Nite Fire: Chain Reaction (Book 2) by C.L. Schneider – Review by Shelly Kittell

Chain Reaction (Nite Fire, Book 2)Chain Reaction by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dahlia Nite is one badass shifter. I love how she “lies” to her partner, Evans, to get out of him following her. She is supposed to protect humanity from the monsters but those lines are blurring. She wonders if its a virus or if somethings is triggering people. What makes this story work is the adventure. You don’t really get stories with dragon shifters. The action kept my interest all the way through. Well-written. The characters are totally relatable. I totally recommend this.

Chain Reaction is the second book of the Nite Fire series and it’s another great book full of adventure, fantasy and action and a little hint of romance too.
We learn more about Dahlia and get to see more of her kicking butt to protect those she cares for. I love how she never gives up no matter the challenge. I enjoyed watching the team work with Alex and Casey had me snickering with teasing comments. It’s a well written book and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. This series already has me hooked and I have already added it to my top favorite list!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Book one captivated me and this second book in the Nite Fire series did not disappoint! There was so much action and drama in this book, I couldn’t put it down. I love Dahlia Nite, she is the quintessential female hero who has her ups and downs and her love for the human race is shown in her reaction to them when things go wrong.

A new drug has shown up in Sentinel City and humans are turning up dead, in very strange ways. Dahlia is able to recognize her own transformations to her dragon form in these deaths. Dahlia and her crew must tamp down any panic in the city and figure out where the drugs are coming from before the city figures out that their reality is much more different than they could have guessed.

I loved the action in this book, add to it the unexpected storyline and you have a great read!

Action, mystery and more
This is the second book in the Nite Fire series and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed book 1 and was ready to delve back into the world of dragons and monsters. I recommend reading book 1 first as it will help to orient the story. The author is brilliant with the world building and bringing a story with so much action, emotion and mystery but it doesn’t feel overwhelming. The story has a natural flow that kept me turning the pages. So good to see Dahlia with her crew. Intrigued to see what adventure awaits in book 3.

This series is a slow burning love that I don’t want to let go of.
Thank goodness I read book one.
This story picks up right where it left off, and it drags you into the story one page at a time.
It does not disappoint.
There is a new threat, new strategies and adventures.
You really cannot go wrong with a female lead.
I am so looking forward to book three. Give me more.
The way the author uses words to draw you in and create this world.
I always love dragons.
This is long and thrilling and full of mystery and OMG moments.
Another five stars to this author, I recommend this,
Read book one first.

I am so in love with Dahlia. I’ma sucker for strong female lead characters, and she’s all over it. She’s definitely not going to let some new guy come into her town and use it like a Petrie dish for testing a new drug. I am still all for the dragon shifter lines too! It’s nice to see something other than werewolves or other were-animals. This also being book two, HIGHLY Recommended to read book one. Get a good backstory on the badness that Dahlia. I’m ready for book three!

I really enjoyed this book. While above everything, it was a fantasy novel, it was so much more than that. It kind of felt like a mix of many popular genres: action, romance, fantasy, it has it all! This was definitely a unique take on the “magic powers” trope, which was entertaining on its own, but it also had great world and character building! I would definitely recommend it as a fun, easy read.

Nite Fire: Chain Reaction (Book 2) by C.L. Schneider – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Chain Reaction (Nite Fire #2)Chain Reaction by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Chain Reaction is the second book in the Nite Fire series. I would definitely recommend starting at book one, Flash Point, so you get to know the characters and the world. It’s an urban fantasy series about Dahlia Nite, a shape-shifting dragon who investigates crimes related to other monsters who have crossed over into the human world.

In Chain Reaction, Nite and her colleagues are presented with a particularly baffling series of cases. Spontaneous human combustion is involved, which makes gathering evidence near-impossible! And also means they’ve got no chance of hiding what’s happening from the public. So it’s a race against the clock to work out what’s happening before it happens again and public panic worsens.

Evans comes into his own in this book. As one of the few humans who knows Nite’s secret, he has declared himself her sidekick and helps cover for her when she needs to use her abilities to gather clues. In this book, we also get to meet Dr Winters, the medical examiner who has the mammoth task of working out what happened whilst she is being kept in the dark about the paranormal aspects of the case.

This book gets five stars from me! I would recommend the series to fans of urban fantasy and paranormal mystery. And anyone who wishes they could turn into a dragon!

Chain Reaction (Nite Fire #2)Chain Reaction by C.L. Schneider

I am well impressed. The second book in any series sometimes stalls to a lull and is a set up for more books instead of trying to answer anything in book one. This is not one of those cases. It seamlessly moves from one book to another picking right up where the first one and continues the story at a fairly good pace. The author does it again with this wonderful book. Dalhia is still my favorite character. She is strong and has more character development in this book too. The writing is wonderfully done yet again! This sets the bar for all the other fantasy books I’m reading. I can’t wait for the rest of the series!!! Well done and we’ll worth the read!

Thrilling dragon series starter
A gripping start to an action packed supernatural dragon series. This book had it all: mystery, suspense, drama, romance, paranormal and of course, dragons. It is an intense storyline, with strong characterisation and excellent world building that draws you in from the start. Dahlia is a strong female lead, that has a natural appeal and keeps the story moving. The author does a brilliant job at ensuring every character is memorable in their own right and the use of imagery is spot on. Looking forward to book 2.

Book 2 in the Nite Fire series does not disappoint. Lots of action and mayhem, just as in Book 1, with Dahlia kicking supernatural butt. Used to diving in to solve sticky problems then hopping on to the next trial, she is trying this time to stay put. She is unused to having relationships, and the anxiety his can bring when people you care about are at risk. As she wades through those murky waters, she also battling a new entity – humans infected with a paranormal drug that is killing them in droves. I enjoyed seeing a bit more character development of Dahlia, making her a more complex hero. Can’t wait to start book 3!

I highly recommend you read the first before you dive into this book! We are once again met with our pained but striving heroine Dahlia Nite. Detective Alex Creed and Dahlia have a new affliction on their hands.

Together, although their methods very much so differ in execution they are trying to solve what exactly brought this new affliction to town and who. The banter between them is quite comical and I truly enjoy them as a duo.

I am really excited that this is a series that I can continue. It still just as the first had the right amount of action and fantasy to keep me wanting more and needing to know more.

This author was a new read for me. I was a bit lost at the beginning of the book and could have used a bit more back story and walk through of some of the terms and definitions before jumping right in, but with that being said I did enjoy this book. The main character Lee was quite endearing with her vulnerabilities.

Lee has a unique magic that allows her to shift between the veil of this world and the next where she can move around without being seen or heard, a great asset for a thief! The major problem is that every time she uses this magic it is slowly killing her.

There was a ton of action in this book which made it a great page turner. I look forward to book 2.

Nite Fire : Chain Reaction is the second book in Nite Fire Series. I’m a huge fan of this author and her style of writing instantly pulls you in and takes you on quite the ride. I highly recommend reading this series in order as it will help give you better understanding of what is going on and you get to know the characters better. I messed up and read it out of order but u didn’t have a hard time following. This series is definitely going on my re-read list. This is a fast paced Paranormal/Fantasy that is packed with action, mystery, murder and mayhem. In this story we find Dahlia Nite and Alex Creed investigating a mysterious ailment that’s leading to strange deaths within Sentinel City. The further into the investigation they go its seems they are finding themselves with lots of questions and no answers. Can they keep the city safe while trying to figure everything out? Will these two solve the mystery of what or who is behind the deaths before it’s way to late? I freaking loved this book and I highly recommend reading to find out what happens next. I can promise you won’t be disappointed. If you are a fan of paranormal/Fantasy then this author is for you. I can’t wait to read many more books from this Author.

I enjoyed this book. The world, magic system, and characters are unique and interesting. I both liked and didn’t like Lee. She is prickly and standoffish, which is understandable considering her life. I wish we knew more about how the crew came together and the relationship between crew members prior to the events in this book, and I really want to know what happens to Finn, Lee, and the people we met along the way.

Great world building!! I love fantasy and rarely find a new subset to that category! This author not only created a whole new world but a whole new set of magical rules! The characters were diverse and well detailed! I loved the premise that something crashing from space could infect humans and give them supernatural powers. Of course as always magic comes at a price but the way the author deals with that basic rule is not only entertaining but is entirely different from other magical, mystical realms. All in all I really enjoyed this novel and look forward to the next book in the series.

I was totally hooked with the first in the series. The quest for truth and to learn more of things I had grown to love in the first book, continues in this amazing book. I found this one for me was more suspenseful than the first, but still pulled me in and would not let go! This book and series, seriously is amazing 100%!

As per the first novel I loved as well in this one, learning more about Dalia and who she was and more about her, in different ways. I love how she is such a complex character, and mysterious in her own ways, but never ever makes life or the story boring in any sort of way! Things take a lot if twists and turns in this book and Dahlia literally fight her own demons as well what could be the reason for all the issues the city is facing. I loved how things didn’t seem to go her way at times, but she always was more determined than ever. The suspense was very real this book was amazing beginning to end! Also, as loved in the first novel, the visual as if a work of art in the descriptions of things! I loved how the author played on words and really created a visual master piece of Dahlia’s city and world!

Loved this book so much. This series as well as the writing of the author is so freaking good and amazing! The author knows how to keep their readers interested and wanting more, and us as the readers get what we want in installments, as to keep us in anticipation haha! I can not wait to see what Dahlia is to face next as well as her city! I highly recommend this book, series, and author! Truly a must read!

Chain Reaction (Nite Fire #2)Chain Reaction by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

As Nite and her partner Creed are drawn into a new mystery that has links back to their first case, they quickly realize all is not as it seems. Nite has already confided in her side-kick Evans about who she really is but is hesitant to delve in too much deeper for his safety. Can she bring Creed in on the same level as Evans? Can she solve the mystery and keep the reality on the down low before all of Sentinel City combusts?

This is such an interesting series! I appreciated how the author went into more detail about the world of Drimera and how it relates to Sentinel City, the human world. I really enjoyed seeing Dahlia Nite come to the realization that she isn’t alone, and that she can be part of a team. I was drawn to the fact that there is still a lot of mystery that surrounds her and her abilities. Therefore, I will keep reading this series because I feel like I am getting to witness her finding herself and her true potential. And… I am pretty sure it is going to be amazing!

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I can say I’ve had a blast. I was attention was able to be grabbed and as someone with ADHD and autism I definitely still held onto the book and understood the meanings. The emotions that Lee went through as basically living her life trying to get out of a street gang and save her own life while living with the guilt of not being able to save another’s. This book is a page turner and has me wanting more and so I’m glad there is going to be more than just one book. I would suggest this book to everyone.

Short and sweet this writer is well spoken and keeps your mind active. If you want to be taken to another world for awhile please read this book.

Thief of Magic is a great book! I love Lee who is a stubborn, powerful woman that has been through so much. She only wants to be free and will do everything in her power to gain that freedom even as she is surrounded by people wanting to use her for her abilities .
I also love Adam even though he had his own agenda I love how he starts to care for everyone and just wants to do what’s right.
My favorite character is probably Sam, he is such a sweetheart and his abilities are so cool!
The beginning kind of started a bit abruptly so it took a minute to get into the story but two chapters in and I was hooked!
