My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Come Home to Death is a romantic suspense tale by the award-winning author Marilyn Levinson. Having not read any of her books before I thought I would dive in, and I was not disappointed. The release of this book has been a long time coming for Marilyn and I am happy I got the chance to read it.
Money can be the root of all evil and it is just that in this cleverly woven complex mystery thriller. The suspense is palpable as it leaps off the page. This twisty tale will have you checking who is around the next corner and looking for what goes bump in the night.
Erica is surrounded by people with their own agendas, opinions, interference and controlling ways. There are deaths, threats, lies, secrets, who can she trust, who has her best interest at heart, who wants her dead? She thought she could some kind of refuge, but she had been silly to think so and realised why she left in the first place.
If you enjoy a good read, then Come Home to Death is one you shouldn’t miss.

Most newlyweds enjoy spending as much time together as possible, but that’s not true for the Parkers. In nine months of marriage, Terry has spent a good bit of time away. He tells Erica it’s for work but when two unsavory looking individuals show up on her doorstep and start demanding money, she’s not so sure she knows who she married. Then when she goes “home” to her aunts, she finds out even more family secrets abound. Whatever has Erica found herself into?

This is my first read by this author but won’t be my last. This book is full of twists, turns, deceit, secrets, some romance, and more. I’m looking forward to my next read by this author.

This book is a great mystery story that had me hooked right from the start. I connected with the main character instantly and wanted to see how everything would play out for her. The book is really exciting to read and I thought the author really built up the tension so well. I couldn’t decide which way things would turn out but I enjoyed being taken on the journey.
The author has a great writing style for this kind of book. She easily created the mystery and the suspense that went along with it and made me want to know how things would end. This is my first experience of her writing but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and will definitely read more.

This was an outstanding thriller. Erica found herself in a bind when she learns her husband isn’t who she thinks she is. Then a bunch of shady characters pop into the picture. Erica goes home to Marondale and learns that she can trust no one because she will be coming into a large inheritance for her 25th birthday. This has someone trying to kill her to keep their deception secret. Can Erica survive this? This book left me feeling like I should be looking over my shoulder and I don’t have any riches to protect. I absolutely loved the writing. It felt thrilling. You felt your pulse reacting to every emotion. You’ll have fun trying to figure out what’s going on. Yes, I’m a bit twisted because I enjoy reading psychological thrillers. In the end, everything might come together or might not. You will have to find out. Are you up to it?

A Girl, Stuck (Found Families Series) by Kelly Elizabeth Huston – Review by Heidi Sturgess

A Girl, StuckA Girl, Stuck by Kelly Elizabeth Huston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

While I regret not having read the previous books I’m grateful to have got my hands on this one and will be sure to read the previous books 😉🥰📚

We all deal with hurt or disappointment in different ways so when Harriet takes the distraction that comes her way I get it but I’m also a little weary because hello Harriet you’re getting mixed up with crime families and their doings 🙈🤷‍♀️

I respect that Harriet wants to honour her father and his memory but at the same time I don’t think he’ll want her in danger but a girl has to do what she has to do I suppose 😍

The characters are relatable and likeable and there’s a dash of romance , there’s suspense , there’s wit and some laugh out loud moments the only criticism I have is the cover art , this one did no justice to what’s between the pages 🥲

Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Book 1)Mistaken Identity by Stephanie R. Caffrey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was an absolutely phenomenal first book in the London Detective Agency series! The real world did not exist to me once I opened this book, and I didn’t return until I finished the last page. Typically, when I pick up romantic suspense books, they lean heavily on either the romance or suspense. This book somehow balanced both equally, and I loved it! Evelyn is traveling and her bag gets accidentally swapped by another lady named Megan. Patrick is a PI focusing intently on finding Megan…who looks an awful lot like Evelyn. The chemistry between Patrick and Evelyn is palpable and getting to see them react to each other was wonderful. The tension will keep you captivated throughout the entire story. I highly recommend picking this up if you are looking for a fast-paced, intriguing suspense-filled read!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely love mysteries and romance and if you do too, you’ll love this selection! Grad student, Evelyn, is embarking on her first overseas trip to Greece for study abroad. She is nervous and excited about this new experience. During the airport in London to catch her connecting flight, some coincidences occur and she happens to stumble into the arms of Patrick. He is a London native and on his first substantial mission as a private investigator looking for a female who looks very similar to Evelyn. After being mistaken for this other female, they end up in each other’s company and now Patrick’s job is to protect Evelyn while catching the Fitzgeralds, a local mafia type family. Now Evelyn is not only at a loss of what will happen next but she becomes under the protection of a very attractive PI. Patrick is very driven on cracking down on this crime driven Fitzgeralds but is distracted when Evelyn comes into the picture. This book is book one in the series and I am definitely looking forward to the other ones in this series!

Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Book 1)Mistaken Identity by Stephanie R. Caffrey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book I have read from this author and I’m hooked! Evelyn is traveling abroad for part of her Thesis program for Graduate School. She finds herself in the airport in London trying to make her connecting flight.

In the midst of trying to navigate the airport she bumps into someone and inadvertently grabs the wrong bag, as does the person that bumps into her. This starts a series of events that will change her life.

Patrick, a handsome PI, “saves” her… not at first but he does end up getting her out of harms way and into the thick of it all. Truly thinking he had the person he was seeking he leaves the airport with Evelyn in tow and the unknown persons bag.

That’s where it starts to unfold. What a ride it becomes! I love the dynamic between Evelyn, Patrick and James throughout this whole story.

Now on the run from the Fitzgerald’s Crime Family. Patrick is a private investigator whose job was to get Megan to safety before she gets away. Unfortunately Evelyn and Megan not only look alike, they carry the same backpack. No Spoilers Here! I found this series to have started out on the very first page. So many bags travel with their respective owners and many of us have the same one. Many put something special to differentiate their luggage from another and some don’t. That’s what happens to Evelyn on her first trip overseas. She grabs what she thinks is her bag but it actually belongs to another girl who happens to looks a lot like her. Now she has a major crime boss after her. PI Patrick Miller is the only guy that can possibly keep her safe. This story has many twists and turns that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I am very much looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book.

Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Book 1)Mistaken Identity by Stephanie R. Caffrey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was such a thrilling read that was action packed right from the start. The twists and turns in this story kept me hooked and the chemistry between out two main characters is recognisable from the beginning and sizzles throughout the book. This is also the first book in the London Detective Agency Series so I can’t wait to see what else the author has in store for us.

Evelyn was all set to embark on her new life and adventure but a accidental collision with another person and picking up the wrong bag has changed her plans and added a whole level of danger to her life.
The problem is the woman she collided with and that she looks almost identical to is a lady on the run. As a witness for PI Patrick Miller against a crime family she decides to flee.
However in doing so she has now placed Evelyn in harms way.
When Patrick catches up to her the chemistry and attraction between them is instant but he knows has to protect her from the family who are looking to get rid of the witness against them.
Together then now need to work together to bring this family to justice while making sure the Fitzgerald crime family don’t get to Evelyn.

This story is action packed and fast paced. I enjoyed how the romance between Patrick and Evelyn was slow burning in the background of this story which only made it better.
The characters are both well written and likeable. Both are strong in their own way and I loved how Patrick was focused on getting justices, you get the feeling that even if there wasn’t chemistry between him and Evelyn he would still protect her with everything he had.
I am really looking forward to reading more.

I did something I didn’t think was possible, I read this book in one day and it was a holiday on top of that. But once I got started reading I had a very hard time putting it down.

One minute Evelyn is running through the airport with her biggest concern being making her connecting flight out of London. Running into a total stranger changes everything and thankfully it’s not all negative.

Evelyn and Patrick are like oil and water. Then they were so much more. Throw in running from dangerous people only adds to the danger and intrigue of their situation.

I will be keeping up with this series and hopefully will enjoy the next book as much as I enjoyed this one.

I really enjoyed this book. I wish we would’ve known more about what all the Fitzgeralds did, maybe because I’m a nosy person, but we do get to see this guy be a villain for sure. That characters are great, the first interaction between Patrick and Evie is hilarious and I did feel a little something between them; this book does have a slow burn with their relationship which I enjoyed since they were able to focus on the case instead of just themselves. I fell in love with James instantly, funny best friends are the best. (I seen that book two stars him so I’m definitely going to need to read it). Overall I felt the story was original and I like that I wasn’t able to predict what was going to happen next.

Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Book 1)Mistaken Identity by Stephanie R. Caffrey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in a new series which had me hooked throughout. Evelyn Stevenson is a graduate student, who is excited to be leaving home for the first time to travel abroad to study. However, her adventure of a lifetime does not go to plan having had a mix up at the airport during her London layover. This mix up puts her on the radar of a dangerous and notorious crime boss, luckily she has also come to the notice of a very handsome, but burly private investigator Patrick Miller. Evelyn must now rely on him to protect her. Meanwhile, Patrick is on his own mission for revenge, so he’s not very happy when he has to protect Evelyn. Although the couple are both in danger the longer they are together they start to develop feelings for one another, but they need to focus on surviving. This romantic suspense kept me happily turning the pages. The exciting storyline and fast paced plot kept me gripped whilst I felt engaged with the likeable and relatable characters. The chemistry between Evelyn and Patrick came across in the narrative and I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story. I look forward to to book two!

Mistaken Identity By: Stephanie R. Caffrey
4 Star Review
Mistaken Identity was action packed from the start and never a dull moment. Stephanie R. Caffrey kept me captivated throughout the whole book.

Evie aka Evelyn found herself in a situation at the airport that kept her from her next destination to Greece. When she bumped into someone accidently and they switched identical bags she was on a race to get hers back. While running to track down her bag Evie ran into Patrick Miller P.I who mistook her for the girl he was looking for that was running from a Crime Family. Both eventually work together with the help of James, Patrick’s roommate and Business partner so that Evie can go home. There was some betrayal throughout the book with people Patrick thought they could trust.
Again, Action packed with a romance that had them back and forth with a uncertainty that had me rooting for the both of them to win in this whole situation. Loved how the story was written and the characters were introduced and brought together. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Series) by Stephanie R. Caffrey – Review by Shea Gilkerson 3/29/24

Mistaken Identity (London Detective Agency Book 1)Mistaken Identity by Stephanie R. Caffrey
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Evelyn is a woman on an exhilarating trip. In a layover in London while headed to Greece, she accidentally has a switched bag issue with a woman named Megan, who in a rush ran into Evelyn and grabbed the wrong bag in her haste. Evelyn also happens to look similar to Megan, which proves to be a problem.

Patrick is a private investigator who happens to be at the airport looking for Megan and trying to prevent her from fleeing, as she is his main witness in a case he is investigating. This is where Evelyn’s likeness to Megan causes the issue, especially when it is discovered that she now is carrying Megan’s bag that she misplaced while in a hurry to disappear. Megan happens to be on the run from the Fitzgerald crime family, whom Patrick is investigating for a multitude of broken laws and striving for justice.

The action starts immediately and pulls you in. Patrick and Evelyn’s first meeting was a fun read and their chemistry is immediately noticeable. I really appreciated that the slow burn in the background added a little tension, but it didn’t take away from the excellent story telling. Evelyn is a strong and capable female protagonist that shows her bravery in uncertain circumstances. Patrick is a man driven by justice, but can’t deny his interest in Evelyn. Regardless of their chemistry together, Patrick is the type of man who would have protected her with or without it. Anticipating the next one!
