Finding the End Zone (Game Time Series) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Shelly Kittell

Oh, how I loved this story. Callahan and Jamaica have the chemistry. He knows it. She knows it but doesn’t want to acknowledge that he’s her type. That irritating twit, Torey and the Jersey Chasers just keep getting the way along with Callahan’s teammates. I loved watching this relationship develop. The little blurb of hearing Balefire’s music didn’t go unnoticed. Nice mention there. This was a nice, fun and entertaining college romp that stomped prejudices. Jamaica found out that Callahan had brains. The story is a fantastic read. I didn’t want to put it down. I kept waiting for Jamaica to stab Torey with a pen from her hair. Like Callahan, I wanted to know how many writing utensils were hidden in her hair. The characters were quirky, unique and sometimes just plain dorks. This is a fun romp with a little steam. The library steam had my glasses fogging. Well done!

4.5 stars
Finding the End Zone is the first book steamy in the Game Time series. It is a new adult sports romance tale. I have enjoyed every book I have read by Tam and this one is no different.
It is written in multiple POV which makes the story that much more interesting because you get to see inside the characters which makes the story fuller. It’s easy to fall for the characters and enjoy their journey.
It is a contemporary romance, with love, drama, humour, emotion and angst.
Sparks fly in this sexy, hot, seductive, passionate and intense tale.
Callahan is a star player both on and off the field but when she walks into his life, she is all he sees.
Sassy and independent Jamaica has one thing on her mind and that is her education. When she finds herself with the star football player for a project, she doesn’t have time for his antics. But those sexy eyes can’t be ignored.
To find out what happens you will need to read it for yourself. Happy reading! You won’t be disappointed.

Never date a player.

Football god Callahan O’Reilly can keep his blazing blue eyes to himself. I have a scholarship to maintain, and I do not have time to babysit a jock through a make-or-break class project. Even if one smoldering glance from him sets my panties on fire.

Time to change her mind.

Jamaica Winslow opens her mouth and spews sass like a volcano. One look at her uptight package and I want to coax the genie from the bottle, unleash all the passion she hides beneath a mop of unruly curls and a smart-ass attitude. She’s not my type, she doesn’t know one damn thing about the game that rules my life, and I can’t stop thinking about her.

Who said anything about love?

Jamaica does her best to keep me at arm’s length, but I’m not a pro prospect because I let the plays come to me. With the game on the line, I always want the ball. When an alum with deep pockets and delusions of grandeur makes demands that threaten my NFL chances and Jamaica’s scholarship, I have no choice but to man up and do the right thing no matter the cost.

It started as fun and games. Now I’m playing for her heart—and my own.

Game Time.

The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga by Rowan Rossler – Reviewed by: Vanessa Watts

The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 2)The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoy romance novels like the best of them, and add in a sexy sports athlete and you can feel temps rise. I did not immediately like Chavez. He is arrogant and very sure of himself in getting what he wants. It was hard to imagine the chemistry between Chavez and Flynn until the story delved deeper into their personal lives and you realize they both have monumental pasts that they are trying to escape or use to change their future.

Flynn is a successful author turned motivational guru. Past tennis star that due to unfortunate circumstances stopped playing the game and has never touched a racket since. Chavez is a talented tennis player that could never quite break the barrier into the world of the greats. So everyone is thrown for a loop when on his best season yet he leaves the game, turns out Chavez has some family issues to resolve. In a twist of fate, one in a million type things, they run into each other in their therapists office and sets something in motion that neither can explain. While Flynn isn’t looking to get anywhere near the world of tennis or that close to Chavez for obvious reasons, he convinces her to become his motivational guru/tennis coach. As sparks fly and past truths get revealed can they ever find what they are truly looking for? Can Chavez rise to the top of his game and earn the respect he so much desires? Can Flynn break out of her shell and her past and get back to the writing she loves or will she be stuck in someone else’s idea of success?

This book is not only filled with romance and action but the storyline itself flows like a beautiful tapestry as you maneuver your way through their trials and tribulations. We all have a past and sometimes the hardest thing is to get past it. Get past the hurt, anger, and every other emotion so it doesn’t weigh you down and make reaching your future aspirations so challenging. This was definitely a great read with a lot of introspective moments for me about moving past what is in the past, and outrunning the expectations of others.

The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga (The Hustlers Trilogy Book 2)The Challenger: A Sports Romance Saga by Rowan Rossler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This started out great! Pulled me in to the story and the characters. As the book went along I was struggling to stay involved and focused. It picks back up near the end and finishes strong. It is a reverse age gap(which is only about 8yrs) and its also touted as a interracial couple. It is but not really and honestly it is very subtle as I am more Interested in each character individually more than what race they are. More importantly this also is full of secrets, lies and sensual tension. I liked that the character is in a sport we do not read about much in romance novels.

The characters are well done. I felt the emotions along with each main personality. Chavez frustrated me at times but I think that is the emotions of a professional player always in the “on” position.

There is a lot I liked about this one. His family, his job, her job and their connection are all interesting to me. The suspense and drama are also good. I also had that Awww factor going a couple times. I just struggled but it could have been my life right now. I would read another story by this author as I feel they stray away from the normal and give something a little different.

Welcome to Sports Romance at its finest. This is book 2 but it can be read as a standalone. This is Chavez and Flynn’s story. Chavez is hot tempered and uncontrollable. His tennis skills could take him far. Flynn is a motivational speaker and coach. She is the exact opposite and seems to level Chavez out. When these two unlikely souls get together, there is as much action on the court as off the court. But both of them have their own secrets to get past. Will these two come together or will this pull them apart? This story took me by surprise. The author writes an amazing story leaving nothing out. The story is fast paced as well as well written. You can’t help falling in love with the characters. Even though it looks like they have nothing in common, they find out just where they lead each other. This turned out to be an exciting story to read. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This book was amazing!!! It has everything you could possibly want in a book and then some. It has an intriguing story line that will keep you guessing about what is going to happen, what happened to who, and the best question is can they save each other. The characters of this book have suffered throughout their life. Being a professional athlete has it tolls and other things that happen in life all compound into the very best story. The chemistry between the main characters is amazing and the banter that the author indulges the reader on is spot on. It felt as though I was there listening to these people in real life. I did cry while reading this book so please make sure you are prepared. This book was so well written that every emotion the characters felt, I felt. This is the second book in the series but you can read this book as a stand alone and be completely fine. However, if you are like me you are going to want to read the first book because of the way this book made you feel.

So when he leaves the tennis tour without explanation during the best year of his career, no one expects him to grind out a comeback on the second-tier Challenger circuit eight months later.

I’ve met my share of hot messes. Call it collateral damage of being Flynn Dryden—motivational guru to struggling millennials. But I have never met anyone like Chavez. Young and yummy with complications written all over him, he pushes all my right buttons. But when he asks me to join him on tour as his mental fitness coach, I say yes for all the wrong reasons.

Fighting Chance: A Steamy Sports Contemporary Billionaire Romance by Toni Denise

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Fighting Chance is a fantastic read. I loved every minute and really didn’t want it to end. This book is a steamy read and I like that.

Kendall is a sports journalist. She finds out that her dad is coaching. He should be retiring, not coaching, but she soon finds out what’s going on. She goes to a match to see what the fuss is all about. The quote I chose for Kendall is: “I have no idea. If I had a better story idea, I would have led with that. I’m screwed.”

Chad moved to town in order to be trained by Rich. He had to bug the old man, but finally got through to him. When Rich’s daughter shows up things go out the window. The quote I chose for Chad is: “Hold them like that. I assume you know how to throw a punch from your dad, but if you have to use it, this will stun him enough to get away. Keep me between you and them at all times. We’re going to move quick, but try to look casual. Got it?”

Highly recommended for Sports Romance lovers.

This was a great 5 star read. It was a quick read that pulled me right in.
Kendall is a reporter and when she gets an opportunity to do a different story she jumps on it. She ends up meeting Chad at an underground MMA event. Kendall wants to interview Chad but he refuses. You can definitely pick up on the sparks flying between them. Can Kendall convince him to help with her story? Will they get a HEA?

Overall I really enjoyed this couple. My emotions were all over the place. The author does a great job with her writing. If you’re looking for a good quick read, 1-click and get started today. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I love this story! I truly wanted to keep reading long after the book was over!
Kendall is a reporter and her whole career is going down the tubes. Her father offers her the opportunity of a different type of story than she is used to. This story is definitely going to have her stretch her reporting skills. Her father has a lead on an underground MMA ring that isn’t illegal but also isn’t well known. What Kendall finds there is a man that is going to challenge her beliefs. Chad can tell that the sparks are flying with Kendall but its going to take a lot of effort to convince her that they are both feeling things that are real and worth more than one night.
I truly feel that this is a great romance read. It was hard to put down and I definitely recommend it!

Wow I was completely captivated by this sports romance story. The characters were so likeable and I loved that even though there was uncertainty and secrets they weren’t anything to destroy the relationship. More like things and misunderstanding that were easy to work out. The connection and attraction between our couple was instant and amazing to see and feel.

Kendall is the sports reporter for a local newspaper. She doesn’t know how she got the job but she doesn’t want to lose it. When her job becomes at risk unless she finds a story her dad and ex boxer helps her out.
He introduces her to Chad the new local up and coming fighter. After seeing him in action she is impressed and can see his talent but there is more to him that meets the eye.

Chad is holding secrets which he doesn’t want revealed and so when he is approached by Kendall to do an interview he declines.
It’s then we start to really see the feelings and emotion between the pair and as the secrets unravel and misunderstandings are made can they keep going and give their relationship a fighting chance?

5 Stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love sports romance stories with a mix of MMA fighting….this was a great read. Totally enjoyable.

Kendall is trying to make it as a sports reporter…..but when all of her articles are leading up to a downward slope of possibly getting fired…Kendall needs a great story to keep her job. When a tip from Kendall’s father, Rich, about a MMA fighter that he is currently training and about local fighting, this may be the story that Kendall needs to keep her job.

Chad is all business like…..has a love and passion for MMA fighting but also keeps his personal life and his fighting life totally separate. What Chad does not anticipate is the spark he has for Kendall even though he is trying to push her away…he does not want anything to do with any “story line”.
Once Chad finally agrees upon his approval..sparks fly between him and Kendall…but then he pushes her away…

Will Kendall give Chad a fighting chance when it is needed…

This story flowed so easily and it was hard to put down. I love the connection between Kendall and Chad. Highly Recommended!

This is a good story and a quick read. It definitely draws the reader in and kept me turning pages. It is a slower burn between the two main personalities. While I liked that I was also over half before I realized there was mot even a kiss. There is a lit of info on Kendall and her thoughts and feelings. Not much on Chad. Really just vague info. I wish the author was a bit more expansive on his character and his secret. I never really got any specific info on who he really is, what he does that makes him so powerful or why he wants to fight. Opening that area up would make this a more rounded story and make me feel more complete when I was finished reading.

The struggle of finding or rebuilding oneself is never an easy one. When you find yourself having to live up to others’ expectations or get past their disappointment, it can be even more difficult. This is where Chad finds himself. Trying to live up to one view, live down another, while not really knowing who he is. As Chad struggles, he does something for himself, he starts MMA fighting.

Chad finds the boxing trainer he wants and convinces him to come out of retirement to train Chad. It just so happens that the trainer’s daughter, Kendall, is a sports reporter for the local paper. Upon meeting Kendall, Chad has a strong attraction that he doesn’t want to fight but knows he needs to because of who Kendall is.

The energy and chemistry between Chad and Kendall is felt through the pages. I don’t know if the author captured the boxing correctly, but she definitely nailed all the feels that go along with this one. Fantastic story.

This book is an excellent read. It was easy to get in and it was fun reading about a sport I don’t know much about. But who doesn’t love a muscular tatted man with a mysterious past?

This story follows Chance and Kendall. Chance is a tatted MMA fighter with a past you would never expect from a man that spends all day in the gym. Kendall is a journalist with a hard time finding the perfect story. What happens when she goes to an underground fight that Chance is headlining? What will happen when the one person who catches your attention is the one person you can’t have?

This is a great story about how someone’s past changes who they will grow up to be. Our pasts help define us but what about Chance’s past made me turn to MMA? This book to find out.

I love that she wrote it from both of the characters’ points of views. I hope she will write more because I want to read about the main character’s best friend and her romance.

Kendall loves her job as a reporter but her job is now in jeopardy. She has to get an amazing story like no other or she loses her job. Kendall’s father is a well known fighter and he is training a new guy. She watches Chad practice and she knows how to save her job. Kendall is going into the MMA world and Chad is her main scoop. She also is starting to feel something she never felt before. Kendall and Chad get to know each other better but her job calls for more. I loved Kendall’s Dad – he was a great character and I loved their close relationship. Kendall was certainly tenacious in her quest for the story to save her job and Chad wasn’t going to make it easy for her. I loved them both and was secretly rooting for them the whole way through!

This book is in the shorter side but definitely enjoyable nonetheless.

Kendall needs a story. While she isn’t fearless, she’ll do whatever it takes to get the story she needs. Then she meets Chad and everything she thought she knew is flipped upside down. Chad is the guy everyone wants. He is an MMA fighter so not only to all the women want him he’s the guy everyone wants to fight. Kendall isn’t the type of woman Chad usually deals with. He doesn’t know how to handle the fact that she doesn’t get all crazy over him like the others do. Chad isn’t your typical fighter and of course he keeps that close to the vest. Imagine how difficult it is agreeing to an interview when you know you are keeping secrets. These two have a lot of chemistry and once Chad gets Kendall to agree to a date, it should be smooth sailing. Will Kendall let down her guard enough to let Chad in or will their date be the start and end for them?

This isn’t your typical MMA story but I really liked that. The chemistry between Kendall and Chad was written very well. You could almost feel it jumping off the page. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be checking out more by this author.

This is not the first book I’ve read by this author. This book was way to fast paced for me. Not really sure how so much happened so quickly. Kendall is a reporter looking for her big break. She stumbles across Chad who is the newest thing in the Boxing circuit. Kendall gets an inside scoop

Because her dad is coaching Chad.
The chemistry between the two Chad and a Kendall is crazy but Chad gets very angry thinking about Kendall writing an article about him. He wants to remain a secret. He doesn’t want anyone to realize who he is. Super fast paced, felt like I missed something. Aside from that, I thought the book was good.

I’m not sure if it was just the app being weird, but when I was reading it on my phone it was in italics, but on my kindle it was regular formatting. However, if you’re debating on reading this book, don’t hesitate any longer! You won’t regret it!

Fighting Chance by Toni Denise – Review by Christie Mitchum

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fighting Chance by Toni Denise is a shorter novel but packs a punch, pardon the pun, but I can’t think of a more appropriate description!

Kendall is a reporter trying to make her mark, but all her stories are shot down by her boss, and now, she has to come up with a good one, or she is out on the street without a job. She gets an inside scoop on an underground but not illegal MMA fighting circuit from her father who is a trainer in a local gym. Little does she know how this story will impact both her personal and professional life.

Chad is the MMA fighter that Kendall’s dad is training. I have read my share of MMA books, but this one is a bit different, in a good way. There is a little bit of mystery that involves the true identity of Chad. He isn’t your typical fighter, and he didn’t become a fighter for the fame it can involve. As a matter of fact, he is trying to keep his true identity a secret. So, agreeing to an interview with Kendall won’t be easy for him. The two share some intense chemistry from their very first meeting, and it only becomes stronger as the story progresses.

As I indicated earlier in my review, the book is shorter than some. However, there is a lot of exciting stuff happening within the pages. It’s told from a dual POV, so readers get an insight into the thoughts and feelings of both characters which draws you more into their story. The book also touches on bullying, so you get a good romance along with something serious that affects society. It’s a solid read that doesn’t take very long at all to finish.

Fighting Chance by Toni Denise – Review by Carlie Del Gallo

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I could not put this book down! I am a sucker for a great sports romance novel and this one fit my liking to a tee! This story revolved around Kendall, who is a sports reporter on the verge of losing her job. She landed this job due to her father and his role in the sports community. Her father tells her to meet him one evening to come to an underground fight, where she meets Chad. He is just as stubborn as she is and when they meet the sparks fly. They encounter ups and downs through the story, and it is not like any other sports romance that I have read. I cannot wait to read more books by this amazingly talented author.
