The Men of Holmby Hills: Chase (The Holmby Hills Series Book 1) by Allyson Simonian – Review by Susan Mowdy

The Men of Holmby Hills: ChaseThe Men of Holmby Hills: Chase by Allyson Simonian
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book i’ve read from this author and it completely intrigued me. I loved that one character is famous in a book and I wanted to see how it played out.

Carrie is a school teacher and it seemed that her relationship to chase was on the fast track. She was completely enthralled but being married to someone famous was completely different from what we believe it would be. Chase is an awesome hero and wants to change stuff to make his life and image better but there are battles!

This is the first book in this series and I will say I’m intrigued on what else this series holds.

I can officially say I’m hooked! I love MC books but this is probably is definitely towards the top of favorite MC series! I was completely engrossed by the story starting on page one. I haven’t read the previous books by Manda Mellett but I loved learning the history between Paladin and Jayden as well as getting to know the other characters.

I loved how this story is completely original! I have never read anything like it and it was so beautifully done. I cannot wait to consume the next books in this series!

So I guess I can call myself a step-brother romance lover but this one topped the cake! the Feels were real and I loved all of the characters that played a roll! The tension they feel is real as well as the sizzling chemistry. This is one of those books that that you cannot put down. The minute you read the first page, it’ll suck you in until the last page and it’ll still stay with you. Both characters were perfectly written and you can’t help rooting for both!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story was so touching, movinig, and very emotional. It sucked you in at the very start and it didn’t once let me up! There is no doubt in my mind that this book wouldn’t have this effect on everyone. It’s a story that many people live through but many deal with it differently. Its a story of love and forgiveness.

Logan is caring for him mother who has Alzheimers. The emotions he goes through from sad to frustration to utter exhaustion pulls at your heartstrings. Logan soon discovers journals that he knew nothing about their existence and everything he thought or knew is up in question.

This was one beautiful and heartfelt book that everyone needs to read!

A Perfect Fit by Zoe Lee – Review by Susan Mowdy

A Perfect FitA Perfect Fit by Zoe Lee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Perfect Fit was a sweet hometown romance that just lifts your spirits. I wouldn’t say there was a ton on angst but just a light-hearted romance that feeds the soul with all the sweets!

I loved Dunk and Daisy. The way they got together was completely hilarious! I loved how Dunk was sent on the chase for his “Cinderella” and the chase his friends lead him on. My favorite thing was the second half of the story. I love how both Dunk and Daisy have some personal growth that needs to be done and the journey that it takes them on.

Zoe Lee is a brand new author for me and I will definitely read more from this author!

CLAIMED (The Torzial Affair Book 3)CLAIMED by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is probably one of my favorite series that has sucked me in this year! I love the ups and downs Brian and Jenny has faced and how they fight for their love!

This was the ending that top any and all of my expectations. Throughout the other books in this series, the couple has had massive hurdles to conquer and honestly I believe many would’ve quit if they were in their shoes. This book and this series has brought so many feelings in the forefront and the feels will take on one heck of a rollercoaster ride.

I don’t want to give anything away but if you have been reading Brian and Jenny’s story then this is the ending you’ve been dying for. If you haven’t read this series yet, then this needs to be your next binge read!

September Breeze (Cinnamon Bay, #2)September Breeze by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

To say I’m a sucker for single dad romances is an understatement. I LOVE THEM and this one definitely didn’t disappoint!

This is a story about Brian, a widow and has 2 girls, and Tess who is a songwriter who stumbles upon an ad looking for a nanny. The intensity between the two sizzled off the pages. I was completely hooked from the first page and kept thinking about the characters well after I finished the book. The story had all the feels that you want in a good romance with a splash of humor thrown in there.

I’m completely hooked now on this series and it’ll be a definite one-click for me!

Regency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady by TL Clark – Review by Susan Mowdy

Regency Love: Reflections of a Young LadyRegency Love: Reflections of a Young Lady by T.L. Clark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have always found the Regency era to be fascinating just because I see where we are at now compared to back then. To read about women who were treated like property (and in all actuality, land was probably treated better than a woman) and add in all the loose tongues with gossip and I’m hooked. I’m also a little picky on my historical reads considering I have a degree in history but I do have to say I loved this! The dialogue to the storyline had me hooked! This author painted everything perfectly that the story flowed and I couldn’t put it down. Even the history buff in me was giddy!

OOWEEEE *fans self*

Guilty Pleasures Volume 3 is a compilation of short erotic stories that can be read super fast. There isn’t a complex storyline in the stories but more of just the quick sexy read!

This book follows Brad and his sexcapades and wow! Seriously the pages literally singed on how hot every story was! I won’t even lie some of them had me blushing and that’s something that’s hard to do!

I loved this book so much that I’m about to go and hunker down to read the first two volumes!

I have been an avid fan of Sylvie Stewart’s books since her very first one. I have loved every single one of them and they keep getting better and better!

I loved just how Mac and Poppy were the perfect fit for one another. They were complete opposites but it worked so well that the match up complemented each other instead of feeling off. I loved the banter between the two and the chemistry that burned the pages.

To say I inhaled this book is a complete understatement. It was one of those books I wanted to savor and slow down but I kept telling myself “one more chapter” and suddenly it was 230am and the book was done. Definitely a 5 star read!

This book as well as the other’s can be read as standalone but you’ll miss out on the other characters and the full uniqueness of the world! I loved how we finally see Liz from a different perspective than what she was previously looked like!

This is the last book in the series and I will totally miss is but it was perfectly written to conclude this series. It’s one that I’ll come back to and read over and over again!

This series is completely addicting! You can’t help but fall for these characters and their story! This whole series has lived up to my expectations and then some.
This is Bella and Fitz’s story and they were completely made for one another. I love how they were separated for a period of time but the love didn’t die. Fitz is utterly swoon worthy and you can’t help but just fall for him!
This series should be on everyone’s must read list. Each story will engage you from the moment you start reading until the last page. I guess you could read this book as a standalone but I wouldn’t suggest it not only because the series is awesome but you really get to know the character’s in all the other books!

Unfortunately things happen and the village believes that offering the gods an unmarried woman will hopefully get them back into their good graces. This is a book that makes you think while reading it and even after. It makes you analyze those thoughts and I sat and thought about it well after reading the book which to me is a sign of a great book.

This book was a turning point for me. I haven’t had a book lately that really made me think and reflect. Actually that is something that is hard to come by so I don’t want to give anything away but I will say this is a MUST READ. This book stimulates my brain and it won’t stop

Wow! This was one action packed and intense read in which I loved! This book literally had me hooked from page one!

This is my first book by this author and I can say I’m going to go back and read her other works. This book is not the first book of this series but I felt like I was ok reading it without reading the previous books but I will be going back and read the beginning of this series!

Hunter was probably one of the most complex characters I have read which made me love him so much. There are so many layers to peel away with him and figuring out why he does or is compelled to do what he does. The side characters just made the story that much better! They were so well rounded and just gave the story a new depth.

I cannot praise this book enough. Its intense and it’ll take you on one hell of a roller coaster ride!
