Eve Sawyer is coming up on the end of her semester in her journalism class and she has a final paper due. Her paper is completed but on a recent trip, she crossed Murder Creek and became intrigued by the name. As she researched the area, she learned of a cold case and decided she wanted to further investigate it. She approaches her professor, asks to take an Incomplete for the time being on her paper, and proceeds to find herself researching the case of Lacey Walken.

Eve has no idea the clues she’s going to unravel and finds herself possibly in harm’s way too.

This short little read took me just over an hour to complete. It held my interest the entire time and the story was very well written. I look forward to more reads by this author!

Conversations with the Tarot was a great descriptive book for someone trying to get into tarot or for someone who has been dabbling for some time. The author nicely breaks down the meaning of each card. After she tells you about the card, she provides a chapter on insight into that card. What I like is that she, at times, used personal stories to explain the insight. She also gives multiple possible meanings depending on what is happening in that person’s life. As a person who has dabbled in tarot for many years, I find it hard to remember each card or I have a hard time really grasping the meaning with the mundane description that sometimes comes with the cards. This book gave me a better understanding to those cards, plus her personal touch on the meaning of the cards helped me put a personal touch to the reading. When I can combine the two ideas together I tend to get more out of the reading, itself. I will definitely revert back to this book when doing tarot in the future.

Love & Stilettos was full of secret identities, manipulation, and deceitful motives. I loved every moment of this novel from beginning to end. The characters were lovable and relatable in so many ways. Granny stole my heart and I loved how determined Mitch was. With humor intertwined throughout, there were plenty of literal laugh out loud moments. I loved that this romance novel had a villain who didn’t get away with their actions. About half way through the novel I had suspicions of who the villain was but it didn’t ruin any moment of the story for me. There were plenty more twists to come following my suspicions. I highly recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys reading romance with a hint of humor and a lot of suspense. You won’t regret this one! I can’t wait to see if there is more to come for these wonderful characters.

This is a nice, clean, cozy mystery and a great book for younger readers getting into the genre. Our main character could be in school for investigative journalism but I feel she would have been better as only a detective. She was good at talking to people and linking things together. I think instead of random details about food the author could have included more on the main character, like her love for writing or other details in her life showing her connection to nature. I enjoyed the ending, I like that she solved the case and more with what happened to Lacy.

I love informative children’s stories! This has everything a parent could ask for, when it comes to explaining pet loss to a child. The way the author walked through the steps that follow a sick pet were spot on. Oscar and Emmy asked many questions along the way, which opened up conversation between the Parents, Veterinarians and Children. The pictures told the story as well. Which made for the perfect story for fur baby loss. What a great introduction to The Rainbow Bridge. This book is a must have for all children’s book shelves.

Bridget and her best friend are on what should have been her honeymoon. After she caughter her fiance cheating, Bridget needed to get away and try to find herself again. After hearing some harsh truth from her bestie she takes off with a bottle of tequila and finds herself on a beach that is deserted and turns out to be private property. Her life is about to be turned upside down. Fynix, or as Bridget comes to know him at first, Fyn, is the crown prince of Lovolia. Upon their initial meeting he doesn’t tell her that as he figured she already knew that particular detail. Imagine his surprise when he realizes that she has absolutely no idea. He didn’t intend to lie, but in the heat of the moment he didn’t exactly get around to telling the truth. Once the royal guard showed up on behalf of his mother all bets were off and Bridget felt betrayed all over again. Now a year has passed and Bridget is back to say her good-bye to Fyn and move on with her life. Fyn on the other hand is showing up in hopes that he sees her again and this time he doesn’t intend to let her walk away. This is the true beginning of their forever. Royally Complicated was a quick and easy read. The characters were enjoyable as well. I liked the no nonsense approach that the best friend Daphne took with Bridget. We all need a friend like that in our lives. This is definitely a book that should be added to your collection.

This was a really fast paced steamy romance between a Prince and a normal girl. This is the story of Fyn and Bridget.
The chemistry between Fyn and Bridget is off the charts and even though Fyn is a Prince that isn’t known by Bridget when they first meet.
Fyn doesn’t have an easy life. As Prince of Lovolia his family is expecting him to marry someone to enhance their status and produce an heir. Fyn however has other ideas. He doesn’t want to marry someone just because of their status or what they can bring to the kingdom. When he meets Bridget he was expecting to meet her once and never again but when their paths cross and Bridget learns the truth of who he is then he has to fight for the right to be with the person he wants.
Bridget is on what should have been her honeymoon but after finding out her husband to be was cheating she took the holiday with her best friend. When she meets a handsome man on the beach she wasn’t expecting anything to come of it. She definately didn’t expect to find out that he is a Prince.

As their connection grows they realise that their feelings are more that just one night thing but there are plenty of problems standing in their way. Mainly the Queen and King. Will they allow their son to be with a normal girl?

This is a fast paced romance and I love how determined Fyn is to fight of the woman he loves and how he will go against all odds to be with her.
I really enjoyed this story. After all who doesn’t want to find their Prince. Especially one as hot as Prince Fyn. Fyn and Bridget are so perfect together. Their connection is steamy and off the chart chemistry but they also perfectly fit together and are made for each other. Their journey to be together is far from an easy one and the pair have to fight for the right to be together no matter who or what is against them.

This book is a continuum from the first two books, so highly recommend you stat from the beginning. This book took a little but of a turn, from the Kodiak who was the protector now Tamaska doing the protecting and the rescue. But at what cost will it cost her to do so? This book like the last ones was filled with fantasy, paranormal romance, supernatural, action, danger, chemistry, mystery, suspense, adventure and so much more it will be hard for you to put down. I highly recommend this series it really hooks you in from the development of the characters to the suspense of the story line.

This is book 2 in the series and highly suggest that you read the first book before you dive in here. Even thou there is enough information thought the book that you could, this one starts off right were book one left us standing. This is were Tamaska finds out that Kodiak is a shaft sifter or to be exact a werewolf. Something Tamaska doesn’t like shifters, but she finds herself still having feelings for him and can’t stop thinking of Kodiak. Once again, this story is filled with fantasy, supernatural beings, a quest, action, adventure, danger, drama, chemistry, suspense, and so much more that it kept me reading. Just like the first book this one took a hold of me and wouldn’t let me go till I was done and know what had happened in the story. This book did not disappoint and I’m so glad there was another book to the first, highly recommend this series.

I was extremely surprised over this book. I usually don’t do the romance books but this one being supernatural I figured id give it shot. And this book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I couldn’t read it fast enough to know what was going to happen next. The book was well written and took a hold of me right away, the writing of this book was so well described that it really felt like I was standing there listening in on everything that was happening. This book was filed with drama, chemistry, action, suspense, murder, supernatural beings, and so much more. Tamaska is and independent woman who is strong-willed, stubborn, hardworking, and does what she wants and doesn’t listen to anyone. Which I totally related with her the most. Kodiak was hired to protect her and really doesn’t want to and is stubborn about it too. The love hate relationship these two have was very interesting to read, because we all know they liked each other but felt the need to not show it. this book was extremely good, and I can’t wait to read the next one.

What a story! Wow! The action, drama and suspense is filling all the pages. I enjoyed getting to know Neve and Con and watching their relationship grow. They also have excellent sleuthing skills which they put to good use in here.

I have not read the previous story. This is a listed as a stand alone and zi had no problem following along with the characters. References were made and explained which really helped out.

A Forever Kind of Thing by Carrie Thomas and Melinda Harris

A Forever Kind of Thing is a wonderfully written Contemporary Romance/YA that once I started reading I couldn’t stop reading and read it in one long sitting. I’m new to these authors but im already a fan. Their style of writing and attention to detail made me feel like I was back in high school dealing with all the things that are high school. Their characters are relatable, fully developed and made the story come to life and made it fun to read. Mina and Wes have been best friends since fifth grade. Mina was the target of being bullied by many and didn’t feel like she belonged. But Wes saved her in more than one way that is until he up and left with no goodbye or nothing. Lots changed in five years and when Wes reappears senior year she finds herself struggling to keep up the appearance. I truly enjoyed reading this book and fell in love with both Wes and Mina. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from both these authors.

Tamaska and Kodiak are of course back in this continuation of their story and the risks are higher than ever. You will 100% be captivated right from the start by this fantastic, action packed Paranormal Romance. I can’t wait for more from this amazing author.

What an interesting read! I thought that the insights she gave to the cards were very well thought out, and it’s clear just how much she connects with the meta world around her. Honestly, it takes a lot of vulnerability to put things like that into the world around you, let alone into a book that lots of people are going to read. I know I’m going to be musing through this book multiple times, and I recommend it to anyone struggling to understand their cards and just starting their journey!

This is the first book I have read by this author, so I didn’t know what to expect. I’m glad I decided to take a chance. As soon as I started reading this book I was hooked. I found this story to be so much more than the typical rock star story. The author wrote this story in such a way that it became so captivating that I got invested in the characters and was taken on an emotional journey. This story is full of drama, heartache, love, loss and so much more. I don’t want to give anything away so I will just say that this is a must read. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I highly recommend this book.

Andrea Fehsenfeld is a first time author for me and, boy did she deliver an emotional whirlwind! I was not ready for the depth of emotion I felt while reading A Rainbow Like You. From the beginning, I knew this wasn’t going to be a typical “rock star” story. The characters, even the seemingly minor ones, had a personality, a backstory. The characters are so realistic, believable, and likeable, and the eventual camaraderie between Adrian and Hastings was so heartfelt that I couldn’t help but fall in love with the characters. The same descriptive detail used for the character development was also used throughout the book in the world building. From the vivid details of the tour bus to the sights and sounds from onstage, I felt like I was right in the middle of the story. I am looking forward to reading more by Andrea Fehsenfeld.

Wickstrom has done it again! She has taken a unique twist to teaching kids about constellations using Shirl and Eee-ahh’s friendship and adventures. I love how she always integrates cool stories with scientific based facts into her books. She also throughs in acceptance and tolerance as well. At the end of the book, she has great information about constellations as well. I highly recommend this book for your star and space loving littles!

Eve is a character that you will love. I fell into the story right from the start. She got hooked on the story of Murder Creek just as much as I was hooked into her story. I couldn’t put this story down. I loved how much her passion kept her going as people tried to divert her attention away from the mystery. This is one of those stories that keeps you engaged because of many things. The characters are quite entertaining. The mystery is one that you have to keep going because you have to figure out who did it. People turning her away just had the opposite effect, she just kept going. This is a quick read and I can’t wait for the next story to come out.

Although I liked this book lesser than some of the other scientifically based Lois Wickstrom’s books, it is still worth reading. An alien comes to Earth and tells stories his culture tells of the sky, which leads into learning about constellations, complete with diagrams of real constellations in the back. I did enjoy how the story has the characters taking turns telling their version, and the fact the teacher doesn’t question why an alien is in her classroom shows great inclusivity! As with all the books in this series and Lois Wickstrom’s other books, colorful, engaging illustrations accompany the text.

Rocket Ship Made of Stars is a fun story by Lois Wickstrom. It is an educational look at constellations for children aged 4 to 8 years. We first met Shirl and her new friend Eeh-ahh in the book I Am An Outer Space Alien (I am an Alien).
Impressionable little minds open up to any and all possibilities of other life forms and whole new worlds beyond the stars. Lois helps with shaping and the development of young ones as they once again go on alien adventures.
The story of Eeh-ahh the Alien and her world is brought to lie with vivid, colourful and bright illustrations by Nicolas Milano.
Who doesn’t love a good story with Aliens, Rocket ships, stars and much more?
There are many more adventure stories just waiting for you to explore from Lois.

This book tackles very difficult topics in a great way. It’s written in a way that young readers will be able to understand and appreciate what they are reading. Grief is always a hard thing to explain to children but this book does an excellent job of making it easier.

A cute kids book about constellations! I enjoyed reading it with my kids, they are a bit older and are good readers. We had a good discussion about constellations after we finished reading. I enjoyed reading about Shirl and her alien friend Eee-ahh going to school. The kids and the teacher are inquisitive and everyone seemed to learn a great deal about constellations and seeing them from different points of view. I think younger kids that are interested in stars would really enjoy this story.

I love Tarot and Oracle cards and get so excited over a new opportunity to read about Tarot. I was excited to stumble across Conversations with Tarot and loved the unique format of the book. So many books start with the Fool’s journey and I loved that this book started with the Ace of Wands the and urge for new beginnings for the author. The poem introduction for each card was very well written and the insights were personal yet educational. I think the two of cups was my favorite but perhaps that’s my own personal attachment to the card.. I really felt like I was talking Tarot with a close friend and it was so much more exciting than a wordy text. It’s difficult to write a review on such a unique type of book but I will definitely be adding a paperback copy to my Tarot shelves!

This is the longest Lois Wickstrom book I have read and I love to see something that is for some older children than usual. This story focuses on somewhat of a heavier topic than her usual fare so I would not recommend this one for her usual preschool / kindergarten crowd, but it is more for late elementary.
In this story we meet a main character who has an undocumented immigrant for a mother and a father who was U.S. Military. However, he passed away before being able to marry, Xenia’s, (the main character) mother. This means that Xenia and her brother are U.S. citizens. This is a reality for many children living in the U.S. right now. Lois Wickstrom does a great job addressing this in a way that is accessible to children this young and does not make it stigmatizing in any way. She also shows the challenges that this poses Xenia and her family and how they have to try to avoid drawing attention to themselves. When their worst fears come to fruition Xenia and her family have to get creative to see each other and also have to rely on the kindness of others.
This is quite possibly the best Lois Wickstrom book I have read and I love the way she addresses this topic. She handles this reality in such a light hearted way that does not make it inaccessible to the children who read it. But it also does a great job of really showing the reality for families in these situations. I highly recommend this one!

Children will love reading this book, especially if they are interested in the patterns amid the stars!! I loved this book and I’m not a child!

Shirl takes Eee-ahh to school with her where they hear stories all day long. When the teacher asks Eee-ahh where she is from, Eee-ahh proceeds to draw a series of stars and then connects them. The class learns all about constellations and the different names for them.

This is beautifully illustrated and is recommended for all ages, but especially those in the 4-9 year old age group.

I am so completely and totally obsessed with this series. I’m not sure why I am as deep as I am, but want more and I count the days until the next book releases. If you haven’t read at the very least Cruel Start then stop here and go read that first, it’s the prelude to this book. But I recommend starting with the very first book Savage Start, you can thank me later.

Phoenix needs to learn to trust people outside of his brother and cousins. I think if he let go some of what’s bothering him he wouldn’t be as angry and that would go a long way.

So many things happen in this book and we learn a little more about Phoenix, his grandfather and rest of his immediate family not including Damon and Cole. I could not put this book down and thankfully I had a nice long weekend so I could stay up late reading.

This book ends on a cliffhanger which usually bothers me but not in this instance because I know when I will have the next book in my kindle and ready to read.

I wasn’t even a full chapter in when I knew this book was going to be a struggle to put down. I was entirely invested in Mia’s life and if she was going to regain her friendship with Mitch and grieve Xavier. I couldn’t wait for Jeff to text her again and knew that Shelly or Granny would have great words of wisdom for her.

This book is so well written that it’s easy to sit down and binge chapter after chapter without realizing time going by around you. The twists and turns kept me so interested, I couldn’t help but continue reading.

This book is a great reminder that things aren’t always what they seem and you should be honest & brave instead of waiting for the “right time”.

This one really goes on a ride! I enjoy Willow and the path she takes. I am mot a fan of witches as they are usually so sneaky. Willow surprised me. She seemed weak but shockingly she has a backbone. Campania is a master vampire with some pretty impressive powers. He seems a little cold and one sided until “it” happens. You know. That moment when he realizes he would do ANYTHING for her. That changed my mind about him. It was nice to see the characters from the previous stories. Their sass still reminds me of their stories and fun times. Overall another good installment to this series

This was a beautifully written story. I was not prepared to feel the level of emotions I did when reading this book. The story of Adrian and the typical rock and roll lifestyle, all the problems that is involved with that type of lifestyle and where he finds himself now. Alone, isolated from his band mates, toxic relationship with his father and his ex and now struggling to find the creativity to write new material for the band. His life feels like its spiralling out of control and then Hasting appears hidden on his tour bus.
Hasting is 13 years old and a runaway. Adrian knows she needs to return home but when that proves no longer possible he realises he can’t leave her alone in this world.
The connection between Adrian and Hasting grows as they both let down their guards and learn to trust each other.
Hasting is synesthete which means she sees colour in music and musical notes. Could this insight be the key to unlock Adrian’s inability to write?
There is so much to this story that apart from Adrian’s and Hastings growing friendship, there is also romance for Adrian’s and a vendetta from a journalist that threatens everything Adrian’s holds dear.
This book is a gripping read that I couldn’t put down. Adrian isn’t a Saint and has made some questionable decision along the way however in his heart I believe he acted in the way he saw best at the time. The way he took Hasting in and cared for her was really heartwarming to see and it was amazing to watch their relationship grow and how they both helped each other in more ways than they even realised.
