My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dr Stu Ledwith is back to tell the story of another soul he has encountered, only this time it is from a dream he had every night between the ages of ten and seventeen, it was a very vivid dream of a young soldier as he spent time with the woman he loves, that is until he is shot by another soldier and dies. He never thought much about this dream until recently because of the pandemic changing the life around him and allowing him the time for meditation and self-reflection. It has allowed him to focus on it and allow the soul of Mariekkela to approach him and tell her story.

The dream always followed the same path, he is a Finnish soldier fighting in the Finnish-Russian war and he is spending time with Mariekkela and some others in a sauna near a military checkpoint, then one day, the sauna is attacked by Russian soldiers when he is killed while trying to retrieve his rifle. This book tells of Mariekkela’s life after the attack and how she dealt with her fiance’s death, it is not a book for the faint of heart, however, reading the story puts life in perspective as you see the conditions of life at the time and time and how those around her rallied around and helped her is an emotional but rewarding read which will make enchant and engage you until the end.

This story was phenomenal. It was beautifully written, and I didn’t want to stop reading once I’d started! The characterization was so genuine and complex. I also truly adore strong female characters, so the fact that this story was chalk-full of them made me really happy. Watching the growth in the characters in the midst of all of the pain they go through was really inspiring. These are the people that I would want to have as real role models and people I could look up to, and adore the fact that they all influence each other positively on a regular basis. The relationships between the three girls especially is so special because having gone through a trauma together bonds people and that was an excellent illustration of that.

Mariekkela: From Finland, with Love by Stu Ledwith is another unique story. This emotionally beautiful tale is an historical look back in the time of war of a woman who lost her husband at the hands of the Russian Army. It tells us how she goes on to fight for her life and survive in trying times. Stu is good at giving his readers stories that are thought provoking and unique, interesting and entertaining but also a little different. There is also a wealth of history and Stu’s compassion for each and every story he tells shines through.

What an intriguing book. Mariekkela is a historical fiction story that will pull you in from page 1. Mariekkela was brutally attacked and left for dead when the Russians attacked her and her fiancé, along with 2 other couples in a barn sauna in Finland. With only a dog and old horse to keep her warm, she is found 3 days later and rescued by a surgeon. He takes her to the first country house he comes across and the lady of the house helps him bring Mariekkela back to health. Eventually, she remembers what happens. After learning about what happens and feeling that she just can’t live with the body she has, she gets one of the soldiers from her fiance’s unit to take her back to the barn where it all happened. There they are ambushed and she is killed, but not without getting off a few shots first. Mariekkella notes that she dead and visits everyone she left behind to let them know that they are okay and they will be okay. She meets Noah, her guide. She guides the healer from the hospital. She sees and talks to Kari. What gets interesting to me is that Kari comes back as Dr. Stu and remembers everything but Mariekkela comes back as Amelia and has body memories but no memories of her past life. Amelia feels a little weaker than Mariekella but has some strengths that Mariekella didn’t. The historical descriptions were very good. The hospital scenes felt like you were right there. You could feel how tired Dr. Aarne was. Dr. Aarne was my favorite character because he just kept going. He was strong and did show his weakness when needed (his wife’s death). The characters overall were realistic. A good book for historic fiction fans to devour.

Wow I’m not sure where to start with this book. Every book I have read by Stuart Ledwith has been an eye opening read. They allow us insight and access to people’s stories that we never would have been able to experience. This book is about a amazingly brave woman. Marieekela had so much pain and heartache in her life and the things she experienced is enough to make anyone want to just give up. Marirrkela slowly grew and recovered to become a strong woman, who found love from the people who helped her.
At the end of the day though her heartache of losing the love of her life to war sees her finding no escape from the pain except to be with him.

The beautiful thing about this story is that once she has passed you really feel all the love from the people around her. We learn that when we pass our souls carry on and the hopefulness I felt when she is reunite with her love is amazing. For me personally it is a story of heartache and pain but also of love and hope that in the future we will be reunited with our loved ones.

Mariekkela: From Finland With Love by Stu Ledwith is a well written and unique story. It is spiritual and emotional right from the word go and slowly draws the reader deeper into the story. The author did a great job of creating and imaginative and vivid story that really centres around the characters. I could almost feel everything they did and it made it even better to read.
This is an author I have only recently become familiar with and yet I like how each of his books are different. No story is the same and you never quite know what you are going to get from him. This is another great story and one I thoroughly enjoyed.

I was immediately drawn to this book as if it called my name. I experience vivid and very real dreams from time-to-time, so the simple involvement of dreaming grabbed me. The pull this book had on me did not stop once it was opened. The author writes with such an intimate style, I feel as though we were in the same room. Being interested in spirituality, dreams, and past lives, I simply devoured this book. Mariekkela: From Finland, with Love by Stuart Ledwith, PhD is an original, historical story that takes the reader back to 1939, in which Mariekkela’s Kari is killed by Russian soldiers. The book follows her life after the incident, and is a testament to undying, true love. The author also has a book titled The History of the Universe: As My Soul and I Remember, and I am definitely going to get my hands on that one to fall deeper into this author’s world and ideas. I appreciate a read that inspires me to consider new perspectives, or deepens and broadens an existing perspective, and if you have never read anything from this author before, this book is a five star choice.

“This is the exact spot where my Kari fell when he was shot. I knelt over his body… we were both naked. We had just been together in the sauna when we heard the Russians coming. He ran to get his rifle that was leaning on the wall by the door and stepped outside to shoot back at them and was hit in the head. He fell right here. I started screaming, sobbing. His friends came outside to fight and were killed too. Then I remember them pulling me off Kari and dragging me by the hair inside the door.”

Mariekkela: From Finland, With Love by Stuart Ledwith is an interesting historical chronicle story that tells the life of a woman named Mariekkela after her husband dies in the 1939 Winter War at the hands of the Russian army. It is a story of love, loss, remembering, strength, survival, drama, and history.
Again, this is an original story, told in Mr. Ledwith’s unique style that has an almost documentary feel to it. It is a thought-provoking read that had me thinking of what life must have been like back then. But also portrays the timeless power of love.

Thank you, Stuart Ledwith!

The History of the Universe: As My Soul and I Remember It by Stuart Ledwith was an interesting read, to say the least. This was not a typical book that I would read. I’m not much into reading religious books, but the synopsis of this book sounded really interesting, so I decided to give it a try. This was not a typical religious book, and while the author states that the events in this book happened, it read more as a fiction book to me than a nonfiction book. I was confused throughout, but that didn’t keep me from reading and finishing this novel. While it was well written, it also went away in some parts and I found it difficult to concentrate on. This was a very interesting read though, no doubt!

This book is not normally something I would pick up but I thought it sounded and looked interesting. This is a very unique and different book. I have read books by this author  before where he gets the  story of a few people from the past but this book is his personal story.

Its his story about how he connected with his soul. His soul has been reborn inside him and has shaped his life  everyday.

Its an amazing book to read and really takes you on the journey through the authors struggles to understand the way he is feeling and why. This story will make you question and think about everything from your views on love, religion and faith.
The main thing that I get from this story is a great sense of love. Treat everyone with love and respect that makes the world a better place.

The History of the Universe: As My Soul and I RememberThe History of the Universe: As My Soul and I Remember by Stuart Ledwith
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is about the creation of the universe, the development of the human race and it’s future. It is written from the point of view of the souls who created it by working through Stuart to bring this history and knowledge to the world. There is a lot of terminology throughout the book which was at times needed re-reading to fully grasp each concept, however, as the chapters went on, became more clear and easier to understand.

The book starts with Stuart’s journey to integrate with his soul Edouard, the methods he used, the questions he had, the answers he received and the souls he spoke to along the way. This detailed account also explains the past lifetimes Edouard experienced in a human body and what lessons he learned from each one to bring him to this point in his mission.

It then goes on to explain the creation of our universe and the process which the souls went through, the costs of this creation on them and how it has evolved over time to where it is now. This includes the formation and taming of the earth and its elements, the evolution of the beings on the planet throughout its various stages, how each of the stages was reached and also how the souls influenced these changes. It does this in the format of a diary of conversations, feelings and thought processes emerging from these discussions, quotes from other pieces written by others in the past and looking at the similarities and differences between them and what was said by the souls.

This book explains the overarching lesson of equality and unconditional love which the souls introduced within are attempting to teach the world, the ways in which it can be experienced and learnt, as well as what it should feel like when it is achieved. It was a very interesting book and although I did struggle with the content a little bit, it provoked a lot of thought and self reflection around the themes and ideas written throughout.

I was unsure what to expect when I picked up this book. Having read other works by this author I knew I would enjoy the crafted word but the subject was one I was approaching with hesitancy. Ledwith does an admirable job establishing the subject and context and doing so with respect to the topic that can be approached by individuals of most faiths. Studied and detailed, this story flowed well and was extremely well written. This is a book that to fully appreciate I will need to read more than once but it is one that is most certainly worthy of a read.

The History of the Universe: As His Soul Remembers by Stuart Ledwith is another instalment in the ‘As My Soul Remembers’ series. As with the other books of Mr. Ledwith’s that I have read, it is quite an original offering. This book takes us to the creation of the universe- spanning space and time- and introduces various concepts to do with religion, spirituality, faith, love, theology, philosophy, God, creation, the multi verse/multi-dimensionality, dogma, the search for meaning in life and the universe, and the search for understanding.
The story is a little confusing at times and definitely gets a little wordy in places. But I did appreciate the amount of blood, sweat, and soul that the author put into this book and his unique take on things.

Thank you, Stuart Ledwith!

The History of the Universe: As My Soul and I Remember by Stuart Ledwith is a truly intriguing read.
I quite often choose not to read books based on or around religion, I prefer my readings and learnings to come from the Bible. However, the description really drew my attention and I was not disappointed. Reading from another persons point of view really challenges you to see things differently and helps you to understand things from another person’s perspective.
The author’s writing style makes this book easy to read, yet full of thoughts and lessons that he has learned. If you enjoy reading books based around religion but quite often find them a challenge to read then I would encourage you to give this book a chance.
Whatever your beliefs this book will stay with you long after you have finished reading.

Its a very thought provoking read about the Universe and how we all came to be. In layman’s terms its a book on the history of the universe, about how we came to be as a people and our place in this universe. It also talks about our souls and God. The author believes he has a powerful soul named Edouard from the past and that is where a lot of this book comes from. This read is deep and very interesting but it is not one you can read lightly. I honestly am not sure how to review this book as it is so unique and ‘different’ that it really is not like anything I have read before. It is hard to explain to a potential reader what the book is actually about. I will say however, that I enjoyed the book and find the author, Stuart Ledwith‘s writing style easy to read and to follow even though the content is complicated at times. I also found it an interesting and intriguing book and it’s a very engaging and inspiring read. It’s a book that makes you think whilst your reading it and it also stays with you long after you have finished it. The book is in basic terms about, the history of the universe and the purpose of the book “is to inform and enlighten humans about their place in the universe, their souls and their God”.The book is written by Ledwith but with the help of “the dynamic and powerful soul, Edouard”. It is through Edouard “sharing of personal lessons, thoughts, triumphs and failures while engaged in this earthly manifestation” that Ledwith has written this book. As the author says, “This book began long ago, long before I knew I was going to write it. It began as this universe spewed forth from the immense black hole expelling it”. I do recommend this book but understand that it may not be to everyone’s taste but I would suggest picking it up, giving it a try and reading it with an open mind.

It may not be your typical read, but if you are after a change of pace, maybe a palate cleanser book, pick this up and expand your mind, its given me thought especially right now and that was something I was missing at the moment. The authors style is well put together and you can tell that they have checked the pace and flow of the story, there isn’t the issues I normally find with this type of story. Overall definitely one I will be recommending to many.
