Bowled: Facing the Yorker of Love (To Love a Sportsman Book 1) by Pamela Q. Fernandes – Review by Susan Mowdy

Bowled (To Love a Sportsman Book 1)Bowled by Pamela Q. Fernandes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So I’ma sucker for sport romances, not just because I love sports but adding in my two loves just does it for me. This is a new author for me and sports romance and it did not disappoint. I stayed up so late reading this. I had no care in the world in losing the sleep!

This is a story of 2 people living the horrid burn of a bad relationships. Matthew and Rose are timid of this relationship that blooms but the chemistry was undeniable and so believable. this whole book felt so real!

I loved this book so much I’m dying to get into book 2!

The Last Dance (The Sorrel Janes Mysteries) by Lonna Enox – Review by Susan Mowdy

The Last DanceThe Last Dance by Lonna Enox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read by Lonna Enox and I wasn’t disappointed. The story itself is completely original which I LOVE and the characters are beautifully written and very easy to connect with. It’s one of those stories that grab you from the first page and it won’t let you up until the end.

Sorrel moves to Saddle Gap after her husband was murdered. Unfortunately, the past might be following her since murders are now happening in this small town. Chris is a detective and is determined to solve the case but also to protect Sorrel who has secrets she won’t deluge to him.

I highly recommend this mysterious book and I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Smoke & Mirrors (Nite Fire #3)Smoke & Mirrors by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is such an amazing series! There is so much suspense, mystery, twists & turns, action, and etc that you would want in a series!

Dahlia is one of the strongest heroines I have read and she’s so fun. Alex is probably almost my favorite hero. They are the perfect team. This books takes into two worlds where there is a mystery behind dismembered bodies. can she catch the killer?

This is my favorite paranormal series this year. You can’t help but fall for the characters and get sucked up into the storyline

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Susan Mowdy

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1)Shattered by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have never read anything by Via Mari prior to reading Shattered and OMG I have to go read all of her works!

This is about Jenny and Brian. I will say it could be a trigger from some but the author wrote it so beautifully (best way I can describe it) and not in a brutal way. She has literally been through so much that you would think it would just break her but she is the owner of her own consulting company. Brian is an heir to the Carrington Steel company. He feels that women only want him for one thing she he guards his heart. Their two very different worlds are about to come together and take you on one heck of a rollercoaster ride!

This book grabbed me from the very beginning and it still hasn’t let me go. I’m so excited to read more!

Hoosier DadHoosier Dad by Elizabeth Seckman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hoosier Dad is the first book I have read by Elizabeth Seckman and it hooked me from the very beginning. The title alone had me hooked since I live in Indiana so I had to dive in to see what it was all about.

Sarah and Richland were a joy to read. She is a lawyer who is now back and practicing law in her hometown. Rick works in construction and has 2 daughters that he loves very much. Unfortunately he is now face with a custody battle over them and turns to Sarah to help him out. As the time they spend together fighting custody, Rich falls in love with Sarah and who wouldn’t. She’s smart, independent, and the chemistry between the two jumps off the page at you.

I loved everything about this story. Even the secondary characters were amazing to read. Beautiful story and highly recommended!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Out of the Box Collection was an absolute beautiful read! This will tug at your heartstring and the emotions you’ll experience is like riding a rollercoaster so I suggest to have tissues nearby! Jennifer Theriot has a way of consuming you into her world and this book won’t let you up even when the emotions get real!

This is one of those stories that you cannot simply finish reading and walk away. It puts many things into perspective about your own life and family.

We follow the lives of Olivia and Ash. Olivia’s husband has left her which was completely heart breaking but she’s trying to prove her independence. Ash is a man that has completely enthralled Olivia and he finds himself having feelings himself but will they act on it?

This is one of those books that I’ll read over and over again. It was beautiful as it was emotional and highly recommended

Secure Desire: A Chase Group Story by R.L. Dunn – Review by Susan Mowdy

Secure DesireSecure Desire by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Secure Desire is one action – packed romantic suspense novel. It gives you everything from action, violence, twists and turns, and everything you would want in this genre!

Ian Chase is an Ex Navy SEAL and now head the Chase Group which is a billion dollar security firm. Imagine to his surprise when his brief encounter with a very engaged art historian that he had six years prior suddenly pops back into her life.

Cassiopeia Ellis is no longer engaged and even though she suffers from amnesia, she remembers meeting Ian all those years ago. This is a good thing but it also scares the crap out of her. He has appeared in her life when someone out there wants her dead.

This book had me at the edge of my seat THE WHOLE TIME! It was such a thrilling ride and I can’t wait to dive into book 2!

Past Storm and Fire by Christy Nicholas – Review by Susan Mowdy

Past Storm and FirePast Storm and Fire by Christy Nicholas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book had me hooked just by reading the synopsis! It sounded so different than anything Ive read before so this was a must read!

Val was such an amazing character. She’s hitting a rough patch in her life and she’s turned to writing a romance novel that takes place in Iceland. This is her escape. She was able to create a world in which she can escape the issues in her life but all of a sudden the lines between her world and the fictional one she’s made up start to cross each other.

The story was straight up brilliant. It gave you all the feels and left me with a slight book hangover!
