Everyone in my household loves it when I bring a book home by this author. Many of them have been shorter picture books, but we have also found a few chapter books as well. This is kind of in between and has definitely made it to our favorites list! I read this with my 8- and 12-year-old and the first thing they noticed was the illustrations. They are simple yet beautiful, and I feel they are helpful to my younger kiddo who can get distracted easily. The mini mysteries are marvelous in length and content! If you’ve ever had a kid in their ‘why’ phase, this book is a great choice for you. I love it when they ask questions, and this book is here to answer them. We really enjoyed all of the facts after the mysteries and even experimented with some that we noticed. I highly recommend having this in your library, daycare, or home to experience with the young ones in your life!

The excitement that ran through me when I finally got the chance to read this book was insane! This is the second book in the Clumsy Little Hearts Trilogy, and I had been looking forward to picking it up for some time now. Though I will definitely sing the praises of the first book and recommend that you read them in order, you could get away with reading this one as a standalone if you would like. That being said, the author does have recurring characters throughout her books so you will get a better experience with reading them all. I love the author’s writing style and have started to pick up more of their books. Rachel and Miguel may just be a couple of my favorite characters now. They are both relatable and something about Rachel pulled at my heart quite a bit. Miguel is such a sweetheart and makes the perfect book boyfriend in my opinion! If you are in the mood for a contemporary romance with emotional pasts and wonderful chemistry, look no further than this book. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series!

I had only read one book by this author before, but I really enjoyed it so I picked this one up as well. This turned out to be such a cute and romantic story! I truly love the main characters, Tess and Ryan. The chemistry and banter between them felt so natural and made it a joy to read about their relationship. The author’s writing style is subtle yet addictive, and I found myself finishing the book not long after picking it up. The flow of the story is natural and unfolds at a wonderful pace. I highly recommend picking this up if you are a fan of contemporary romances with relatable characters. I am so excited to pick up the next book in the series because I absolutely need more of this author’s writing!

This was the first book I had read by this author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect going in. The cover stole my attention and after reading the synopsis, I thought I’d give it a go. The first chapter pulled me in quite easily and before I knew it, I had read the entire book in one day! The author has such a unique way of crafting the story that makes you lose all sense of time, so I hope you have finished your errands before you pick it up. The chemistry is easily felt between the characters, and they definitely were thrown on an emotional rollercoaster of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I am a sucker for a possessive MMC, so Declan was right up my alley. I am absolutely looking forward to picking up many more books by this author. I highly recommend giving this one a chance if you enjoy age-gap, second-chance romances!

This is the second book in the Gemstone Massacre series, and I enjoyed it even better than the first! The series is uniquely original and will captivate ages well outside the target range. It definitely felt like a quicker read than I had anticipated, but I do find that happens often with any really good stories. One of my favorite parts about this book was the inclusion. It’s always refreshing to come across an author who can weave inclusion into a story so naturally. The development of the characters is remarkable and made them feel relatable. The story flows at a quick pace that still feels natural. If you are looking for a captivating fantasy read with mythology tied in, this should be the next book you pick up. It is possible you could read as a standalone, but to get the full experience and guarantee you won’t get lost in the details, it’s best to pick up the first in the series. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to see what the author has in store for us next!

I have read several books by this author as well as the previous books in this series, and they have kept me coming back for more every time! Although this is part of the Central Florida Stories series, it can absolutely be read as a standalone. I think once you read it you will be going back to pick up the previous books anyways because this author is amazing! The author has included some trigger warnings on their site which I appreciate and always recommend checking before diving in. The book starts off at a rather quick pace with a bit of sparks and then action, danger, and suspense following close behind. The chemistry between Marcus, Storm, and Barrington is addictive and jumps off the pages each time they’re together. I truly enjoyed getting to see them develop throughout the story with the intense emotions they experience and the variety of situations they get into. I definitely felt just about every emotion possible and may have shed a tear or two. The journey with these three is not for the faint of heart. You can feel that the boys will do anything to protect Storm. If you’re looking for a spicy read with more to the story than just steam, this should be your next book. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

I had previously read one other book by this author and enjoyed it so much that I grabbed this one up without a second thought. The cover is gorgeously intriguing which pulled me in even further. By the time I read the synopsis I was already making room for it on my shelf. The author did an astounding job of weaving the historical world perfectly with romantic fantasy, which I feel is an incredibly difficult task. I appreciate the fact that they included content warnings at the beginning so that no one is caught off guard. Something else that I absolutely love is that they included not only a glossary but a map to make it a little easier imagining the world as they wrote it. Even if you aren’t familiar with The Epic of Gilgamesh, this book will still blow you away. It starts off a little slow but definitely speeds up into more action and spice. I highly recommend picking up this first book The Legacy of Gilgamesh series because I have a feeling the second book is going to be a knockout!

This is absolutely a must read for current and future dog owners alike! We have enjoyed other books about Porter and Midge and this is no exception. Both of my kiddos and I enjoyed this wonderful book about the importance of training and socializing puppies. It is especially helpful for my youngest who has a harder time understanding animal needs, and I feel like it assisted him in seeing the bigger picture. The illustrations are not only gorgeous and incredibly detailed, but they do add so much more to the story for readers both young and old. I feel like this would be a marvelous addition to a library, your home, and adoption shelters!

Salt Love: A Summer Romantic Comedy by Marika Ray

I had only read one other book by this author before, but I enjoyed it so much that I had to pick this on up as well. I’m so glad I did because it was the refreshing romantic comedy that I needed! I found myself laughing out loud at a few moments in the book while others tugged at my heart. It took me a little bit to find my reading rhythm, but once I did there was no putting it down. The characters are well thought out and developed. Kenna and Dec will have you rooting for them the whole time as you keep turning pages to find out what happens. If you are looking for a wonderfully fun summer read that has great banter and emotions, please pick this up and get lost for the afternoon! I am looking forward to seeing more work by this author in the near future.

This is the third book in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Stories series, and it’s my favorite so far! I highly recommend reading the first two books in this series because the storyline continues with each installment. It was a rather quick rollercoaster of a read and found myself wanting more as soon as it ended. I admire Elinor so much with her wittiness and determination having a strong presence in this book more so than the others. If you are new to the Gaslamp fantasy genre, this is definitely the best to start with. The detective feel throughout the story definitely has a Sherlock vibe, and I love it. I cannot wait to dive into the next book series!

This is one of my absolute favorite authors and have read countless books by them. Somehow they knock each and every one out of the park, and this is no exception. There is a magnificent blend of paranormal happenings, wonderful humor, and romance throughout. I definitely laughed loud enough to startle my family multiple times. You will be gripped from the very first chapter because we have to know about the gumball! I’ll never understand how the author writes such short stories without sacrificing quality every time, but you won’t hear me complaining. If you’re looking for a quick and unique read that will make you laugh and feel for each character while getting lost in a vivid world, pick this book up right now! I cannot wait to grab another book by this author because I can’t get enough.

This is the second book in The House on the Hill series, and it was absolutely incredible! I love thrillers and being kept on the edge of my seat, so this seemed right up my alley. I fell into my reading groove fairly quickly with the flow of the story feeling natural. It was impossible to put down once I dove in because the suspense was killing me. I had to know what was going to happen! Kaia is an amazing character that is strong and relatable. I highly recommend picking up the first book in the series before jumping into this one as you may end up a little confused without it. I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!

This is one book in the Marine Life Counting Collection, and it’s tied for our favorite! To be fair, they’re all three tied because they are all absolutely wonderful. The illustrations throughout this series are some of my favorites in any children’s book I have read. We look forward to all of the fun facts at the end because it turns out that no one in the family knows them. My youngest likes to share these facts with random passersby, so he’s spreading the word! The rhyming always has us bopping along and the QR code for the song at the end was an awesome bonus! I highly recommend adding this to your classroom or home collection for the little ones in your life.

My kiddos and I have read a few books by this lovely author before and picked this one up as we love anything involving the beach! The illustrations in this story are absolutely beautiful and brought a smile to our faces as well. There are some fun facts towards the end that none of us knew! It was so cool to learn those together. The rhythmic rhyming had all of us bopping along as we read it out and made it sound like a song. This would be a great addition to any classroom, library, or home collection for young ones!

My entire household loves the Oscar and Emmy series, so of course we picked this one up as soon as we saw it. We don’t live in an area that experiences hurricanes which made it a good learning lesson for both of my kids. The author has such a magnificent way of informing kids at an appropriate age level without scaring them or diminishing the experience. Oscar and Emmy aren’t sure what to make of all the movements throughout the story, but they go along with their family. The illustrations help with connecting younger kids to the story as well. I believe this is an excellent book to read as a family or in a classroom!

Of course, our favorite parts always involve the lovely and mischievous kittens that are checking out all the fun Christmas decorations and gift wrapping. This book is such a cute one to share with the young ones in your life whether that’s at home or in the classroom!

This is one of the top reads of the year for me, without a doubt! This is the first book I have read by this author and since finishing it, I have picked up more of their work. The cover drew me in, and I didn’t even have to finish the synopsis before I picked it up. I dove straight into the book when I got home and was gripped from the first page of the prologue! Psychological thrillers are one of my favorite genres, so it’s a challenge to catch me off-guard. This story had so many twists and turns, dead ends, and mystery that I second guessed myself the entire way through. I love that this book is told from multiple points of view as we get to delve into the character’s brains and experience the story. What started as a morning plan to read a couple chapters ended up being an entire day spent absorbed into this romantic suspense! If you like thrillers with romance and spice all mixed in, please do yourself a favor and pick this book up. I cannot wait to start reading other stories by this author!

I hadn’t read anything by this author before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This is the first book in the Willowbrook Lake series, and it had me hooked from the very first chapter! It was quite emotional and had me tearing up a few times. If you’ve ever had your heart broken or experienced a devastating tragedy, this will probably tug at your heart as well. It’s a beautiful second chance romance that includes a grieving process. I always enjoy the dual points of view in books because it allows me to get a better understanding of each character. If you enjoy emotional contemporary romances, there’s a good chance you’ll find yourself lost in this book. I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

Wow! I have enjoyed the Evil Sushi series and was worried that the third installment would start to lose some of its uniqueness. I am happy to be wrong as this one may be my favorite! I highly recommend reading these books in order to gain the fullest experience. This author is always on my watch list because their writing style is unmatched in this genre! The series has been full of quirkiness, and this one was no exception. The story flows very well, allowing everything to unfold naturally. That being said, I never see what is coming next in this series! I love that I am constantly caught off guard with twists and turns throughout the entire book. I am eagerly awaiting to see what this author has in store for us next!

The first book in this series was quite enjoyable, so I was super excited to pick up the second installment! The style of writing is absolutely incredible and addicting. The author has fit so much suspense and detail in a shorter story without sacrificing the plot or characters. You may be able to read this as a standalone, but I highly recommend starting with the first book for the full experience and no confusion. I was astounded by the unpredictable twists and turns that left my mouth gaping in the middle of a waiting room! The characters are very well-developed and some of the most interesting people I’ve come across. If you enjoy unique thrillers, this is without a doubt your next series.

This was the first book I had read by this author, and I am completely blown away! I didn’t realize this was a series until I had already started reading it so I doubled down and finished it. I didn’t feel lost so it does well as a standalone, but the author does mention there are a few things that would be revealed in this book that may ruin the first 3 if you haven’t read them. I will totally be picking up the previous books now because I’m addicted! Lynn and Joey are freaking adorable and may just be my new favorite fiction friends. The witty banter alone is enough to keep me reading, but there is so much more! If you enjoy sports romance books with some funny moments thrown in and plenty of steam, look no further than this incredible story.

Another wonderful story by an incredible author! I make a point to seek out this author’s books because my kids love them so much. I may be (a little) older than the targeted audience, but I’m a child at heart, so I end up having a blast too. Soara loves to fly around high in the clouds and spend time with the butterflies. Can you get lost when you’re flying? Find out with Soara and her friends. We played an imaginative ‘what if’ game after reading this and explored our own flying world at home. We loved the illustrations as they really add more depth to the story and kept both of my kids’ attention. Share this fun adventure with the young ones in your life at home, at school, or at daycare!

My family loves it when I bring home books by this author! We always have such a fun time and great discussions. Opposite Day is exactly what it sounds like. The teacher wants everyone to try to do the opposite of what she says. But she doesn’t make it easy for them. This was a fun read that made both of my kiddos giggle as they acted everything out along with the story. It also prompted us to try and create our own Opposite game with more difficult instructions. Pick this up and share with the little ones in your life at home, at school, or at daycare.

I am a huge fan of anything that frightens me, so this was right up my alley. I hadn’t read anything by this author before but as soon as I saw this book, I knew I had to pick it up. I really appreciate that the author includes trigger warnings at the beginning to prepare you for what you will encounter. These stories were the perfect bite-sized length and somehow not sacrificing the quality of them. I was absolutely hooked on each and every story! I couldn’t put this down because there are no slow moments whatsoever. Each phobia that is explored is chilling and had me questioning if I have more phobias than I realized! If you enjoy horror and suspenseful short stories, do yourself a favor and pick this up. You won’t regret it!

This was such an amazing book relating to The Serrulata Saga! I have enjoyed this series very much and love that it gets even better as it progresses. I was pulled in by the cover and once I saw the dedication page, it gripped my heart and never let go. I dove right in and lost myself in this amazing romantic sci-fi world. This author has a unique way of crafting a story that is subtle at first, making you believe you can read a few pages really quickly. Hours later, I realized that what was meant to be a few minutes of reading turned into devouring the entire book. Patrick is relatable to me as I have a chronic illness with ‘bad days’ so I immediately bonded with him. The chemistry between him and Iseul is delightfully steamy and very well written. If you enjoy MM historical romance with spicy scenes and amazing characters, please give this book a chance! You can definitely read this as a standalone as well.

What an amazingly double steamy read! I had read one series by this author before, and it absolutely left me wanting more. I can’t pick a favorite out of the two books included in this collection because I loved them both. The chemistry in both of these books is astounding! It pops off the pages even though the basis of the stories is quite different. I could tell that the characters in each book were developed very intentionally as nothing was missing. I never felt like I was jolted out of the story from odd sentences or a weird scene jump. The author pulls you into their world and doesn’t let go! If you are looking for a spicy double feature, pick this one up right now!

This is the second book in the Match Made in Montana series, and it was wonderful! This can be read as a standalone and not be lost whatsoever, but you’ll want to pick up the rest of the series anyways because the author has an amazing writing style. I found that this slow burn really tugged at my heart and found the characters relatable. Ted is a gentlemanly cowboy working at the Kincaid Ranch, but he’s also a bit of a grump. Stephanie seems like a bit of a workaholic, but she just likes to be busy. She’s a take charge person who says what’s on her mind…unless she’s around Ted. She’s got a crush on him and loses all words when he’s around. I loved the two of them together with their chemistry as well as getting to know them independently. Even though this is an age gap, I feel like the author didn’t solely focus on the numbers which helped build the story more for me. I cannot wait to continue this series!

I have been eagerly awaiting this book as I loved the first in the series! I was so excited to pick it up and dive right in as soon as I got home. In this one, we get to learn about Sylvan and TB. It turns out that they are my new favorite people! I still love the entire Deadman’s Tribe team and their witty banter, but the protectiveness that TB shows for Sylvan is lovely and refreshing. Both of their pasts are heartbreaking and may be what keeps them apart…but what if it brings them together? I will reveal zero spoilers in this review because this was an absolutely phenomenal read! As always, mind the trigger warnings to inform yourself. I appreciate the author’s thoughtfulness to include that. I also loved that this book was slightly longer side as I couldn’t get enough! I highly recommend giving this book a read if you enjoy a good romantic suspense book with some wonderful spicy scenes. I bet you’ll find yourself lost in their world almost as quickly as I was! Bring on the next book!

Vague Directions: Into the Woods by Debra Parmley

I have read several books by this author, and each one has been quite enjoyable in its own way. This story was a little different than previous ones, but it is actually one of my favorites now! It’s a pretty quick read to finish in your afternoon as well. I would love to see more like this from this author, perhaps even turning this into a series! From the very beginning, the characters were easily relatable and their relationships enjoyably quirky. I did feel that sometimes Heather unnecessarily disregarded her personal safety. But that does add to the suspense and mysterious circumstances. The paranormal fantasy theme woven through the book was incredible, and I loved the owl as they’re one of my absolute favorite animals. I am excited to pick up more by this author and hope to see more related to this book in the future!

Murder a la Christie by Marilyn Levinson

I had only read one previous book by this author and enjoyed it, so I was happy to pick up another. I absolutely love the way the author writes as it captures attention immediately and holds on throughout the entire book. There were also multiple twists and turns that kept me on my toes! I wasn’t a big fan of the main character which made it a little hard to relate and feel the story deeply, but that is literally the only thing I didn’t love about this book. Overall, it was an incredible cozy mystery! If you enjoy Agatha Christie then you will likely find yourself appreciating this story as well. This would be a wonderful book to read in your spare time as it’s easy to delve back into after putting it down.
