The Lycan/Vampire vs Hellspawn War wages on. Tasha and Levi are still battling the Master Hellspawn and his minions, whom are ever adapting. Tash and Levi are also evolving during this war. This installment of The Shadow Chronicles was even more action packed and intriguing that Book 1 (Forbidden Wolf). There is a lot of action as there is a major war going on outside the base and inside the base (with Castus). The plot is well-written and does a thorough job with explaining the science they are studying to understand the Lycan/Vampire genetics. The characters are well-thought out and put together. My personal favorite, after Tasha and Levi, of course, are Tasha’s parents. Her mom has no problem putting her father in his place. The female characters are strong and confident in this book. They will go into battle without a second thought. I did not see that ending come. I’m kind of hoping a further book in the future about them? Hint, hint! Great series. Recommend this!

Absolutely fantastic book! This is a new author to me and I am thrilled to see another Colorado coy mystery author. I love when I can read a book and see little tidbits of Colorado that I know. This is right up there as a favorite. Every time I thought I figured out who did it, she threw a twist. I loved not knowing who did it until the end. This is one busy body town and its full of twists and gossips and busybodies. A fun and clean read. Quick and easy. Loved it. Highly recommend.

Action packed and intrigue that draws you in from page 1. Alex is a kick-ass teen who learns that she and her sister, Zoey, have some new powers that help with beating nightmares. Their mom has died and they move in with their grandmother. She is their father’s mother. He disappeared when they were young so they learn so many secrets and what happened. The plot just keeps you involved. You can’t put the book down because you just might miss something. Definitely a great book for the YA paranormal/fantasy fans. (Adults will like it too). Highly recommend.

Losing someone you love can cause spirit-crushing grief such as Charlotte, the main character, feels. She lost her fiancé, Jason, ten years ago to a car accident. She is still experiencing such depression and grief from this that she is finding it hard to move on. Dire’s Club is an organization that gives terminal patients their chance to get their last wish done. Charlotte decides she is going to join this group and in the process she meets some extraordinary people that make such impressions on her that her life is forever changed: Lourdes, Levi, Dylan, Celeste, Jimmy and Darla. What an AMAZING book! All the feelings can be felt in this book. You will go on many adventures with the Dire’s Club and feel their emotions as they all deal with their feelings over dying and read what happens when some lies and fraud are exposed. Probably the BEST book of 2021 that I have read so far. It’s like explaining the grief cycle in an easier way. I definitely recommend this one.

Isra gets involved in the love triangle with her, Everilda and Jonathan. Just like most true love, it hurts when there’s a betrayal. In this case, it brings on the dark magic. Isra flips out and decides to enter the dark magic. You are feeling Isra’s pain of her first love as she is experiencing it. That feeling of revenge you get when you want to hurt them back can be mighty strong, as it is for Isra. You can feel the tug of lightness try to pull her back but that dark just wins her. During this time, Samuel and his ravens, Astrid and James, are keeping an eye on her because of a prophecy. The plot is very good and easy to read. The characters are full of personality, each one full of personality that just fits like one big puzzle. The details are fantastic. I find myself picturing something along the lines of old English castles. Love this series. Highly Recommend.

This book was like a breath of fresh air when it comes to mysteries. Sarah Danger, a clairempath, works as a PI in-training for her friend’s, Jeff, agency. They take a case in Hawaii that involves a mystery virus that is spontaneously heating people up from the inside. They will be investigating what caused it; whether natural or supernatural. Once on the big island, Jeff has a minor heart attack which puts him on bed rest. This leaves Sarah to step up to lead investigator. She isn’t too sure but she does what needs to be done. With the help of the rest of the team, Sarah interviews the people involved and hikes the volcano park where the scene seemed to start. Needless to say, Volcano activity; Pele; cheating; revenge; and rituals are all part of the puzzle. A lot of puzzle solving with this one. Good book that leaves you thinking. Intriguing facts about Hawaii and Hilo. Highly recommend.

Book 1 – Betrayal At The Beach This book is quite entertaining. Sunshine is the YA librarian in the Bryce Beach library. She has been in charge of putting together the annual gala. The night of the gala, the charitable donations and the town’s founding fathers bible are stolen. Who did it? Camille, the Mayor’s wife, and her evil clique? Maybe a coworker? Or someone you never would have thought of. Sunshine’s boss wants her to be the point person because she was in charge of putting it together. That means working with the handsome Chief James who tells her to stick with librarianship. With the help of Molly and God, Sunshine sets out to find the culprit. They have no qualms about snooping, spying, stalking or tricking; whatever it takes within legal limits. I found myself laughing because this is clean, funny and entertaining. The characters are quirky and a little stereotypical. I like to hang around libraries so they fit into what I’ve experienced. The book references are hilarious. Her parents are a hoot. The town is perfect for this type of mystery. I could not help but picture a town like Mayberry with the odd characters, though with a modern feel. The mystery was smooth, yet, challenging. I did not see that ending coming. Every time I thought I solved it, the author threw a twist. Perfect. Highly recommend. Book 2 – Mystery At The Marina Dead fish, a shark, and a whale, Sunshine wants to know what’s going on with this. There’s no reason for this and to her, there seems to be a coverup. Too many secrets and not enough answers. Sunshine and Molly again hit the trail looking for answers. Nothing is ever as it seems. Drugs, high school acquaintances, secrets, and many more. Sunshine will dig to the core. Chief James reminding her along the way to stick to librarianship while loosening up a bit towards her. I would love to see these two date. Along with asking Jesus to take the wheel, Sunshine just knows how to make a mystery fun and still get into danger and somehow come out in one piece. All I can say is “by the grace of God.” Book 3 – Shooting On The Shore Mrs. Monroe is found dead on the beach. Having been the last one to talk to her, Sunshine is shocked to hear this news. The ladies at the library want her to figure out who the murderer is. They will do anything to help. Family secrets are due to come out when Sunshine learns there is Mrs. Monroe wrote a memoir. The Boxbury’s and the Monroes have a long twisted history and Sunshine, the library ladies and Chief James will again sift through the town adventures and memories to get to the bottom of things. Things between the Chief and Sunshine seem a lot more relaxed. She has another admirer letter, who could it be???? You just must read this series. Good, clean, entertaining fun with a wonderful mystery that will keep you on your toes. The author leaves you thinking you solved but, nope, plot twist. I am loving this series. This author is now on my favorite list. Great set. Highly recommend.
This series just keeps getting better. Lucy has her father, Jude, wanting to come in and meet her uncles. Marcus, her boyfriend, isn’t happy about that (oh yeah, he and Jude don’t like each other). Dylan, her friend and new demon (thanks to Jude), is suffering from new powers and has to do trainings along with Lucy. Oh yeah,[and nothing is ever as it seems. Marcus’s parents appear on the scene. There are also signs of a love triangle. This action-packed book has thrills, mystery, suspense, and drama for the YA (and even us oldies that love the genre). The characters are funny, full of anfst, charming and a little creepy. The humans have quirks and the paranormal have unique charm. They all mesh together to make a really powerful book that brings out that sometimes you have to compromise. And in the end, keep your enemies closer. Highly Recommend.

Dee is involved in a missing case that intertwines her current man, her past man and a cult leader who is a suspect. Toss in a partner that she doesn’t like and you have a book with some definite drama and a tough officer. Dee is just coming back after burying her father so the whole case of who killed the cult member opens her up for easy seduction. Jonathan, the cult leader, tries almost every way possible to seduce her into the cult by using her need for family that can love her. Thankfully, Dee realizes that she has people who do care for her that pull her out. Alas, this is book 1 so it will leave you hanging…. I’m going to be eagerly awaiting book 2 to find out what happens. Can Winston hang on to her? Or will Jonathan take her away. Highly recommend.

This book brings home cute and cozy with a dash of mystery. Most people love cats and the author brings it home with a Cat Cafe. Just like a Starbucks, you can go in and do what you need while you can pet and cuddle a cat; maybe even adopt one. This Cafe owner, Ellie, has a dash of trouble with hers. But along comes Simon, the dashing detective, that even picky Templeton adores. Through a series of misadventures that come about after a particularly nasty woman leaves her Cafe and dies behind it, Ellie comes to help find out who did it. Ellie and Templeton have a nose for clues. Templeton has a bit of a talent for disappearing himself. The book was quirky. The characters felt like small town personalities that had me chuckling as I read through. The humor is really a nice touch. I never saw the ending. That’s what makes a good mystery for me. Highly recommend.

Lies, deception, fraud, treachery…Oh, what a web has been created around two cases that Madeline and Mike are working. One lies around kidnapping and one lies around missing persons. The suspense is set up in such a way that it goes back and forth between cases: yet, intertwined so well that it just meshes like it’s a river. The white boards used to plot out cases. They end up working out cases but they also have law enforcement at their six. The characters are such that you just end up trying to figure out why they did what they did. All the characters end up just meshing together. Their personalities are like a piece of the puzzle and they each have a spot to fill. Running a catering company and a private investigation firm together seemed difficult but Madeline and Mike made it work with the help of Lauren and Samir. This was a fantastic mystery. Highly recommend.

This is one of the best crime books I’ve read this year. Action-packed and a definite page turner, Nick is one of my favorite characters because he is real and moody. He is deep and has a personality that just makes him feel real. The story feels like something that could have been taken from the headlines. I would have though Nick might have passed on this case because Angie killed herself, but he pushed through. Along with the stress of the case, he has his “girlfriend,” Laura, who is trying to get her psychopath twin sister out of her life. What a challenge Nick has to overcome, but he does. He keeps pursuing the case and looking for those clues. The plot and descriptions work with the story also. The story leaves you breathless at times. You might forget you are holding your breathe at times. You feel like you’re on a roller coaster. This is a must for lovers of crime stories. Highly recommend.

Oh my stars! I would give this book higher than 5 stars if I could. Erin and Ripper’s story just got me in the feels. They meet at the Free Clinic where she is a nurse. He has been stabbed in an altercation. He’s part of the Diamonds (a gang of older members). The chemistry is there from the start. Through a series of misadventures, a friendship/romance builds. Shock is there when they find that Erin’s stepfather is an important leader in the Diamonds but Erin stands up for herself. There is; some trouble brewing at the wharf which brings physical harm to all, including Erin. These two get through it all with courage, strength (even after important history is shared).I didn’t see that ending coming. The author did a tremendous job with this story. She also left it with a cliffhanger that will leave you eagerly awaiting book 2! The characters have flair and personality, Jay and Sebastian are like sassy hoodlums. Erin’s boss feels like any boss you may have had, stern and needs to chill. The neighborhood made think of the bays you see in the movies. Overall, a book you have to read if you like an action-packed romance.

She must deal with her feelings as they work on this project. She learns the real reason that he did what he did. She also has to deal with her son’s behavior and an ex-husband who is an overgrown child. Dahlia is a strong woman who has a stubborn streak a mile long. She puts up with a lot and she comes through many challenges with a lot of strength. Levi has always been in love with her so he’ll wait while she works things out. This book is fantastic. I love how the main character is a divorced single mom. It shows that she can find romance again but it also shows the struggles also. It also showed a little of the struggle kids of divorce go through. Supporting characters were great, even Tara with her whiny bratness, just blending into the background. The description sounds heavenly. That’s a resort I would love to visit. Highly recommend.

She is a gorgeous woman who has caught Theo’s attention. She is confident, beautiful and knows what she wants, but she also knows how the mafia life works. It’s clearly a case of “you can’t have your cake and eat it too.” These two think they can sneak around. Little do they know but Mafia Dad sees all and knows all. Dealing with local drug dealers, sister drama, rival mafia families, and matchmaking families can make a normal person crazy but Aria handles it all. She’s like a trooper totally putting herself at risk and Theo is behind thinking he is going to rescue her. Eventually, there is a drama that they will need help for. Will Aria be able to handle it? Will she crash emotionally? You are just going to have to pick up the book and check it out. This book brings all the feels and emotions. Characters are awesome. You’ll file like they are people you know. Highly recommend.

Six years later, they are thrown together again in Heron Harbor when her sister, Wren is getting married. Lark drives this old RV and lives the Boho lifestyle of an artist. Hunter is the Police Chief. I can just picture them when Lark’s RV breaks down on her way into town. Hunter, of course, is the one to stop and rescue her. From there, it’s a series of misadventures that seriously make you think the universe is saying no. But through a medical emergency, planning a wedding, learning about family deception and secrets, figuring out how they really feel about each other; Hunter and Lark are able to come back together and figure out there future. I found this book fun and entertaining. I could picture this over in a town in Maine. The description sounded like the perfect place. The characters were quite entertaining. I definitely recommend this one.

Elle has been running her mother’s bakery since she passed away. Zane moves in next door and starts making overtures to buy Elle’s. Oh my goodness, this means war. This story will tickle your funny bone while also having parts that will touch your heart. Joyce has been with Elle since she was a kid, working in the bakery. She has always been a Mother at heart. Elle must deal with Joyce’s dementia as well as mystery deliveries, Zane’s hijinks and wanting to date her. Connie, her BFF, tells her to just do what her heart tells her. Elle has to learn to not be such a control freak. That’s what makes the story so enjoyable to me. From one control freak to another, it’s always funny to watch them learn to grow. The story has humor, romance, friendship, business rivalries and nosy reporters, not to mention more to keep you enthralled. The author wrote fantastic characters. Zane is one of those guys that he takes the licking and still stays because he knows its not personal. He’s what we all want. Elle is totally someone we can empathies with. The reference to Jane Eyre certainly doesn’t hurt. Wonderful story. Highly recommend to all.

This is a power-packed book. Rebecca is a pistol. She starts with little confidence to slowly grow into a mature momma who can stand her ground. She is left behind when her husband returns to England for his sick father. Now this is in the early times, not common for that time. She stays to take care of her ill mom. The Latvian government lies to keep her prisoner and tells her husband she is dead. No communication reaches either. Eventually, she escapes with her house serf, her serf’s free brother, her son (yes, she was pregnant) and gets to England. She meets up with her husband and it’s not what she expected. So many changes and surprise, including the criminal Gorgi from Latvia following, and these two somehow will fight, challenge and overcome everything thrown at them. Sylvia Black has hit home with another winner. Master Tuscano will have you on the edge of your seat. It picks up where Master Descalia left off. Delilah is off trying to get revenge on her own and ends up in several pickles of her own. Christian has to come to her rescue. I caught myself gasping and just feeling all the emotions as I was reading their adventures. It’s got witches, vampires, fairies, etc. Who doesn’t love paranormal stories? You must pick up this book and read the adventures of Master Tuscano and Delilah. You won’t be disappointed.

After cheating relationships, failed attempts to see one another, fate brought them back together. Charlie has returned home to work at the local hospital. Tank has a chance for redemption. This book is fantastic. Charlie and Tank work through lies, challenges and health crisis. They even work through brothers that are best friends with Tank. The humor is blended in nicely. You’ll love to see how things turn out with Justin, Tank and Charlie. That had me falling off my chair laughing. The book is very entertaining with some romance, a a little steam and some drama. You might get a happy ending with a cliffhanger. This is book 1 of a series and I’m dying for Book 2 because I want to see what happens next.

Vanessa is back, along with Grey, Raef, Aroz and a colorful cast of characters. Vanessa gave her soul to Grey in order to save Piper from Cancer. Now Vanessa is causing a little change and problems in Elysium/the Underworld. Hazel Storm has done it again. She has continued again the wonderfully funny story that leaves you chuckling as you follow the misadventures of Vanessa trying to adjust to her new “life.” A little steamy romance thrown in is awesome too. The repartee among all the players just flows smooth. The POV chapters run like a river back and forth. I highly recommend this book.

They are dealing with the aftermath of the trial and other items. Hen is a couple of months of coming into his inheritance. He just wants to do what’s right. Ty just wants to feel normal. One night a fat punk comes in and attacks Marcella. The family is put into turmoil again dealing with this as the police are trying to investigate. The family, except Marcella, feels Ty did it. Marcella said it wasn’t him. Oh, you will feel as shocked as I did with that surprise. Again, the author fills the book with twists and turns that will make you feel like you are on a mountain road (but they all tie nicely together). She does a wonderful job again of relating facts of schizophrenia and the law and mental system. It truly is a great book. Wonderful characters and a really intense plot that keep you wanting to never put it down. I read it in a day because I couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend this book.

Oh my! This is one of the hottest vampire romances I’ve read this year. This author has just knocked overtaken the top spot on my favorites list for vampire romance. Well done on the characters. They are even written hot, steamy and with lots of personality. I love it when a book feels like I am making my own show up in my head. I can just picture all of this.. The action is constant. The drama is great. Location is perfect. Las Vegas is the perfect spot to have full of vampires. The plot is such that you just can’t set your Kindle down. I had to go back and forth between my phone and Kindle so that I could keep reading wherever I was. You just have to read this book. I can’t give enough praise to this. And, c’mon, if you like book boyfriends, Sylvia always gives good. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this read. It was quite humorous. Though the main characters are a necromancer and a reaper the author made this story quite humorous. The innuendo, the comfort food made by angels, just stuffing souls hither and there (into cats, wherever they might fit). Hey, who knew what might happen if a reaper took a vacation. I do think the story could have used more male narration. Hollie Jackson did a fine job narrating, I just felt the reaper needed a masculine voice. A perfect story set in New Orleans, home to ghosts, spirits and haunted everything. You really should read this story if you are looking for a fun cozy mystery. You’ll get a chuckle and a mystery to solve. I will be looking for more by the author to read.

This starts the drama that will leave you on the the edge of your seat. It’s that exciting and thrilling that you have to know what’s going on and what’s happening. Every character plays an important part in the story. There are twists and surprising turns. Loved every minute of it. Highly recommend this book.

I imagined this was going to be your classic girl meets boy, falls in love romance. It is kind, but it is sooo much more. This is more girl meets boy, drama and adventure ensue with them and friends, friendship and romance build, steam,… Such great characters and with wonderful values. Toss in a bit of steam for the hot romance readers and you have a FANTASTIC book. All sorts of plot twists and turns and adventures that you need to read. This story is calling out to you. I can’t wait to read book 2. Highly recommend you get out and read this one.

Such a deliciously exciting romance. Characters that have intense chemistry but also have secrets from their past that must be dealt with. Strong feminine characters make for great novels because she maintains that strength as she also shows some of her vulnerability. She has a strong supportive group of friends that are their for her that make sure to stay in contact. This was such a wonderful novel because it had such a realistic taste of relationships and we got to watch them build and grow. Highly recommend.

Wonderfully romantic and a definitely unpredictable read. Fast plot with lots of twists. Highly recommend.

The worst part is that her 3 year old daughter/pup is still lost out there. Max, a witch, can talk to the animals and helps her when she is found in the forest. Together, they are slowly building a relationship as they work to find her daughter and destroy Claudia’s old pack. With the help of Max’s friends, this goal can be accomplished. A definite page-turner, you will fall in love with the members of this family and root for Max and Claudia. What a great book! Highly recommend.

Serena and Ethan came together as teacher and student as part of a coven. The chemistry is there. They seemed to have met when Serena helped Ethan’s sister, whose talents as an oracle came into play. Ethan seems to have visions of Serena’s demise so they spend time trying to figure out who and why is trying to kill her. Serena is pretty independent. It is soo hard due to her history to ask for help and depend on others but she learns that it is okay to ask. Ethan and his family are there to help. The action in packed in and keeps you drawn just to figure out who the culprit is. Great job at keeping interest. Love it and highly recommend.
