Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato ) by Cam Johns & Sonya Jesus – Review by Angela Hayes

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato #0)Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sons of Sindicato is the start of an exciting new mafia series by Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus. I have loved these authors books, individually, so when they came together for a collaboration it was a given that I would be diving in asap.
This is a very short, novella length taste of what’s to come. I devoured this story in my lunch break and was left wanting more- in a good way. I would have loved to read a longer, fuller version of this story so I could immerse myself in it for longer- and get more of Braelynn and Seth’s story. But the book did a great job of whetting my appetite for the rest of the series and I can’t wait to get my hands on book two.
So, if you love mafia stories, romantic suspense on the darker side- with fantastic characters, and an intriguing and well-written storyline- then this is definitely a book you will want to read!
Bring on Book #2!

Thank you, Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus!

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Liz Vrchota

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3)Auctioned by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have really enjoyed the Billionaire Bodyguards series from Via Mari so far, so when I saw book three was available it was not questions asked I just one-clicked. These books are written in a way they could be enjoyed as standalones, but I can promise you if you love this one you will want the rest of the available series to devour as well. I really enjoyed the action and thriller parts that balance the hot and steamy parts that will have you fanning yourself as you read. Via Mari does a wonderful job of transporting you into the book and making you feel you have a front row seat to all the action going on. THe characters are relatable and complex so well that you feel as if they are real people and you can’t help but cheer them on to find love and peace together. I really look forward to seeing what kind of story we will get in the next installment!

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3)Auctioned by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Auctioned is a dark billionaire Mafia romance and also book three in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. A dominant bodyguard, a submissive virgin and lots of danger and suspense? What more can you ask for? Via Mari continues to deliver a masterclass romance fraught with intense moments, blood chilling and life threatening situations and some steamy hot love scenes that will curl your toes and take your breath. Damian has a relentless need to rescue and protect Bryanna from the hideous world of human trafficking. Trust is hard to give after her ordeal, but the magnetism and sexual attraction that oozed from Damian was too hard to ignore. Their story was arousing and evoked emotions that were hard to ignore and even harder to move on from after the story was over. I was taken under their spell and it was more than magical. A thought stealing and adrenalin pumping read that was over way too soon. 5 stars.

Secure Her (Chase Security Series Book 4) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur.

Secure Her (Chase Security #4)Secure Her by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book contains scenes of a graphic and sexual nature, only those over 18’s only should read this.

Zachary “Ice” Wentworth is the head of the Domestic Law Enforcement Unit within Chase Security, he has worked his way there from being an ex Navy SEAL, all the way up, but he is still recovering from the loss of a female operative who was also his submissive partner. Saoirse Kennedy is an US Attorney and is extremely good at her job, she is brave, determined and beautiful, but she is also naive in matters of the heart.

Zachary is travelling back home after visiting San Diego for an operation, as he approaches the airport departures ready to check in his luggage and his firearm, he notices a woman ahead of him in the line who is also checking in a weapon, but she is having a lot more problems than he is doing it, so he steps in and then asks to speak to the supervisor about it. This leads to them introducing themselves and parting ways, that is until she ends up sitting next to him on his flight, she is easy to talk to and conversation flows easily between them, but she is guarded, but nevertheless, Zachary can’t deny his attraction to her. He offers her a ride to her destination in the city, but unbeknownst to either of them, she is attending a course in undercover work which Zachary just happens to be running. As the course proceeds, there is one person who Zaxhary realises is underqualified and although she is allowed to finish the course, his dissatisfaction is reported back to her supervisor.

Thinking no more of the situation and a few months pass until Saoirse turns up at the Unit headquarters asking for a meeting with Zachary with a conference call with Martin Bailey at the same time, but what he hears is not what he expected, it turns out that an undercover female officer has been murdered while on assignment to infiltrate a trafficking ring and the woman in question was the same one who was on the same course as Saoirse. As the conversation deepens it turns out that they want Zachary as a dominant to train Saoirse as a submissive to enable her to try and infiltrate the same ring, but he is uncomfortable and unsure as to how to proceed given his past and when it turns out that Saoirse wasn’t given the full details of what would be happening, he isn’t so sure that either of them will be able to do it.

As Zachary digs deeper into the files associated with the case, he can see that there is more than meets the eye and that the target for the investigation is a rich businessman with a lot of connections, plus that there have been ten other undercover female operatives who have died as well. As Saoirse is trying to decide whether to take this case on, Zachary throws her in at the deep end and takes her to observe exactly what being dominant and submissive entails, she is shocked and as things get more serious, she opens up to him and agrees to try. Will Zachary and Saoirse be able to get her trained up and ready in time to carry out the infiltration, or will they become too drawn into their roles to distinguish between their reality and their personas? Will their feelings come between them and the mission, or will they be able to trust each other enough to get over the barriers in their way? This is a suspenseful thriller which draws you into another world as you follow the investigation and infiltration until the end to see how the story concludes.

It is after she has finished that an emergency call to a young girl being brought in with serious injuries comes in and after four hours and an amputation later, the girl is out of surgery, but she is still in a critical condition due the the extent of her injuries, but she hasn’t got time to deal with her emotions before another emergency call comes in. Meanwhile, Martin is checking on the operation his teams are working on and finds that one involving illicit pornography and the stealing of identification to sell it, as well as the danger for his teams is showing that there is something deeper going on which they need to investigate, next on his list is a teleconference, however when he finds out that his brother Austin has been injured while on duty, he immediately flies out there to be with his family. As Elizabeth is working on Austin in the theater, Martin sends his own people out to go to the scene and start to liaise with the local officers there and start an investigation of their own when they are roadblocked as soon as they start asking questions. When an update on his brother’s condition comes in and he finds out that Elizabeth is the surgeon, memories of when they were younger come flooding back to him and he is hoping that it isn’t her, however, when it is, he struggles to maintain his anger towards her when she is so professional with him.

As the days pass and Elizabeth carries out more of her duties, she reports her thoughts about the pattern to the inmates injuries while also fending off the comments her coworker keeps throwing at her, especially when she has to attend his patients when he is unreachable and when one unfortunately passed away due to complications, her coworker is on the warpath. However, when Martin reads the background report on Elizabeth he knows he needs to see her, but when he does, she is immediately taken into custody and marched to the police station under mysterious circumstances, so Martin calls in his team to help her, but when he comes across information about what happened after he left, he knows that he needs to talk to her about what happened and see if they can they rekindle their romance, or will the investigation into her being carried out by the police put her in harm’s way? ANGUISH (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK ONE) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Kerry Baker

Anguish: The Journals Trilogy Book 1 Audiobook by D.M. Earl is a dark and twisted story that certainly leaves you wanting more. I wasn’t sure how this book would be properly portrayed as an audiobook and I was really surprised by how well it transferred. The emotion and the mystery all came through so well and I was hooked on the story almost as soon as it started. There was quite a slow and methodical tone to the way it was told which made it really easy to picture everything going on, only for all of the emotion to burst out with the dialogue. When it got to certain scenes in the book I found my heart breaking for Quinn as I imagined everything she must have gone through. My only gripe about this book is that every now and again the narration felt a little robotic however it doesn’t really detract from it being a great story. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and I can wait for the next one.

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forged by Secrets is the third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series. It can be read as a standalone.
The first few chapters of the book were a little repetitive regarding Malina’s past and her back and forth with feelings about Ty. Overall, I found the story held my attention once it really got going. It was interesting to see how the situation with the mole played out. Good suspense, elements of danger, and several secrets that create some fascinating twists.

Forged by Secrets is the latest and third book in the series Deadly Isles Special Ops. I have read all three books in this series and have enjoyed them immensely. This book would work well as a stand alone, but in the series, it answered a lot of the lingering questions and wrapped up the series well. It is the story of the third Hale brother, Tyler. The mole that has plagued the brothers is still following them. Will Tyler find out who the mole is before it is too late? Will he be able to save his love interest, Malina, before her past catches her? Find all the answers in Forged by Secrets!

Secure Her (Chase Security Series #4) by RL Dunn

This is the fourth book I’ve read by Dunn. Another amazing read by this wonderful author. This is the fourth book in the Chase Security Series, but can be read as a standalone.

Saoirse is in town for help. Little does she know she’d already met one of the members of the people she is going to. Chase Security does all kinds of things and she needs their help. The quote I chose for Saoirse is: “Shove me if I snore. I’ve been awake for the last two days packing up my office. And yesterday, I missed my planned flight because the people subletting my place in San Diego were delayed. I’m starting a new position in New York. This was the last possible flight to be on time for work at 0800. God. I’m babbling.”

Zach met this lovely lady on his way home. He’s also known as Ice to the members of Chase Security. When he realizes that the lovely lady that he met needs their help it changes everything for him. Will he get his second chance? The quote I chose for Zach is: “Ah, if you weren’t in the same predicament—you know, if I tell you, I’ll have to kill you—but since you’re on one of the boat’s decks… I carry for Homeland.”

Highly recommended for Romantic Suspense lovers.

Secure Her (Chase Security #4)Secure Her by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Once I started I got pulled right in and didn’t want to stop reading.
Zach is reeling from losing one if his own, she was important to him in many ways. And when he gets put into a new mission he meets a woman that makes him crave a sub, especially when he has to train her.
Saoirse is starting a new case and when she meets Zach she is pulled right in. The more that he teaches her about submission the bigger the attraction grows. Will Zach risk his heart again or will he lock it up? Will they be able to solve the case?

Overall I really enjoyed this read. We get several twists and turns along with the POV of the victim as well, which added a great element to the story. All of the characters were great. The author does a great job with her writing and you feel like you’re right there in the story. This is my favorite in the series so far. I will warn you that this is a book for 18+. Secure Her (Chase Security #4)Secure Her by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Secure Her is book 4 in the series. I have read the others in the series but this one is by far, my favorite!!! The two main characters are Zach Wentworth and Saoirse Kennedy. I was shocked to see them go undercover together. Just thought it was odd how they met and then weeks later they are going in together to take down the human trafficking business that has killed many men, women and children along with some precious undercover agents.
They must work together and get in character so no one suspects a thing.
These two make such a cute couple reading about them and I swear I love them.
This book definitely will keep you flipping the pages until late at night because there is so much going on and so much suspense that you need to know what happens next.
You definitely want to go grab a copy of this today. Great read!

Secure Her (The Chase Security Series Book 4) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Secure Her (Chase Security #4)Secure Her by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

R.L. Dunn‘s ‘The Chase Security Series’, about the Chase brothers and their team of former Navy SEALS and other military officers just keeps getting better and better. I was really looking forward to this fourth book in the series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It can be read as a standalone story but the characters do crossover and I would recommend reading the books in order. This story focuses on the Head of the Domestic Law Enforcement Unit at Chase Security, Zach “Ice” Wentworth and US Attorney Saoirse Kennedy who arrives in Zach’s office on a mission wanting to stop a prolific human trafficking ring. Zach is a Dominant known as Master Ice and he craves a new submissive but not someone he works with. He is still haunted by guilt from losing a female operative who was also his submissive when he meets Saoirse, a decisive and independent women at work but who also happens to be a natural submissive. Master Ice must train Saoirse in Dominance and submission if she is to stay alive going undercover to infiltrate the trafficking ring, as the previous female police officers have all ended up dead. As Zach and Saoirse’s undercover roles and real lives start to blur Zach must decide if he’s willing to risk his heart once again on love.

This action packed, fast paced novel had me gripped from beginning to the very last page. The storyline does involve both adult themes and some dark issues such as human trafficking and sexual assault so it is for readers over 18+. I loved the two main characters and the obvious chemistry between them really came across in the story. I liked ‘catching up’ with characters from previous books as well. The descriptive narrative really bought both the setting and the characters to life which made me feel immersed in the story. An enjoyable and engaging read which I definitely recommend and I’m looking forward to book five in this exciting series.

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Having read and enjoyed the previous two books in McKinley’s ‘Deadly Isles Special Ops’ series I was looking forward to this third novel and was definitely not disappointed. In fact this series just keeps getting better. Each book can be read as a standalone story, however I recommend reading the whole series as each book is a great read. I was gripped from page one of ‘Forged by Secrets’ and loved the two main characters, Malina and Tyler. Malina Johansson is an analyst for the Navy SEALs and she works alongside Tyler Hale, a Navy SEAL who she had a crush on in high school. The couple get together after a drunken night in Vegas but afterwards Malina makes it clear it was a one time thing as she does not think Tyler wants a relationship. Meanwhile, Tyler can not get his one night with Malina out of his head and does not know why she’s avoiding him. When he returns from a mission to discover Malina had been accused of a crime and is now missing all he wants to do is find her and keep her safe. Malina knows she’s in trouble as she’s been accused of treason and the only person she trusts to help her is Ty, however first she has something to tell him about their night in Vegas. This is a fairly short read but it’s action packed and fast paced with plenty of plot twists that kept me guessing until the end. The chemistry between Ty and Malina really came across in the story and the descriptive narrative bought both the characters and the setting to life. I found this novel to be an exciting and engaging read. I’m looking forward to future books in this series.

Secure Her (Chase Security #4)Secure Her by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Secure Her is the 4th book in the fantastic Chase Security Series by R.L. Dunn. This is a series that has had me hooked from the very beginning of the first book and I was excited to get another instalment. Was I disappointed? Not a chance. I absolutely loved this book. I was hooked from start to finish. I also loved getting a chance to see the guys from the previous books and seeing what these guys are up to now.
Secure Her is the story of Zach ‘Ice’ Wentworth, Head of Domestic Law Enforcement for Chase Security. Given the job of trying to infiltrate a human trafficking ring, Zach has to train US Attorney Saoirse to be his submissive in order to bring down the ring.
I loved this book, the dynamic between Zach and Saoirse is amazing and I loved reading their story. The whole storyline flows really well and keeps you enthralled as the story unfolds.
I’ve said before about this series of books but it amazes me that the author can keep up with all the different characters. There is a huge list of characters that make up this book, and the others in the series and I know I found it hard to keep track of who is who. It certainly doesn’t affect my enjoyment though as these books are so well written that you can’t help but be on the edge of your seat, scared to turn the page to see what happens next.
I’d definitely recommend Secure Her and the rest of this series. All worth more than 5 stars each in my humble opinion.

Secure Her (Chase Security #4)Secure Her by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Author’s Note: This book contains graphic depictions of sexual assault. Read with caution.

This story is the fourth book in the Chase Security Series. I highly recommend reading this from the first book in the series, but seriously you will enjoy the entire series. R.L. Dunn’s creative descriptive language is off the charts. I could see the scene in my mind’s eye. The characters are fully developed and have very unique qualities. When getting ready to read this book I highly recommend getting settled in because you may just read the entire book. Zak is the head guy in the domestic division in Chase Security. During his last assignment he lost one of his unit female operatives (who just happen to be one of the submissives). He has vowed never to have relations with an operative again. Wait until Saoirse enters the office will he be able to keep his word to himself about relations with those he works at. What is in store for Chase Security? With Zak? I highly recommend this story. It is a great read.

Oh My Gosh! What a story this was and I am so, so excited for the next book now – I cannot wait! The writing for this novella was completely flawless- it’s impossible to tell (in my opinion) that it is written by two authors, their writing style complement each other perfectly. I’ve read books by both of these authors so I knew I would be in for a good read and whilst this might only be a novella it absolutely packs a punch – it’s definitely up there with my favourite reads of 2021! I loved the characters and I cannot wait to read more about them! Braelynn was an amazing female lead, such a wonderful strength about her even though she still had her vulnerabilities.
I will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series – I cannot wait!!!

Another fantastic read from this author. It was full of action from beginning to end and it was as I expected from this author. She commands my attention from the very first page until the last. I love her characters they are always well written and great to read about.
In this third instalment of the Deadly Isles Special Ops series we follow Malina and Tyler’s story. I loved both of these characters, Tyler was the kind of alpha male I love to read about and I adored Malina! She was strong and sassy! A fantastic heroine! I was with Tyler every step of the way as he tried to find Malina.
I would recommend reading this series in order; all of the books have been amazing so far! I can’t wait to see what will happen next in this series!

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato ) by Cam Johns & Sonya Jesus – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Sons of SindicatoSons of Sindicato by Sonya Jesus & Cam Johns
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sons of Sindicato is a dark romance between a lawyer and a high profile member of a crime family. It was written by Sonya Jesus and Cam Johns. A fascinating literary combination. Murder, mystery and mayhem follow this pair from the beginning. This is not a long story, but it lacks nothing. It has intensity, attraction, distrust, prejudice, uncertainty and accusation. The main characters had this incredible and charismatic connection. By all accounts, their love was not meant to be. Loyalty was questioned. Self reflection was ever present. But while everything seemed against them, they made it work. Braelynn and Seth were a formidable couple that had a lot of hurdles to overcome before they could enjoy their happy ever after. A fantastic short story that was electric and alluring. 4 stars.

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley is the third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series. This author has yet again produced an amazing book with some brilliant characters right at the centre of it. Malina and Tyler have to be my favourite couple of this series so far. They are one those couples that just fit together in such an effortless way and are so exciting to read about. They have a true connection that adds a whole new level to the story.
As with the other stories they are fast paced and action packed from beginning to end. This author really knows how to create a gripping story and just keeps the pages turning. This is another 5* read and I would highly suggest everyone reads this series.

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m thoroughly impressed with this book and especially this series. Forged By Secrets is the third book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops Series by Amy McKinley. In this book, we meet Malina Johansson who is an analyst for the Navy Seals. Tyler is her high school crush and in one night in Vegas with a whole lot of liquor things definitely changed. However, once they are back home, she becomes guarded and then she gets accused of Treason. Because of this, Tyler comes to her rescue to help fight her current demons and he will not stop until she is proven innocent. Not to mention if either one has a shot at happiness. This book was excellent and something I couldn’t put down. It was definitely a page turner! This is the third book in the series and like I always say…start the series from the beginning. However, you can read this book as a standalone. This author always makes her books easy to read and knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely love this book and this series! You will not be disappointed! I can’t wait for the next book from this author!

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Book 3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ty had a crush on Malina in high school but never acted on it because he knew his future was in the service. Malina had a crush on him too…so imagine her surprise when she finds herself working with him on a current project for the SEALs. That crush is still there, but she won’t act on it because she knows Ty is not the settling down with one woman type. However, one night in Vegas (with some alcohol involved) changed that.

Once she returns home, she is determined to keep her mind off of Ty. However, when she is accused of Treason, Ty is the person she turns to for help. Ty is determined to do whatever he can to keep her safe. However, when both of them open up about the truth of what really happened in Vegas…will Ty still want to help Malina clear her name?

I have enjoyed this series since the first book. It is one of those books that keeps you up all night to finish because you have to know what happens. It is action packed and there are twists that you didn’t necessarily see coming. Overall, a good book!

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Book 3) by Amy McKinley is a story full of adventure and suspense. It even has more than a dash of romance. It makes the story that much more enticing.

Malina Johansson is a Navy SEAL analyst who works with Tyler, her high school crush. All it takes is one night of drinking in Vegas for her to let down her guard and fall into his arms. She avoids office contacts with Tyler at home, where her walls are firmly in place to shield her spirit. Before she is charged with treason. Now that she’s on the run, she turns to Tyler, the man she knows will keep her safe but who she swears she’ll never trust again. Navy SEAL Tyler Hale returns to Pearl Harbor after a rescue and recovery operation, only to discover that the woman he’s never been able to get out of his system is in danger. He’ll go to whatever length to clear Malina’s name and hold her by his side now that she’s been accused of a crime and gone missing. But no one is innocent, and if he wants a future with the woman of his dreams, he needs to be honest with himself. Ty drops a bomb from their night in Vegas in a world where secrets are the currency, but Malina has one as well.

This is the third book of the series, and it just as good as the two other books. I enjoyed every bit of this story. I loved every page of this book.

Hacker (The Mercenaries Series) by Nadine Travers – Review by Rosemary Martinez

Hacker (The Mercenaries, #2)Hacker by Raven White
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this edition of the mercenaries series by Nadine Travers! It definitely contained just the right level of suspense to keep you turning the pages wanting to know what is going to happen. The author did a really good job of giving some background information on the characters without going off on a tangent and then having to settle back into the main story for which I was really grateful. You really find yourself rooting for them and wanting Hacker and Marie to win. There were totally times where I found myself yelling at Marie in my head. The romance/sexual aspect is complete without being all-consuming to the story. It’s a great book for someone who likes romance AND mystery/suspense. Hacker was undoubtedly a guy I could see myself being into. I will admit by the end I also wanted Sensei and Mika to develop a relationship. Perhaps the next chapter?

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley is the 3rd book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series. I loved how each book focused on a different brother from the same family. This last book in the series focuses on Ty and Melina, the woman he’s felt a connection with for a long time. They’ve known each other since high school but Ty didn’t make any moves towards her because he knew he’d be enlisting. What a surprise it was to reconnect later when Ty is now a Navy Seal and Melina is one of the computer operators working with his team. This whole series is a wonderful read you can’t help but get sucked in. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
