Following on from the first book, this one takes you on a journey as it continues Dahlia’s story. Dahlia is just as well written and kick ass as in the first book. I love how unpredictable this series is, full of action and twists as the plot unravels. The author has great world building, you really feel like you are there. Definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys the paranormal genre!

Lee has magical abilities that are slowly killing her. In order to survive, she needs to find the cure. This means she must stay with a crew and steal in order to earn money. With a shady leader and the FBI on their tracks, Lee is not sure who she can trust.
Opinion
At first, I was a bit taken aback with all of the terms the author used to describe the magic and the groups contained in the book. Once I was able to get a hold of the names, the story flowed effortlessly and quickly. The concepts presented by the author are certainly a fresh look at magic, both how it is obtained and what the powers entail. I truly believe that paranormal fans will fawn over this book. Best of all, it is the first book in a series with the second book due to come out over the summer.

Like their back stories and what made them who they are now!!! The ending wasn’t what I expected but sometimes that is how it is.

Orphaned and alone. In order to be a survivor Lee resorts to stealing. I really recommend this supernatural book. Wouldn’t it be cool to get powers? Not to be a death sentence though.

Lee is what the title says, a thief of magic. Every time she enters the Liminal Realm, she gets torn apart on the inside because of the magic. There’s only one place she can go to try and get healed. The only problem is with all the thieving she’s done with her crew, she’s got the FBI and others on her trail. This book has so much in it that it’s great to read and hard to put down!

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds, #1)Thief of Magic by Bree Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lee is a regular human gorl with an extraordinary ability, since humans were gifted by a race called the Ceteri with Thaumaturgy, different types of magic have been found and the type Lee has is slowly killing her, it is like a cancer which tears her cells apart each and every time she uses her power. Her power is a useful one, it is the ability to cross the veil between realms into the Liminal Realm, a place where she is neither seen or heard by others, but she can travel long distances by using Ley Lines as a power source, it is great for her profession as well. Lee is a professional thief, she is the member of a group of people who are just trying to survive, however, their money doesn’t come from legal ventures and because there aren’t enough jobs to go round, they are currently flat broke.

Lee is realising that her usage of her ability is bringing her closer to death than ever before and all she wants to do now is find out how she can travel to the planet which the Ceteri live on, ask them to cure her of her Liminality and save her life, but in order to get there, she has to find some directions. This is where she starts to keep things from her crew and goes on a job by herself to steal something that she can use to pay for the information she needs, however, when a member of her crew turn up, she has no choice but to let them in on the job, much to her annoyance, because she doesn’t want them to know what she is up to. The heist goes wrong and they are nearly caught and by the FBI no less, however, something strikes her as odd when one of the agents seems to be able to follow her into the Liminal Realm, but she has no time to think about it when all she can do is stay alive and Liminal long enough to escape their clutches.

When they return to the hideout, Lee finds that she is going to be watched and that if she wants to leave the crew, she is going to have to be more stealthy, however, as they realise how much money they will need just to get by, they decide to plan a last ditch effort heist. In order for this to go ahead, the boss decides that they need more muscle and much to her annoyance, the new muscle’s test is to take her down when she returns from one of her night-time walks. They pass the test and it is then that Lee finds out that this new muscle is her new bodyguard, much to her annoyance and theirs, but will this foil Lee’s plan to get the coordinates to the Ceteri’s home, or will it be the FBI or her own demise which will find her before she even has a chance to try? This is an urban fantasy with a magical twist where all the sides are hostile and the odds are stacked against the underdog as they race against time and mortality to achieve their deepest desires.

This book opens with an absolute bang. We are faced with magical beings. One in particular being our main character Lee.

Lee has magic but there is a problem. This magic comes with a cost. An absolute cost at that. On top of that Lee is being tracked by the FBI.

This book has wonderful characters and fantastic world building elements. This is one of the better first books to a series I have read in quite some time. If you’re debating, don’t. This is a wonderful fantasy to pick up. A quick read as well.

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds, #1)Thief of Magic by Bree Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thief of Magic is the first book in the Shadowed Minds series. I thoroughly enjoyed this fantasy adventure and look forward to continuing to read the series!
Lee, the protagonist, has powers which are strongest when she is in liminal spaces. Empty laundromats, museums after hours and other such places turn up a lot in this book. It makes for a wonderful, mysterious urban fantasy world.
This book features an exciting cast of characters with different powers. All their powers have downsides as well, and I like the extent to which this book explores the cost of magic. For example, Sam (one of my favourites!) can see people’s intentions, but this means he struggles to go out in public where he is overwhelmed by the information he gets from everyone around him.
There are plenty of complications in this book. Everyone wants different things and few, if any, are fully trustworthy. There are mysteries galore, which keep readers turning the pages.
This book gets five stars from me! I’d recommend it to fans of urban fantasy and magical heists. This is a very promising start to the series!

Lee, the main character, is a thief. Not only is she good at her job but she in indispensable because of the magic she has. Lee can enter another realm called the ‘ Liminal Realm’. When she enters this realm, she can travel without being seen or heard.

Unfortunately, Lee hates her abilities. Being a Liminal has shortened her life significantly and she is tired of it. She will do anything to be healed. In order to do so, she needs to meet the ‘Ceteri’, who are the beings that have introduced magic to the inhabitants of Earth.

In this novel, we follow Lee in her adventure to find the Ceteri while getting weaker with every use of her power. Not only that but the FBI are also tracking her. It was a very interesting read. I will be looking into the other books of this series for sure!

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds, #1)Thief of Magic by Bree Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Thief of Magic is a great fantasy novel with lots of action and interesting characters. Our heroine, Lee, is bright, tough, and singularly driven to do whatever it takes to avoid her fate. Growing up without parents, and having to steal to survive, she is resourceful and pragmatic, but also slow to trust anyone. When the new teammate joins the crew, he seems inordinately interested in her movements and motivations. His interest makes her uncomfortable, but she needs his help to complete the jobs and earn the money for her plan. There are plenty of exciting heist scenes, complete with otherworldly magic and powers. Lee’s race to find a cure provides excellent drama and suspense to keep the reader interested. I highly recommend this read.

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds Book 1) by Bree Moore – Review by Emily Beehler

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds, #1)Thief of Magic by Bree Moore
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely love this book! It is a fast-paced read that keeps you turning the page. In the book the main protagonists are Lee and Adam or “Finn”. Lee is one of the people on earth that got magical abilities after a magical solar flare affected both earth and the population. Lee’s specific ability causes her to become weak and sick the longer she uses them. The adverse effects are compared to a cancer that is slowly killing her. Her actual magic ability consists of ‘surfing’ magical lay lines causing her to travel somewhere in an instant. She can also go into a different world or energy field on earth that can make her disappear from sight. Adam is a detective trying to figure a way to reverse magic in people to bring more stability back to earth. To do this he needs a specific type of magic, a person who is a Limnel which is exactly what Lee is. Adam goes undercover within a thief crew that Lee is in, to capture her. I quite enjoyed that dynamic between Adam and Lee, and the growth between the two. Along the way are many twists and turns that many readers will enjoy! I highly recommend this read.

I was instantly intrigued by this book just based on the cover, it was stunning and completely called to me, and the story itself was absolutely incredible! This was one of those books that I read in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to put it down as I was fully immersed in the storyline.

This author writes with so much detail, from the most miniscule thing to the really intricate scenes, the magic, the emotions and the explanations for all the important details of everything in between. Nothing is left to the imagination and I love that, the picture this author painted was so entertaining.

I cannot wait to read more from this author asap and would highly recommend this book.

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds Book 1) by Bree Moore – Review by Amber Poole

Thief of Magic (Shadowed Minds, #1)Thief of Magic by Bree Moore
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Overall I enjoyed this book. The plot was interesting. An otherworldly force crashes to earth and infects people with abilities. These abilities had its perks but it comes with a price. There are different abilities. As with everything the government doesn’t like it’s people having more power than it. It supposedly seeks to understand it. But they have ulterior motives.

An morally conscious FBI agent, who follows laws to a T. Goes undercover to infiltrate a crew of these affected people. He has his own reasons for doing so. His target, a woman who doesn’t even want her powers, Lee, is fighting for her life and future. Her ability puts an early death sentence on her head and all she’s looking for is a cure. Everyone has secrets. Everyone has their own personal mission. Can anyone trust those around them? While the characters are navigating personal issues, Lee is contacted and charged with their biggest heist yet. Can she convince her crew to help? Is the payout worth the cost?

The story kept me invested. I finished it pretty quickly. Definitely a page turner. I thought the story was quite creative and original. The characters were enjoyable. You love some of them and you hate others. The only issue I had was that there was a point where an important character kinda disappears. And the other characters seem hardly affected by it at all. I guess it kinda insinuated he was leaving but it felt more like a blowing off steam type of leave rather than a permanent leave. It just didn’t plot well to me. Other than that it was great. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves supernatural and/or fantasy novels.

I just must say this was a freaking good read! I had a lot of fun reading this one. There was the right balance of drama and action, and the author really knew how to draw you into the story, with ease! It was very well written and the characters were wonderful with all of their traits!

The set of the characters and talk of powers was very much impossible not to fall in love with all that was contained within this amazing book. The book takes flight at a nice steady pace and keeps you reading till the final word on the final page, I could not put this one down! I found this book made me think of choices with the real world, every decision we make, will we pay for it at a later date?

Lee was wonderful. She was a character that was not mind quested with her power, more less, more reluctant to use them or even have them. this all made her very interesting as a character. I became invested with her and her surrounding characters. There was a lot of action and danger, tender moments as well. I did not what would happen as I turned every page. I enjoyed this book so much and I shall most defiantly be picking up the next in the series! I need more of this series, it was so good!

Vey good read and I do highly recommend this book as well as the series that pretrains to it I believe that goes without saying so. I had a lot of fun reading this book, and the author is amazing, and I think this is one not to be passed up, but more rather enjoyed to your full heart’s content!

Thief of Magic is the first book in the Shadowed Minds series by Bree Moore. It is a fantastic urban fantasy with an intriguing and highly original plot, wonderful world building, adventure, magic, the paranormal, mystery, danger, action, emotion, agendas, heists, high stakes, a touch of romance, different realms, and an intense race against time with life on the line.
I was really excited to read this story as the blurb sold me on the book in just the first few sentences. I set off on this adventure with high expectations- and the author didn’t disappoint! Her writing is so wonderfully detailed and descriptive- the story was so easy to visualise- coming to life before my eyes. It is quite original with quirky/interesting characters that definitely added an extra element of intrigue to the storyline. This would make a really great movie or television series!!!
There is no way I am missing an instalment of this series- I will be following it through to the end. And I have found another author to add to my must read list!
Happy reading!

Thank you, Bree Moore!

This author is new to me but her urban fantasy world building is carefully and cleverly woven. It is a dark paranormal urban fantasy tale that is interesting and the plot was intriguing. The story was unpredictable and the plot that flows and kept me stuck to the pages throughout. The narrative is well written and the author’s writing style makes it so easy to imagine what she has crafted. With magic and dangers, emotions, conspiracy, and action and so much more in between. It’s quirky, a little unusual and a wonderful adventure as well as a slow burn romance.
Living on the edge makes things tough, hiding from those that hunt her tougher, but the true enemy is within herself.

This is my first time reading this author but she did a great job pulling me into this urban fantasy. While this is my first time reading this author it will not be my last she pulled me in with her creative, unique characters, her plot line was full of intricate details, and everything together made the story very fast paced and easy to get lost in. Lee is our main character and boy oh boy does she do a phenomenal job. She is a fantastic strong and lovable main character that really pulls the whole story together. Sam and Risa were also vital to this story, and personally I can’t wait for the next installment to see why Lee and the gang get into next.

Thief of Magic is the first book in the Shadowed Minds Series. This is a wonderfully written Paranormal/Fantasy that pulled me in from the beginning and I had a hard time putting it down. There was a couple times while reading i got a bit lost but it wasn’t for long. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m looking forward to reading more from her. I’m a fan already and her style of writing and attention to detail simply wonderful. Her characters are very relatable and fully developed. I could very vividly picture what was going on. If you could have any Magic power what would it be? For me it would be to be invisible, that way I can always know what is going on and so much more. I’m afraid I’m going to accidentally give a spoiler so I’m just going to say this. I highly recommend reading this book its fast paced and packed with action, magic and much more. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series .

The plot and story line of this book was incredible and flowed all the way thou. the way the characters solved the issues and worked them for so amazing, that you couldn’t not want to like them. Lee is an amazing and incredible lead character, she tries to do everything on her own, and to solve her own problems, and doesn’t like to ask for help, which doesn’t always work out for her, and she ends up in some really sticky situations. Magic, demons, death, artifacts, and the FBI is all rolled into one. Loved reading this book so much, and really can’t wait to read more.
