Y’all. I’ve been waiting on Sams book and I. Was. Not. Disappointed. I have always enjoyed his interactions in the other books and Im so happy to read his! Ellie was interesting to read and she tugged at my heart. The prologue was what REALLY sucked me in. India Kells is able to deliver amazing storylines and characters that make you (the reader) so invested! Read the damn series y’all! Onto the next! 💖

Kells knocks this one out of the park. Dark Bastard is a book about who saves who. When two people come together because they each need something the other one has to offer but doesnt know they need. Sam has a very dark past when it comes to his father and Ellie has her own demons. They get stuck when Sams father ends up taking them and forcing them into roles they dont really want. The bond and growth Sam and Ellie go through is great. I enjoy Kells writing style and she keeps you turning the pages.

Dark Bastard is the 5th book in the amazing Dark Sparrow series by India Kells. I have become a huge fan of India Kells over the last few years and the Dark Sparrow series is one of my favourite books series’. Since I read the 4th book in the series and got a little tidbit of what was coming in Dark Bastard I could not wait to read Sam’s story. I just knew it was going to be deep and dark and amazing. I’m so glad to say that I was right (India Kells does not disappoint). Sam’s story makes for some very hard reading as both he and Ellie, the female lead, are both in a very bad place mentally but India Kells does the most amazing job and you are totally sucked into their story and taken on an amazing rollercoaster journey as they continue with the job of bringing down Sam’s evil father (father to all the ‘bastards’ in the series) and trying to keep themselves alive at the same time. I absolutely loved Dark Bastard, not only for the amazing characters that Sam and Ellie are but the incredible storywriting ability that India Kells has. We not only have one of the Bastard brothers left and I’m sure Oz’s story will be just as amazing as the 5 before. I can’t wait to see what India Kells has in store for Oz.

Stripped is the first book in the Stripped series by Stacy Deanne. This is the first book by Stacy Deanne that I have read, so I was curious by what I might find. The blurb intrigued me- and I love all things romantic suspense, so I happily snapped up a copy and jumped right in. This is an interesting story full of intrigue, suspense, a cult, a creepy factor, murder, drama, spice, and plenty of mystery. I discovered that this is a spin-off from a previous series, and I really wished I had known that before diving into this book. Even though this could be read as a standalone, I am left wondering if reading the other series first before starting on this one would have enhanced my reading experience of this book and help to fill in some of the background and a few questions I had. I will be going back to explore the other series to find out what happens there and to see if it makes a difference here. The story was quite gripping and intense at times, with a great ‘mystery’ to unravel- but I do feel that the story lost momentum and the flow lagged at times, but thankfully that didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the book. I am looking forward to Book Two, but in the meantime, I am off to check out the Bruised series and compare notes.

Okay. Finished this book early this morning. Like the second I woke up I HAD to finish. I really enjoyed the characters from her last book and i LOVED Zoe and Archer even more. Once more the storyline was captivating- there was only a few times I had to take a break from the book. (Definitely made me emotional- that’s as much a spoiler as I’m giving!) This book was even sexier and darker than the last one. Anyone not reading this series is missing out. On to the next! 💖

So this is my first book/series I’ve read by India Kells and boy… you will experience emotions. I did anyway. The writing is so vivid and easily transported me to her world. Aleksei and Deva both tore at my heart throughout the book. I LOVED their characters and interactions. Lazarus King is a favorite too. Who doesn’t like a silver fox? At least that’s how I imagine him. 🥰 If anyone is looking for a sexy, thrilling, romance- check this out! Onto the next!

Unbreakable is the first book in The Diamonds series by Tee Smith. This read is a contemporary romance and a bit of an emotional journey. It is full of sexual tension and drama, danger and horrible ex’s, violence and suspense, secrets and lies. The characters are nicely fleshed out and a little complex and there is a little mystery to keep things interesting. It started a little slow but soon found ground. Good girl meets bad boy, and it doesn’t matter what side of the tracks you are from, right or wrong, when love and the heart is involved. The only problem is that trouble will always follow you.

Archer and Zoe are very much a one of a kind couple! The chemistry and the passion will bring out the heat fast! Zoe is an intelligent, independent, and sexy heroine who is as fierce as her red hair! She is sent undercover as a translator to help Archer Blackwood, and uncover any possible enemies or threats lurking. Archer himself is a man who is intensely cold and ruthless with enough money to put anyone to shame. These 2 together navigate a path leading to danger, deception, and many hidden secrets that neither expect. This book was well written and was packed with suspense, adventure, steamy romance, and playful witty banter. Its #2 in a series, and is one that doesn’t disappoint.

Liam and Catriona are night and day, but their attraction is burning hot. India Kells gave us a story to hot and suspenseful to put down until the end. Liam is a rugged Alpha police officer currently hell bent on bringing his father to justice. Currently out due to an injury he crosses paths with nun to be Catriona who is sent to help the family with this mission. The moment their paths cross its all consuming, and Liam risks the dangers of tracking his father as well as losing his heart. The story is beautifully told and it will appeal to your every emotion as you connect to the characters. Its another amazing book within the series that you will not want to miss.

Dark Bastard: A Dark Sparrow Novel is the fifth book in the Bastard series by India Kells. These books keep getting better and better. Each brother’s story is a tale that needs to be told. Sam is in a dark place and when he accidentally calls the wrong number, Ellie gives him something to live for. As always it is great to see glimpses of the other brothers. I’m waiting with bated breath for November and the final book in this series……maybe……well a girl can hope maybe Ms. Kells will find a lost unknown brother out there. If you haven’t read any books in this series, I highly recommend you read them in order. You really don’t have to because each book features a new couple, but you would miss a bunch of the back story if you skipped any books. Besides they are all Five Star books. Review by @sunbarn

This is the second book in the Dark Sparrow series, but the first I have read by this author. India Kells spins an amazing story that draws you in from the beginning. This is the story of Zoe and Archer. Zoe has an amazing ability with languages and can pick them up without formal study. Archer is a businessman who is selling part of his business and needs assistance with some language barriers to make sure he is getting the best deal for him. What Archer doesn’t know is that Zoe is put in his path to help save him from a possible disastrous ending. Archer is very cold, and Zoe is a not part of his plan, but can they find love together with the danger that surrounds him? I love how Zoe is such a strong, independent, smart woman. She doesn’t run from danger. She wants to be an equal not to be saved. I am looking forward to the next installment!!

This is the third installment in the Dark Sparrow series and India Kells did not fail to deliver another incredible story! This is the story of Kai and Isabel. Kai and Isabel met years ago in Hawaii, fell in love, and Isabel just disappeared. Isabel is thrown back into Kai’s life as him and his bastard brothers are determined to take down his father. Isabel is a strong self-made woman but is terrified of Kai finding out all the secrets from her past. Their connection is still as strong as it was years ago in Hawaii, but can they survive the fight against Kai’s father? Can they survive each other finding out about their pasts? This author does a fantastic job drawing us into the story. Even though Kai and Isabel are the main focus, all the brothers make an appearance, yet the story is very balanced. I am ready for the next book!

The fourth book in the Dark Sparrow series has the bastard brothers still trying to take down their evil father. This is Liam and Catriona’s story. Liam is a cop who is not working do to an on the job injury. Catriona is an about to be nun, who is a wizard with numbers. The brothers feel that to take out their father, they need to stop the money. Catriona was asked by a mutual friend to help the family out. She is willing to risk her life to help them, Liam doesn’t want her to endanger her safety to do so. I love that these books are so interwoven and full of intrigue. There are so many twists and turns that are unexpected. Can Liam and Catriona also find love? Will they all come out unscathed after another run in with the bastards evil father? Thank you India Kells for the world you created and for letting me fall into it with you!

The fifth installment of the Dark Sparrow series did not disappoint. I am in love with these bastard brothers. This is Sam and Ellie’s story. Sam was a soldier, trained for danger. Ellie is a 911 operator. They had both made individual decisions to end their lives when Sam makes a call to Ellie by mistake. Hearing the sadness in her voice, he has to find out who she is and how to help her. Finding a way to be close to her also puts her in the most danger she has ever been in. Sam and Ellie both end up in the clutches of Sam’s disgusting father. Finding that they both come from childhoods that are far from even nice, can that bond them together to fight their way out of the situation they find themselves in? India Kells has a wonderful way with words that draws you in and keeps you intrigued to the last page. The epilogue for one book, is the prologue for the next, leaving you hungering for you next bastard brother fix. The women are strong, independent, and are not damsels in distress. Not only can they help save themselves; they kick ass doing it. Am absolutely in love with this author. Thank you, India Kells!

This is a new author for me and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a suspenseful story with a twist of romance. This is a well written story about Dee and her partner Connie. They are put on a murder case where a woman is strangled to death. This is where the story takes an action turn and is hard to put down. Not only are they looking for a murderer but they also life plays havoc on romance. This is an engaging story that pulled me in from the start. The characters are not only relatable but they kept the story engaging. They brought the story to life with their twists and turns. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Each book contains a story about Marcy and her friends. She is a great character that you just want to know more about. She is a character full of emotions and very strong. She is my favorite in this series and her friends supported her really well. Each story is unique and has its own plot and twists and turns. They are engaging stories that are hard to put down. They are fun and entertaining to read. I highly recommend this box set and this author.

I enjoyed this book. This is a newer author for me and I look forward to reading more from her in the future. This is a well written story about two people, one who has a dark past and the other who has no intention of falling in love with anyone. Erin returns home to care for her sick mother. What she doesn’t expect is to come face to face with “Ripper”. The problem is that he has a dark past and it could cause harm to their relationship. She never expected to fall for him or his past. Will the truth save their relationship or will it destroy it? I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning by the characters. They are connectable and brought life to the story. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout the story. They have a great chemistry together. I found myself hoping they would end up together at the end. They made the story fun and easy to read. This is a really great story that I enjoyed. I highly recommend this book.

This book set is a great way to start this series! And you must start at the beginning!
This first book is an interesting story. I felt like I was waiting for the other shoe to drop the entire time I was reading this book. The plot is a good one, with the main character, Marcy, experiencing some unexplained nightmares and rage. Her boyfriend, Brad, tries to make her understand that people are beginning to fear her. This just makes her angrier. Brad is by no means perfect and has his own problems. This couple gets engaged but sadly it doesn’t last long when they discover they have major problems to work out. Because Marcy didn’t have enough going on in her crazy life, she meets Liam.
I enjoyed this story because I experienced a range of emotions with the characters from their experiences. A little rage myself at the hospital scene. I have found that Brad tends to bring out my worst feelings. However, when Marcy meets Liam, that relationship brings out my swoony type feelings. (Although I think they are rushing things.)
I did not think that Marcy’s rage was all that out of control. Although when she learned to control it she seemed to be able to rather quickly. I think there could have been more situations where she was out of control. There were situations where she should have been out of control but she was rather passive. Marcy is a very likeable character and I cannot wait to see how and when Burson gives Marcy a happily ever after.
Confusion is book two in the Marcy series. In this book Marcy seems to have her rage still under control. After she met Liam in book one she learns there is a better outlet for her rage. In Confusion she is given more opportunities to let that rage loose. Her real confusion is loving two men and it is making me crazy! I really don’t know how one person could do it. She is much stronger than she thinks. However, I would like to see Brad become a little stronger himself. He seems weak through the first half of the book. And then he kind of goes MIA. Leaving us to wonder what he is cooking up.
Liam’s past is still a mystery and his current life as a vigilante keeps him mysterious. I hope when all is said and done he isn’t a bad guy! I am still #teamliam though-out this book!
Again, Burson’s writing style makes this storyline easy to read. I want a happily ever after and Marcy just can’t make a choice…I really don’t blame her…much.
To get the whole story you must read before book one, Rage, before reading Confusion. I love the titles that the author has given to these books. Perfect! However, my feelings are mixed about the main characters. Liam, Marcy and Brad…make a choice already! I did wish there was a bigger wow factor for the cliff hanger but I am still going to read the next book, Agony and Ecstasy. That sounds about right for these characters! I can’t imagine what Burson has in store for these three!
Ok here we go. Agony and Ecstasy is the third book in the Marcy Series. Will it be the last? With that ending I certainly hope not!
Here’s what causes Marcy’s rage, confusion, agony AND ecstasy!
“My life seems to be running in slow motion, and I can’t speed it up no matter what I do. I still think of Brad all the time, but I’m not missing him the way I’m missing Liam. Isn’t that interesting?”
To me this story had more agony than ecstasy. I just can’t like Brad. Everyone else does, Marcy, her friends, her parents, maybe even Linda Burson herself. I really am trying. I was #teamliam all through book 2 but this time he makes some choices and does some things that makes me wonder just what is really going on.
I can tell you this author likes twists! Major twist at the half way mark, another twist before the wedding, minor twist at the wedding, twist with Liam and Marcy, twist with Brad and Marcy. Can you understand the main character’s confusion? agony?
This story had good writing as the first two books did. This story focuses on Marcy’s confusion about loving these two great men. This story has a bittersweet happy ending but I didn’t like it…remember I am #teamliam. I felt no closure with this ending so let’s see what Burson can bring in the next book.

With Fletcher as a father- who needs enemies? Cold Bastard is an original tale woven in intrigue, peppered with complex characters, and sprinkled in mystery and suspense.
This is the first book I’ve read from India, and I was not disappointed with her ability to capture and retain my interest. Zoe represents a resilient heroine who is sexy, smart, and sassy. Archer, the tycoon, suffering from past demons, has an icebox for a heart. When their worlds collide, their chemistry is instant and explosive. Archer helps Zoe get over her insecurities concerning her body and Zoe obliterates the ice in Archer’s heart.
I had fun reading this novel- if you require a much-needed escape from reality- grab a copy of Cold Bastard- I promise you won’t be disappointed.

I welcomed the perspective that India chose to tell this story. The ‘perfect life’ façade is usually a typical portrayal of characters. I appreciated that India decided to colour out the lines.
She highlighted the emotional burden that stems from trying to saying everyone (Ellie) and dealing with unresolved childhood trauma (Sam). It was important that the characters were allowed to work through this and overcame their feelings of depression. They healed in their way and on their own time. They rediscovered reasons for living.
I became fond of the characters, and I am contented that they got their happy ending. This novel will have you crying, upset and on the edge of your seat; do not just take my word for it, grab yourself a copy today.

Sinful Daughter (Dark Mafia Sins Book 1) by Emily Bowie – Review by Krista Vaughan
Aria is the daughter of the mob boss and potentially the future family lawyer. Theo is maybe the only cop on the force who can’t be bought. Perfect relationship material? You wouldn’t think so, but these two can’t stay away from each other. How can they POSSIBLY make this work? I found myself rooting for the underdog in this action-packed Mafia romance. Worth the read!

This was a great 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down.
Aria is a mafia princess with an attitude. She has plans to be a lawyer for the family. One night her father shares some news with her that changes everything. She decides to rebel a little and ends up going out with her friend, she ends up meeting a very hot cop, Theo.
Theo has a goal to go after Aria’s family but after meeting Aria he can’t resist her. Everytime he is near her he is drawn to her. These two have some very steamy moments, dangerous moments I might add, especially if her father were to find out.
How will this all end for them? Can they have a HEA? What will happen if their secret comes out?
Overall this was a great read. I felt like there were several stories in this book and I loved it. The author did a great job with her writing and pulled you right in. All of the characters added a great element to the story. I really loved Aria and her sassiness. You could feel their attraction coming off the pages. If you’re looking for a great mafia read 1-click and get started on this book today.

There is so much tension in this novel; from who is threatening who, to who wants to get into bed with who, in more ways than one! Aria and Theo are the perfectly wrong people for each other: she’s the daughter of a mafia boss; he’s a cop out to punish those who thought they were above the law, especially the Rossi family. Of course that’s what makes the sexual tension between Aria and Theo palpable. They just can’t seem to stay away from one another, despite the prying eyes. And Aria’s privacy and passions are truly tested when she is forced into an arranged marriage for the sake of her family. In a crime family where nothing is as it seems, who can Aria trust, with her heart and with her secrets?
3.5 stars rounded up. I wanted to enjoy this novel so much more than I did. I enjoyed the premise and the sexual tension between Aria and Theo, as well as the push and pull between the Rossi’s and Mancini’s, and Theo and the Rossi’s, however I couldn’t immerse myself in the story completely. I felt like the story was drawn out and more drama added without giving a reason or a truly viable conclusion. I also personally didn’t like the writing style used. Maybe I can come back and reread in the future and enjoy the story and all the drama more, but for now I’m left feeling underwhelmed.

I have read so many 5 star books lately & of course this one is too. We follow 911 dispatcher Ellie and Sam as they both coincidentally meet on the hardest night of the year for both of them. But, in the end is Ellie’s life worth the risk for Sam’s love? With a huge target on Sam’s back we’re left hanging and when it becomes a life or death situation, they need each other to get out of it. This book had numerous twists, turns, steamy scenes and at the end of the day just makes you want to fall in love. But at the same time. The cliffhanger at the end?!?🤯 I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series!

Dark is the perfect description for Sam. His history with his “father” is something worse that I imagined it to be. I knew Finch was the scum of the earth but he has proven that title is too kind.
Sam manages to try and climb out of the darkness only after a misdialed call and fate has something else in mind for him.
Ellie is something else, she wants to help everyone and seems to have taken it upon herself to save them even if they don’t want to be saved and it’s taken it’s toll on her. Her need to save may be just what Sam needs.
I have throughly enjoyed these books, especially the amazing relationships the brothers have with one another. Though not raised together they have an incredibly tight bond which leaves no doubt on who has their backs.
I’m so excited to read Oz’s story but sad that this series is probably coming to an end.

I really loved the story line and how we got to see a glimpse into their thoughts. I haven’t read a story with those triggers before but I am glad I read this one because it just shows that not every love story has that perfect narrative but can still end up as a happily ever after. Even though we don’t necessarily get that HEA at the end, I’m guessing it will come. I’ll definitely need to read the books that came before this one as well to get to know the characters a little better!

I read a few of the books in the series and you definitely don’t want to pass this by. This boxset has everything you would want. There’s a lot of suspense in these books that will keep you interested.
My favorite is the boxset is book 3 which in Agony and Ecstasy
The series should be read in order to follow the lives of the characters. Marcy is one of the main characters and she has been through a lot of heartbreak and fear in her life. There were 2 men in her life Brad and Liam. Both of which were engaged to Marcy and one point. Marcy has nightmares which start with her not remembering them. Little by little she starts to remember certain things. She’s in a very fragile state and then to top things off, she finds out that Liam, the man she loves…the man she plans to marry has some secrets of his own. Marcy needs to choose which man she will end up with. Brad…Liam…Who knows! This book has a lot of suspense and twists you won’t see coming. I thought the book was written well however, I felt like there were things thrown in that weren’t needed like the author had to meet a word count. The book was fairly long so I know that can’t be the case. I did enjoy reading this book and I’m sure you will too. Please be sure to read the books in order.

Burson – Review by Michelle Mulvey
I must be honest here, when I picked up this novel, I had my doubts. Even at the beginning, for the first few chapters, I didn’t feel like I was really “in it.” I felt as though I was skipping back to the beginning to recall who was who in the two Mafia families that they discuss, and it took away from some of the story. Really, I have not been interested in any Mafia oriented books, shows, or movies before, and took a chance at picking this up. Well, once I was a fair bit into Aria and Theos forbidden love story, I was NOT putting it down.
I started diving deeper into the relationships between Aria and her father, and other sisters, along with her older adopted brother, and the sort of ‘sheltered’ life she had lived up until this point. Being told what to do is not something I’ve ever been a fan off, so I could certainly relate to not only Aria, but her sister Katrina’s character as well. Arrogant, authoritative personas have been my kryptonite, so when I started to get to know Theos character a bit more throughout this novel, I must admit, I was falling for him.
Overall, I quite enjoyed that Emily Bowie’s Sinful Daughter – Mafia Romance, though wish I had of taken more time to really get to understand the inner workings of the Mafia, and what that means for all family members. I loved the twists and turns that she brings into the main plot line, and the cliffhanger ending. I will be reading the next installment, and with the whole modern day ‘Romeo and Juliet’ feel this story gives off, I have to say I’m quite excited to get to know the other family members better! Thank you, Emily, for this change of pace. Wonderful read!
