Fade into the Night (Philly Heat Series) by Becky Flade – Review by Beverly Finnie

Fade Into the Night (Philly Heat series, #5)Fade Into the Night by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fade into the Night is the next book in the Philly Street Series. Another adventure for the characters the reader has learned to love in the last few books. The author brings a story full of suspense and intrigue that gets extremely close to home.
Noah works himself to the bone never giving himself a chance at a life and being happy. He doesn’t understand what he sees happening with his friends but is happy for them nonetheless.
Unfortunately he’s about to find out in an unexpected way. Sadie was a fling a few nights he will always remember. That is till he runs into her at a coffee shop in Philly.
Sadie never thought she’d see Noah again. When that proves to be wrong, she decides to take full advantage. Convincing him of spending an evening together. Unfortunately for her it leads to her being attacked and injured badly by the current suspect in the case Noah is trying to solve.
Now he’s faced with a dilemma. Noah’s off the case because he’s too invested, but can he really stop?
Will Noah keep Sadie safe?
Will they bring the suspect to justice?
The answers to those questions is what keeps the reader invested in this story. Turning the page and wanting more! This may be a series but these books work well as standalone novels as well. Jump in and enjoy!

Fade Into the Night (Philly Heat series, #5)Fade Into the Night by Becky Flade
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is book five in The Philly Heat Series. Each book could easily be a standalone, but they are all so perfectly intertwined. This is Noah Danes (FBI special agent) and Sadie Potter (Forensic Facial Reconstructionist) story as they happen to meet again. Each character is wonderfully written and easily relatable. I was quickly pulled in and could not stop reading till I was done. A romantic suspense filled with drama, emotion, action, a killer, romance and more twists and turns to create a perfect book. I definitely recommend this book and well the whole series.

Check Out Audiobook (The Bobbins Sisters Series) by Debra Parmley – Review by Laura Jones

In this book, we meet Betsy, a small-town librarian and Nash, a Marine veteran. Nash has a hard time dealing with headaches and it makes him a bit grumpy, so when Betsy first meets Nash, he’s not the most pleasant individual. However, Nash realizes that he was a little too gruff with Betsy and makes it up to her by helping her out when a winter storm comes, and her car ends up with a flat tire. He offers to give her a ride home, but she’s torn because Nash is a stranger. She gives Nash a chance and realizes that he’s a much nicer man than she had originally thought, but she’s still intimidated by him. Nash had a bad experience with his ex-fiance who didn’t want a man who only had one eye and an eye patch. He’s about to give up on women in general but ends up falling for Betsy when he realizes that she is nothing like his ex, and is in fact, exactly what he’s looking for in a woman. Then Betsy’s sister comes along and makes things difficult with her drama. Will Betsy and Nash end up together, or will the drama her sister brings tear them apart before they can even begin a relationship?

CUTTER (Devils’ Spawn Daddies Series) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Angela Shirley

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Emily has worked hard to get were she is and now she requires a blast from her past to help her bring this horrendous MC down, but will Cutter help her and can she keep her attraction towards him under cover. She has always remembered the man who as a rookie she could not help but will she redeem herself now.

Cutter is always in the cross hairs of the law, they deem him trouble and he lives up to the reputation but he is unprepared when sitting in the integration room and in walks the woman of his dreams, but when she asks him for a favour all he can dream about is the reward he may get from her.

This is not the first book I read by this author and it definitely not the last, this story is more than just BDSM and role play but it gets into the two main characters flaws and quirks and how there past played a part in the future for them.

This story is full of twists and turns and is well written, with the elements of the chemistry which flies off the page and is great to watch the relationship development and explore the world of DD/LG which was interesting to read as I had not really read much in the way of this Dom/Sub role before.

I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to read more by this author in the future.

I had really high expectations for this book as I love the MC genre but I had trouble falling in love with this one. At times the characters were a little confusing and I never felt like I had my hook where I just lost myself completely. This was my first go with this author so I am willing to try more and see if the spark comes!

Renewed (Fateful Justice Series) by Sara Vinduska – Review by Heidi Sturgess

Renewed (Fateful Justice Book 6)Renewed by Sara Vinduska
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m such a sucker for cover art ! Loving this one and it was definitely judging a book by its cover in this instance for me and yay it was a good judgement 😉

When I read the dedication I already teared up and I just want to say thank you to Sara Vinduska for being vulnerable , for sharing a piece of her heart ❣️

Hayden is out checking the ranch perimeters when he’s shot , there’s a blizzard on the way and home is far away especially in his injured state thank goodness for Gunner his trustworthy horse that gets him to safety , one of the rental cabins …..

Ruby is on the run and is hiding in a remote place , she can hear , breathe and heal she can also think of her next move , she’s just made a fire to warm her rental cabin when she sees a horse and a man slumped over in his saddle …..

Despite her fear she brings him in , he’s bleeding and has been shot after all she can’t just leave him and there I know she’s a survivor because despite her fear of her past she doesn’t hide away she takes the bull by the horns , you go girl !

Ruby and Hayden find their rhythm while she’s nursing him and like Ruby I love his milk drinking ways 😉 Hayden realises she’s on the run and being confined they start sharing with each other and there’s an undeniable chemistry between then and Hayden is a saint in so many ways , he’s gentle , patient , kind and caring but he’s also protective and when her past comes knocking on the door , things get scary but Hayden and his family are there and Ruby is enveloped within their family …..

This was a read that my heart didn’t even know it needed and the cherry on top was my milk drinking cowboy 🤠 loved every page and Ruby deserves the peace that Hayden brings to her 🥰

Elusive Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Megan Conley

Elusive Surrender (Sinful Duets #3)Elusive Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you haven’t read Via Mari’s Sinful Duets collections yet WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH YOUR LIFE?!?! Elusive Surrender is the third set of duets (containing Elusive with Sheldon and Alexis and Tenacious with Nick and Allie) and, dare I say, this may be the best one yet. I cannot tell you how many nights I stayed up way past my bedtime just because I couldn’t put it down. Mari’s character development, her plot lines, her *spice*…ugh…just everything is damn near perfect. And to top it off, you get two books in one! I think these have been, by far, my favorite collections to date. Fantastic reads…you won’t be disappointed.

Read Trigger warnings! There is an assault that is pretty brutal and could be triggering !
I really loved this book, and the writing style.
Loved that you had closure but they left one story line going into a second book. Not a huge cliff hanger but enough to keep you waiting for August to hurry up! Loved the connection that Kai and Waters have right from chapter 1. Watching them evolve and their relationship and characters develop was actually really fun and kept me wanting more.
This is also the authors first book, so she set the bar pretty high!!! Waiting for more!!

CUTTER (Devils’ Spawn Daddies Series) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Micalah Weatherholtz

Cutter: Devils' Spawn DaddiesCutter: Devils’ Spawn Daddies by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When I picked up Cutter and saw the series name Devils Spawn daddy’s it kind of peaked my interest, but I wasn’t really sure about it. I have read this author before and know for a fact that she can write! She knows how to draw you in and will keep your attention but, I mean motorcycle clubs, heists, guns, drugs, cartels, and Littles, or Middles, where do they fit into all of that. Enter Emily Mayhew, a newly appointed police detective. Her and Cutter had met on a previous bust when Cutter took the blame for Blade when he injured a guard in a warehouse, and both have been obsessed with each other since. Cutter is arrested again and Emily takes advantage of that by asking him to work for the police to infiltrate a rival MC who works with the cartel. Cutter and his MC is trying to change their 1%’er status and do more good agrees to help. I’m pretty unfamiliar with this trope and it isn’t really my jam so I found a few parts of the story a little hard to follow but I loved Cutter and His and Emily’s chemistry was undeniable and Victoria’s writing made this just what I was looking for, not to mention steamy.

Fade into the Night (Philly Heat Series Book #5) by Becky Flade – Review by Angela Hayes

Fade Into the Night (Philly Heat series, #5)Fade Into the Night by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars

Fade Into the Night is the fifth engrossing instalment in the Philly Heat series by Becky Flade. It is a fantastic, tense and intriguing romantic suspense- with an evil killer, secrets, action, tension, intensity, danger, mystery, drama, suspenseful developments, emotion, chemistry, sizzle, FBI, crime & investigation, and more.
Philly Heat is a series of standalone books, where each instalment focuses on a different ‘couple’- but there are some interconnected characters/details which tie the whole series together. I recommend reading the previous books, too- because they are fantastic reads in their own rights.
I have really enjoyed this series, excitedly pouncing on and devouring each new instalment as they release, and each new addition seems to slightly eclipse the previous ones, making it harder and harder to choose a favourite as they are all so good.
Again, these two characters, FBI Special Agent Noah Danes ad Forensic Facial Reconstructionist Sadie Porter, were skilfully crafted into fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. They were so easy to connect with, so I was so absorbed by their story, quite quickly investing in them and anticipating the outcome of their whole saga. I really felt for them and what was/and had happened. Their chemistry and connection really simmered of the pages. While the tension and suspense was entirely palpable. Their past history also added an extra element of intrigue to the overall storyline.
What happens makes for a gritty, gripping read..
Looking forward to whatever Ms. Flade does next!
Happy reading!

Thank you, Becky Flade!

Yikes! This is one story I could only read during the day! Everything is described so well that I struggled sleeping if read before bed. Creepy and scary! I really liked the pace and the suspense surrounding the main characters. I kinda suspected who “did it” so I wasn’t totally surprised. But it still rounded out nicely. The last chapter is one of my fav. as we see a change in a few people for the better.

Overall a good story that kept me engaged. This is book five in the series but can be read as a stand alone.

Fade Into the Night (Philly Heat series, #5)Fade Into the Night by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 5th book in the Philly Heat Series. Even though this book can be read as a standalone I think you will enjoy it that much that you would want to read them all. These books as one of my favourite. They are full of danger, suspense, twist and turns, romance and everything in between.
We are with Sadie and Noah. This couple has just rekindled their flame after years apart. Things seem to be going well until the killer that Noah is hunting decides to send Noah a very personal message.
I don’t want to give too much away as it would spoil the story but this is action packed from the first page . I was not able to put it down until I had finished it.
The authors writing is so captivating and gripping. I love Noah’s character. He has such a hard job which I don’t envy him for and with his own personal demons he is constantly fighting. Sadie is a character that I found tricky to get along with. I can understand why she felt the way she did at times however I think sometimes the way she treated Noah was a little uncalled for, but just like Noah she is also struggling with demons of her own.
The way the story is told in different POVs really gives the reader a better insight into the characters, their life’s and their struggles.
Will Noah be able to solve this case and stop Romeo before he strikes again? Will Sadie still be in danger until he is caught? Will Sadie always blame Noah for what happened to her? So many questions and which can only be answered by reading this book

Fade into the Night (Philly Heat Series) by Becky Flade – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Fade Into the Night (Philly Heat series, #5)Fade Into the Night by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve enjoyed the previous books in this enjoyable and engaging series and once again I was hooked throughout this latest story. In this fast paced storyline, FBI Special Agent Noah Danes’ is investigating ‘The Beltway Romeo’. Whilst in Philadelphia Noah meets up with an old friend, Sadie Potter who’s a forensic facial reconstructionist. The pair last saw each other four years ago at the sentencing of her mothers murderer. Noah and Sadie are surprised by their newfound feelings for each other, but as their relationship develops Sadie is attacked by ‘The Beltway Romeo’. For Noah this is now personal and he’s determined to catch the culprit and protect Sadie. However, Noah himself becomes the focus of his fellow profilers and fears his secrets are about to be discovered.
Meanwhile, in the aftermath of her attack Sadie is scarred, depressed and afraid and lashes out at those closest to her, including Noah. Sadie is still in danger especially when ‘Romeo’ makes it clear that he’s not forgotten her, the victim that got away. This romantic suspense was a real page turner and it kept me happily turning the pages. The descriptive narrative brings the characters and the setting vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline. Whilst the plot twists kept me guessing as to the outcome of the story, and I found the chemistry between Noah and Sadie came across in the narrative. I look forward to future books in this series!

Elusive Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Shannon Fowler

Elusive Surrender (Sinful Duets #3)Elusive Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author continues to bring us alpha males who only want to end the cruelty in the world and protect the ones they love. The 1st book in this 3rd duet is Elusive and it is book 5 in the Billionaire Bodyguard Series. The series and the duets should be read in order to fully understand The Family dynamics.
Main character, Alexis, is a hairdresser who is trying to buy a business, live her life dream of owning a salon and just simply take care of those around her. Unfortunately, she finds herself on a list, a list no one wants to be on. Human trafficking is real, and this organization has made its way into Alexis’s life. What Alexis needs is a bodyguard! A chance meeting and now she has one! Sheldon, a bodyguard for the Larussio Crime Family, is already familiar with scumbags. His job is to protect billionaires and save unwilling victims from the depths of the depraved.
This author knows how to bring us right into the crime world, how to protect us and provide us with a happy ending we didn’t even know we needed.

The next book is Tenacious, which should be Allie’s middle name! Allie is Alexis’ best friend and roommate. So, when Alexis became a target, so did Allie. Allie is an ER nurse who takes no lip from anyone. She gets the job done in a loving and caring manner and by doing so still saves lives. Another bodyguard with the Larussio family is Nick. Nick steps in to do his job of protecting and eliminating threats. However, Nick is a player and Allie has no time to play. But when these two meet all bets are off!

As there are more characters in the family, more bodyguards employed, I sure hope there will be more stories to come!

Cutter: Devil’s Spawn Daddies by Victoria Saccenti is a contemporary romantic suspense with a DDLG dynamic (she’s a Middle), BDSM, action, danger, chemistry, tension, angst, emotion, dramatic developments, mystery, secrets, intrigue, and more.
Cutter and Emily have quite the tale to tell. They have an intriguing past history that gives this story an extra layer. Things get quite intense when they team up- and not just on the ‘mission’ side of things. Their chemistry certainly sizzles. These characters are well- crafted into fully realised individuals with their own unique quirks and flaws. Both our MC’s have their own complexities- which adds an extra element of angst, emotion, and interest to the story.
Even though I am not a huge fan of the DDLG (middle) genre, it came across well in this story- but I did have trouble connecting with the characters and that was frustrating as that didn’t allow me to fully immerse myself in their ‘world’ or fully invest in them and the overall outcome of their story. But that might just be a ‘me’ issue- so if you love DD/LG and romantic suspense, then you might want to grab a copy of this and make up your own mind.
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Victoria Saccenti!

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by her. This is book five in the series which can be read as a stand alone but I highly suggest reading the previous books as well as they are just as great. I enjoy this author’s writing style that makes her books hard to put down. This is a well written story about Noah and Sadie. What happens when these two run into each other? When Sadie is attacked, can he protect her? Will they then find love within each other? They are great characters that have chemistry and attraction. Their growth throughout the story made their story easy to read. They are strong, supportive, relatable characters that bring life to the story. Their story is one of romance with some suspense. A fast paced story that is hard to put down and engaging to the end. I really enjoyed this story and I highly recommend it.

This was a great 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. The author does a great job with her writing. Noah and Sadie have a history that gets rekindled in this story. I do have to say that Sadie did push my buttons a little here and there but for the most part I liked her. Noah’s story got me in the feels. The story gets even more suspenseful and scary when a serial killer that Noah is hunting comes around. We get several twists and turns and edge of your seat moments. Fade Into the Night (Philly Heat series, #5)Fade Into the Night by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 stars

Fade into the Night is another fantastic book in the intriguing Philly Heat series.
Becky is a master at cleverly weaving stories that are engaging, mysterious, full of thrills, and are as compelling as they are engrossing. Twists and turns abound that you don’t see coming. Make sure you read these books in order because they are full of everything you could want in a romance with danger, action and thrills.
There are so many secrets, lies, threats, and evil just waiting to jump out at you. The fear and suspense is so palpable that I had to turn on all the lights. Add in romance and drama and the story ended all too soon as I was so lost in the story. Sleep was not on the agenda until I finished this book.
I love that Becky’s stories are told through multiple POV’s as you really get inside the characters heads and know what they are thinking and learn who they are better. These wonderful characters are well written, complex and fully realised. I was invested in them and yelled at the book and jumping up and down trying to help them. Yeah, hubby thought I was crazy, well crazier than normal!
Noah is after a killer but this one has gone a step too far and hurt someone close to him. He is determined that nothing more will happen to her but with a killer on the lose can he stop them before he loses it all. But on top of that his secrets are about to be revealed unless he can stop them.
Sadie is not the same woman she was not long ago. With evil out there lurking in the shadows her life will never be the same again. The pain, the trauma, the fear that goes along with that has broken her.
What can you do when evil is hiding in plain sight and you are the one that got away?
I recommend you read Fade into the Night, I know you will love it.

Cutter: Devils' Spawn DaddiesCutter: Devils’ Spawn Daddies by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cutter is a suspenseful and action-packed tale and the engrossing first book in the MC Devils’ Spawn Daddies series.
Victoria’s narrative draws you in to the BDSM world with Doms/Subs that is seductive and enticing. It contains DDMG play which I can take or leave but a dark and sexy world of BDSM and hot and sexy men are some of my favourites.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts and it interesting to see the dynamics play out in their play.
Emily has stepped up in her world and needs his help more than ever, but can she get him to help her after what she did. Who can she really trust.
Cutter is a Daddy Dominant, and he once again comes face to face with someone who has taken the spotlight in his fantasies many, many, times. When she reaches out to him will he go along with her plan, or will he walk away.
With plenty of action, suspense, drama, danger, tension, angst, emotions, and secrets it is a dangerous and deadly time as they try to take down an MC who are known for trafficking humans and much more.
I can’t wait for the next book.

I’m not going to say a lot about this book because I don’t want to give anything away. I absolutely love the character of Noah and really felt for him, especially when he opened up about his family. I wasn’t such a huge fan of Sadie though. I wanted to like her but found her almost annoying at times. I get that she was going through some immense things but really didn’t appreciate the way she acted towards Noah. That being said, I can also see why she acted towards him the way that she did.

This book is full of twists and turns! I love a book that has you guessing. I did figure out fairly early who I though the Beltway Romeo might be and I was correct. That doesn’t happen often but I guess I picked up on a few things that I don’t normally. I was on the edge of my seat for the last half of this book and couldn’t put it down until I finished it!

This is going right onto my list for best romantic suspense of the year. Noah and Sadie were in the heat of the action right from the start. They have history and when they rekindled that history along came Romeo, the serial killer, that Noah has been hunting. I can’t tell you more due to spoilers but there are twits and turns that will keep you on your toes. This author rights such wonderful stories. I can’t put down any of her stories until I finish them. I must know what happens right then. Noah and Sadie have some big baggage attached to them that they will deal with during the story and this is one relationship that kind of reminds you of the movie SPEED. Can it survive the drama and adrenaline? Well-written characters and a well-done story make for a great book. This is one book worth picking up and reading. You can also give the others in the series a shot too. It can be read as a standalone.

This was a very interesting read for an MC story. Cutter is looking for his Little and thinks he’s found her in his sexy detective. An interesting relationship to follow. This was a fairly new trope for me. The premise of the story was well-written. Watching thse two work out their issues was worth it. If you enjoy MC and the Daddy dominant/submissive trope, this would be a good book to read.

This is the first book I have read from this author and she now has a new fan. I love a good military romance but this story exceeded all my expectations. This is the first book in the Deadman’s Tribe series and I’m now hooked. I couldn’t help but to fall in love with these characters. You could read the tension between these two and I absolutely loved it. I could not put this book down until the end and wow what an ending. I can’t wait to see who she is going to write about next.

Kia Serrano is trying to become a top woman director. She is going to be making a movie that involves the military topic she needed to find a man for the job. When Kia meets Waters she doesn’t know what to think of him. He is really secretive and she loves it. She is shocked when she finds out that her brother worked for the same company as Waters. Kia also finds out he is now missing and Waters is there to protect her but from who? Will Kia and Waters find out who is hunting her and why or will it be too late?

What a wonderful story. Could this moody wounded soldier and fearful librarian come together? This story showed that challenges could be overcome and not to judge a book by its cover. I really enjoyed seeing this relationship develop. They overcame a lot. She worked through her fears to be come more confident and he learned to let another in. The narration was done well. I always wish for a male voice to do the the male. However, this narration was quite enjoyable. It’s an experience I do recommend.

This was a great read. This is a new author to me and I am so glad I took a chance on it. This story is full of action, suspense, romance, great characters and so much more. There were some twists and turns. I was kept glued to the pages throughout the entire book. The chemistry between Kai and Waters was off the charts and you can feel it jumping off the pages. Kai is a movie director and Waters is a navy seal. Neither one of these characters do relationships because of their jobs but the attraction is undeniable. There are also other really great characters in this story and one in particular that I wanted to punch in the face. I don’t want to give anything away so I will just say this is a must read! I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

This is my first audio book by this author which I enjoyed listening to.  I look forward to picking up another by this author.   It is a story that is full of mystery, action and even a little romance.   I enjoyed how the narrator  brought the story to life with the different tones for characters.  They made it easy to listen to and I wanted to keep listening.  This is Nash and Betsy’s story.  Neither one was expecting the other but what destiny has in store for them you don’t want to miss.  I enjoyed this audio and I think you will too.  I highly recommend this audiobook.
