First, We KillAll the Lawyers is the first book in The Donovan Trait series by Seelie Kay. This is a paranormal suspense, filled with action, adventure and romance. This is a different genre than I’m used to with Seelie, but I was amazingly greatful I pick it up and can’t wait for the next book in this series. This story had me hooked on the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until I read the last. Donovan Trait is a wonderful character. He is a charming, confident lawyer. Oh and did I mention he. Is a vampire. If you looking for a change of pace from all of the holiday books, I would definitely recommend this great read.

The Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink AUDIO TOUR – Review by Sunday Barnaby

The Sound of SilenceThe Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Sound of Silence by Dakota Willink
Five Stars

The Sound Of Silence is part of the Leave Me Breathless World by Dakota Willink. This is the first book I have read/listened to by this author, but definitely not the last. This book grabbed my attention from the very first page. I couldn’t stop listening. The issues of abuse were brought to the forefront and I believe that Ms. Willink did a great job bringing these issues to light. It is frightening to think how many people are affected by abuse.

Gianna is such a strong woman and was brave enough to escape the heartache that her marriage became. Derek is strong, stoic and patient. He also had the strength to give Gia the time and tools what she needed to protect herself. He is a really good man. And then we have Ethan, he is a psychopath who showed his true colors in the end. This is an intense book that has warnings for triggers, but my hope is that anyone who reads this book would get something out of it, be it courage to leave an abusive situation or compassion for those in that situation.

Sean Crisden, Sarah Puckett and Connor Crais did a wonderful job with the narration of this book. I have listened to books by Sarah in the past and she is always excellent. She brought Gia to life. This is my first listen of both Sean and Connor, but I will be looking out for them in future audiobooks. They have really nice and sexy voices.

This book has me sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen in the end. I really look forward to read more books by Dakota Willink. Brilliant is my best description of this story.

The Magic Of Christmas is the first holiday story I have read this year. Christi Barth did a great job getting me thinking about getting in the spirit of the season. Rowan West is a workaholic that puts her job first, before any kind of life. She is up for a big promotion and all she has to do is beat out her office rival. Jeremy Kincannon is trying to prove that he is not just riding on his stepfather’s coattails. When both find themselves in a Christmas themed lodge and amusement park, both trying to win the account, they find maybe they had the wrong opinion of each other. This is a fun story that had me hoping for a happy ending. The characters were relatable and the dialogue is witty. I truly enjoyed this holiday book.
