My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Edge of the Storm picks up with Blackbird as she goes on her first mission with Halo in Rome. When Halo is taken, Blackbird has to put everything she has learned to save her partner. I am loving this series! The suspense, the action, the bada$$ women the story revolves around. The only thing I’d like to see is more action and a longer story!

I absolutely loved this story. Even though this is a short read it is full of action, twists, danger, steamy moments and more. Sloane finds herself in a bad situation when her husband turns into a rat and so she has to start a new life. She finds that she’s stronger than she thought and in her journey she finds out so much more about herself. I am very anxious to find out what happens next in her life/story. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I’m sure the next one will be just as awesome. This book definitely packs a punch and I highly recommend this story and I cannot wait to read the next one in this series.

The first of the Silent Secrets series is Blinded by Betrayal where the daughter of a mafia boss has her privileged life ripped away from her. Sloane’s husband, Jimmy, is picked up by the cops and immediately starts talking. I kind of get that line of thinking but if I were involved in any sort of criminal activity, I would never speak to the cops. Jimmy holds no real love for anyone but himself so he doesn’t care who his words put in jeopardy. Sloane’s father and everyone else now see both of them as traitors. She can take pretty good care of herself but with powerful people now after her, Sloane must turn to a childhood friend.
Spin Drift is a great sequel novella that left me with a few more questions than I had at the end of Blinded by Betrayal but it did get me more excited for the next book in the series.

My Rating: 3 of 5 stars

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift (Silent Secrets #1) Lisette Kristensen was a quick, okay read that kept me reading.

This short read was fast, steamy, actiony, and a little jumpy. The plot for me was a little hard to follow, as I found it didn’t match the synopsis. What I thought I was going to read about, didn’t happen. At first yes, it followed what I was expecting, then things are really smutty, sexy, and I don’t really know why. What I really want to know is what happen with what I thought was the male MC, he just, vanished, and I just, again don’t know. This wasn’t a bad read by all means, it was just for me, not coherent, or smooth. I don’t really know if I like the MC, there wasn’t enough character development, nor was there proper plot development.

Overall if you’re looking for something quick, with a mix of smut, action and espionage, then give this book a chance. As I said, though I felt disjointed with this book, I did like it, and I did have fun reading it. It’s well written, and the dark tone is consistent and hooking. So please take my recommendation and stamp of approval, that you will have fun reading this mixed read.

Happy Reading

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift by Lisette Kristensen is the first book in the Silent Secrets series. This is a fast paced book that will keep you utterly fixated right to the last page.
As a new author to me I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this book. And o have to be honest, I wasn’t particularly drawn in by the cover or the description. However I decided to give it a go anyway – they do say never judge a book by its cover and this is the perfect example of why.
From page one I was hooked. This was fast paced and intense all the way through. I loved the characters. They were so well done. The author created them to compliment the story perfectly.
This was a thrilling adventure and one I would highly recommend.

There is great potential in this story. The characters are recognizable but yet they stand out with just the right amount of a twist to make them different from what you may have read before. The plot is great, even if it gets a little crazy for a while. I think that it would be an amazing story if it was just simpler. This book definitely helped me escape my own reality for a little while and I really enjoyed it. I would recommend reading this book without forming any preconceived notions based on your reading history so that you can enjoy this one of a kind thrill ride.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen is a well written thriller that I worried I wouldn’t be able to get into, but let me tell you I COULD NOT put it down. There was never a dull moment in this book and storyline and well written characters are what held me to the very end.
Sloane, mafia princess, has her life turned upside down when her husband is caught by cops and starts talking. Him doing this also now has not just put a target on her father’s back but hers as well. She reached out to her friend from her school days but so unsure she can even trust him. Sloane’s journey makes her open her eyes to a new journey to self-discovery.
Bravo to this author and writing an amazing book and I cannot wait to read more in this series. I give this book four stars!!!

Blinded by Betrayal follows what happens to Sloane after her husband rolls over on her mafia family. In the mafia, spouses are responsible for each other’s actions. When rolls over they both must die. With a contract on her head, Sloane has to think fast and act faster. Running to an old friend of hers for help, leads Sloane to a life she could never have imagined. I love a good mafia book and I love a strong female lead even more, so this book was right up my alley. I really enjoyed this book. I would have liked to have read more on Sloane’s training and I could have done without the introduction to the Chateau. I ended up skipping through most of that. It just didn’t go with the story to me once I finished the book. BUT, I still loved the story and I can’t wait to read the next one!!

I give Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen, 4 stars.

Sloane is in a spot. Her husband turned rat on her and her family. Now that same family will want her dead. She knows the rules, but she didn’t cause this. Now she has to run for her life. On the way, she runs into an old friend who promises to help. He shows her a world she never dreamed of belonging to. But part of her knows that this is for her. Can she make it in the world of espionage?

This book is actually two stories in one, the second, being a short story. This book is incredible to me in that it takes steamy, erotic romance and mixes it with the suspense/spy world. It works so well too. The characters are interesting and believable. I really like Sloane and hope to read more about her. The story is quite interesting too. What do you do when you don’t really have a choice? Sloane is put in difficult situations, but she is a survivor. This crazy, unreal world is not something she envisioned to be her life, but she thrives just the same.

If you like stories with strong female characters and suspense which hot and steamy romance thrown in, this book is for you.

I enjoyed this story. I was a bit unsure when the story went from the daughter of a mob boss on the run to her being trained for something. I didnt see that twist coming and i loved it.

Sloane is the daughter of a mob boss who orders a hit on her after her husband told the police all about the familys dealings.
Looking for a way out she meets an old friend who takes her to a place where she starts training to become something and someone else.

There is loads of adventure and lots of twists and turns which make it a enjoyable and entertaining read

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift is the first book that I have read by this author and I am pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this book. It is a Mafia type book and that alone had me intrigued.
The main character is named Sloane and she just so happens to be the daughter of a Mafia Boss. She has lived a life of privilege but soon learns that life can change in the blink of an eye and she will have difficult times ahead of her.
I enjoyed this book and I liked that I was pulled in from the very first page. I am looking forward to reading more by this author and I would recommend this to a friend!

WOW!! I’m in a bit of shock at how much I enjoyed this book. It was an edge of your seat fast moving, easy to follow story that started out with life in a mafia family to being trained as a deadly spy with a bit of erotic thrown in the mix.

I don’t normally read this type of genre mainly because I just have trouble keeping up with more complicated issues like terrorism and spies, but this one was so easy to understand and follow that I could definitely see reading the rest of this series, as a matter of fact I sincerely must read the rest of this series, I have read other stories by this author and also enjoyed those, so it’s safe to say that I will be looking into not only the rest of this series but other books by this author.

Many thanks to this author for opening up the door for a new genre for me to enjoy!

Loved it!!

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift is the opening to Lisette Kristensen’s Silent Secrets series and what an opening it was! Spin Drift is actually ‘a bridge’, connecting the first book with the second one and if that is what we have to expect, there will not be a dull moment!
We have Sloane Romano, a mafia princess, the daughter of the Boss, her husband is picked up by the authorities and because he starts singing like a canary, he signs his own and Sloane’s death warrant! Sloane, who has been living a privileged life has to decide who she can trust with her life … she leaves behind her life as a dutiful daughter and a wife, her mantra will become “you need to destroy the you everyone wanted you to be, to be the real you.”
Blinded by Betrayal is Sloane’s journey to discovering who the real Sloane is and once you join her on that journey, you will want to stick as close for as long as you can! (and picturing Ziva David while reading her story!)

This is a very quick read that features a prequel (part one) and the main story. At the beginning of the story, the author explains why it is written this way.

Both parts are very different from each other. Part One is full of open door sex scenes and Part Two is more of an action adventure.

The female protagonist is strong and determined and it was interesting to understand her methodology. In addition to the sexual/action adventure story lines, there is subtle humor.

This was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it to readers who are cool being a “bit” voyueristic.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen is a brilliant and fast paced shot story. But don’t let that the story is short fool you, there is so much going on and is action packed. It’s like that saying, don’t judge a book by it’s cover, because this is quite an explosive read that definitely packs a punch.

Sloane, the daughter of the Mafia Boss, has just been handed her death sentence by her husband by the very family she loves. On the run to and old friend for help she is thrown into a life that she never in a million years could have imagined. One of sexual discovery, secret government agencies and assassins.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen was a good 4 star read.

I was pulled in right from the beginning, Sloane’s husband has turned on the family which means they must die. Sloane had no idea her husband was going to do what he did and she refused to go into protective custody, so she runs. She ends up going to an old friend for help, who sends her to a very unexpected place. I definitely did not see this piece coming and I’m still not sure where some of it connects, but I will say there were some mighty steamy scenes.

Never attract attention to yourself. Never give them anything to remember you by.

As we move more into the story, Sloane learns exactly what is expected of her and becomes one heck of a tough girl. This is a short read that includes two of the books from the series. There were several great characters. The story did seem to move really fast at times and I would have liked to have seen a little more of the Chateau Imperium and Bettino, overall I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more from this author and series.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift by Lisette Kristensen is a great thriller. Lisette Kristensen grabbed me from the first page until the last word. The description of the characters and scenery makes everything realistic. I could see myself in these stories as well. I would not like to be in the situation they are in but I could be the character in the background that people could depend on. Sloane is a strong character with a good head on her shoulders. That in itself makes me what to read the story, but the page turning action was the other reason. When Betrayal enters the picture what will happen to Sloane? Can there be a recovery after emotions fly around?

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift: Book One (Silent Secrets) by Lisette Kristensen is what I believe a brilliant start to a new series. What I liked about book one is that its two stories in one with Spin Drift taking us into book two, we don’t always see this tie in I found it a great way to end book one. We get introduced to Sloane who is the main character in both books and she’s no weak lady. I found her character to have strength and its good to read a book with a strong female character. The storyline is so easy to follow which makes it even more enjoyable and it will capture your interest from the start as it did with me. The book is an action-packed romance book.

Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift is actually two different stories. Spin Drift is a short story featured at the end of the first book to tie the storyline into the second book. Sloane is the main character of both and it follows her life after her world is turned upside down. The easy to read storyline quickly captured my interest and I could not put it down. The steamy romance and action helped to keep it entertaining. I also loved the setting and the inclusion of family honor in this book. It was an interesting view into a mafia world. Blinded by Betrayal with Spin Drift is a combination of two stories and the first book in the Silent Secrets series and were both really good reads! This might have been a short read but it certainly packed a punch! It was definitely a page turner which was exciting, thrilling and had amazing characters! I loved that I was constantly guessing what would happen with the next turn of the page. There is one thing I can definitely say about this book, apart from how great it was, was that the author absolutely brought the title into the story, I really and truly felt the betrayal in the storyline! My attention was kept from beginning to end and I was really hooked into the storyline!

Blinded by Betrayal was full of action and emotion. Every encounter with a character brought you something filled with either fear or excitement. I really liked the main character Sloane. She is one bad mamajamma. She didn’t play any games. When things started off bad I didn’t know what she would do. But what she did do surprised me. She took off and made something amazing for herself. I really liked the direction the story went. She did this on her own without a Male lead. The author really made you felt the betrayal in this story. It comes out of nowhere and your left feeling uncertain. Like what just happened. I like this author. I’m use to more laid back books but this one had me on edge.

While it is a story that is a bit shorter than some, the powerful impact of the characters and the storyline makes it a page turner. I was always wondering what was going to happen next.
