Savage: An Ash Park Novel by Meghan O’Flynn
Five Stars

Savage is the tenth book in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. First, I want to say this is my favorite book of this series. Ms. O’Flynn can really weave a detailed, keep you on the edge of your seat psychological thriller. I think you need to read this series in order because there is a bunch of backstory that you pick up in the first nine books. But it is still a really good story if you just want to jump in, you just wont get all of the nuances that the author uses in her book. This book had me guessing until the end. Detective Petrosky is back and a killer is drawing him in. Will he be able to solve this case before he gets pulled into the rabbit hole? I highly recommend this book, series and author.

Evil Sushi is an amazing start of a new series by C.A. King. The imagination this author has makes her books such a pleasure to read. This book is hard to describe, but it is full of action, adventure, real life issues, horror, sci-fi and mysterious suspense. The author has done her job of making me think of issues brought up in the book, long after I finished reading it. One more thing, I’m so glad I don’t eat Sushi!

Four Stars

The Seal’s Temptation is the seventh book in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar. This is the first book I have read by this author, and I enjoyed this book, even though I wish I had read this series from book one. I will be going back to the beginning and probably re-read this book. I was sucked into this story from the very beginning. The twists and turns have my emotions scrambled. This book is full of action, adventure, action, and romance triangle. This book goes into details about PTSD. I think Ms. Biggar did a great job bring this issue and others to light. I would highly recommend this book, but you should try to read the first six books first.

Scorching Hot Mess is a rom com by Brooke May. This is not the first book I have read by Ms. May, but is my new favorite by her. This story sucked me right in and I couldn’t put it down until I finished. The characters are believable, the dialogue is witty, and the romance is scorching hot. After a drunken night out, Willow finds herself with four napkins with numbers on them and no other memories of the night. It is hilarious watching her try to figure it out. I truly enjoyed this book, and highly recommend it if rom com and romance are your thing.

Four Stars

Electric Temptation is the fifth book in The Protectors series by Toya Richardson. This is not my instant book by Ms. Richardson, but it is the first book in this series that I have read. I had no trouble following the story, however I’m going to read the rest of the books in this series. Ms. Richardson weaves a wonderful story full of action, adventure, witches, elemental powers and wraps it in a second chance romance. The world building is amazing. I found myself lost in this book and couldn’t put it down until the end. Delilah is one of my favorite characters is all of the books I have read this year. Delilah and Mason throw off some serious heat. If you love paranormal or even just romance, I highly recommend this book.

VENGEANCE (THE JOURNALS TRILOGY BOOK TWO) AUDIO BOOK by D.M. EARL – Review by Sunday Barnaby

Vengeance by D.M. Earl

Narrated by Nya Simpson

Five Stars

Vengeance is the second book in The Journals Trilogy by D.M. Earl. This series needs to be read/ listened to in order. You will be lost if you haven’t read/listened to  Anguish first.  It was a roller coaster of a ride from the very beginning and it never stopped. This book starts where the first book leaves off. Quinn is an amazingly strong woman who has been through unthinkable things. Stone and his crew have come to help settle the score. There are some explicit scenes in this book that could be triggers.  I listened to this book in one sitting because I just had to know how it ends. I’m now very intrigued to see what happens in book three. Can’t wait!!

This book was narrated by Nya Simpson, the same narrator as Anguish. Her voice was mellow and easy to listen to. She really brought the characters to life. I look forward to listening to many more books by her.

Five Stars

Twisted Throttle is the third book in the Santa’s Devils MC Second Generation series by Manda Mellett. Manda Mellett is one of my go to authors. I have read all of the Satan’s Devils books and this one by far is my favorite. This book can be read as a standalone, or you could just read the Second Generation seiries, but I recommend you read all of the Satan’s Devils books because it will be well worth your time if you are a fan of MC’s. I am not going to give away any of this story. You have read the blurb, if that did grasp your attention, I don’t know what will. This story was filled with action, adventure, mystery, suspense and romance. It kept me up all night and I just had to write this review at 4:30 am. I have a feeling that this book and Throttle and Gwen will be on my mind through the week. Definitely a five star for me!!!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Daisy’s Darkness by D.M. Earl
Four Stars

Daisy’s Darkness is the sixth book in the Wheels and Hogs series by D.M. Earl. This is the first book I have read in this series, so it can be read as a standalone, but I think I will go back and read the rest of this series. This book tackled some serious current issues going on today. I think the author did a really good job bringing bullying, eating disorders, mental and physical abuse, depression, cutting and suicide. It was a read that had me reaching for the tissue box from beginning to end. The emotional roller coaster was hard to handle, but the subjects need to be discussed out in the open to those who are lost in the darkness. I would definitely recommend this book, it brings today’s issues to light. It may help both those going through these issues, but it may also show those close to someone what to look for in the darkness.

Jordan’s Shadow is a psychologically dark romance by T.R. Cupak. This is my first read by this author. I look forward to reading more of her book. This book had my emotions rub raw and it left me with a book hangover. I just keep thinking about it, and that to me is the definition of a great book. Jordan is a very strong character who is also troubled by events that happen in her life. This book was well written and had me enthralled and wondering what was going to happen next. If you like dark romance with some twists, you should read this book.

The Tears of Boabdil is a psychological crime book by Neil McDonald. This is the first book I have read by this author. This book had me enthralled from the beginning. This book is complex, but you know that from the beginning when the MC, Vince lets you know that truth is how believable you make the lies. This is an undercover agent infiltrating a Jihadi Group, so his life depends on the story he weaves. This book is full of action, drama, intrigue with romance added in. A good vs. evil line with deep thought inducing content. This is not my normal genre, but I alway like to expand my reading choices. I would recommend this book especially if you like intriguing undercover/spy novels.
