcy as she deals with the uncontrollable rage she suffers with the world. Why does she feel this way? What has turned her into this angry person?  With her rage overtaking her life and her risking losing her friends and her boyfriend she knows she needs to get help. Through her rage she comes to the attention of Liam. Liam sees something in Marcy and believes she is what he needs for his mission to get revenge on his families killers. This connection between them takes them on a journey neither expect.

Book 2 is Confusion. This is the perfect title for this book as Marcy is in a constant state of confusion over who she should be with. So she had relationships with both Brad and Liam. Both men love her in different ways but how long will they be willing to share her. And when that time comes can she choose between them.
Add to this the secrets and revelations that keep showing up about Marcy’s past. She knows if she shares her past she can start to heal. But she is unsure whether or not to do that.
Brad and Liam both have their own problems and confusion as well with keeps this story gripping and keeps the reader turning pages.

Book 3 is Agony and Ecstay. This book follows on from book 2 pretty much straight away which means the story flows seamlessly.
We are back with Marcy. Still torn between Bard and Liam, she is now engaged to Liam. However she can’t deny her feelings for Brad. When will the crunch time come for her to make a decision once and for all about who she will be with. I can’t really say much without giving the story away. What I will say is that the truth behind Marcys nightmares comes to light, revenge is finally met and secrets are revealed which could blow Liam and Marcy’s relationshop apart and send her running back to Brad.

This book set has been an enjoyable journey from the start and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series to fully complete the journey.

This box set includes the first three books from this series (which at the time of this review, the series has thirteen books total).
An important thing you have to know going into this is that our subconscious mind operates behind the scenes 24/7 and exerts influence over every aspect of our daily life. When you read these books with that understanding, you can truly grasp what is happening with Marcy.
From the context of understanding how our brain influences us without us consciously being aware of it, you can see how behavior is actually communication. I think this is the key concept in getting the most out of these stories.
I enjoyed reading these books. They evoke a lot of emotional response and worm their way into your head so you find yourself thinking about them even when you’re not reading.

Ride For Me (The North Shore Crew, #1)Ride For Me by VR Baucke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The first book in The North Shore Crew series, Ride for Me by VR Baucke has you hooked from the very first chapter! The book started out a bit confusing due to the prologue being set four months in the future, but as the book continues everything slowly started to make sense and made me want to keep reading it more and more.

The perfect ‘opposites attract’ friends to lovers story, Lil and Gage have both dealt with heartache and loss, making an interesting spin on the story. There were definitely times that I was tempted to yell at my phone as I was reading it, getting frustrated with the men in the story. If you read it, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

This was my first read by VR Baucke, but certainly won’t be my last! I am excited to eventually read the other books in this series.

Gabe has been just existing at the moment, finding a little solace in life but when a meeting with his cousin presents him with another option to live his life has he the guts to let anyone back into his broken heart.

This is a well written story with the chemistry of the two main characters jumping off the page. With the history of Gabe you feel like he is totally broken but have hope that he will be brought back to life and he is with Lil. The story is a slow burn between these two and offers a great read with emotion and hope.

I can’t wait to read the next book in this wonderful series.

THE MARCY SERIES BOXSET: BOOKS 1-3 by Linda J. Burson

4 of 5 Stars

These are the first three novels in this series by Linda J. Burson. The series tells us the story of Marcy Jenson. Marcy is a young, independent entrepreneur. Marcy opened her own bakery about 2.5 years ago. Marcy thought she was living the good life. She was in a steady relationship with Brad, the man she knew she was going to marry. The bakery was doing well, so well she needed to add additional help. The only issue was that Marcy started to have uncontrollable rage. All of her friends were concerned. One night, Marcy stopped at a random gas station to get gas on her way home. This fuel stop changed the course of Marcy’s life. After, a stranger came into Marcy’s life. Liam is tall, strong, handsome and dangerous. Was he truly a stranger? Was he dangerous for Marcy? Can this stranger help Marcy with her rage?

In Rage, we get to know each of the characters and start to understand all their reasons for feeling the rage burning inside of them.

In Confusion, Marcy, Brad and Liam are thrown as the emotional toll of dealing with their rage bubbles to the surface.

In Agony and Ecstasy, life for Marcy, Liam and Brad has appeared to smooth out. Happiness appears just around the corner. But, we all know that there can be anything around that corner, especially dark shadows of the past.

I found myself talking out loud to the characters, telling them to stop, breathe, think about what they were doing. I questioned their choices. I rooted for their victories. I cried with them. I was pulled into Marcy’s world deeper and deeper with every page. My emotions ran so deeply that I had to put my phone down and walk away a couple of times. I thought I could walk away from Marcy, Liam and Brad but I was drawn back to them time and time again. This is a series that I have to finish.

Each book gives its only personal feel story wise and Marcy herself is easy to understand and identify with in a sense. You will feel a great deal of emotions as you read thru each book, but and you root for Marcy to find her way, but the deeper you drive you have to wonder where things will lead. I highly recommend these books, and can say Linda Burson is an author I will gladly explore again.

Ride For Me (The North Shore Crew Book 1) by Vi Summers had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The entire crew for this series is just fantastic, and her plot really makes you feel for some of the characters. But boy oh boy does this story have it all, it has drama, it has laughter, it definitely has steaminess, and so much more. But most of all there are so many twists and turns to this book that you have no idea what comes next. Ms. Summers definitely hooked her readers with this one and this reader for one can’t wait for the rest of the series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was very mature in both writing style and plot. As a recently acclaimed adult (20 as of a few weeks ago) I found this book to be hard to connect to until a little farther in. The writing style is exactly what I look for! But talking about divorce and having adult children and fund-raising projects, made it a little less connectable for me, but after the plot got going, I did not care! I was up until 2 a.m. so I could finish!

Liz was having such a hard time between her friends and her ex-husband that visiting the little summer town of Red River was exactly what she needed. But it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for a while. But Matt, his daughter Sarah, and Liz’s daughter Lauran make it as enjoyable as they can for her. It warmed my heart everytime they would crack a joke or mention Charley. Marsha R. West certainly has a way with words that allows even people with few life experiences begin to connect with her characters!

The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3 by Linda Burson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This trilogy is one of the most addictive and suspenseful drama’s I have ever read. The three book in the series is Rage, Confusion and Agony and Ecstasy. Linda Burson delivers a crafty and superbly written mystery that I was powerless to part from. You become instantly immersed in the characters and their lives and your life will be more content and fulfilled having read them.

Rage is book 1 in the Marcy Series written by Linda Burson. Rage is the first book by this author that I have read. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and free flowing drama that made up this story.

Marcy was a complex character in many ways, but very simple in others. She also was dramatically erratic. That just made her more endearing. I did not warm to the love of her life quickly or completely. I think he has something he is hiding. Liam is a total different matter entirely. He was a puzzle just busting to be solved. There were many ups and downs throughout, and I lost my way a little, but overall it was a mighty fine read. The story flowed reasonably well, with intrigue, mystery and lots of action. This book was very active and the characters were a delight to get to know.

Linda Burson penned an entertaining and fast paced story, with suspense aplenty. A thoroughly splendid story which will leave a reader hungry for more from this author.

The tantalising trio are back in Confusion, book 2 in the Karcy series by Linda Burson. I sank into this story as I was intrigued by these characters and wondered what this author had in store for us readers this time.

Marcy, Brad and Liam led me on quite the mission, with ke having no idea of the outcome of Confusion. Marcy was her usual endearing self, Liam just got more attractive and sensual. But Brad annoyed me no end. His character was needed to spice up the drama, but he just appeals to me less and less. I will always have ky heart set on Marcy and Liam together as a couple, and Brad just cramps that style.

Linda Burson added so much to this series with slightly loony characters and the twisty, thrilling mystery to each chapter kept me entertained for hours. I cannot wait for number three.

This melodramatic tale that entwines three exceptional characters comes to a stunning conclusion in Agony and Ecstasy. The quality in which Linda Burson has written this mesmerizing series is captivating and never lacks intensity. This high energy reading experience will be hard to beat.

For Marcy, Liam and Brad, the rollercoaster that is life seems to be on a continuous loop, with no hint of it ever calming down. There were a lot of nail biting moments, and a lot of tears shed. A thoroughly absorbing escape from reality that left quite a profound impression.

This book and series is truly a fabulous read, and one I can highly praise. 4 stars.

Fantastic book!! This is my first book reading from Author Vi Summers but definitely will not be my last! I loved this dual POV story of Lil and Gage. When they first meet there is instant sparks and they are drawn to each other. There are dark moments, especially in Gage’s past. He holds back and has not gotten close to anyone in a few years. When you finally find out what Gage went through in his past and what happened….my heart just ached for his character. I loved Lil’s character, strong, bold and wont change for anyone. She has a bumpy past too, with an ex-fiancee that was not who he seemed to be. When Lil get this feeling of being “watched” and eventually kidnapped, Gage will go to the ends of the earth to save Lil. I was at the edge of my seat especially finding out who this mystery person was. This is a great story full of love, loss and suspense. I cannot wait to continue this series. Fantastic read!!

Tainted by Marsha R. West is a fantastic romantic suspense story that really keeps the pages turning. The author has done such a good job of building this story up, page by page, drawing you in and completely capturing your attention. The way she has written the characters, to me, has made them so much more real and engaging. I felt like I really got to know them throughout the book and got to experience everything they were.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really think it has given me a great insight into the way she writes and connects with the reader. This is my first time reading this author. I enjoyed the story and how her high school love came full circle back into her life. Having lived in TX and NM for a couple of years each, I had to laugh at her description of the scenery during her drive from Ft. Worth to Red River. It was spot on! Made me feel like I was in the car riding along and thinking, “Will this trip ever end?!” LOL

I liked the characters and felt like she presented them in a realistic way. It’s hard not to be tainted by something your significant other does to the degree of a federal crime. Ms. West did a wonderful job of describing the struggles of overcoming and becoming your own person. It’s easier to heal when you are surrounded by people who believe in you.

But when she meets a mysterious stranger, and things with Brad fall apart, Marcy and Liam start to explore their relationship. Getting mixed up in Liam’s plot for revenge, Marcy finds herself on a path she never imagined.

These stories are good. I enjoyed the characters, especially Liam. However, there was a lot of times I felt the story moved at too slow of a pace and scenes that could have been shortened or removed altogether. Marcy is very wishy washy in her relationships, and her thoughts are all over the place. The conversations between characters were not realistic, as no one really talks like they do in these stories, which made some of it seem forced.

The Marcy Series has a good premise, and I would recommend reading it. The action scenes are fantastic and I kept reading to find out what happened with Liam’s revenge plot. 3/5 stars.

I really enjoyed this story. The author does an amazing job of keeping the reader gripped by making the story engaging and eventful. The main character Liz and her daughter have gone through a lot but the author makes their bond and how close they are shine throughout the story.

After Liz ex husband Gerry is arrested for money laundering it turns Liz’s life upside down. Now being tarred with the same brush as him she can’t go anywhere without people stopping and staring. So she decides to get away for a while and with her daughter then head to Red River.
This is where Liz’s story really starts when she finds out her old boyfriend is the Marshall of the town.
The old flame reignites  between them but with Liz’s past bringing danger to the quiet town can they survive it.
The romance in this story gets steamy to a point then stops which keeps you wanting more. I would love to see how Liz and Matt story progresses.
