Such a wonderful way to round out this duet series! The flow of the stories works very well, especially since, like in the first duet, the females are friends! These stories are the perfect way to round out this 3 duet series and I can’t wait to see more from Via Mari!

I think there should be a trigger warning, some people will not be able to handle the kink. For me this was a good book and informative. I’m not new to submissive and dominant roles in kink. Though it taught me about little, middle, and daddy. I highly recommend this book if your open minded. If your not open minded don’t start something you can’t finish.

Fade into the Night (Philly Heat Series) by Becky Flade – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is book #5 of the Philly Heat Series. This is the first time I have read from this author. I could not put this book down. FBI Special Agent Noah Danes is trying to catch a serial killer. The investigation leads him to an old friend, named Sadie Potter, who is a Forensic Facial Reconstructionist. The last time they saw each other they got together but that was four years ago. They rekindled their relationship but before they could really dive into it, Sadie is attacked by the serial killer (The Beltway Romeo). Can Noah keep Sadie safe and still have a relationship with her? I think you need to read it to find out for yourself.

Good Enough (The Deadman’s Tribe Series Book 1) by Nicole Craig – Review by M Policicchio

Good Enough (The Deadman's Tribe #1)Good Enough by Nicole Craig
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

If I could give half or partial star ratings, I think for the first time I would. I truly enjoyed this story and this cast of characters that I hope to see in additional entries in this series. The operators were a real Tribe.

Kai Serrano is a movie director. She has directed several different genres and made many successful pictures. She is about to embark on a new movie. A military-suspense thriller. She needs a consultant to aid in making the picture more realistic and authentic. Kai had a consultant all lined-up until he was called out on a mission and would be in the field longer than expected. This consultant called in a favor.

Enter Waters. Waters is a nickname given to by his fellow operators. At this firm, everyone has a nickname and that is all they go by. Waters is struck by Kai the moment he walks into the room for the conversation about whether or not they would consult on her film. There is something about Kai that speaks to his soul but thanks to company rules, he is not allowed to have a relationship with Kai.

Over the next several months as Kai, now nicknamed Kubrick, and Waters work on the movie together, their bond grows and deepens. All of the operators slowly develop a respect and admiration for Kubrick. As secrets and truths are revealed about how Kai got into the situation she finds herself in, Waters realizes that he can’t walk away from her. Would Waters give up everything for Kubrick?

Shortly after filming has wrapped, Kai finds herself in a sticky situation and reaches out to Waters and the guys for assistance. Waters and his guys pull out all the stops to help Kai. Will it be good enough?

Looking forward to the next one in the series to find out what happened to Ka-Bar. Are God and Cherry an item? How did God end up faceless? I can’t wait until the series reveals its secrets. Jump into this romantic thriller series now!! Totally worth it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Elusive Surrender is split into two books Elusive and Tenacious, this is the third pair in this deliciously sinful duets by Via Mari. When I tell you I ate these books up and left no crumbs, I’m not lying. That’s how good they were. They were both super spicy reads that pack filled with hot interaction, suspense, deadly danger, hot alpha males we love, mystery, and adventure that’ll keep you on your toes. I lovee reading books by this author so much, it’s always a pleasurable but emotional ride. I will say Via Mari really knows how to tell a story to the point where you don’t ever want to stop reading and keep coming back for more. like if you haven’t binge read all her stories I highly suggest you do 🤣🥰 starting with these duets (numbers 1 to 3)

Check Out Audiobook (The Bobbins Sisters Series) by Debra Parmley – Review by Robin Rankin

Check Out

I have read a few books by Ms. Parmley, and now have listened to one.

I have been home recovering and have been reading a lot. Listening to a book was a nice change of pace and I was able to listen with fewer interruptions.

Nash was an understandably grumpy man but he didn’t give off the best first impression at least to Betsy. I got pretty annoyed with Betsy at times, there was something that grated on my already too thin nerves.

Talece Brown did a good job with the narrative and keeping me engaged with the story.

This book gives you a look into the interesting world of BDSM. It also contains DDMG play, which personally I could take it or leave it. The chemistry between Cutter and Emily was off the charts, there is no doubt about that. Cutter is a Daddy Dom, while Emily is a middle. If you like dom/sub type books them I recommend giving this book a try.

Delayed Redemption (The DAG Team Series) by Kel O’Connor – Review by Jenni Bishop

Delayed Redemption: (DAG Team Book 3 Special Ops Romantic Suspense) (DAG Team Series)Delayed Redemption: (DAG Team Book 3 Special Ops Romantic Suspense) by Kel O’Connor
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Delayed Redemption is the third instalment and great addition to the DAG Team Series by Kel O’Conner. The books can all be read as standalones, but I encourage you to start with the first book and work your way through as the books.

This romantic suspense is exciting and has plenty of drama, danger, action, adventure, and of course just the right amount of steam as the DAG team once again pull together to protect their own.

Mateo has one more assignment and then he is free, but things just may take a deadly turn. Will he risk it all for someone from his past? Do they finally find the mole?

Janey has suffered more than most, but she finds herself hoping for the best but thinking the worst when she is confronted with someone from her past when she is kidnapped.

Delayed Redemption is well plotted and is as thoroughly engrossing as it is engaging. Kel’s narrative, world building, and character building is exciting and makes it hard to leave because you want to know what is coming. The characters are complex, have depth and feel realistic.

I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Elusive Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Dr. Anya Schultz

Elusive Surrender (Sinful Duets #3)Elusive Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Elusive Surrender is broken up into 2 books: Elusive & Tenacious. In Elusive, it is the story of Sheldon and Alexis. Sheldon is part of a security team (as in the first sets of duets) who accidentally runs into Alexis at a coffee shop and has to save her from an overbearing man. Sheldon has an instant attraction to her and luckily for him, circumstances lead him back to seeing her again. Alexis is a hairdresser who has an abusive past, but also struggling to seek the courage to have the relationship she wants. Alexis too is instantly attracted to Sheldon, but their relationship has to start off business because that “overbearing man” is trying to hurt and kidnap Alexis after she dismissed him. Luckily, Sheldon is in the position to safeguard her while they try to figure out who this guy is and what he wants with his future with her. This is a fast-paced story of a dominant (Sheldon) and a submissive (Alexis) trying to find their way in this entanglement. I enjoyed the story and both of these characters. She was feisty, brave, smart, and driven. He was also amazing in his protective, sweet, gentle, but dominant ways with her.
In the second book, Tenacious, this is the story of Alexis’ best friend, Allie and another member of the security team, Nick. Allie is a nurse at a local hospital who is entangled in this mess too since her and Alexis live together. However, what she didn’t realize is that Nick has been keeping tabs on her safety even when he was away. He has shown interest in her since the first time they met, but she does not want a relationship due to her past. However, when Nick takes over her detail, she starts to feel a connection to him. One night she spills a lot of info after drinking to Nick, and he sees this as his chance for an in. He comes to find out she is into the same type of “playing” as he is and they come to an agreement. They will forgo a relationship and only have a physical one at the club. However, because this “overbearing man” has so many friends they still are dealing with her and Alexis’ safety. When Allie’s life is in jeopardy, along with her friends, and many other women, she starts to have a change of heart. She starts to see Nick for the amazing man he is and things start to change. Again, this was a pretty good book, fast-paced and to the point. Allie can be a little annoying at times with her determination but ends up seeing her ways in the end. Nick, on the other hand, is a great character. He is determined, protective, patient, and good-hearted character.

Elusive Surrender (Sinful Duets #3)Elusive Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Holy wow. So much to unpack in this, but without giving anything away… Lets just do this. First, while this is the 3rd in the Sinful Duets, you can read it alone, but you really should read the other 2, so you get all the backstory. It really helps to understand the stories better, plus, they’re just really good… Also, if you LOVE broody men and sassy women, you’re gonna love these stories. Our ladies are smart and sassy, and our men are fierce and strong and PROTECTIVE.. (and SEXY) but shhh, I didn’t say that. **wink** Anyway. You’re not going to want to miss this book *or the other 2*.
They are full of all the feels. All the emotions. Lots of suspense, a little human trafficking, some BDSM… I mean, if you’re not into that stuff, you may not like these stories as much, but it’s not like hard core, so maybe just be forewarned, they’re in the story before you give it a go.

Part three has arrived with books five and six. Make sure you’re not at work and that you have nothing important to do, nor anything important planned because you won’t want to put this down. First up is Sheldon and Alexis. She finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time and in da ger to boot. A bad man has also set his sights on her and will stop at nothing to get her. Sheldon takes it upon himself to keep her safe no matter what the cost. With the story of Nick and Allie, she is in trouble for trying to do good. Her friend was in trouble and she was only trying to help. Luckily for her she has someone who us willing to do what it takes to make her see that not all men are bad.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Good Enough is the first book in the Deadman’s Tribe series by Nicole Craig. It follows film director Kai and her Navy SEAL consultant Waters as they work to film an action movie. As things heat up between them, family secrets are opened up and things get dangerous. This book has it all – a sassy, independent female lead, spice, and engaging story line. It was an intriguing opening to a new series.

I have loved this romantic suspense series. Mateo and Janey had an friends/lovers to enemies relationship that works back into more. I enjoyed the suspense of the story. The romance has a touch of spicy that makes it adds to the story. The story itself is very engaging. It does work well ads a standalone. If you have read the first two books that will help enhance the story even more. It’s thrilling, full of drama, and romance. An enjoyable read that I recommend.

Elusive Surrender (Sinful Duets #3)Elusive Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is amazing. It has all the brooding, alpha makes that we have all come to love from this series and their fabulous ways that they protect those they love from any danger. This is the continuation of the duets in the Billionaire Bodyguard series and they just keep getting better and better. I love how the author brings that characters from previous books into this, so we can kinda see what they are up to and how they are doing. They don’t play a huge roll but even a line here and there makes me feel connected to those characters that I fell in love with earlier on. These books do not let you down when it comes to steam. The characters are what you would expect a broody, over protective, alpha bodyguard to be. I love how the author always makes her women in the stories have a little sass but they know when they need help. They aren’t all, “I can do this on my own, I don’t need you” or just real ditzy. I love that they have depth and are trying to make something of themselves before they find themselves in hot water, so to say. These books contain the romance aspect, the steam that everyone loves in a romance book, then it also has an amazing storyline. It is like the trifecta of books. You won’t be able to put it down and you will feel yourself projecting the emotions of the characters while reading this. Beware, you could snap at someone next to you because you are so emotionally invested in the books. It is a page turner that I couldn’t stop reading until it was done. Since this is the third duet in the series, I highly recommend reading them in order so you have the background of some of the characters but you would be able to start with this one and go back to the others if you wanted to. You wouldn’t be lost or have an issue figuring things out.

This is book one and here we have two sides of a coin in the main characters. Kylee Parker is a police officer and works straight down the line not seeing ethnicity, right or wrong, and good guys versus bad guys. She plays fair. Jayson Donovan ended up going down the wrong road gets involved with the wrong people. They knew each other in their school days and Kylee had a huge crush on Jayson. After she arrests him he tries to rekindle their friendship, but it’s not a good look for an officer to date a criminal. Not to mention that Jayson has secrets that someone doesn’t want to get out. It could get both of them hurt, or worse. This has been a great series and I had fun reading it. I read the books out of order but never felt like I missed anything due to a continuing storyline. As always the author did a great job bringing the characters to life.

Another amazing story by this author – I really enjoyed it. I loved that the story is told through multiple POV’s I always find this enables me as a reader to fully understand each of the characters. It definitely helped in this story as I wasn’t too sure about Sadie’s character but it did enable me to kind of understand some of the ways she acted towards Noah. I really liked Noah – think I might be a little bit in love with him to be honest! He had a vulnerability that I liked about him.
There were some great twists and turns in the story which kept me guessing about what was going to happen and the action was there the whole way through.
Overall a great read and one that I would highly recommend.

I read this without reading the others in the series, I tried to look into them and believe they can all be read as standalone. Saying that it Such a good read! I have been binge watching Criminal Minds lately so I was pretty excited when I seen he was working for the BAU. The story never dragged on, right from the beginning you knew what was going on. The characters never played games with their feelings, which I loved. It was all straight to the point: “I don’t want to be around you, you’re not trusted and I want you here.” With books like these I always find myself trying to figure out who the killer is and what is going to happen next and I’m always glad when I am wrong. I like the unpredictability of the book, it was definitely one that was hard to put down.

When I picked up this book to start reading, I hadn’t read the description or the reviews at all. I saw the name of the author and that was enough. I was completely surprised by the BDSM element to the story but I think the author portrayed it really well. It entirely changed what I was expecting from the characters and it was great to just be taken along for the ride.
Cutter was definitely my favourite character. I connected with him instantly and I loved the growth we saw throughout the book. For me, the author has created one of those characters that carries the story with ease. I really enjoyed reading this story.

Fade into the Night (Philly Heat Series) by Becky Flade. I have loved this series and was so excited to get to read Noah’s story. Noah is a FBI Special Agent and he doesn’t really make time for romance. He is focused on his career 100%. Sadie is a Forensic Facial Reconstructionist and she and Noah met a while back and had a short fling. Sadie met Noah during her mothers murder trial so Sadie was deep in her feelings. When they reconnect sparks are still flying. There is also a “The Beltway Romeo” that is attacking women on the loose so Noah is working on that case along with his new found relationship with Sadie. When Sadie is attacked by the Beltway Romeo Noah is determined to find him and make him pay. When Sadie is attacked she puts some of the blame on Noah and their relationship struggles afterwards. Will they be able to work thru this attack and keep their relationship strong? Read Fade into the Night to find out! Can’t wait for the next book!

Kai is a take-no-guff, force-to-be-reckoned-with spitfire of a director in Hollywood who has big goals to do justice to her movie about a team of SEALs and is seeking professional help. Waters is a physically powerful, dangerous man working consultation jobs until he heals and who doesn’t exist by anything other than Waters. Neither of them have the time or inclination to pursue a relationship, but chemistry seems to have other ideas.

After her previous expert had to bail, he offered her help in the form of calling in a favor to others who may be able to help her in his place and this is where Kai and Waters’ irresistible draw to one another begins. It begins with Kai being able to keep her mouth under control even worse than usual, and Waters acting robotic in order to not let her see his interest in her, while the disembodied voice of ‘God’ coming from all corners of the room. What originally seems like a pretty cut and dried request with a fiery beauty of a director to Waters quickly turns into much more, and that’s not even factoring in their magnetism to one another.

As Waters learns more about Kai, he starts to catch on to her situational awareness and ability to call people for what they are as being survival defenses, but from what? Before you know it, Waters makes it his job to protect Kai from the threats, break-ins and accidents that have now led to her brother going missing. Is Kai being targeted on behalf of her brother? Is she the end goal? Will they be able to keep one another safe, or is it their hearts they need protection from?

There are some parts included that could trigger some readers with assault.

I was absolutely in love with this book from page one. I thought it was well written, had a great story flow, and was all around a well done book. I loved the FMC from the start of it; her tenacity and sass making me laugh often throughout the book. Th MMC was just the right amount of broody, and I loved watching their romance develop through the action. Highly recommend!

The cover really pulled me in and I love a good suspense book so I had high hopes but the book fell a little flat for me.
I really wanted a hook to bring me and make it so I didn’t want to put the book down and I struggled to find that moment in the book.
While I understand the premise behind the book and I’m no prude by any means this story could have been so much better without the language. Reduced by 50% the book would have had the same feel but it just seemed like overkill.
Even though I gave this book three stars I would still give this author another chance if there was a book that caught my eye.
