Started out slow and I was a bit worried as I really wanted to read it. However, it picked up, slow burn clean romance novel. Rachelle is fantastic with character building- independently but also once they get coupled up. Amazing independent development and relationship development. I love reading her stories alone for that. Definitely recommend to others 😊

A cute story about what goes on in and around rivers and lakes. It is a good book to get kids interested in nature. The illustrations are beautiful. I have read quite a few books by this author with my 7 year old son. We always enjoy them.

Another Detective Dylan story! My 7 year old son and I have read a few of these in the series. We always find them to be fun and entertaining. This one deals with Dylan going to camp with his sister. He is pretty bummed at first, especially when it rains the first few days. Then, things start to look up when it’s time for camp games! But, the trophy goes missing! The camp owner says no games until the trophy is returned. Looks like a mystery perfect for Dylan! He ends up being joined by his sister, his dog, and a couple others on the hunt for the suspect. The list ends up getting bigger and bigger before they track down the culprit. Read to find out who stole it, and more importantly, why!

Night Sweats and Hockey Nets is the third instalment of Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart’s Hot Flash Hookups series, and follows Nikolai Drugov, a hockey player in the midst of a custody battle with his ex-wife over their young daughter, and Chloe, a widow who has recently moved to Florida and is currently going through menopause. Like Mood Swings and Hockey Flings, it was really refreshing to read a romance story focused on two leads in their late thirties/early fourties rather than their twenties. Chloe feeling like she was starting over so late in life and still finding happiness, and everything she’s ever dreamed of, can and should be an inspiration to all. My favourite character was Chloe and my least favourite character was probably Peyton. I recommend this book because it’s a refreshing read and a good love story with a happily ever after. I also feel like the authors did a good job of portraying the voice of someone who speaks English as a second language. ‘My voice sounds foreign—a sharp strum on a cable stretched tight enough to snap.’

The Discovery of Magic is an intriguing read and L.J. has craftily woven plots amongst plots as the adventure of new worlds, magic, mayhem and friendship ride out in this epic fantasy. The story starts out strong but there are a few ebbs and flows along the way that slow things down at times, but it does sort itself out and was still an interesting read. The Discovery of Magic is told in multiple POV of the engaging characters, and it is those friendships/relationships that make the story. It is a journey where there is magic and many things for them to learn and explore as they travel through portals, worlds and people. But there are also lies, secrets, and conniving and menacing characters that they must deal with along the way. Things were left unanswered in the end, so we have to wait for the next book to see how things pan out.

5 stars Reunion is a fun and refresh look at a supernatural/paranormal urban fantasy tale full of action. It’s great to see more authors turning to heroines that are not what most would consider the normal age. No, this heroine is over 40 and can kick ar$e and drink with the best of them. Being the keeper of Hells Gate a place of evil will do that to a gal. Reunion is jam packed full of action, suspense, and humour and so much more. It has all the elements I love in a great book. I loved this book. I loved the character, Meg. Actually, I enjoyed the witty and quirky characters that Jocelyn brought to life. Meg not only has to save the world but deal with the supernatural once again to boot, but she must deal with real life problems as well family, kids, friends and I use the term loosely at times, animosity, and much more. Jocelyn has cleverly crafted a tale that is a tangled web of complex threads to bring about something that readers will thoroughly enjoy. This wonderful fast-paced tale is the first book in The Hell Gate Chronicles, fantasy series and what a start it is. I can’t wait for more of these characters and the mayhem they get into.
Heaven Only Knows is the third book in the Silver Buckle Brides series by Laurie Lewis. This is a woman’s fiction/contemporary romance that packs an emotional wallop. A wonderful story about second chances, overcoming pain and loss- faith, hope, and finding where you belong. The Silver Buckle Brides series follows the Brockbank brothers on their individual journeys to finding love. And this time it is Barrett’s turn. And what an angsty tale Ms. Lewis has delivered. A heart-tugging, slow burn story of finding love unexpectedly, imbued with culture, and the spirit of New Orleans. I love all of Ms. Lewis’s books, and I love how she infuses so much heart and soul into her stories, leaving them brimming with emotion. Her characters are always so well developed and have so much depth to them, they really bring the story to life and deliver all the ‘feels’. Looking forward to the next release from Ms. Lewis! Acheron is a Vulture Shifter, an outcast that has been shunned by other shifters for touching the dead. Someone has to though, right? He has been feeling restless as of late but has the opportunity to travel to the town of Mandara at the request of a dying soul. There he meets Clarissa, the dying soul that requested his presence, and Errapel who happens to be his mate. Acheron follows the rules and one of the major ones is that he should never take a mate. How can fate have played such a cruel joke? Will Acheron and Errapel get a happily ever after? This was a quick read that can be read in about 30 minutes. I have read a few other books by this author, even under another pen name, and they were all good. I enjoy the writing style and how she described these characters. There was a lot packed into roughly 60 pages and I wanted more once it ended. I will hold out hope for a longer version.
L. J. Evias is a first time author for me, but after reading The Discovery of Magic, it certainly won’t be the last. The Discovery of Magic is the first book in the Intrigue of Magic Series. This Young Adult Fantasy book is lengthy, 545 pages, but has so much included; drama, mystery, danger, friendship, “normal” teenage angst, and of course, magic! The world building is amazing; I could feel the tension and confusion as Alice and her friends navigate the magical world of Parsa, see the desert sands of South Parsa, and experience the opulence of the palace in North Parsa. The characters in this book are all well-constructed, realistic (even the magical characters), and believable. While Alice, Jamie, Jordan, Emily, Yasmin, and Darien are the main characters, there are many other engaging individuals who make the story complete. Told from different point of views, The Discovery of Magic has plenty of twists and turns that connect to one another in an oddly satisfying way. I cannot wait for the next book in the Intrigue of Magic Series.

Acheron is a vulture shifter and he is going to the city on a mission but he must be careful as his kind is not wanted in the city. Yet Acheron feels a pull to the city that he cannot ignore. When Acheron meets Errapel he realizes just what has called to him. This is an interesting book that dealt with different shifters than I am used to. I found the journey that Acheron and Errapel go on an engaging read. The two are good together and it was nice to see the way their bond builds. It was nice to be along for the ride as the two decide if they are going to grab and hold on to what they could have or let it slip through their fingers. Their story is a quick read that pulls you into the world and its characters leaving you wanting to return to this world for more from these characters.
In order to understand this book, you must read the prior 3 but I promise it’s worth it. Titania’s “death” has protected her realm from Sonia…or so she hopes This leaves Titania to hide in the dark, in the shadows in a simple cabin in the woods. However Titania has never been one to sit idly by when her people need her and the simple life is just not giving her the stimulation she needs even with Foster intermittently at her side. When earthquakes break out and fae start losing their livelihoods Titania can’t resist and starts heading to help in a disguise, but her secret won’t remain a secret forever and Foster is desperate to protect her. Can Titania save her realm from Sonia and the chaos she brings? Is she ever going to be satisfied with the simple life Foster wants with her, or is that going to come crashing down as she’s unable to control her impulse to help.
Such a great series I enjoyed immensely and worth every moment of reading.

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the start. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next. Kat witnesses something that puts her in extreme danger. Will Maddi be able to help her? Can Nate keep both of them out of danger? I don’t want to say much more and give away anything. Overall I really enjoyed this book. There were twists and turns that added a great element to the story. The characters were great. We get danger, secrets, mystery and so much more. This is part of a series. I would suggest reading all of them, but this can be read as a stand along. If you are looking for a great series to read, 1-click and get started today. Luca Magoo, Don’t Eat the Glue had me laughing out loud! It is a silly and fun rhyming children’s book. Luca is excited for art class and is curious about how glue would taste. His teacher yells at him to NOT eat it!! Is startles him and gets his imagination running wild. He imagines all the things that might happen if he ate glue. I like how there are key words that are written in different fonts. It made things more fun. The rhyming was mostly good- forced in some places but it flowed well. I highly recommend this book as a fun and silly story to get the giggles out.
Join Angela in her towns pig wrestling competition. She has her eyes on winning the pig but the Town bully is standing in her way. Can she outwit him and persevere to win the competition? This was an adorable story with many good themes. My six year old read it to me with a little help from mom.she loved the story anf I enjoyed the many great lessons such as perseverance, standing up for yourself. Competing fairly and many others. The illustration was also adorable. Well done!

I should have read the description of Night Sweats and Hockey Nets before I read it. I usually choose books simply off the cover and title. This book is pretty steamy, which it is warned about (again, had I read the synopsis). It is the 3rd book in the series, but the only I’ve read. It can be read standalone. Overall I enjoyed the story and the little details the author added. The characters really came alive and their friendships and relationship shined off the page. Despite the detailed scenes that are beyond my typical reading, I would read the others in the series.

The Discovery of Magic is the first book in the The Intrigue of Magic series. This new fantasy series delves into the world of Alice and her friends. She has convinced her parents to let her compete for a highly prized scholarship. In doing so, Alice and her friends discover a new realm after going through a portal. Will Alice and her friends get through their adventurous ordeal? The story builds characters, the story, and the world well. Once I got into the book, I wanted to know what would happen to the characters. The POV changes to tell what happens with each main character once separated. It took me a bit to nail down each storyline, but it made the book enjoyable with so many different aspects to consider. I was left wanting more. I look forward to reading the next book to see what happens next.

Fate, Frankincense, & Funerals by Naomi Valkerie is a short but interesting MM fantasy romance. While a quick read, I enjoyed the twists and the unique Shifter types you don’t see often! I do wish there was more, as several things intrigued me about Acheron, Errapel, and Carissa, as well as the way their world reacted to them. I can’t ever seem to put down Naomi’s books, and always look forward to seeing more from her!
This was a fun quick read. Holland finds herself at a new school her junior year in high school. She also finds herself crushing on two guys. She didn’t realize the drama having a crush on these two would cause., but in all fairness the drama isn’t her fault. She made some good friends even though she misses her friends from her old school. This author wrote an excellent YA romance that I think young adults will enjoy. This is a must read if you want to find out which crush Holland chooses. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I recommend this book.

This story if what happens when she finds herself crushing on not one, but two guys!
A Tale of Two Crushes was fast-paced and dropped the reader back in high school right along with Holland. Holland was a fun character and all her new friends were fun and easy to follow too. There was teenage drama, lots of angst, tension you can feel, and the making of the best of friendships forged in this story. It’s a good clean YA read.

Everyone seems to like Abby and enjoy her food truck in the town of Herd…well, except for the local historian, Joe. And for good reason…she is hiding a secret and Joe is determined to figure it out. When the secret must come out in order for Abby to claim what is rightfully hers. However, the town has always though of her family as the villain in their story and she doesn’t know whether or not the townspeople will be able to see beyond her last name. Add in some feelings (both love and hate) and you’ve got quite a conundrum. When all the cards are on the table…will Joe, and the rest of the town, be able to look past the deceit?
This was a quick and easy read that I enjoyed. There were many layers to this story and I enjoyed watching them all come together. It’s a good story of someone trying to be more than the history of their last name. I have enjoyed the previous books in this series…but you do not need to have read them to understand the story. I was happy to be back in Herd…and look forward to what will happen next.

“Loved and Lost” is the second book in the Braebeach Rockstar romance series by Loriana. It can be read as a standalone even though it is part of this series. It tells the story of young love and heartbreak, and the challenges the characters face. The characters experience real insecurities in this tale of second chances in love. Tommy once loved her but left her when he was on his way to fame with the rock band Koolum Law and the promise of women. He’s had his share of women and problems. Now that he’s back in town, she’s just what he needs. This time, he’s determined not to let her slip away. This man made me want to strangle him in the beginning I was not a fan, but he does have some redeemable qualities in the end. Angie once loved him, and now that he’s back, can she resist him for a second time, or will she find the love she once craved? Will her past remain in the past, or will it come back to disrupt her happiness? I just wanted to hug this woman who has been through so much. But she is strong and doesn’t let anything keep her down for long.

4.5 stars A Safe Place is book 6 in the suspenseful series Philly Heat. A Love Restrained is the first book in this series and you should start there before delving into the others working your way through. You won’t be disappointed. There are twists and turns and a web of cleverly woven threads to make this another engaging mystery. It is full of drama, fear, thrills, secrets, lies, threats, danger, and a murderer. A Safe Place is a compelling tale and so engrossing that it is easy to get lost among the pages. The characters are complex and fully realised and very relatable. Becky certainly puts them through their paces. Maddy is trying to help a runaway but there is more going on behind the scenes. Will she be able to keep her safe or will she be in the crossfire. Nate will do anything to keep his baby sister safe, but can he do that with a murderer on their heels? I think this book is my favourite to date, but I have thoroughly enjoyed them all.
This wonderful book is a rollercoaster ride of emotions, love, joy, anger and sadness just to name a few, that had me hooked right from the start. Tommy and Angie held me captive and wanting happiness for them both. I just couldn’t read it fast enough, I had to know what was going to happen. This is the first book I have read by this very talented author and it definitely won’t be the last. As this is book 2 in the series I will now be returning to book one to catch up.

Meg is definitely a true powerhouse of a character . As well as having her special powers she is strong, Independent and seriously funny which drew me totally into the creative storyline created by this wonderful author. It is great when you find a new author but when you find one that gets you this hooked on their writing its an AMAZING feeling!! I am completely hooked on this series now. I am 100% a new fan and can’t wait for more!

Romance has always been my preferred genre, young couples falling in love and figuring it out. As I have aged I find myself comparing the characters to my adult daughters. This series is the first one in quite a while that I can relate to the main female characters.
Chloe while younger than me is starting to go through that change so many of us women dread while she is also starting over after so many years away from home.
Nikolai the broody goalie for the Storm Chasers is focused on his daughter and playing. He doesn’t feel like he can divide his time more than that.
Lots of build up between the two and some incredibly hot moments after the succumb to their feelings.
I have loved each of these books, but think this may be my favorite so far. Looking forward to the next one. Hoping it will be Rhodes that falls next.
