Spring’s Showers (Romantically Seasonal Series) by C.A. King – Review by Donya Pedigo

Quote from the book
(“We’ve been here throughout time,” Nick answered. “We’ve done everything there is to do, even played games with mortal pawns, using them as we would chess pieces… or cards.”He held up his hand. “I’m not proud of it, but it was something that happened back in those days.)

The Gods have always interfered in the lives of mortals so it should come as no surprise when they make a bet that involves humans. Eros aka Cupid is tired of being low man on the totem pole, thought less of by the other Gods. Who are they to judge him and think his job, of helping everyone and everything find love is easy? True love is easy, that in itself is a joke, but let them just see how hard it is as they attempt to win the wager against him.

This is the first book in this series and I can’t wait to read more. As a lover of mythology I was intrigued by the dynamic of the Gods’ interactions and ways of thinking versus that of mere mortals, but at the core this is a sweet love story. This made such a fast, great read that I highly recommend this book and this author.

I’ve enjoyed a couple other books by this author and I was happy to see this first book in a new series. This book is fun to read and got me hooked right away. Sometimes we assume things aren’t very hard when they really are don’t we? Well, it sure seems like the gods and other immortals had it wrong when they made fun of Cupid’s job! The characters will help get you tuned into this book. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series as I’m sure you will smile like I did.

I enjoyed the premise of Cupid’s bet against fellow Gods that his job is in fact tougher than theirs. It was an easy read and I read it quickly. I thought the human characters were cute and spot on. I look forward to reading the other books in this series. Cupid is a lot different than I imagined him to be but it makes his character more interesting. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a lighthearted read.

Seasonal romance with a twist
What a delightfully fun read! A well written rom com with a dash of paranormal. I enjoyed the mix of gods, mythology, immortality and romance. Even though it was a short read it was well fleshed out and had me vested from start to finish. The world created by the author is wonderful and each of the characters well thought out. With lots of laugh out loud moments, I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

This was a quick, cute and jam packed read! For such a short novel it was very descriptive and immersive. I felt drawn into the story and with the characters from the beginning. While I enjoyed it I felt it was pretty predictable. And saying that, because I felt itbwas predictable, it was a fun time killing read. I did enjoy this book and I can’t wait to read more from the author in the future!

Have you ever thought your job is easier than mine? Well, your not the only one. In this story, a group of gods feel the same. In this case, they feel Cupid’s job is easier; so much so, they make a bet. Cupid on the other hand feels his arrows and love matching have been completely underappreciated. First up is Mother Nature. Making two people fall into true love is not as easy as she thinks. Will there be a true love match? Who will win?

This book was a great introduction to this new series by C.A. King. It was well written with a unique take. I loved most of the characters and can’t wait to see what comes next. I would recommend reading this book.

A romantic comedy that will draw you into its pages and make you laugh, gasp and feel everything your characters do. I enjoyed this story and really loved the characters. In my opinion stories are always better if you can bond with the characters. My only complaint (and the reason I gave it four stars) is that the story line was missing those little details that rounds out a really great story. I am hopeful the next in this series will be the perfect blend of storyline and lovable characters.

I’ve never read a book like this. It pits God against God or mythical creature, all to prove a point. This book shows the arrogant and dismissive nature of gods and how they run the world to entertain themselves and for their own pleasures. Can Cupid prove his job is too hard for Mother Nature? Or will he lose on his first chance to prove himself? Read this book if you enjoy fantasy and amusement.

Spring gets caught in the cross fire without even knowing it. I love Springs go with the flow personality and caring heart. I really like watching Mother Nature grow and discover that things aren’t always as they seem! I definitely can’t wait to read the others in this series!

Eros Cupid is the god in charge of love, he is one of many deities who live their everlasting lives and sometimes, that can mean boredom and resulting ramifications on humanity, but not everyone appreciates how difficult his job is, so when he goes to a club just for immortals, to play some cards, he finds that the others there cannot resist a good bet. The history of the outcomes of these bets isn’t always positive, they have led to wars, suffering and these tricks were all a matter of pride and achieving the gods place in the hierarchy.

As he plays his hands, the conversation turns to him and his lifestyle, as it usually does, however when his role is disparaged yet again, Cupid decides that he wants that to change and so he challenges the other gods and a wager is placed, four of the players decide that they will bet that they can do Cupid’s job with their eyes closed, so the bet is taken and each challenger is told that they have to unite a couple of mortals and see that at true love match is made.

As there are four challengers, it is decided that each will have a session within which they have to complete the challenge, so the seasons are dealt out and as Spring is the first season up, it is natural that Mother Nature takes it on. Will this challenge go for or against Cupid and will Mother Nature find love as easy to cultivate as plants? This is a paranormal romance where gods play and humans are the pieces, but with magic and feelings involved, this is one story which will plant roots and grow your enjoyment as the story progresses.

Out of all the gods, Cupid is the most ridiculed. The other gods believe he is the weakest amongst them and has the easiest job. Uniting two people in true love takes skill and Eros plans to prove it. Placing a bet with four gods, he challenges them to do his job in their respective seasons. The rules are simple: find two people, help them fall in love without using magic. Respect is at stake. If they are unable to accomplish the task, they must admit that Eros has the harder job and pay him the respect that he deserves.

In this book, Mother Nature is up first. Spring is her season and she’s sure she’s going to win. Finally settling on a town, she finds her target. She soon realizes that’s it not as easy as she thought. Love flows throughout the book and lessons are learned. This is a cute story and a good start to this series. Looking forward to see how the other gods will take on the challenge.

An enjoyable paranormal romantic comedy, which mixes gods, mythology, and romance, resulting in a quirky and engaging read. Cupid is fed up of the other gods thinking his ‘job’, of making couples fall in love, is easy. To stop being ridiculed and taken for granted he wants to prove to the others that helping people to fall in love is the hardest job. Cupid challenges them all to the bet of the century, “pitting deity against deity in a winner-take-all competition”. Each of the four challengers has to bring about the romance of Valentine’s Day, but in their designated seasons. Being spring, Mother Nature is first, believing that nurturing flowers and growing love is not that different. This is a fun, lighthearted romance with an intriguing storyline and fascinating characters, all of which made this a real page turner. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

I have read a few books from this author and she continues to blow my mind at how she writes. I have not read a good paranormal book in a long time so when I saw this book I had to read it. This is the first book to the romantically season series and it was a great start. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a little over a day to devour this magical story.

Eros is way down the pole when it comes to all the gods. He knows that he has the best powers making humans fall in love. Eros is told to make two strangers fall and love which he took the challenge. Will Eros succeed his mission or will he fail?

I loved this story. Eros, the Valentine’s Day God, has a bet with Mother Nature to prove that his job isn’t that easy. She soon finds that it isn’t. Spring is a nursery owner, Alex is her delivery guy. They have know each other since they were kids. They have yet to acknowledge the chemistry between them. She goes out with singer turned author Luke. Can we say disaster? Meddling Mom? I don’t I’ve laughed that hard in a while. You really should read this story. The story is entertaining and humorous. The characters are quirky, funny, and learn that life is too short to be serious. Have some fun. Mother Nature learns an important lesson. The tone is what makes the story. I was totally sucked in because Eros started with narrating the story and he sucks you right in. Highly recommend.

Spring’s Showers is the first book in the Romantically Seasonal series. Often accused by the other gods of having an easy job, Cupid has challenged four of them to successfully bring one couple together each. In this book, it’s Mother Nature’s turn to show just how simple matchmaking can be. Or, possibly, how difficult.
This is a fun romance with a gentle supernatural side. Mother Nature’s search for love takes her to a small, unassuming town where her green fingers land her a job at a horticultural nursery. There’s a fun cast of characters she meets along the way – I particularly like Phoebe, the young assistant at the nursery, and Alex’s dad with his novelty slippers.
This is a four-book series, and the rest of the series is out already so I’m looking forward to reading through them in the near future! It gets five stars from me. I would recommend it if you like stories with meddling gods and are in the mood for something light and entertaining.

Spring’s Showers: Romantically Seasonal: Spring by C.A. King

Another amazing read by the author. This is the first book in the Romantically Seasonal series. What can happen when Cupid gets against the other Gods?

Greta is Mother Nature and can make plants grow. When she plays poker with Gods and Cupid anything can happen. Now she’s got the task of finding a couple like Cupid does. Is it as easy as she thinks? The quote I chose for Greta is: “There are still a few good people in this world, aren’t there? Can’t a stranger help his fellow man out of the kindness of his heart anymore? Tsk. If it were Christmas time, no one would think twice about the matter. Why is December the only time humans can share goodwill? It makes no sense.”

Eros is Cupid and doesn’t get the credit he deserves. When he thinks about it he’s got the hardest job of them all. Now he’s going to bet them all that their jobs are easier. The quote I chose for Eros is: “I’ll guess I’ll see you when the time is right. Until then, I’m out. Greta, it’s been an adventure.”

Highly recommended for Paranormal Romantic Comedy lovers.

I have read quite a bit of this authors work and she never disappoints. The characters are always strong and independent and the plots are great… This is a paranormal romantic comedy with plenty of laughs and fireworks.
What happens when the Gods, Celestial being and mythological creatures come together Wars were fought, humans suffered, tricks were played and all in the name of competition; a way of determining a hierarchy amongst themselves.
Cupid has always been taken for granted and ridiculed. Enough was enough. It was time to climb the ladder. For once and for all, he is going to prove helping people fall in love was, is, and always will be, the hardest job.

How is Cupid going to prove he deserves respect among his peers? Can he win? What will happen if he loses?

Cupid’s job is harder than all his colleagues know. Mother Nature, Santa Claus, the Grim Reaper, Neptune, none of them understand the intricacies involved in pairing two people – the right two people, for true love. A wager is made and Mother Nature is first up to try to play matchmaker. How hard can it be anyway? Love is in the air in this romance-gone-awry. I enjoyed the bickering between the celestial beings and am looking forward to the rest of the series. It’s a fun, quick read!

This story delivers humor and romance in a way only the Mythological Gods can present it. This book was a lighthearted read that has a delightful cast and a feel good emotion all throughout the story. Cupid is seen in a different light as he makes sure the other Gods see his job is more than just shoot and aim to get people to fall in love. Watching the Gods attempt to be “Cupid” was comical and sweet. This author did a great job with this novella, and I will definitely read future stories from her.

As someone who has been reading a lot of books centering around mythology lately, this was the perfect book for me. I love the twist that the author has put on the more popular ‘fantasy’ figures in this book.

The first book in the series focuses on Mother Nature after she and other popular mythological figures make a bet that they could do Cupids job without issue. I loved watching Mother Nature impersonate a kind old lady just trying to start a new life, and it was hilarious watching her get used to living in the real world. By the end of the book, I was rooting for Mother Nature to be victorious in her quest, having fallen head over heels in love with her.

This is not my first book by the author and it certainly won’t be the last. I love her writing style, attention to detail, and the many characters she has written up. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

C. A. King delivers yet again! In this first book of the Romantically Seasonal series, King combines humor, mythology, magic, and romance to keep the reader entertained. Spring’s Showers focuses on the importance of choosing happiness over who, or what, can bring you the most comfortable lifestyle. The Gods think Cupid’s job as a matchmaker is too easy. Spring’s Showers is Mother Nature’s chance to prove that any of the Gods can produce a love match. But she soon learns that true love is harder to manufacture than she realizes. C. A.
