Nessie and the Celtic Maze (Nessie's Grotto)Nessie and the Celtic Maze by Lois June Wickstrom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This has been the cutest series we’ve read in a long time! This is the third book in the Nessie’s Grotto Series, and it is quite an entertaining adventure. Lois Wickstrom is one of our favorite authors, so my kids and I read this together with excitement. The way this world is portrayed is so magical and makes me wish we were part of it. You’re grabbed from the very first page and your attention is held throughout the entire book. We follow as we try to find Princess Sheona, who is Nessie’s Daughter. She’s stuck in a maze, and it seems like all hope is lost. Can Linda and Craig get to her in time? I highly recommend picking this up and enjoying it with the younger ones in your life!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book as I hadn’t read any of their previous work before, but I was blown away! I am a huge fan of anything paranormal, vampire, or romance, so this was right up my alley. Little did I know that I was going to find myself actually laughing out loud at multiple points. I loved the character development, the flow of the story, and the plot. I really don’t have anything to complain about in this book other than I wanted more! I am absolutely going to pick up the rest of the books in the series because this author has crafted an unforgettable story here. The quirkiness here went straight to my heart, and I can’t wait to pass it on to my friends. I highly recommend picking up this book even if it doesn’t seem like your jam!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The first book in this series was amazing, but this book somehow topped it! It’s just as fast paced as the first book and entertained me from the very beginning to the last page. The theatrical production was incredibly accurate and felt like I was there. Getting to know Marcy and Mike was such a fascinating journey because he is such a Grumpy Gus and she can read auras. The character development is top notch, and the story flows very nicely. While you can definitely read this book as a standalone, you really won’t be able to stop there so go ahead and pick up the first book now. A fun book with romance, great chemistry, mysterious happenings, and unpredictability will certainly keep your attention for the day!

This was the first book I had read by this author, and it was an amazing start! It’s a historical romance but with a healthy dose of mystery involved as well as some ghostly encounters. I feel like I’m pretty good with predicting where a book is heading, but this is one that kept me on my toes the entire way through! Just when I thought I had it figured out, it snapped me a different way. I loved it! The romance has some steam to it but doesn’t rely on it for the base of the plot. The chemistry between Tess and Trey is out of this world! The scenes were described with such craft that you feel like you’re experiencing the story firsthand. I highly recommend picking this up if you’re looking for a fast-paced read with a dual timeline, this should be your next book without a doubt!

My family and I have read several picture books by this author, so we were extremely excited to see her branch out into chapter books. I was a little hesitant as picture books are quite different, but pleasantly surprised to find that I enjoyed this even more! My kids are 8 and 12, and I’m obviously a tad older, but we all gathered around and read this book in one day. I loved the cover immediately, and once I read the synopsis, I knew we were going on an adventure! The flow of the story is marvelous and seamless. I never felt jolted out by an oddly placed fact or chapter. This was such a fun and mysterious adventure where you’ll have a lot of questions that will absolutely get answered. This was my first book by this author, and I am absolutely blown away! I had no idea how much I was going to love this, but I’ve recommended it to several of my friends already. I enjoyed getting to know the polycule and their different personalities as well as how their relationships with each other varied. I laughed out loud at a few scenes in this book which is a hard task to accomplish. There are plenty of emotions ranging from spiciness, love, angst, sadness, and more. If you like your romances on the vanilla side, this is probably not the book for you. I also truly love that the author does not rely on the steamy scenes to makeup the entire storyline. They are great additions, but even without them this book would have been amazing! I cannot wait for the rest of this series to come out because I need more!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve read a few books by this author, but this is hands down my favorite so far! I read the prequel, House Valdis Origins: Xenobia, and it was such an amazing teaser that I was chomping at the bit to get to the official start of the series. Once I opened the book, time no longer existed (sorry to my responsibilities) as I was absolutely captivated and read straight through! The story became a movie in my head as the flow of the story was perfection. It also has multiple points of view which is an automatic brownie point for me! Xenobia is a force to be reckoned with, and definitely not someone you want to cross. There are scenes of meditations and dreams that are hard for me to explain, but some of my favorite parts of the book! If you enjoy sci-fi mixed with paranormal, then you will fall in love with this book. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

I am never, ever disappointed by this author, so I grabbed this book up as quickly as I could! I wasn’t really into the sports romance genre until I came across Tam DeRudder Jackson came along and provided a whole new perspective. Piper and Wyatt are two of my favorite characters, and as expected, the author did a brilliant job captivating every single facet of their personalities. Piper has had such a difficult time lately, and her ex isn’t making it any easier. Wyatt steps in to help because he has a different kind of attraction to her…but Piper has pulled the plug on any relationship possibilities. Dark Sky at Dawn (Free Men and Dreamers, #1)Dark Sky at Dawn by Laurie L.C. Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read one book from this author before which I loved, so I picked this one up even though it wasn’t my normal go-to genre. I am so happy that I did because Laurie L.C. Lewis has such a magnificent way of crafting their stories that I haven’t found anywhere else. From two books, I have moved her to my watch list so I can pick up more! I cannot believe that I felt completely immersed in the 1800s, as silly as that may sound. The world around me ceased to exist as I invested myself in the characters. I felt like I was on an emotional rollercoaster throughout reading about the War of 1812. You can truly feel the amount of heart that was poured into this work of art, and even after finishing the book it stays with you for quite a while. This is the second book in the Butterflies Fly Free series, and I loved it just as much as I did the first! I know when I pick up a book from this author that I need to cancel my day because I will be completely absorbed in reading. From the very beginning, I was transported to the 1920s with scenes being perfectly set from outfits to the dialogue used. Suki is a dancer who has had her eye on a gentleman, Frank, that keeps coming to the club with his boss…Al Capone. The chemistry between them is sizzling from the moment they meet and only gets better! I read this in one sitting and loved the mafia action and romance throughout. Although this is part of a series, you can read it as a standalone with no confusion. You’ll likely circle back to grab the first anyways as this one will keep you entertained for sure!

I couldn’t put it down because I was drawn into Ashton and Zachary’s lives from the very beginning. I enjoyed the development of each character and felt it portrayed their chosen lifestyle pretty perfectly. Their chemistry leaps off the pages and refuses to be ignored. The flow of the story is fantastic, and there is plenty of spiciness here as well. While I liked the addition of the steamy scenes, the author did not rely on them to be the base of the plot, which I appreciated! This is the second book in The Serrulata Saga, and it was just as incredible as the first! I wouldn’t recommend reading this as a standalone as it picks up right where the first book left off. There is also a great amount of detail overall, which I absolutely love, so getting the feel of the first one would help tremendously. You get to experience this story from multiple points of view, and I love that because it lets you get into the character’s minds a bit more. The depth of the characters is something that I have a hard time finding anywhere else.
